Easy, though, my friend, with your conclusions.You have gotten in touch with an experience of awakening of the libido and of the powerful psychic energy that makes one recapture one’s own vitality. However, if you remain only with the libido, with no serious infrastructure of feelings and values, everything breaks down and collapses devastatingly, sooner or later.

Learning to differentiate the expressions of feeling is of capital importance,to avoid a dangerous existential bifurcation and destroyng one’s own life. Between the authentic conjugal love and the pure and simple eros, in their initial manifestations, there is not much difference. Physical attraction has more to do with the “Chemistry of senses” – instinctual elements, often with evolutionary purposes, implicit in the genetic program of the body. But often the genuine love also hides behind the first flurry of sensations of the initial moment of an encounter.

How to differentiate: one is only sensory and emotional, the other wakes up high moral expressions of the soul. If someone makes you a better human being, more useful, more centered, more in control of yourself  helping you develop potentials, as well as overcome limitations, you will be standing before love.

It will not be love, though, if you cannot devote trust, tenderness, feelings of friendship and dedication to the person who is the object of your attention. Feeling disgust, shame, fear or distress, next to the source of attraction, is also a warning sign. No one feels aversion to what will really do one good and to what one has a nuclear connection through the spirit. Nip the evil in the bud, my friend, if you realize that what you feel is just a torrid and charring physical attraction to someone – this order of passion is dangerous.

However, if you notice other factors promoter of psychological integration, transcendence and wholeness arising, between the folds of feeling, go ahead, invest heavily and bet on your happiness.

Through the study of your mental states, you will have clear clues of what you should do for your happiness. There comes a time when the obvious becomes more obvious and the individual realizes that one always had, very close by, the answer to everything one wanted, and simply did not think to break with cultural, emotional and egotistical rules that prevented one from seeing his own path of bliss. 

Get rid of all pretension, of all thought of supremacy, of superiority, of all wish to look better or greater, and, at the same time, preserve the impulse of growth, progress and spiritual realization. This way, you will reach the level of perfect balance that we suggest exists: the true platform for happiness. In this subtle plateau lies the point of perfect harmony, for your soul to express itself with no tensions, no distortions, and no torments, free, pure, real, and whole.

Do not seek to fulfill expectations; do not aim to fit into pre-established schemes. Listen to the deep voice of your consciousness. Not the superego’s ideal of hypocritical puritanism, but the supraconsciousness that suggests peace and happiness to you, in the natural flows, ebbs and interflows between the energies of the body, mind and spirit, with no worries, no disguises, no requirements, no terror, but, paradoxically, with passion, with life, with soul…

Stop, now, your inner drama: of demanding yourself to be what you are not and doing what does not correspond to the true vocation of your spirit. The Spiritual Master Eugenia Comments on the Passage of the Gospel:

Often we find in Our Master and Lord Jesus this attitude of waiting for situations to reach a limit of irresolution, so that He can fully manifest His Condition of Ambassador of the Creator for the Earth and His moral ascendency over physical, psychical and human elements of the planet.

Still noteworthy, in this gospel passage: Jesus is not impressed by the appearance of finitude of possibilities (the news of the girl’s death), in a universe of infinite possibilities, as presently revealed by particle physics.

“The girl sleeps” could be understood as “the girl is disconnected from the spiritual reality” – in contraposition to the concept of “awake”, meaning “the Buda” –, as we all find ourselves, in different levels of childishness of the soul, before the great truths of Life.

Frequently, we do not see, like the child’s parents and the Apostles perhaps (this is why Christ says: “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”), how to revive the ideal’s flame that seems to us dead and extinct forever… And suddenly the Master, Present in the name of God, specularly, in the Voice of our own Consciences or of Those who represent It, accompanied only by the matrixes of the psyche, that is: the two basic psychosexual poles of the unconscious (“the girl’s mother and father”), as well as the three apostles more in tune with Him, because they could not only understand Him, but also assist His healing’s energetic effort– personifying in them the powers of resilience of the human mind –, brought back the motivation and the soul from the lost idealism, symbolized by the girl, returning her to life and also to movement, because the words “began to walk around” give us note that there is no legitimate ideal that does not turn into meritorious action.

