I have been so bad about blogging about our daily life here and it's really been bothering me. Seriously my ALMOST 3 YR OLD (WHAT??) has been keeping us ALL on her toes. Let me just start off with a little rant.

I literally came 3 seconds from losing my mind with the potty training. We started in July and I really felt like she was ready. She loved the potty, and loved showing us she peed, etc.. so we stuck with it. I never fully gave into BIG GIRL panties. Pull-ups and I were best friends. It was like she was still my BABY but she had progressed to pull ups from diapers so hey.. I mean... we were trying here. I feel like maybe I just wasn't ready to let go of my baby, which possibly held her back? I don't know what it was. Some of my friends kept giving me advice saying "Brittany! Just take the plunge! Accidents will happen.. but just put her in big girl panties, and don't look back!" Maybe it was me wanting her to stay a baby longer, and part of it could have been I really didn't want to clean pee out of her clothes, car seat, and my car every time we went somewhere. So.. I was scared. I think I was as scared as she was about the change. Whenever we got home from Kentucky I promised myself, and Erik that I was going to FULL on start the process. We kept kept kept reminding her of the potty, taking her and preaching to her, and she was still having accidents. I was so bummed, stressed, and started to feel hopeless. I would just break down in tears and ask her why she didn't want to go to the potty... etc.. I know, ALL MOM'S GO THROUGH THIS. I just didn't want to MAKE her do something she absolutely didn't want to do. It hurt my feelings too... So, I decided not to push it. Erik's grandma has been with us since we got back to California and I told her that I wasn't going to stress over it anymore. So we started the reward system. I never MADE her go. I simply took her to the potty and if she said she didn't have to then I let her go play. Whenever she would go to the potty I would reward her with stickers and candy and clap my hands and everyone would ooh and ahh over how wonderful it was. After she started going more and more I put her in the big girl panties and didn't look back. It's been a complete 5* days with NO* accidents and ALL big girl panties!! 5 days may not seem like so long but I think it is WONDERFUL, and an amazing accomplishment! She is now telling me EVERY time she needs to go pee and poop in the potty! I know stressing about things and worrying does NO good. Sometimes you just need to let go, pray, and let God take it all into his hands. It's so crazy how much being a mom teaches you.... it's amazing how much my daughter teaches ME, every single day. I am so blessed. There is NOTHING to worry about because there are many people out there with so many struggles and I just need to suck it up and be the BEST mom I can be.

So for rewarding our panty wearing Princess for her new accomplishments... we took a trip to the Disney Store. Here she is with Daddy excited about her Tinker Bell and Beauty and The Beast figurines, and cool Toy Story art set:)

...and she has even started coloring inside the lines pretty well!

We have went on MANY outings including church, the mall, and the movies TWICE with big girl panties on and NO accidents! (Let's find some wood to knock on;)!!!)

...and Nana and Papa even sent her some prizes for being such a little lady:) This was in the mail the other day and we about died at how cute it all was! And Mamaw and Papaw got her a new pink cowgirl hat!!! :)

She is our sweet little bundle of joy!

...but still so rotten! (She accomplished this while I was on the phone with my cousin.)

If there is ONE thing I am certain about....

She is the reason for every smile on Mommy and Daddy's faces:)

Christmas afternoon/night, and a plethora of other things!

I am STILL doing Christmas posts. It's taken me a while to fully leave the Holidays behind. I just took my tree down two days ago, ha! I've been busy!!!

Christmas afternoon we all got our comfy clothes on and headed out to my Grandma's for a Christmas lunch:) It was so good! Mialyn had a blast making cupcakes with Aunt Bicki, and she even painted Erik's, and my Dad's fingernails hot pink. She got some extra presents from Vicki including make-up and if you look closely you can see her pretty blue eye shadow lol:)

After my Grandma's we headed up to Erik's parent's house to open gifts and to spend the night. We had lots of fun watching Mialyn react to all her new things! She loved the doll house:) That was so sweet of Mamaw and Papaw. I am pretty sure she got every piece of furniture they make for the house. I got it all together and situated for her and she decided she would rearrange it and make it "her own" (of course, why would I even think it would stay that way) lol :)

Next up... the day after Christmas Mialyn and Gage has a sweet little tea party together! It was adorable:)

Here are a few more pictures in no particular order of the remainder of our stay in Kentucky:) We spent new years day and Jeremy and Beth's watching the UK game and letting Mialyn play with Raegan and Hallee:) She had so much fun!

