This article really made me realize how much effort rappers have to put into their songs. Sometimes, stringing rhymes together isn’t as easy as it sounds. Believe it or not, these guys go through hundreds of bottles of Excedrin because of the headache associated with thinking up clever rhymes. [sarcasm]

Rapper Young Jeezy, attempting to put the finishing touches on his latest single “U Know Da Club,” has exhausted every rhyme possibility for his song’s third verse with the exception of “Cliff Clavin,” the fictional postal-worker character portrayed by actor John Ratzenberger on the long-running TV show Cheers. “I’ve already got ‘dance-club maven,’ ‘hip-hop haven,’ ‘yes I been cravin’,’ ‘ain’t misbehavin’,’ ‘pussy gonna cave in,’ ‘G’s I been savin’,’ ’steel engravin’,’ and ‘rantin’ and ravin’,'” Young Jeezy said. “I guess I could use ’shock-wavin” or ‘clean shaven,’ but they just don’t make as much sense in context as ‘just like Cliff Clavin.’” Jeezy is also struggling to complete a track called “Ideal Woman,” since he cannot find a single rhyme for “Rhea Perlman.”

Colbert’s intro had me rolling: “A streetwise multi-platinum gangsta rapper who has glorified violence and is known to carry a gun.” Even if you don’t watch anything else today, you should definitely watch these 2 videos.

Murs and 9th Wonder have decided to bless fans with their latest collaboration, Sweet Lord, at no cost.

Murs says the album was recorded 2 years ago, so I’m guessing these are leftovers from Murray’s Revenge.

Murs urges people to buy his new solo album, Murs for President, when it officially drops on September 30th. I’m a big Murs fan, so I’m definitely picking up a copy. But I wonder how many people will still like him enough between now and Sept. 30th to actually go out and buy a copy. Especially when he’s calling people names like “mooch” and “thief.” LOL.