The age of 12 years, as being the typical period of menarche, translates to us the idea of fertility that follows this moment of cure and how Jesus, like in the passage of the “Fig Tree”, appreciates not only the attitude of action, but mainly the production of good.

He severely warned not to boast His glory, to demonstrate that the real inner posture of those who align with the Supreme Good is not of showing off an alleged condition of superiority – that is: it is not by the ego that one reaches the great achievements of the Spirit –, but rather moving away from the state of idolatrous astonishment to the benevolent service to others, sharing with others through the practice of fraternity, the Divine Grace that has been received. In contrast, upon arriving at the house of the girl’s father, he also strongly reproved the reverse emotional state of those in the ambience: of vicious lamentations for what apparently had no solution.

Finally, the Christ, with the perfect efficiency that was peculiar to Him, offers us the lesson of not being bothered by the laughter of those who disbelieve our potential of doing good, ordering all to leave – not giving them, any citizenship in their own Mental House – and moving on, immediately, to the room where the young lady’s body lays lifeless: our languid and fragile souls, before the reviving touch of the Sublime Spirituality…

(Spirit Eugênia) – The human mind is made up of active powers, though subliminal, which few creatures on Earth are able to access, in a normal state of consciousness. Nightmares, emotional outbreaks of anger or jealousy, falling in love, getting intrigued with someone, worshiping a public, historical or even domestic figure, etc. – all of them are ways to project the forces, the layers, the unknown (but not necessarily asleep) mental patterns that claim for manifestation, although the mind’s conscious level does not understand the reason for them to be, when it – at least – knows of their existence. Myths, stories, legends, the pursuit of the art as a mean of expression and channeling of those powers – that is what we came here to talk about.

(Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar) – And what would you have to say about this?

(SE) – I would like that, for a few moments, our reader thought about how bizarre and absurd the behavior of Islamic fanatics seem, and how they show off their weapons, proudly and happily, in videos recorded just moments before suicidal terrorist attacks. They seem to face death with joy, preen of their act of savagery and folly, as if they were doing something good to mankind, in the condition of martyrs. To which extent could our readers say they are superior in autonomy of thought and opinion, in relation to those unfortunate young people? How can one guarantee that, having been born in that environment, in that precise socio-cultural context, one would not assimilate and unfold, in that same proportion, similar tendencies of ideology and radical positioning, before the issues life brings on? Who would be naive enough to consider one truly self-sufficient intellectually, emotionally and spiritually, to the point of not suffering and not being today a resultant of vectors of cultural and genetic influence, in a perhaps frightening percentage? There is the free, eternal spirit that undergoes specific organic and social contingencies to develop itself, either by absorbing their influences or reacting to them. But what percentage is there of authentic creation or of genuine free will of the individual? How many times what seems to be a strictly personal impulse is nothing but the end of a long and complex web of cause-and-effect, in the individual’s familial and cultural interactions, with his historical and even biological context (the body also influences the spirit, as much as the spirit influences the body)?

On Earth, people do not consciously create – with honorable exceptions – the narrative of their lives. They are not the owners of their destinies; they let themselves be dragged, especially when they have the illusion that something “has got to be” or that “it has always being that way” or that “there are no alternatives or solution for it”. It is true that common sense frequently reaches conclusions formulated on similar statements, but, often, what is seen as the voice of common sense, is actually the introjected voice of consensus, the opinion of the majority, the voice of the traditions, the local, familial and national culture, the standards of expectation to which someone feels compelled to correspond, although they have never stopped to ask themselves whether any of these match their higher ideals, their own nature, their way of being, their most basic needs and even the most rudimentary principles of logic and direct observation of facts. That is: it is common to see people living in a universe of fantasy, forgetting to observe reality, fascinated by the elaborated way of these cultural fallacies, myths constructed with specific purposes, under certain historical circumstances, almost never suitable to the interests, values and necessities of the individual.

(BTA) – What to do in face of that?

