I talk when I talk, otherwise… I’m caught up in my own mind, a TV or writing something down.

The bad part is, I don’t speak up enough at the appropriate times. It’s pretty detrimental at work and most recently, in my personal life.

And for lack of a better way of saying it, here is me listing and bragging about every single task I’m involved with and/or good things I see in myself.

Let the historical record show that I still think this is pretty ridiculous.

1. I work at a TV station.
2. I started my own website.
3. I just started helping out local bands by working at a booking agency.
4. I pay for my own health insurance on time every month.
5. I have no credit card debt.
6. I work out almost every single day.
7. I BEAT CANCER AT 22.
8. I started/write for my work’s Twitter every day.
9. I talk to my parents every day and am proud to say that I try not to cause them heartache.
10. I have voted in every municipal, county, state and national election since the day I turned 18.
11. I’ve written songs that I can optimistically feel people like.
12. I’ve never totalled a vehicle.
13. My job during high school and part of college was taking care of my grandmother every day.
14. I feel like my teachers actually think I’m smart sometimes.
15. I’ve never stolen anyone’s boyfriend. (Just sayin’… it’s gotta count for something)
16. I’m in my twenties and still no babies. (Yes, you can cross your fingers too!)
17. I’m comfortable with my own judgement and cautiousness.
18. I’ve never committed a felony.
19. I’m on great terms with my mayor and try to do all I can in my small town.
20. I’ve lost almost 10 lbs in a month.

This is my boastful list.

I don’t need to say it out loud because it’s internally understood.

My new afterwork crew

So I can now say that I am a proud member of the Graysville Community Center,  3-4 months post surg.

Perks include: 

• watching old people powerwalk
• watching old people play bingo
• avoiding the coldness of the outdoor walking track right in front of my house
• being around old people when i exercise
• being at least in the top 5 of hottiest there
• listening to Iron Maiden, Too $hort and Trina in the privacy of my own earphones while all the old people my Grandma played bridge with look at me with that “Aww, what a nice girl with her working out and her He-Man haircut” gaze in their eye.
• being less than 3/4 streets over from my house, even though I doubt I will walk in the cold.
• OMFG THE PRICE IS LIKE 90% less over the course 0f a year than what ANYONE else pays for Sportplex, the Y or over the mtn rec centers.
• Its open until 9pm (surprisingly) on weekdays

The only downside? Mtn Dew machines as far as the eye can see. Not as beneficial to my overall fitness goals as you would think.

So the stats that I’m starting off with include:

• 17 lb weight gain courtesy of Tamoxifen and other chemo drug side effects as well as being banned from unsupervised workout.
• Haven’t worked out since I taught the tumbling class in Feb/March, but havent worked out to my own personal satisfaction since dance, soccer and track during senior year of high school

Everyone tease me until I’m not huge anymore. That’s my Christmas wish.

anyway, the only news I have to offer is that I’m still poor (non-news), still having toothache pain like crazy (second-go around news) and still not in school.

i don’t see why it’s so hard for people to compute those ideas.
there are broke people surrounding you everyday.
not the “i can only get 1 instead of two xbox games” type of broke, but the kind where i cannot receive medical care or further education.
it’s no longer easy to joke about or proper for people to offer me advice like “take out a loan” or “go to the doctor”.

i deal with pain because it’s the ONLY option. until someone (because my parents sure as hell aren’t) offers actual legal tender towards the much needed oral surgery or a semester of college, I’d REALLY like if you didn’t ask me why I’m not eating today — let’s see, I have $0.14 to my name as I type this– or why I can’t afford to come to your party.

this isn’t anyone’s business, but this is not a saving issue either.

i thought the people around me were smarter than this. i understand you all went to college and had very generous upbringings, but it doesn’t give you carte blance to think you understand what i’m dealing with because “omg i worked at the mall during college”.

i guess it was just me that counted on the @#$%ed up economy to maybe help people understand. i thought the reach was greater and even my most successful friends were suffering. i was wrong.

I got a little better today. I bought specialized drops and a heat compress.
Also, I did laundry.

Damn, this is so interesting.

I have money (very different and positive feeling for me) and I had the day off yesterday. Long weekend ftw.

I’m getting sick of hearing myself talk. Told you guys that when you take away impending doom, I get exponentially less readable.

Kind of wish Chris was up for Speakeasy after the Bottletree show because maaan I feel like getting drunk.

I’ve been very very busy at work (I know, right?). Lots of AWESOME social media stuff and getting lots of hours. Making my parents proud.

Hair is already growing at a ridiculous speed. Guess that’s what happens when your body emerges from death mode and remembers that it’s 22 years old. Haven’t even really been taking my B complex and Biotin supplements as religiously as I did for the past 6 months and this happens. YAY! I was kind of happy with the short love I was getting with people’s visceral reactions though. Oh well. Awkward medium hair stage again all too soon.

My laptop locked up like a weirdo and Ditchell couldn’t salvage any of my files. Not for lack of trying on both of our parts though. Just renews my interest in acquiring my friend Sokol’s MacBook that will be on the market soon and very soon. Having to rebuild my music reserves for the second time in 2 years.

Both of my local blog editors are out of town, so I should find some way to snake my little way into mid-week music posts sometime tomorrow and Thursday on BhamTerminal.com and R3vrb.com.

Now that my hair is healthy and growing back, there’s a silver (err, auburn) lining.

I’m now a ginger.

No really. Black ends, red roots… even with some recent rough news, I can dig it. It’s all pretty funny because I’m a natural blonde, so whatever works.
