Vancouver filmmakers have until February 10th to impress Cinework's panel of judges with their application, which must use a specific section of dialogue from the original film as inspiration.

On Saturday, CBC Manitoba will be airing a collection of short films curated by Winnipeg's own short film aficionados Joy Loewen and Brendon Sawatzky. If you recall, Loewen is now the curator of Exposure Film and Sawatzky just moved over to the NFB offices in Winnipeg.

And tease they certainly are.  There's a whole slew of festivals that don't open for a month, but two opening this week!

Today, NSI posted the list of Canadian short films invited to the Toronto International Film Festival.  We look forward to watching how these films stack up against cross country programming.

Festada 2011 news ought to be forthcoming, but you'll have to be a little patient.  We don't expect any big announcements for a few weeks, fall out from the postal strike last month.
