How to Download Fonts for Use in Storybook Creator

So you have created the perfect digital photo project. Now you are looking for just the right font to complete the project. When you use Storybook Creator (Plus), did you know that the program will use any font that is saved to your computer? What does this mean for you?

It means that you can download new fonts and use them with your Storybook Creator program. This is so exciting! I was always told this was an easy process but it seemed overwhelming to me.

So I have created a step-by-step guide for myself as a reference and thought I would pass it along to you, just in case there is someone out there that would benefit from this too.

One of my favourite sites is called DaFont, which is a font site which allows free downloads, there is no stealing, you can give a donation however for the font you have selected to download.

This was important for me. This site has a vast selection of different fonts for all occasions, holidays, styles, etcetera, with new fonts being added too. I hope you enjoy finding and using your new fonts for your digital photo projects as much as I do.

Go to the website DaFont.
Choose your font and click on the download tab.
Next, choose the save option, this will make a permanent copy of the file to your machine.
Next, choose open folder option. This will bring you to the folder where your file is saved in your computer.
Your new download will be highlighted, right click this and select extract all as currently your file is compressed. Then hit extract.
Right click the TTF (True Type Font) file, then click install.
Now you’re done! Your new font will now show in your font list. Enjoy your new font!

Creating a great sports scrapbook album can be a fun way of preserving great memories for many years to come. Such a scrapbook album can be created for either a child or an adult, and can capture many of their big game moments. Not only can a sports scrapbook album capture the memories for a single player, it can also capture the great moments for an entire team.

There are many tips that you can utilize the enhance the storytelling, and appeal of your sports scrapbook album. I will cover many tips that you can utilize in this post.

Creating that Great Sports Scrapbook Album

There are many tips that you can research online about creating a sports scrapbook album. Everyone will have their method, and can easily add their personality into each album they create. I will provide some tips that I think will add some uniqueness to your scrapbook album, as well as provide a great way of telling the entire sports story

Supplies for a Sports Scrapbook Album

A great sports scrapbook album starts with the right supplies. Good scrapbooking products are made to ensure the best longevity for anything that you create. For a sports scrapbook album, I like to choose the All Star 12×12 Coverset. This coverset has a lifetime guarantee, contains a leatherette cover, and allows me persona imprint on the spine.

A good complement to the All Start 12×12 Coverset is definitely one of the Sports 12×12 Additions. While not all sports are covered with the additions, if you are create a scrapbook for baseball, basketball, or soccer, then you should definitely checkout the additions to add some embellishments, and storytelling to your album.

While the products are high-quality, the most important part of creating a sports scrapbook album is how you go about and create one. Below are some tips that I like to utilize when creating such an album.

Tips for a Sports Scrapbook Album

You can use the following tips to help you create a great looking sports scrapbook album:

Choose a color theme that matches the sport you are scrapbooking. For baseball, perhaps green, brown, and white may work. For basketball, you can use orange and brown. You may also want to include the colors of the team you are scrapbooking.
Sports seem to have basic shapes associated with them, whether it is a diamond for baseball, or rectangle for soccer, or football. Maybe shapes that match the balls that are used can be incorporated.
Find and use embellisments for the sport to decorate your scrapbook pages. The Sports 12×12 Additions include many different embellisments that you can utilize.
In addition to embellisments, you can also look at create borders with some of the objects from the sport you are scrapbooking.
For your journaling, you can use quotes from famous athletes that invoke a particular memory. Athletes are well known for their quotes, and performing a quick search online will yield a lot of results.
If you know the sports stats, you can incorporate them on a page. For an individual, you can make a particular page look like a sports card, with their photo and season/career stats.

Digital Scrapbooking Software for PC and Mac

While traditional, paper scrapbooks are still very popular, using digital scrapbooking software has begun to gain traction. Over the past few years the increase use of digital cameras has created a need for creating digital versions of scrapbooks.

I still enjoy creating traditional scrapbooks, and the fact is most of the scrapbooks I do create are traditional, and not digital. I do, however, enjoy the freedom that digital scrapbooking software provides simply because I can organize, and edit my digital photos easily and effortlessly. Whether you use a PC or Mac computer, there is a software package that can work for you.

Digital Scrapbooking Software Options

Much of the digital scrapbooking software that is available today is created to run on a PC. While the PC is still the dominate computer, there are still many scrapbookers that enjoy using a Mac. Below are three applications that can be used on either a PC or Mac.

Memory Manager

When creating scrapbooks, whether traditionally on paper, on on a computer using digital scrapbooking software, the important thing that needs to be done is to organize your photos. There are many ways to organize printed photos, such as boxes and labels, but for digital files you will software that can organize your photos.

