The Shack

Every time I hear anyone mention The Shack, I cringe. Big time. Especially, if it is coming from someone at church and they are talking about it like the book is a positive thing.

It also reminds me of this passage of scripture ...

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. Listen, folks ... God is not a black woman named Papa, some Aunt Jemima figure to kiss your boo-boos and make them better. The Holy Spirit is not a Tinkerbell wannabe and Jesus is not this really cool carpenter dude for you to rap with. That book is a fable.

If you have any confusion about this, pick up your Bible and actually read it. It will clear things up for you.

Sorry no bloggie!

I spend way too much time on Facebook and don't look at the news much at all. Plus, I have had a lot of family issues of late. I am too boring to blog right now so you should actually feel blessed and highly favored that I have not bored you silly.

Gratitude may be shown by monetary means. There is even a donate button in the sidebar and I am still raising money for my trip. :P

Fast Food Adventures

I don't do a lot of fast food. If you see me in the drive-thru, it is usually to buy something for someone who is with me or to get myself a Diet Coke. Well, this week I went to two different fast food restaurants and I was not happy with either.

Dairy Queen

Monday, I had to play secretary at church for the afternoon so I stopped by Dairy Queen on the way. I love Dairy Queen's onion rings so I ordered them and a burger. After a bit, I saw the cook put the onion rings up on the tray thing they use so that the front line workers can get them. Well, he put them up there with a bit too much force and onion rings came out of the box and shot across the tray. One even landed half-way on it and half-way off. Another went over the tray and landed on the Dairy Queen bags below. The cooked took some tongs, picked them, up and put them back in the box ... all except the one that landed on the bags. He couldn't reach it.

Can you saw, "ewwww"?

Well, I watched with some interest to see if those were my onion rings and minutes passed and they just sat there. Finally, I got the front line girl's attention and pointed out the onion ring that landed on the bags. The cook heard what I said to her and told her I probably wouldn't want that one. You think?

A few more minutes pass by and finally they call my burger and she goes to put the onion rings in the bag. I get her attention again and explain that I don't want those onion rings. I tell her how they landed all over that tray and he put them back in the box and that I don't want them. I also explain to her that the rings had been sitting up there for sometime at that point. Well, she goes to tell him to cook some fresh and he asks her why. She tells him and he gets nasty about it and remarks quite loudly that it will be 3-4 minutes before I get some fresh ones.

I tell her nicely that will be fine with me, but note that if he had thrown the contaminated ones away in the first place that I would have had fresh onion rings within minutes. They would have actually been done before my burger was.

After a couple of minutes, he put the rings back up on the tray and tells her to "get them out of there." I get my order and notice that I have spare food in my bag. I let them know, give them back what I did not order and head to church. Once there ... I realize that they put ketchup and pickles on my burger and I specifically asked that they not do so.

Sonic Drive-In

We went there that same Monday night. The kids wanted a Sonic Blast and since I didn't have a cake or anything for my birthday, I figured I would get something sweet too. I ordered their new Bundt Cake Sundae. Well, next time you are at Sonic's ... look at the menu and see what it looks like. What you get is not as big nor looks as appetizing. If I had known, I would have just gotten a milkshake.

In Need Of Prayer

I have a situation, y'all. I can't go into much detail ... but I can tell you that I need prayer.

I feel like the enemy is trying to step in and take my peace from me and I don't like it at all. I have been doing so good of late. I have been really focussed on my studies. I have been enjoying Prof. Horner's Bible-Reading System and doing really well with it. I have noticed some big changes in me spiritually. My constant prayer of late has been for the Lord to make me into the person He wants me to be. I want to be that "new creature" in Christ and I don't want anything in me to hinder the Holy Spirit's work in me.

Then this situation came up and I have tried to not let it bother me. I have prayed for this person to have truly made a change in their life ... all the time feeling that if they had we wouldn't even be dealing with the situation in the first place ... but still praying anyway. And, considering some of the things already said and done ... I know nothing has changed. My flesh is screaming to deal with this and my spirit is tired.

I know I can do nothing but give this situation to God. I know this person can really do nothing but cause irritation ... I just don't feel up to being irritated by their childishness or games. The enemy knows who to use in your life and I truly believe he is using this person. The bad thing is he isn't just using them against me. He is also using them to get to a friend of mine as well and who knows how much trouble this person will start before it is over.

Just please join me in prayer over this situation. I have no interest in losing my peace and I know the enemy is not strong enough to take it. That is on me. I also know that I cannot let my old nature step into this situation. Not only would it get ugly, but it would also give the enemy a victory that he doesn't deserve.

