Joy2Christmas Gallery Slideshow and....

As I write this blog post, I'm sitting in my office watching YouTube videos with my hubby and oldest daughter. (Little one is in bed...it's 10:48pm).

Taylor Swift is my current fav...her song Love Story touches my heart and reminds me of when hubby and I met (he was 18 I was 16).

I also love Taylor's You Belong with Me. My oldest loves to mock me with this one....I was the band geek in high school and she is the varsity cheerleader. ;) If you aren't familiar with these, look them up. :)

I'm excited to share this slideshow with you. Christmas is a very special time of year for my family and I love looking at the great cards you all created! The slideshow is kind of fast, but don't forget, you can see all the creations in the gallery by clicking here.

On another note, remember when I mentioned my little one's hair for her dance competitions? Well, here's a photo...

This isn't the best picture (taken with my iPhone), but it shows what I have to do! It's FIVE huge rolls of hair. NO CURLERS! Just hair, gel, hairspray and bobby pins. Can you say CRAZY?!?!?!

I'm not good with hair...I'm really not. So, I got creative...I cut a toilet paper roll into thirds, gelled the hair like crazy and wrapped the hair around it and pinned it in place. We let it dry for three hours and then carefully pulled the tp roll out. NICE! I'll get a better pic when she competes again. :)

Gift Idea for Your Carpool Kids or....

So Forgetful! Yikes!

Sometimes, life gets REALLY busy. So busy, in fact, that you forget to do things you always do. Like picking up a kid from school, or eating lunch. (Yes, I forget to eat lunch all the time...I don't think I've ever forgot a kid, but you'll have to ask one of them...) {grin}

So, what did I recently forget? Well, to choose Gallery Winners! Yikes! So, today, I went to the Joy2Christmas Gallery {Wowsers! There are some GREAT ideas there!} and I randomly chose a clear stamp winner and a gallery winner. And, here they are....

In other news, my two daughters each had competitions this last weekend.

The older one, the cheerleader, took second place on Saturday and first place on Sunday! Go, Aliso High School Varsity Cheer! :)

The younger one, the dancer, took first place on Sunday! Go, SouthCoast Freestyle! :)

We were proud parents this weekend! I'll look for some pictures soon to share Katie's hair do. It's INSANE! :)

Happy Thanksgiving 2009

I have so much to be Thankful for. I have been blessed with an incredible husband, two beautiful daughters, parents that have stood by me through thick and thin, and a great group of FRIENDS!

I count all of you as one of my blessings. The last few months have been AMAZING! Not even in my WILDEST dreams did I expect to be doing what I'm doing right now. I am so happy! :)

It's almost Thanksgiving! One of my favorite days of the year! I love getting together with family and friends to count our blessings and EATING! ;)

Another Episode of a 30 Second Card

I'll be honest. When I first started this video series, I did think I could make a card in {about} 30 seconds. Yes, I really I thought I could. :)

Little did I know...

1. How popular this series would be.
2. That I have NO concept of time.
3. That I can make people laugh....(but is it AT me or WITH me?!?!)

So, without anymore waiting, I present the next episode...ok, you have to wait one more moment... I have to say, I've also learned to NOT use pigment ink when taping my 30 second card video episodes. You'll soon see that pigment ink is S-L-O-W to dry. (That's why it's a decent embossing ink...)

So, if you try this at home, don't use pigment ink. Really. You'll soon see why....

Color Challenge Time!

Announcing.....

November Color Challenge TSOLC02

This month's colors:
Rose Light (Light Pink)
Rose Dark (Dark Pink)
Intense Kiwi (Bright Green)
(These color names are Prism Papers Colors names. You do not have to use Prism Papers for the challenge).

Let's take our Christmas Cards to the next level with these non-traditional colors!!!

The November Color Challenge begins today! Players
will have until the 28th to post their cards using any of The {Stamps} of Life stamps or digital images to the Challenge Gallery.

Players must include TSOLC02 in their upload titles to be entered to win a
December release stamp set (US & Canada) or the November release Digi set and their choice of another Digi set (International players or US players can choose 2 Digi sets instead of stamps). Random winners will be announced on November 30th.

Winners will also have their cards featured on The Stamps of Life blog! Good luck!

Hi Everyone!

I've been so busy calling new Club Members! I love visiting with the new members and I'll be honest, I lost my voice when I woke up today! ;)

I received the most adorable email the other day from Vicki Martin. Once I saw the adorable project she was sharing, I immediately asked her if she would allow me to share it with you all.

It's almost Halloween! Are you ready?!? {I'm not!} :)

It's so hard to get ready for Trick or Treaters when it's 85 degrees outside! I think fall weather decided to leave us alone in Southern Ca!

On a personal note, my daughter's Homecoming Dance was a success! I was the photographer for about 30 kids at a private party {ON the BEACH!} Fun! One of my daughter's friends was kind enough to take our picture....{I wish I could share with you WHO took the picture, but I have to sleep in the same house as my teenager and I'd fear for my life if I told you!} {grin} ha ha...{BIG grin}...

New {Free} Project Tutorial!

Life is busy at our house! Between calling new Club Members, I'm busy getting my oldest daughter, Kirstin ready for Homecoming season. She's now a Varsity Cheerleader at our local high school (3200 students!), so she's busy with her team creating posters, banners and getting the 'perfect' dress for the Homecoming Dance. (Ahhh...to be young again!)

In Stamping News, Design Team member, Vicki Garrett has created the most adorable Paper Pieced Pumpkin Card Tutorial. She took photos for each step, so you can follow along!