(SE) – Fight the status quo. No one should submit to the tyranny of convenience, normality and routine. Let’s break the habits, fears and the need of not contradicting real or imaginary figures of power. The father, the mentor, the idol, the lover are not divine figures. It suits well, here, the reminder of the biblical condemnation of idolatry. It is common for people to value symbols of status and belonging to a community above their most sacred, deep and true impulses. Authenticity, then, is sacrificed in the name of the integration to the social group, and the individual goes on like a robot, feeling like an outcast of himself, to avoid being considered an outcast of society.

In a post-modern and post-industrial civilization, in which many nations have already entered today, this perversion of values no longer makes sense, because if it’s always been reproachable to appreciate more the external than the internal, today it is simply unnecessary (at least in more organized societies), since there is space for all types of subculture, within the dominant culture of majorities. Hence, with a little effort of courage and transparency, the individual can safely manifest his originality to the world, therefore giving his unique contribution to humanity, as a legacy of a well lived life, always useful to the existential “travelers” of future times, including himself, in a future life, in a higher level of consciousness, structured upon the complexity of the previous level, in a more advanced and subtle stage of organization and meaning.

(BTA) – Impressive concepts.

(SE) – Accurate, at least for the level of understanding of today’s humanity. Therefore, may each one strive to dissect the deeper layers of oneself, doing a psychological work of mining, similar to an archeology or even a paleontology of the soul, discovering, thereby, relics of past “cultures” (past reincarnations) or even the evidence of deep cultural roots (of vices, paradigms and tendencies still in force, but rooted in past experiences), and, finally, fossils of great traumas and anguishes of this and other physical or extra-physical lives (intermissive periods between physical lives, in the astral dimensions of the planet).

(BTA) – People tend to consider this kind of reasoning, at least, mystical or vague.

(SE) – They should sound out their tendencies and tastes. The order of books and films they like. The type of cultures they feel attracted to; and, in a reverse way, what causes them spontaneous or compulsive repulsion, hatred and aversion. Not in a literal sense of these suggestions, but assuredly, in a figurative sense, since that their likes and aversions are clues to the underlying nature of the inner being. Therapy, the study of dreams, the reading of distinguished authors and to seek advice from experts and specialized consultants will undoubtedly be indispensable tools, along with meditation and prayer: indispensable.

(BTA) – There is no short way for a work of this scale…

(SE) – No, there isn’t. If the body consumes twenty years to reach adulthood, how someone, in good conscience and with subject knowledge, will assume that, in just a few years, all the enigmas of one’s soul will be solved? One must understand that this is an endless work, yet gradually compensatory, as one progresses in its development.

If you pay attention, you will notice so many benefits along your life in the form of health, opportunities of working and being useful to the common good, that you will easily conclude that only the ego and its fantasies of greatness and attachment to what is transient (to which is already dead, even though it does not seem to be) favor the ideas and feelings of unhappiness, anguish, fear and scarcity.

Everything is relative to the viewpoint. One can feel poor or wealthy, ignorant or wise, fortunate or disgraced, depending on the chosen angle of observation. Why then, not to choose the best?

Clearly, with such assertions, we would never be agreeing with or encouraging accommodating and negligent postures. Each creature must work, with responsible commitment, for the improvement of his and his peer’s living conditions. However, in this culture of complaint, non-satisfaction, envy and misery – both material and moral – it is necessary to highlight this perspective of the pattern of perception and evaluation we decide to use in relation to ourselves and to the others, as well as to interpret external events, from the most ordinary ones, from everyday life, to the most cyclopean ones, in the macrocosm of sidereal creation.