We spent some time with Erik's aunt Kellie at her house and Mialyn had a ball!

Now we are back home and settled in nicely. We've had fun at the zoo, shopping, we've said some horrible goodbyes to Mialyn's friend Matthew because he will be gone for 4 months to NC, and most of all we have enjoyed a WONDERFUL time so far with Erik's Grandma who is spending a month here with us:) We have a weekend trip to San Fran planned for the 1st weekend of February and Erik's aunt Kellie is flying out here to go with us as well:) We have so many fun things to look forward to, and tons of new things to tell you all about, so stay tuned!!! Here are a few pictures since we have been back in California!

Christmas Eve Night & Christmas Morning

Christmas Eve night we had dinner at Erik's grandmother's house with the Silvey side of the family. We had so much fun! They are such a small close knit family and I love being around all of them! We laugh non stop when Erik's uncle Anthony, or Aunt Kellie is around, and they all treat Mialyn like an angel, and for that we are so so grateful!

Christmas Eve night we spent the night at my parent's house. We baked cookies for Santa, and we put out some magic reindeer food so it would light the way to our house:) Mialyn had so much fun!!!!

Part ONE of many...

We just got back to California yesterday after a nice long stay in Kentucky for the holidays. We had SUCH A FUN TIME!!!!! I took so many pictures so I am going to have to break it up into MANY posts. I decided I would start with 2 days before Christmas, and Christmas eve with my side of the family. I knew I had to see some of my favorite girls this time around, so we met and had lunch at the little restaurant in our home town we all used to work at together. We have all been the best of friends since middle school, and I love them dearly. Morgan (The one I am sitting with is due ANY day with a baby girl, so keep her in your prayers!)

The day before Christmas Eve Tommy and Andrea brought Gage over to play at my parents house and boy they had a blast!!!!!! Mom and Dad let her open a couple presents early so that they could leave the rest for "SANTA" to bring on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve we spent the morning with my Dad's side of the family and had a big breakfast!!!!! Later that evening we spent time with Erik's family for dinner. Here are some pictures from my family's breakfast, and I will pick up on the next post with our pictures from Erik's family dinner. We are so grateful we got to spend so much time with the people we love. We were truly blessed this Holiday season!!!

From Thanksgiving to Christmas

I have been so behind, yet again. I cannot seem to keep up with the blog and a 2 year old at the same time ha:) It's a job (that I LOVE) :):). Our Thanksgiving was definitely not traditional. We didn't get to go home for Thanksgiving because we will be there for a little over 2 wks for Christmas so Erik was just not able to take off that many days. It was still a great day! The weather was so nice that day so we spent a lot of it letting Mialyn ride her bike and just playing outside. We had homemade lasagna and beer bread for dinner and it was so yummy! At around 6 we headed to wal-mart to wait on a few black friday sales that evening. We just let Mialyn run around, read books, and play with toys while Erik was in line for her power wheels. Before the madness started at 10 I took Mialyn out to the truck and we took a little drive while everyone was fighting, ha! It turned into a really great night, and Black Friday was my birthday!!!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and such a sweet little girl!!!

We are leaving in exactly ONE week for Kentucky until January 5th!!!! We are so super excited!!! We've made many stops to see Santa to let him know that we wouldn't be home for Christmas and asked him to please come a little early this year! He definitely did, and Mialyn went crazy! She was so excited!!! She left him a cupcake (her request) instead of cookies lol and a big glass of milk!!! Santa was awfully generous! Mialyn had a blast!!!

(We've also been doing a lot of UK basketball watching! Ha!)

We can't wait to see everyone! Counting down the days!!!! :)

Disney Land!

