Oh Men Where Art Thou?

A Call to The Few Real Men of The World

First things first, everyone knows the quote that says “ those that criticize this generation forget that they were the ones to raise it” – While I wholeheartedly agree with this quote, I believe that there is another piece missing to that saying. A piece that explains that even though our generation has its faults because of the way the generation before us has brought us up, there still is no excuse for us to carry on the same corrupt path. - Two wrongs don’t make a right, correct?

While there are a lot of issues with todays society, there is one specifically that I would like to single out and harp on. Men. Where have all the REAL men of the world gone? Are they in hiding? Have they all been killed off?

It just seems like now-a-days men are complete ignorant, selfish, abusive, disrespectful pieces of crap this world has seen. And its only getting worse.

Believe it or not there was actually an era where a man would be strung up by a rope from his neck, and left to die hanging from a tree just for laying hands on a woman. Now, its almost as if it’s a ‘normality’ for a man to mistreat, disrespect, even lay hands on a woman if a man should so choose. ( And this is only one issue with the lack of manliness in our current society.)

We cant afford to let this kind of behavior continue.

– Every Man is a boy, but not every boy becomes a Man.

To be completely frank, it breaks my heart to see so many complete ‘pussy bitches’ walking the streets with no direction, no future, and with no correction – no hope.

My Solution? Lets reflect on, learn from, and put the good ol’ ‘Cowboy Code’ back to good use. Gene Autry very simply and effectively laid it out for us.

1. The Cowboy must never shoot first, hit a smaller man, or take unfair advantage.

2. He must never go back on his word, or a trust confided in him.

3. He must always tell the truth.

4. He must be gentle with children, the elderly, and animals.

5. He must not advocate or possess racially or religiously intolerant ideas.

6. He must help people in distress.

7. He must be a good worker.

8. He must keep himself clean in thought, speech, action, and personal habits.

9. He must respect women, parents, and his nations laws.

10. The cowboy is a patriot.

While times change, I believe that there are a few simple things that should remain the same regardless of what changes around us.

1. Never taking advantage of another person.

Because even on the smallest level, do we really need any more of that kind of crap in the world? We already have enough corporations and institutions trying to take advantage of us, why should we bring it to our personal lives?

2. Making promises and keeping them. Not going back on your word, and never breaking a trust that has been confided in you.

This honestly shouldn’t even have to be said. Everyone knows what loyalty and trust is, and everyone should know that when loyalty or trust is broken, its incredibly hard to earn back. You have a lot more to lose breaking promises and trust than you do sticking it out and doing whats right.

3. Always Telling the truth.

Just like number two, not only does lying hurt people, it breaks trust and loyalty. Like I said before, you have more to lose lying than you do just coming clean and doing whats right. No matter what the cost.

4. Being gentle with Women, Children, the Elderly and Animals.

The definition of “Gentle” is this: moderate in action, effect, or degree; not harsh or severe.

In my books, to be gentle is to never lay hands on, abuse, neglect, or disrespect in any way shape or form. To be tender and caring in action and in communication.

5. Racism.

Its wrong. Don’t do it.

6. Helping people in Distress.

Everyone has their own stuff to deal with, but there is honestly no reason why someone cant take a few minutes out of their day to help someone out no matter who they are. Even the small things make a difference in this world we live in. And do you really want to be “That guy” that just let something unjust, and wrong happen just because “you didn’t want to” or because you had better things to do? – That kind of crap should keep you up at night and haunt you for not being ready and willing to help take care of a fellow human. We are all inhabiting this planet, there’s no reason for thinking that something you are dealing with is more important than someone else’s problem.

7. Being a good worker.

No one likes a lazy, unmotivated, jobless, couch potatoe.

Plain and simple. It makes you look bad, and leaves a bad impression on people.

8. Keeping yourself clean in thought, speech, action, and personal habits.

The boys of the world are who they are today because they allow themselves to have incredibly perverted thoughts, speech, and actions to women, they think they are better than everyone else and treat them accordingly, and have no reservations on telling people what they think of them. This is wrong. There is a time to stand up and fight, verbally and physically, but not when it comes at the cost of degrading, and humiliating someone else.

9. Respecting Women, Parents, and our Nations Laws.

This is a big one, lets start with our nations laws. By living in this country, you are agreeing that you will abide by and uphold the set of certain rules and regulations that your government has set in place for you for your protection. While everyone has their disagreements with certain aspects, for the most part unless you are prepared to take action and try to make a difference, just sit down and shut up, no one wants to hear you whine and complain about something that your not doing anything to change.

Now onto the bigger issue. Respecting women. There are so many assholes out there that have decided that they feel it is “okay” to treat women like trash beneath their feet in their actions, speech, or even thoughts, that they have created a new precedent that “there are no good guys left in the world” Way to go! Intentionally or unintentionally you have done it. I would absolutely love to congratulate (and by congratulate, I mean that I would love to single handedly beat the crap out of every single one of you and set you straight.) you on your achievement, of not only complete disregard of what it is to be a real man, but also making your brothers (blood related or not) Look like crap.

I believe in the equality of men and women, but I also belive that women are to be treated with the utmost respect, not only in action, but thought and speech no matter what they may or may not have done to you, there is no excuse for disrespect to a woman. None what so ever. Part of being a man is knowing when to bite your tongue and suck it up. You pick your battles, and you fight them fairly. (Now, on the other hand, ive seen some women that need a good talking to on how to be a true Lady. There is no excuse for them either, they have their crap that they need to work on as a whole too, But as men, we are held to a higher standard, and we should not only be proud of that standard, but we should be ready and willing to uphold that standard)

10. Be a Patriot.

If you don’t like where you live, pack up and move away. If your going to stay put, be willing to be proud of your country and the men and women that have sacrificed their lives, and continue to put their lives on the line every single day for everything we have today including our freedom.

Like I stated earlier, All men are boys, but not all boys become men. This is a simple call, to every male out in the world, to actually find out how many tried and true men are actually left. We are a dying breed, and we need to in a sense unite, and be the leaders to teach other boys how to be men. How to protect women, and respect - not only them, but their families, elders, and everyone around them. Lets become a society of real men that are willing to fight for what’s right, and not settle for anything less. Because if you don’t stand for something, you will inevitably fall for anything. Its not an easy road, but the satisfaction of knowing that you are one that people look up to, respect, and honor is priceless. We need to step forward, and make a change for the good of the world, before all the true men really disappear.

Together lets make the conscious decision to educate others, to help them understand what it is to be a man, and change the world.

Because if we don’t, no one else will.
