ABBY POWELL

Abby Powell is a dark horse in the operatic world. She sings based on her connection to the text/story at hand and does not believe in typecasting. She considers is a great privilege to invite the audience into her imagination.

JULIE FOTHERINGHAM AND JARRYD LOWDER

Julie Fotheringham performed as a dancer/acrobat in Cirque du Soleil before coming to New York to make her own work.  Here she has shown her movement based performance pieces in various venues including Dance New Amsterdam, Galapagos Art Space, Monkeytown, and Judson Church.  Julie was featured in The L Magazine’s “Ten Names You Need to Know in NYC Arts” issue in Sept. 2009.  For more info. go to www.juliefotheringham.org

Jarryd Lowder is an artist working with electronic audiovisual media (integrating forms such as video, sound and music) primarily for live performance.  His performances and other works have been presented in the US and countries such as Spain, France, Japan, Finland, Korea and the Netherlands.  At the School of Visual Arts MFA Computer Art department, he works as an instructor of studio classes in Video and Sound/Music.  For more information www.jarrydlowder.com

SIDRA BELL DANCE NEW YORK

Sidra Bell Dance New York (SBDNY Inc.) is a New York City based contemporary dance troupe presenting innovative, provocative and kinetic dance theater works. Sidra Bell is an emerging and sought after voice in contemporary dance with a strong female vision creating work that ignites the imagination and explores the complexities of the human condition. The company’s repertoire features pieces that are simultaneously haunting, emotionally transporting, complex, dynamic, articulate, sensual and highly physical. The company has become known for unconventional, forward-looking works that push past dance’s traditional vocabulary, venues, and boundaries. The vocabulary is risky, elegant, fantastical, and darkly romantic with original themes and larger than life characters. MATTHEW CHIU

Born in Toronto, Canada, Matthew Chiu is a freelance dancer and choreographer. He has trained at the National Ballet School of Canada, The Australian Ballet School and the Ailey School. Mr. Chiu is currently a company member of “The Francesca Harper Project” and also works as a freelance fashion stylist and designer.

MARI MEADE

Mari Meade Montoya was trained at Haller Classic Ballet and New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA). She graduated from University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2009 with a BFA in Contemporary Dance, and was awarded the Betsy Friday Scholarship.  At UNCSA, she was selected to perform as the Rancher’s Daughter in Agnes de Mille’s Rodeo, and with Larry Keigwin, Janis Brenner, and Sarah Skaggs. Currently, she dances for Dana Salisbury and the No-See-Ums, and works with  Barbie Diewald and Amanda Hinchey.  She also leads her own company, Mari Meade Dance Collective (MMDC). They have performed at Lincoln Center Institute, WaxWorks, S.W.A.N. Day (Supporting Women Artist Now), Hatch Performance Series, SITE Fest, ArtSplash, AUNTS Roadshow, Fertile Ground, YoPro Variety Show, STEPS Performance Lab, Amalgamate Artist Series, 60×60, First Layer Festival, and DNA WIP in NYC and Inhale Performance Series in Philadelphia.

ANTINO CROWLEY

Antino Angel came to NY at the start of the millenium to pursue modeling. He fell behind the scenes in fashion working as a stylist instead. From there his latent passion for art and performance progressed until his alter ego,XXPLXT ANGYL was eventually born. XA is a shockingly vulgar,hyper-sexual club performance artist in the tradition of Wayne County,Leigh Bowery,Genesis P-Orridge,and Grace Jones. His act consists of everything from sexual taboos to blasphemous and sacreligious imagery. He currently performs in NY,but will be touring the club circuit in Europe this summer.
