That’s exactly what I thought. Clean up, maybe spend a few dollars on rental furniture that’s a bit less turquoise leather. Don’t these people watch take this house and sell it?

I think that’s … ridiculous. A million dollars isn’t an unreasonable price tag for Toronto, obvi, but seriously? Put a little effort into it. Would it kill the agent or his/her clients to clean up a bit? And wouldn’t you think that if you’re living in a million-buck house that you could afford better furniture than pouffy turquoise leather?? So that’s a bit of a rant just to say: No, I wouldn’t buy it. Unequivocally not. And also? That agent should be more than a little embarrassed.

Not at all! My hubby and I regularly make a date of scoping the open houses in our area, just for fun. I am a total voyeur at heart, which is also why I love walking the dog at dusk, when everyone has their lights on and you can see inside … wow, I never realized how much that makes me sound like a stalker until I wrote it down! I’m not, I swear!! Anyway, we make up absurd stories about coming into an inheritance and looking to upsize, or that we’re not from the area but are looking to move here, or that my mother’s moving in and we need a bigger place, and then we spend a fun afternoon crawling around other people’s places. We love it! It’s so much better than trolling the MLS site for photos
