Fifteen year old Erica is a fabulous blogger and baker over at The Teenage Taste.  Her assignment this month was That Skinny Chick Can Bake by Liz.  And what a pairing this was!  Erica says . . .

“I was beyond thrilled to be paired up with another baking blog. Immedaitely upon recieving my assignment I began searching through Liz’s archives for something to strike my eye. Bad idea. I must have spent a a few hours deciding because there were just so many things that I wanted to make!

Eventually I decided on the Blue Cheese Gougères for three reasons.

1. I love blue cheese.
2. I had never had a gougère before and was curious!

Jamie who blogs at Our Eating Habits received Danielle’s blog, Delicious Existence for her SRC assignment this month.  Jamie loves to cook, bake and find great places to eat.  She looks for the best in food as she believes no one, including herself and family, want to waste calories on bad food.  Danielle is a Holistic Health & Wellness Coach Lifestyle Motivator and encourages her readers to take it a step further and look beyond the plate.  Focus on relationships with family, friends, and significant others, as well recreation, career, and spiritual practice, all which provide nourishment.  Jamie says . . .

Suffice it to say that Jess over at the Inquiring Chef is popcorn challenged.  Thank goodness for her husband Frank coming to her rescue.  It wasn’t caramelizing the cashews that challenged her, it was the popping of the corn.  She admits she is impatient and yet, somehow, she burned the first batch. I know I’ve had those days.  You?  Well, of course, we all have.  Her blog assignment this month was The Freshman Cook by Teri who writes for the beginning cook, but who has lots of depth and breadth of experience in the kitchen.  Jess says . . .

“And when, after a few fails, a bit of cursing, and an ever-patient husband who saved the day, I at last produced this finished snack, we literally could not keep our hands out of the bowl.  It is not overwhelmingly sweet.  Just a hint of sweetness really.  But the crisp salty popcorn with the crunchy caramel kiss of those cashews… well, they turn out to be the perfect pair.”

“Erin from Making Memories had me looking at her page for weeks, I couldn’t decide what to make for this month’s reveal. Erin has an interesting blog filled with fun ideas for things to do with your kids, including some very yummy looking recipes. I found amongst it all a recipe for millionaires nuggets, and thought it looked like my sort of affair. Caramel-y, gooey, sweet, covered in chocolate…maybe some marshmallows in there too. Betsy who blogs over at Betsy Life received Suzanne’s blog, Thru The Bugs On My Windshield for her SRC assignment this month.  Betsy is incredibly creative and energetic (does more before 8am than I do in, well, more time than that).  She’s been a waitress, a television producer, a bookkeeper and has a degree in fine arts.  Whew!  This gal uses both sides of her brain, no doubt!  She started her blog to further channel her creative energy and her love for writing and photography into something tangible.  And, after all of this, she possesses an amazing positive attitude. Betsy is an inspiration in so many ways!  Suzanne, well, what can I say about Suzanne.  She’s crazy, fun, loves her family, loves to travel, and loves her furry kids.  Suzanne is well-balanced.  And for those of you who know her/me, you are now ROTFL!  Betsy says . . .

“I was excited to be assigned to her, but kind of disappointed that the assignment fell within my busiest month ever. I have been non-stop  crazy work for the last 4 weeks, which didn’t leave me a whole lot of time to poke around on Suzanne’s blog. I was telling my friend Katie that I had to pick a recipe, so SHE started poking around and suggested these skewers…..among other things. She kept messaging me “oh wow, this looks good! What about this? Yum!” I think Katie is now a lifelong reader.  Anyway, the skewers were awesome! The Hubs loved them, they were spicy, yet refreshing, and I’m sure I’ll be making them again.”

Melissa from Smells Like Brownies received Salamayalarai: Cooking is Divine by Jayasree for her SRC assignment this month.  To some (read *to me*), Indian dishes haven’t always been common place.  However, these two ladies present it in such a way that anyone would be ready to jump in and make this dish a part of their next meal!  Melissa says . . .

“I decided to expand this dish to include a few other vegetables as well, making it even more similar to the khorma I enjoy so much. I hope I didn’t compromise the integrity of the meal too much by tinkering with the ingredients! All I know is that I sure enjoyed it.”

“Debby blogs over at A Feast for the EyesWe share a few things in common– for one, we are both married to “Craig’s” and we are fortunate that our husbands are willing to clean up the kitchen, in exchange for our cooking.  That’s very fair!  I had to toss a coin between making the Enchiladas Suizas (I’ve been on a Mexican food kick as of late) or the Pork Tenderloin with Roasted Grape Sauce.  I was fortunate to find seedless red grapes, so which recipe to choose was finally settled.  I’ve always meant to roast grapes, and this was my chance to scratch that off my recipe bucket list.”
