My next few ‘What I’m Rockin‘ posts will pretty much be an ode to how much I’ll miss summer. Although we didn’t have much of one here in Chicago, we did get some 80+ degree days and sadly those days are not returning anytime soon.

When that is the case I learn how to make the best of the semi-good weather days we do get and try to stretch it out as much as possible. This Joie dress was the perfect way to eek out a cute look for a busy Saturday.

Sassy Peach photog Chuck and I set out to check out Hyde Park’s newest, beautiful cafe, Plein Air, on the University of Chicago campus. If you live in the area or happen to be in the area one day, it’s definitely a place you should check out. It became the perfect backdrop for some rather nice photos if I do say so myself.

Paired with this cool dress are these nude sandals I got from Agac’i on State St. on my birthday. They were on super sale–I’m talking $7.99, $8.99–something crazy like that. How could I say no? Nothing haunts you like the stuff you didn’t buy and that was not going to happen to me.

This fashion season I have become slightly obsessed with matching sets. I remember when I first laid my eyes on a matching top and skirt on my new favorite online store, Necessary Clothing, and how I had to order it right then and there.

There’s just something about an overload of an awesome graphic print or floral pattern that really catches my eye and draws me in. My experience wearing this particular look from Agac’i solidified how I felt by the gleeful reactions I got.

I must confess this outfit here is not my only matching set. I actually have 2 more–woe is me. See? I told you I was only slightly obsessed, although that can be argued as just flat out obsessed. But who’s counting, right?

A fun, swanky dinner at the beautiful and newly renovated W Chicago Lakeshore hotel (which I’ll bring you more on in a future post) was the occasion I first wore this floral set for and I must say it was the perfect place to do so! I just love when your look and your location come together. I call that fashion synergy.

In case you haven’t noticed the 90s are back and I couldn’t be happier about it! I’ve been getting the nostalgic fuzzies lately seeing the clothes I wore as a young girl come back into style. My Mom used to tell me fashion always comes back around and boy, was she right.

I was happy to jump into a pair of overalls again for old times sake and I can’t say that I won’t keep wearing them, even after this 90s redux is gone. While they do cause some issues such as these my boo Luvvie talked about, I can ignore all of that in the name of fashion and fun.

What I love about overalls is that they can not only be dressed down but also dressed up. Throw on your favorite top (or bandeau) and cute sneakers or heels and you’re done! Cute and quick–two things I love when I’m putting a look together.

As I’m typing this I’m already planning how I can wear my favorite new overalls yet again. You’ll be seeing me in these again and again so I hope you’re ready!

Ever since last summer I had been wanting a bike so very badly. As soon as Chicago crawls out of winter weather oblivion the city lights up with people being outdoors more and that definitely means just about everyone is on a bike. So, this summer I finally took the plunge and bought the cutest/coolest bike ever!

If you follow me on Instagram, you got a peek at it last month. I couldn’t be happier with my new baby and I am always ready to take Tangi (what I named her) out for a spin. Of course, as a professional stylist and fashion blogger I thought “What would I wear while biking?” I of course want to be practical but still fashionable and true to my style.

I kept things “peachy” with this adorable top from Necessary Clothing and cut-off shorts I grabbed at TJ Maxx. The cute and comfy floral shoes are form Target and voila I had my biker look!

Happy July peaches! This year (and summer) is flying by rather quickly, right? What better way to kick off a new month and a bunch of new fun coming here to The Sassy Peach than with an outfit post? You all love them and I love showing you my style and hopefully giving you outfit inspiration.

This oldie but goodie dress from J. Crew gave me a real laid back, cool feel. I love the long tulle overlay with the skirt underneath. What I really enjoy is how it can dressed up or dressed down.

I see it done up with a topknot, pearl accessories and heels but also dressed down with a cute pair of kicks.

My awesome shoes are by JustFab. They are definitely one of my go-to places for on-trend, affordable shoes. I am all about the chunky heel right now. The days of a skinny, stiletto heel are dwindling for me and I just want to be comfortable, yet still stylish. If you’re looking for the same I definitely recommend trying out a chunky heel!

My Chicago friends get ready because media powerhouse PopSugar has partnered up with Simple skincare to bring you a fun and free wellness event this weekend!

Passport to Healthy Skin takes place Saturday, June 7 from 11am-3pm in Millennium Park’s North Promenade. While there you will be able to partake in FREE fun such as de-stress massages, yoga sessions as well as sample healthy recipes. You’ll also be able to try out Simple’s healthy skincare products and top all of that off with a goodie bag of products! Sounds like a winner, right? Right!

