Well folks, The Roadshow is official over for 2010.  Tonight was the last night which also means it was prank night.  There were tons of pranks throughout the night, if you were watching on the live stream you probably caught most of them.  If you were at the show, you should have caught them all.  Here are some of the better pranks of the night.

• During FEE a group of people ran up on stage and laid down covering the whole stage.  Doesn’t sound too amazing until you realize that they guys in FEE were no longer able to walk anywhere.  It’s kind of genius.
• During Family Force 5, Bart Millard came out on stage and Dance or Die with Soul Glow Activatur.  SGA then announced Bart as the lead singer for Casting Crowns.
• When MercyMe was playing Move off of their latest record, a group of guys ran up on stage held Bart and tape him to his mic stand.

Well folks, it has been a great year and we will see you all next year.

For the last night of the tour we decided to get a little bit crazy.  If you have been paying attention to this blog, twitter, and/or facebook you’ve probably noticed that we normally give away two tickets to the show.  Well today we are giving away just a little bit more.  This time the tickets are going to include early entry plus a meet and greet with MercyMe.  Now because of the bigger prize the task to get these tickets is going to be a little bit more difficult.  So if you aren’t following The Roadshow on twitter or you aren’t a fan on facebook, you may want to do that if you want a chance to win.

As the roadshow 2010 comes to end we have made tons of new friends and we want to be able to keep in touch with every one of you.  That’s what this whole this is about, community.  So in order to keep in touch, we have created / are continuing The Roadshow Newsletter.  Simply subscribe in the sidebar to the right (under Roadshow Newsletter) and we will send you updates throughout the year about goings on with The Roadshow.  Sounds easy enough right?

There is some exciting news that has been floating around The Roadshow for a while now.  Up until very recently it has really been public knowledge, but now the cat is out of the bag so an official congratulations is in order.  If you haven’t heard the news yet, Francesca and her husband Matt are expecting a baby.  They are both extremely excited about having a child.  Francesca even twittered this morning, “so now that the news is out, I can say it: I can’t WAIT to meet our baby! So many sweet kids on tour, and my heart is melting!”  From everyone at The Roadshow, congratulations to the happy couple.

Being as there are only two shows left on The Roadshow 2010 Tour, things need to get a little bit crazy.  It is time to throw caution to the wind and just go for it.  Today during Family Force 5 there were several beach balls floating around and it gave us an idea.  If it is fun to see several beach balls bouncing around the arena, it goes without saying a lot of beach balls would be amazing.  So here’s the deal, we want as many people as possible to bring in a beach ball to the last two shows on the tour and just throw them around.  But if this is going to happen, we are really going to need your help.  If you are going to the show, grab a beach ball or seven and tell everyone you know to do the same.  If you aren’t going to the show, tell everyone you know to bring a beach ball to the show.  Let’s spread the word and make the last two shows covered in beach balls.  It will be awesome.

It has been a while since I mentioned The Roadshow Flickr to you guys.  If your new around here or don’t remember what it is, The Roadshow Flickr is a place that we send photos to throughout the day for Roadshow-ers to see.  It is a unique opportunity see The Roadshow from the crews perspective.  Make sure you stop by and check out the photos that we have been posting.

It is said every night at The Roadshow, the focus of the night should and needs to be on Jesus.  He is the reason for the music and the production.  He is the reason the artists even write songs.  So it makes sense that at some point in the night we would strip everything down and sing simple songs to him.Steve Fee from the group FEE has the opportunity of leading this time of worship.

For about ten minutes there is only one acoustic guitar joined by the voices of thousands in the audience singing praise to our God.  There is something special and in my opinion, irreplaceable about a time of worship led with only an acoustic guitar.  It is an moment that is not often experienced and I am sure for many people it is unexpected, but non-the-less welcomed.

There is a bit of celebration in order.  Yesterday morning MercyMe met with their lable at a local Hard Rock and were presented with a gold record for their CD All That Is Within Me. If you don’t know, because I didn’t, that represents 500,000 sales.  If that isn’t enough they have also become the first Christian artist to sell over 1,000,000 digital downloads.  The song: I Can Only Imagine.

Congratulation to MercyMe for a couple of major accomplishments.