Double Woot!

My registration fee is paid! Now, I just have to get up my airline ticket money. I also need a little money for transportation and meals, but I have a couple of months to get that together. I need my ticket money like now ... so I can get a cheap ticket. :P

Thanks to everyone who donated! I appreciate it so much. Hubby is going to do another odd job to help me out and I have been playing secretary at church to help as well. Abortion In The News

George Tiller was murdered Sunday. Mr. Tiller performed late-term abortions and was sought for justice by many pro-life groups. Unfortunately, someone took justice into their own hands and ended Mr. Tiller's life as he performed his duties as usher in his own church.

I don't understand the thinking of his church, or him ... for that matter ... nor do I understand the person who thought it would be okay to enter his church and shoot him down.

Also in the news ...

A stupid girl hired a even stupider man to beat her up and kill her unborn child. It seems her stupid boyfriend told her he was going to break up with her if she did not "get rid" of the baby. So, she decided that her stupid boyfriend was more important than her unborn child.

What is beyond ignorant about this case is that while the girl was charged with first-degree felony criminal solicitation to commit murder and the man was charged with second-degree felony attempted homicide ... people murder babies in the womb every single day and it is legal.

I can't wait to hear what the defense is going to come up with.

Preaching Politics

You know sometimes when I am reading through the blogs I have in Bloglines or in my Google Reader, I realize that the enemy has declared a mighty victory against us. All you have to do is read blogs by Christians that have politics as a primary focus and you soon see that he has us so busy being ugly about partisan politics that there is no way we are doing what we are actually called to do ... which is spread the Gospel.

No where in the Bible are we called to be political commentators.

You can't bring anyone to Christ spending the majority of your time talking smack about every politician who doesn't subscribe to your personal political movement of choice. I am not saying that Christians should never discuss politics or blog about it, but it should be obvious you are a follower of Christ and not your latest political crush.

California Bound

I just got notified that the July Ambassador's Academy has been cancelled. *pout* But, I am so in on the August Academy and have been informed by Tony Miano that they won't be cancelling it! So, California here I come!

If I can get my money together quickly, I may even save some big bucks on my flight. Whoo hoo!

Prop 8 Upheld

A lot of things have been said today about Prop 8 being upheld. Some of it has been real ugly ... on both sides. I think the best comment I have heard and read came from Tony Miano ...

While I am glad the California Supreme Court has upheld Prop 8, I do NOT believe a single heart will be turned to God through legislation. And to any professing Christian who plans to take to the streets today to celebrate a political victory, remember this. God has commanded you to fight FOR the souls of people and to LOVE your enemies. Evangelize the lost. Don't politicize them. Preach the gospel!

Amen! Gloating and acting ugly does not become anyone nor does it endear you to those you are supposed to be reaching for Christ.

Ambassador's Academy Update

I am so pumped! Today I have $414.00 of the $1100 I need to go to Ambassador's Academy. That is not bad at all! I have only been taking donations for a week and I am just a little less than $200 away from being able to pay for my registration fee.

I am still taking donations, but I went back to the original PayPal donation button. The other one was too bulky, plus it wasn't always reliable.

Feeling Better & Worse

Well, I forgot to blog about my going to the doctor after my trip to the ER. I waited days for them to call me and let me know if all those tests showed anything and they didn't. All they would really say is that it looked like I had a kidney infection and they wanted me to come in.

I went in and they checked me out. My blood pressure was low and I wasn't feeling really well at all. But, they said I did not have a kidney infection and they couldn't find anything wrong. So, I went home a bit depressed. The episodes weren't going away and I was feeling like the doctor wasn't taking me seriously at all.

Suddenly, it dawned on me that I had read something about blood pressure issues and chest pain being a side effect of my newest anti-inflammatory, Relafen. I called my Rheumatologist and they confirmed that it could have me feeling that way and suggested that I stop taking my meds for two weeks. No meds at all. I wasn't too keen on the idea, but figured it was going to be the only way we would know if it was my medicine.

And, it is.

The episodes have stopped. My blood pressure has returned to normal and the chest pain has went away. Unfortunately, I am stiff as all get out and in some serious pain. I am tip-toeing again for the first hour of the day and my body has stopped cooperating with me. It totally and completely sucks.

I am going to call my Rheumatologist and let him know tomorrow and see what he wants to do. I really liked that anti-inflammatory. It really had a handle on my inflammation and I was feeling more flexible and able to move normally on it. Hopefully we will be able to find another one that works just as good but doesn't create havoc in other ways.