A great solution is Memory Manager. This application allows you to easily organize all your digital photos, and also add journaling to provide a story for each photo. Regardless if you obtain an image from a scanner, digital camera, or CD, Memory Manager easily allows you to organize your digital photos.

In addition for photo organizing, Memory Manager also provides you with the ability to perform photo editing such as color correction, red-eye removal, and cropping. No need for a separate editor to make corrections to your digital photos.

Once you have your digital photos organized in Memory Manager, you can then use those same photos with the next application: StoryBook Creator Plus.

StoryBook Creator Plus

Once you have your digital photos organized, you can easily create great looking scrapbooks with StoryBook Creator Plus. This is a full-featured scrapbook creating software that allows you to create a scrapbook in any way you like.

All the photos that you have organized in Memory Manager are fully accessible within StoryBook Creator Plus. This makes it easy for you to find the photos you need to create your scrapbook.

StoryBook Creator Plus allows you to easily add embellishments, text that can be wrapped around images and objects, and of course, easily drag and drop images into scrapbook page templates. The number of unique pages you can create is endless.

There are many different scrapbook templates that you can use with StoryBook Creator Plus that you can use for any special occasion. This software can be installed and used on a PC, for a similar software package for Mac, check out sbcStudio.

sbcStudio for Mac

The above three software packages allow you to organize, edit, and display your digital photos on either a PC or Mac. These are just three examples of digital scrapbooking software.

Photo Safety – Creative Memories and ISO 18902

Many individuals have asked over the years why they should choose Creative Memories products over others that cost less. The answer for me is simple, photo safety.

Creative Memories is the only company that I know of that actually complies with the photo safety standard ISO 18902, which is the international standard of photo safety requirements for albums and storage materials. Another thought to consider, did you know that the scrapbooking industry is not regulated, and companies can and do take advantage of consumers and mark their products as photo-safe even when they are truly not.

I’m in Love with the book “Full of Love” by Nancy O’Dell

I must admit I was a bit of a skeptic with the newest book from Creative Memories, Nancy O’Dell’s “Full of Love” but I was blown away. I love the easy way it was written and the book is full of great ideas for my future scrapbook projects. Nancy also explores the importance photos and albums play a role in the development and confidence of happy children.

This book is not only a great addition to my collection but I also think it would make a great gift for other scrapbookers (Christmas shopping anyone?).

Creating A Scrapbook Album Makes A Wonderful Hobby

For many people creating your own scrapbook album can be lots of fun. You will be able to design each page with a touch that means something to you. Collecting pictures or photos you can display in the album will certainly bring back some wonderful and cherished moments from each page of your album. However, when people first start out making their album they run into an over whelming amount of things that you will want to add to this album but they really do not know where to begin. When you are ready to begin with this project you may want to consider making some scrapbook layouts as they always seem to make the album more authentic looking. Remember to always use acid free products which shall help to stop the pages and or photos from ever becoming discolored and also from deteriorating from over time.

There are plenty of scrapbook enthusiasts who will only use acetate. Acetate is a plastic film that many of these enthusiasts use as it can be used for several applications. You can also stamp into your scrapbook with the use of a rubber stamp. You could also paint acetate with some glitter glue or glass paints.

Be sure to use the correct adhesives whenever you want to make scrapbook layouts This will help to avoid pages from ever sticking to one another. Some of the very common crafts adhesive will have double sided tapes, glue sticks and glue dots and also photo stickers. You can also use brads and also eyelids to help secure any embellishments for all of the scrapbook layouts that you choose to place in your album. These brads are known as a very important part of supplies for the scrapbook.

These brads come in a large variety of shapes, colors and designs. These brads have two prongs right on the back of them and are pushed straight through your scrapbook paper and then it will be flattened out so it can hold in place. A wedding scrapbook album is one of the most popular types of albums that are created, and there are many different scrapbook ideas that you can incorporate into yours. Being unique with your wedding album will help to make it stand out to those who view the album.

With the rush of a wedding, it can be easy to forget some of the smaller details that made a wedding special. A wedding scrapbook will help to remember the special moments, whether they were solemn or humorous. A scrapbook for a wedding starts long before the actual event.

When thinking about ideas for the wedding album, it is important to go back in time, and capture many of the moments that led up to the actual event. Some of these moments may include the following:

First Meeting. Talk about how you first met, where you went, and how you felt. Perhaps you can include pictures from around that time to see how you two changed since then.
Dating. You can include this as part of the first point, but you may want to include pictures and a short story or two that explains your road together before the engagement.
The Engagement. You can start the album at this point if you wish. You can include details about the engagement, such as the time and place, and what you were doing during that time. If possible, include items and photos that can help tell the engagement story.
Wedding Preparations. Preparing for a wedding can be hectic at times, so scrapbooking as much of the preparations as possible will help you to enjoy what went into making the wedding special.