Every now and again I like to throw a wrench in things and completely change things up. This look to me (namely the hat) is doing just that. With my short “Halle-Berry-in Strictly Business-esque-cut”, I normally wouldn’t dream of wearing a hat like this for fear I’d look like a little boy. But this look was weighing heavy on my mind, so I decided to go for it.

The hat is by dynamic duo, Faarow, two Somalian sisters who are literally bad asses. If you haven’t heard of them go get you some, because they are awesome! I will work with them and style them one day just gonna go ahead and put that out in the universe!

The rest of my look is really simple. I love black–my secret is out! The plaid shirt adds just the right amount of color and I kept things sassy of course with the tall boots which are one of my favorite scores from DSW‘s clearance section. A complete retro 90s look that I’m loving and hoping you are too!

I’ve always been a believer in following your dreams and pursuing what you most desire for your life. I’m still a dreamer to this day and don’t know where I would be without the possibility of my dreams and what could become fueling me forward day in and day out.

Lupita’s statement, “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid,” is just so very true. Your dreams do matter and it doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you’ve been, if you dream it, go after it. You don’t have to wait around for anyone to validate them.

As you jump start your day today, try not to get bogged down by the dreaded start of yet another Monday but look at it as another day you’re able to chase after what it really is you want.

That of course also meant a new post, duh! This look is something new I tried. The idea popped into my head and I ran with it as I usually do when it comes to how I style.

When I saw the sweatshirt with my initial in leopard it was a done deal. Then I saw the shoes and that was clearly a done deal also. I absolutely love leopard and it goes with pretty much anything as far as I’m concerned. To edge it up I added the fishnets with OTK socks over them and to add some uniqueness as well. I love the way it turned out!

1. She can slay a red carpet – When Lupita hits a red carpet all eyes are on her and rightfully so. Her style is just effortless and has garnered her spots on just about every ‘Best Dressed’ list.

2. Her skin is flawless – I mean, just look at this picture. I’m not discounting the fact that her makeup is done for red carpets, in magazines, etc. but for the most part I’m convinced she’s been blessed with some awesome genes. That coupled with a kickass skin regimen = flawless! I’m jealous.

3. She wrote, directed and produced a documentary - Not only is Lupita an amazing actress, she’s also a talented filmmaker. Her documentary, “In My Genes” tells the stories of people living with albinism in Kenya. We’ve definitely got a multi-talented woman on our hands and I’m not mad about it at all. Check out the trailer below.

4. She’s helping change the face of beauty - With societal norms and the images of beauty we’re bombarded with everyday, I think she is helping change what is seen as beautiful. A woman that looks like Lupita is not what you would normally see in mainstream advertising and magazines. With her being in the forefront at the moment, I feel that she is truly a breath of fresh air.

5. She has Jared Leto in the palm of her hand – Now you may not be with me on this one, but have you seen the pictures of these two? (Exhibits A-Z are below) He is mesmerized and you can’t convince me otherwise. They are adorable together and I love it! And who wouldn’t want to have Jared Leto in the palm of their hand?

Ever since my dream room makeover, I’ve been into home decor and decorating so much more. My favorite element to have in my home is a gallery wall of some of my favorite prints and posters. I think I can fully confess now that I’m obsessed! I love waking up or walking into my apartment and seeing the things that make me smile, feel good and/or motivate me.

Rewind to last night when I was perusing Instagram and stumbled upon a new Etsy print shop. I have so many favorite shops on there that I’ll probably do another post on that alone, but this one I had to share now. It’s a new shop called Politic Ditto and the prints they have are pretty awesome in my opinion. The one above caught my attention right away as it probably did yours which is why you’re reading this now!

It’s a new year so grab yourself a print and enjoy! You never know, if you’re having a rough day or are unsure about starting a project, it may be just the thing to keep you going. Or at the very least, it will always make you smile.

New outfit post, obviously! Today I want to share with you all this cool t-shirt I got locally here in Chicago. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it and lucky for me all I had to do was walk around the corner to Sir & Madame’s new Hyde Park location to grab one!

The shirt is by curator, designer and art enthusiast Maya-Camille Broussard of The MCB Project. Maya recently launched The MCB Shop where you can find this exact shirt I’m wearing and more.

I don’t know about you but when I get ready in the morning or buy something I new I plan out exactly how I want to where it in my head and I can’t rest until I do! It may be just a stylist thing, so who knows!
