Rain rain go away...

2011-02-28T10:42:00.001-05:00

Don't come back another day!

It's a gloomy, rainy, yucky day out today. Rain and ice. And more rain.
I am decidedly not singing in the rain. Other than the fact I can't sing. Cats sing better. So that's better left up to David. I'm sure you'd agree.

Speaking of weather. Bets on him mentioning weather today?

It's back!

2011-02-21T00:25:00.001-05:00

On a completely random and completely pointless note, twidroyd is back in action!!

I know, I know. This has nothing to do with anything. But if you follow me on twitter you'll know this is a huge deal.

Don't mess with my twitter apps. Serious business folks!

Carry on.

Fans are awesome! So are sisters!

2011-02-19T10:52:00.004-05:00

I think you are awesome too!

Dips!

2011-02-19T09:54:00.003-05:00

Dips can be good. Or bad. I prefer garlic.

Actually this is just a test post from my blogger app on my phone.

David Archuleta no longer with Jive Records

2011-02-18T13:31:00.002-05:00

First there was rumor about this from Melinda, his former manager. But it looks like its confirmed.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

After Twitter lit up last night with rumors that David Archuleta had been dropped by Jive Records, his label home since 2008, a Jive spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that "David was released from our roster."

Archuleta's latest album, 2010's The Other Side of Down, failed to gain traction at radio or on the charts, where it's sold just over 63,000 copies. That's a far cry from his 2008 self-titled debut, which moved nearly a million units and has been certified platinum.

TGIF!

2011-02-18T10:04:00.002-05:00

It's Friday, finally. The weekend is upon us.
Some of you might have a long weekend because of President's Day. Anyone have plans for the weekend?

Scary things!

2011-02-17T15:05:00.003-05:00

Indeed.

UPDATE:

Looks like David is no longer with WEG Management. So... now what?

Change of plans.

2011-02-15T16:10:00.002-05:00

What kind of plans are you changing? Planning on going to the beach?
You could borrow Rihanna's umbrella.

Korean downloads of Something 'Bout Love

2011-02-13T10:32:00.002-05:00

Saw this over on IDF and thought it was cool.

Korean top 200 download year-end-chart (international):

1) Tik Tok - Ke$ha 1,412,653

129)Something `Bout Love - David Archuleta 99,408

200)We No Speak Americano (Original Mix) - Yolanda Be Cool & DCup 66,979

Interview with Reader's Digest Philippines

2011-02-13T09:32:00.004-05:00

This interview is from back in November when David visited the Philippines.
Here are a few excerpts I wanted to comment on.

No more “David Who?”

Archuleta was in Singapore for a promotional visit last November where he spoke to the media at The Ritz Carlton, Millenia hotel. Clad in a grey tee, black jeans and striped cardigan, the baby-faced crooner flashed his mega-watt smile at a roomful of journalists. Archuleta abandoned his usual shy and soft-spoken demeanour and amidst lots of laughter and even some good-natured tickling, opened up about his music, his family and his future plans.

Reader’s Digest: It’s your second visit to Singapore. Did you get a chance to sample more local food this time around?
Archuleta: It’s interesting because it’s hard for me to have seafood. Last year I wasn’t able to do any seafood, this time I’ve been more open to prawns so it’s, like, slowly but surely. I had some [seafood] when we were at Longbeach [seafood restaurant] and [in a sing song voice] I had chicken rice yesterday. That was good.

Your mum used to be a Latin dancer. Have you ever tried Latin dancing?
Yeah, I have actually. I love Bachata. I like to try Salsa. I just love that music. It makes me move.

Have you written any songs for your family?
I’ve written some songs about my family. A lot of them didn’t make it on the album though [laughs].

Any plans for the future?
The future’s wild, that’s for sure. [This year] I’m hoping to focus on touring. I like to go do shows live; it’s just a very different connection with the audience. It’s been fun doing a bunch of appearances like radio shows back in the States. I’ve gone to do a couple of [radio shows] with artistes like Natasha Bedingfield, Bruno Mars and even The Gin Blossoms.

Visit Reader's Digest Philippines for the full article.

It's nice to see you are trying to branch out with seafood. I love seafood, it's really yummy. You may not want to look at things with heads still attached though. Unless that doesn't bother you.

Makes you move eh? I'm betting you are keeping this under wraps aren't you? Man of mystery you are. It's probably safer that way too.

Ah, more songs that didnt make it to the album. *le sigh* There are probably a lot of those, huh? Wonder what happens to all these songs that "never make it to the album"... Probably absorbed by The Nothing.
I narrowly avoided The Nothing one time, I have photo evidence. We out ran it in a car.

Live shows are always cool. Especially with a band. Here's hoping you get to do more shows this year, or well shows this year. Since this was last year when the interview took place. I don't remember if the last one was this year or last year. Pretaped TV not included. My brain may well be made of swiss cheese. Or cake.

Craft Corner: V-Day cupcake toppers!

2011-02-12T10:14:00.004-05:00

I'm a crafty person. I like crafts. I think they are fun.
It's always neat to see what kind of crafty things people can come up with. I'm a little late to the party on this, but hey, who's counting.

Annie and Bianca collaborated on some David related cupcake toppers for those interested.
You can find instructions and printables over at Bianca's BLOG.

My fav is the cupcake and squirrel one.
I mean look, it's a mini cupcake on a cupcake topper! I like the colors too. The squirrel is just too adorbs!

I also may or may not be slightly jealous of Bianca's extensive digital scrapbooking collection.
One day I will devise a plan to snag her hard drives, but don't tell her that. ;)

Aren't sisters lovley?

2011-02-12T10:08:00.002-05:00

As lovely as sisters can be, they can be weird sometimes! Haha!

Singing in the airport!

2011-02-10T12:44:00.002-05:00

HAHA! These ladies have the right idea! Four for you ladies!

Wonder what he sang? Leavin on a jet plaaannee.
Bet that's it. Or maybe Parachutes and Aiiiiiiirrrrrrplaaanneess.

This would make me happy. Ever so happy.
As it so happens, that is playing in my headphones right now. Coincidence? I think not.

Making a mark - Mormons on TV

2011-02-10T12:16:00.005-05:00

This was on the cover and inside of the Mormon Times today. Apparently about Mormons on TV or something like that.

Thanks MomJulee for the twitpics!

He did it his way!

2011-02-10T08:22:00.004-05:00

I bet that's what he was singing. He probably sings it to himself all the time. heh.

On another note, how does a 20 year old get Frank Sinatra songs stuck in their head? Well, aside from being a human jukebox, that is.

Like a trainwreck, you're on a mission.

2011-02-09T10:46:00.003-05:00

David, please sing this one day. It must happen. Or else. There may be an accident with a tuna. Just sayin'.

Good morningsss!

2011-02-09T08:08:00.004-05:00

It's Wednesday. That means it's humpday.

You laughed didn't you? DIDN'T YOU? Admit it.
It's not what you think. It's the middle of the week. The "hump" of the week.
Like, up the hill, down the hill. Now it's clear sailing to the weekend.

I don't know what I'm going to do with you guys. *shakes head*

Enjoy your day!
