A funny thing happened to me this morning/afternoon when I ridiculously overslept due to staying up unbelievably later the previous night, to play the game Edgeworld. I woke up with a great idea. You see I have spent an inhumanly dangerous amount of time playing the game Edgeworld by KABAAM lately. I find it very interesting how the game incorporates a chat window with making alliances and building your base harvesting resources with the goal of making the strongest base in the top alliance. Things get pretty wild when the game opens and entire new sector for new player as well as veterans in older sectors. The chat window is a blaze with wild and outrageous comments, claims, advertisements and what ever else people can say to either recruit players to their alliance or simply to act tough. After 3 days of this, the game changes suddenly on people and their protection bubble is gone. All bases become open to attack and resources are their for the farming. Chat takes on a very different look as spam and foul language will not get you banned and have your account removed but the players themselves take over and attack them instantly and farm their resources leaving them hopeless and afraid to say any more in chat. I started my own alliance just a few days ago to experience this side of things and now the game's site has crashed giving me this chance to write. In fact, I could and have pretty much started to write a manual for tips and help by interacting and selling my alliance. Being in the top alliance in an older sector has given me great knowledge of the game. I can't justifiably write those tips here on the open Internet due to keeping secret hints as my own little selling point for people to join my alliance. As this is really just a big learning experience in the world of game design and web development, I don't take these things too seriously. The serious part is the idea I had this morning. The ultimate goal of the Internet is to become a clear means of communication filtering out lazy and purposeless content. Meaning, spam is coming very near its end and real people who work hard are going to take control of the whole situation. All I can say for now is, this is a very big work in progress which will certainly open a new type of Internet behaviour in the near future. Integrating a game like this with the full on social media will push forth a new era in web design. Imagine if you signed up for Facebook/Twitter/Google+ or others and started your daily spamming and stealing of old and useless content and suddenly a hundred million people attacked and destroyed you page openly and leaving you with utter embarrassment? Likely you would never do that again. If you are interested in further studying this development, feel free to play the game either on Facebook or Google+. Lots of people are asking about the new social media network by the name of Google Plus or G+ for short.
Three major issues people ask me about are:
1. How do I join Google Plus?
Answer: You get an invite. You could ask anyone who already uses Google Plus for an invite or you could even ask me!
2. How do I get a short personalized name for Google Plus?
Answer: Go to the site http://gplus.to/ and follow the simple instructions. Try my link out and see how it works: http://gplus.to/jaredmysko
3. How do I share my posts from Google Plus to my other networks, such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook?
Answer: Google's Chrome browser is required for this. Press the "+" button to open a new tab on your browser. From that new screen, you should see "Apps", "Most visited" and "Recently closed". Go to "Apps" and click "Web Store". In the "Chrome Web Store" you will find all sorts of useful applications. From there you can either search "google plus sharing" or directly click on this link for Extended Share for Google Plus by Verified author: mohamedmansour.com

Nice little storm came past the lake on July 3rd. I'd rather not say the name of the lake since its nicely tucked away from everywhere. Let's just say it's in central Saskatchewan. Anyways, after the storm cell passed in front of the sunset a family of beavers came out to play behind me so I took some photos of the beavers to add to my Saskatchewan wildlife collection. Strangely, one of the beavers was grey and black which is not very common. Possibly a grandpa beaver??

Rescue on the Swift Current Creek [AMAZING VIDEO]

Watch this video as a rescue team of firefighters from the city of Swift Current, Saskatchewan save a mans life from a truly speedy creek. His van got stuck while trying to cross the flooded out road and seconds after climbing into a rescue boat the van was washed downstream. According to the news report, the van was never found!

The water has now caught the lip where the dam meets the water on Wascana Lake. It is now rising much faster and creeping up the streets in front of Saskatchewan's Legislature in Regina. In the past two days water has begun to cover much more vast areas of the parks in the middle of the capital city of the province.

Mother nature is knocking on the politicians door!

Storm Chasing Music

This video is a compilation of clips from past videos taken from 2003 to 2006 across Saskatchewan by storm chaser Jared Mysko. The original videos and website are no longer available due to extreme circumstances. Much of the old footage was saved however using the technology of Internet archives. Still photos are now being recovered for display in a new photographic exhibit beginning April 1st in Regina.

Coffee will be served at Atlantis for guests at 7pm Friday April 1st, 2011 for the first ever public display of Jared Mysko's storm chasing photography. The show will run for the two months of April and May. Framed photos will be made available for purchase and displayed on the walls of Atlantis Coffee. Jared will be on hand that evening to discuss and show off his works.

Status Update: Storm Chasing Photographic Exhibit

Starting April 1st, 2011 there will be a photographic exhibit like no
other, running through the months of April and May at Atlantis Coffee
in downtown Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Photographs taken from 2002 to present will be displayed featuring the
colorful works of Jared Mysko, Saskatchewan Storm Chasing and
Freelance Photographer. These photographs will be offered for sale to
the public for the first time ever. Displayed will be works from
across the province featuring lightning, tornadoes, incredible
displays of color only Saskatchewan, the "Land of the Living Skys" can
produce. Each photograph tells a story more than a thousand words
long so this will truely be an epic experience not to be missed.

The beauty, serenity and energy of these photographs will last a
lifetime. Sharing these works with the public is most exciting and
fulfilling as timeless and cherrished art should be. The future of
this great province is measured by the past and presenting it all
shall stir up many of the dreams and wishes of hungry lovers of art
and history making for a vibrant future as amazing as the magical
storms and skyscapes offer to us.

As there is much work to be done preparing for this one of a kind
exhibit, you may notice less posts on this blog as usual. However, as
summer storm season nears, excitement will begin to peak and new
storms will emerge ready to be captured forever in time. Technology
has improved vastly over the past few years and this may yet be the
most active year ever for wild weather on the prairies. Now is the
time to prepare and be aware. Having said that, it is in no way a
reason to be afraid as the most powerful storms are found on the open
prairie and the usual spots will be where they will be found. Only
the most experienced and trained personell are should ever attempt to
keep a great distance from a major thunderstorm. No one should ever
risk injury or encourage amatuers to chase into a wall of destruction.
Most successfully, keeping great distance and enjoying the serene and
utopian states of the 'calm before the storm' make chasing fun and
enjoyable. Yet, it was by choice that taking 4 years off from storm
chasing brought back some sanity to life itself.
