  2. Voxer Hits the Media—Nice story on CNN

    by Mary

Before the holiday Voxer CEO, Tom Katis, was interviewed by CNN at our offices in San Francisco. They were interested in the origin of the “rocketing” viral growth that Voxer was experiencing.  It’s a great story, but also shows that a innovative approach to voice can apply to many different user communities. Because, well, talking is something we all love to do.

    See it here.

  3. Exciting Week at Voxer — We’ve Just Gone Viral!

    December 5, 2011 by Andy

Voxer has taken off in the United States in the last ten days.  With the crazy growth, we have been as high as #3 Overall (and the #1 Social Network app) in the iPhone App Store , and #2 Overall in the Android Marketplace for much of the week.

Our latest releases include a new version of our iPhone App (which of course works on iPad and iPod Touch) and a new version of our Android app (still technically in beta), both of which are rapidly building a strong Voxer community.

In the midst of the uptake, TechCrunch noticed and ran a nice article on our progress. There was also a bit of notice  overseas. All the attention is fun — but having people adopt and love the Voxer platform is the most rewarding thing for the Voxer crew.

And, of course, it means the continued expansion of our dev teams. We are looking for very talented people to join at an exciting time.

Check it out if you haven’t already. And Vox us!

  4. Voxer for Android Now Available

    October 19, 2011 by Andy

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve released our first version of Android for Voxer (version 0.7) into the Android Marketplace.  In combination with our most recent iOS release (version 2.3.2), we are now officially a cross-platform application.  It’s a major milestone for us, and we’re excited to see the growth of Voxer adoption continue!

We will continue to push additional features into the Android version over the next few weeks, but try it out if you’re running Android OS 2.3…and if you like what you see, please be sure to share with friends and colleagues.  It gets better with each person that joins!

    We’ll see you on Voxer.

No other application delivers what Voxer provides: live voice and messaging for conversations large and small.

    September 20, 2011 by Mary

eComm 2011 in San Francisco, as always, showcased some interesting forward-looking propositions. None more challenging than the reality that the world of messaging is in the midst of a massive re-tooling. Tom Katis, CEO of Voxer, reviews the concepts and offerings that put new styles of conversations and new platforms (including Voxer) in the forefront. Check it out.

  9. Voxer Adventures at Northwestern

    November 29, 2010 by Mary

Andy Kelly, our General Manager, visited Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management on November 16th to discuss what it has taken to build RebelVox over the past three years.

His presentation to the High-Tech Club was a bit of a departure from their norm; Andy spent most of his time giving them a bird’s-eye view of what it’s been like “in the trenches” as we continue to develop our flagship product (Voxer) and build relationships across the tactical, enterprise, telco and consumer spaces.

Over 50% of the Kellogg student body (which totals over a thousand) uses an iPhone, making the school an ideal place to test out Voxer.  In particular, the nature of Kellogg’s collaborative environment – where all projects are done in groups – is incredibly well-suited to Voxer’s flexible voice-and-text, 1:1 or 1:many Live Messaging platform.

After doing a live demo (over a combination of a Verizon mifi and Kellogg’s internal wifi) with multiple devices, Andy took time to answer questions:

    • When is Android coming? (Eventually.)
    • How will it work in mixed-device environments? (Really well.)
    • Have you thought about specific enterprise niches (e.g., healthcare)? (Oh, yes!)
    • What do you think of Google shutting down Wave? (“Did you figure it out?”)

For a start-up that’s been running under the radar, Andy’s presentation was both well-attended and filled with fully-engaged students.  We’ve already seen a number of Kellogg students download Voxer and sign up for the service – and even provide feedback.  Great stuff.

  10. Voxer 1.7 Hits the App Store….Download Now

    November 23, 2010 by Mary

Our latest version of Voxer has been released in the App Store. It’s a major step forward for us—faster, smoother, fewer gotchas. We are starting to see adoption across the planet with a few interesting inroads: Kuala Lumpur is a hot spot in more ways than one, it seems.

It’s a great time to refresh your Voxer software or get on the bandwagon.

And, of course, if you use it and like, please share—it gets more powerful and valuable with every friend or associate that joins in. You can send the invites right from Voxer.

If you really like it, “like” Voxer on Facebook. And maybe follow Voxer on Twitter. That way you’ll have all the news.

    Be sure to vox.