Decide to be happy, friend – today, not tomorrow; now, not later. Make plans for the future, but do not forget the essential: focusing your attention on the present. Lastly, that in this strategy of focusing on the here and now, without forgetting what is far away and yet to come, transforming what is close in a safe cornerstone for what is distant, you are able to find the fundamental match of values and principles to the spirit of goodness and solidarity, following, at the same time, the compass of your conscience and the winnow of your personal vocation that will point out, without visceral errors, the route of humanitarian, professional, familial and spiritual ideal you should follow to reach the enjoyment of happiness since now, but with progressive steps towards the infinite Tomorrow we all have ahead of us, notwithstanding the unpredictable setbacks (a natural occurrence) that surprise us here and there, on the path of existence and evolution, since we (and the pillars of our lives) will be firmly backed by the solid rock of the wisdom consciousness level – the “Truth” to what the Christ referred when He asserted that once we found It, It would set us free… forever, from the raw yoke of our afflictions, so that from then on, we could only see challenges and stimuli to advancing, growing up, learning and becoming happier!…

(Spirit Eugênia) – I am going to reinforce some key points, some well-worn out (even here, on this website), and new ones:

We should remember that this is the symbolic celebration of Jesus’ birthday (*), therefore, the Christmas tradition of giving presents and exchanging “wishes of peace and happiness”, often done so mechanically, if not cynically, is not exactly what the Christ expects from us. Sincerely focusing on the spirit of harmony and fraternity, in all interpersonal relationships we entertain with others, must be a constant in this period, so that we get used to this pattern of conscience and extend it to the rest of the year.

On the other hand, Santa Claus was put in the place of Jesus, so that the collective unconscious renews the mistaken idea it made of the Greatest Master, in the course of centuries, linking him to guilt, castration, fear and bitterness. Thus, “Father Christmas” represents the amiability, serenity, optimism and the happiness that should permeate not only Christmas but every day of the year, as a mysterious representative of Jesus himself, who wants the bliss and fullness of His children, speaking to the “child” side of all of us – that is: spiritual and pure – (that’s why Santa Claus is a myth related to children and not to adults, who laugh of his pseudo-existence for the little ones). This way, we should, in spirit and truth, in purity of intentions, openness to the new and to forgiveness, be similar to the “simple and little ones”, as Jesus said, or we will not enter in the “Kingdom of Heaven”.

(BTA) – Is it spiritually wrong or anti-Christian to take part in the modern tradition of exchanging presents?

(SE) – Not at all, when such thing is done from the heart. Additionally, in certain cases, the gesture of giving a present already represents a conciliation or even a demonstration of caring. Not only, it is difficult to demonstrate affection and true intentions of reconciliation, as the simple fact of making the effort to buy a present for someone, remembering them and wishing to please them is already a strong indication that we have the intention to be kind with them.

(BTA) – Could you say something about charitable activities during Christmas, which some call hypocrite because they do not happen during the rest of the year?

(SE) – Observe attentively those who raise such arguments and you will see contumacious critics, with no moral ground to base their thesis. It is easy to point out flaws and to oppose any good initiative. Difficult is to do it better and be persistent in such enterprise. Only those who do it better have the right to judge and yet, always in the sense of presenting constructive criticisms and, even though, not suggestions that may lead to the abandonment of the good work, because, obviously, every good intention begins hesitantly, in time, consolidating itself; and only a fool would assume that someone could become an ace of sanctity in one day, that is, living Christmas 365 days a year, instead of starting slowly, with one day or some days a year, so that in the future, and very gradually, they can extend this action of love to the rest of the year.

(*)Jesus was not exactly born on December 25th. This date was used to celebrate the winter solstice (Northern Hemisphere), a very famous celebration in ancient times, which was “Christianized”, as to speak, in a kind of marketing plot and cultural and political manipulation of the early church, by linking the image of the “Sun god” to the image of Christ, diverting the attention of the masses from one to the other, until it completely overshadowed the first, to the point commoners were fully oblivious of the original meaning of the celebration, which has been happening for centuries.

Not by chance, Saint Augustine once said: “Sin brings men closer to God”

Do not be complacent, try to become a better person, but never surrender to cults of self-deprecation. Because, my brother, ultimately, you are a son of God. And as such, you shall never feel banned from His Love and His Light. But rather be aware that, even though you make mistakes, you will continuous and inevitably be followed by His Endless Kindness, which will envelop you in blessings of peace and renewed opportunities to start over, whenever you show the subtlest impulse to emend and find new ways to work in the field of love.