I know I am behind. I have been such a bad blogger and I have a couple things to catch up on so I thought I'd start on Disney! We had a complete blast!!!! Mialyn ran around like a wild woman most of the time and enjoyed every single thing this trip!!! We had breakfast with Minnie, Tigger, Captain Hook, Chip&Dale, and many more the first day we were there and she LOVED IT (big understatement)! It's always such an amazing time at Disney! It's unforgettable! Another day we also had lunch at Ariel's Grotto with all the princesses. Mialyn enjoyed it so much!!! It was amazing to see her little face light up but oh so expensive. I couldn't believe our ticket afterward, especially with how horrible the food was... but we enjoyed ourselves and Mialyn was happy so it was definitely worth it!!! The rest of the week we rode rides, shopped, watched shows (She loved the disney jr show!), enjoyed downtown Disney and ate some wonderful food. Mialyn's favorite place to eat is Rainforest Cafe and she asks for it by name on the daily. We ate their twice within the 5 days we were there but we all love it:) If you are ever in the area and love some southern style bbq try out Lucille's! We also ate there twice (choice of the hub) ... so YUMMY! All in all it was a WONDERFUL trip!

I am a little behind on blogging. We spent all last week at Disney Land but that is a whole post in itself, so I will start out with our family pictures! We were so excited to work with this photographer after looking at her site, and her blog! I fell in love with all her pictures and knew she would do a great job! She was so fun to work with! Jaime Hough is someone I would HIGHLY recommend!

We leave Sunday for Disney Land and will be gone a whole week, and then we leave Dec 18th to go home to Kentucky so we decided it was best to go ahead and get our Christmas stuff out so we can enjoy it while we are here:) Mialyn LOVES all the Trees, and decorations! I have tons of stuff I haven't taken pictures of but here are just a few!

Feathers, Serious Cuteness, and Sneak Peek!

We had a great morning!! We woke up early so this Mommy could go get her hair done which was MUCH needed. Erik was going to stay home with Mialyn but they both decided to come and I am super glad they did. My crazy husband was having some weird life crisis and was wanting me to get pink highlights in my hair. He is so odd and that is one reason I love him, Ha! Needless to say, I absolutely did not go pink due to my hair being so blonde and the fear of it bleeding.. BUT I did get a feather! Mialyn has wanted one ever since Erik's boss' daughter got one back in the summer so today we let her pick out which one she wanted:) She picked the one just like Mommy's!

I thought it was so sweet!!!! ... And here she is before we left this morning!!! It was in the 50's and rainy which is the first real rain we've seen since we have moved here! She was carrying her little umbrella and Erik caught this with his Iphone. SERIOUS CUTENESS!

We had family photos taken last weekend and I can barely contain myself! I am SO excited to see them all! Here is a little sneak peek of my little girl! I know I am a bit partial, but c'mon... She could be a model:) lol!

Halloween! Halloween! Trick or Treat....

..OUR COSTUMES CAN'T BE BEAT! (Mialyn sang this ALL weekend long! She has the Dora Halloween movie memorized!)

We had a BLAST this weekend!!!!!!!!!! Sunday and Monday we celebrated Halloween! Sunday evening we took our Little Mermaid to the mall for their trick or treat with all the businesses in the neighborhood! We had a blast!

Monday Mialyn and I spent a little time together and then had lunch with Sarah and Matthew at this little Thai restaurant in town. Mialyn is SUCH a picky eater so I was kind of down about them not having a kids menu and was thinking I would have to go get her a Happy Meal or something when we left. I tricked her into eating 2 Spring rolls! She thought they were breadsticks so I never said a word:) I was proud of her!

Monday was when all the real fun began!!! Mialyn was changing her mind ALL day about who she wanted to dress up as so we ended up with Snow White for our local church festival! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! There were inflatables, chili boats, cotton candy, popcorn, cake walks, TONS of candy and so much more!!!!!

Since Mialyn was indecisive all day I let her change into her Cinderella costume when we got home from church for our actual trick or treating! We had some company and enjoyed chili, candy, and laughing hysterically! This honestly was my FAVORITE Halloween!!!!! Mialyn loved it SO much and it was such a blast seeing her so happy and wild! I couldn't have asked for a better Halloween! (Unless our parents/friend from KY were here with us!)

Happy November 1st!!!!!! My birthday is in 24 days!! WOO WOO!

Seriously?? This is Mialyn a year ago???

...and two years ago???

I hate that she is growing up so quickly but it's so fun to look back and see how much she has grown and how she has became such a sweet 'LITTLE GIRL':) I cannot wait to look back next year and see all the changes! Time slips away so quickly, and I am so lucky I get to spend as much time as I do with my girl! We are definitely ready for Halloween this year!

Bike Riding 101

Seriously??? My baby girl is BIG enough to RIDE A BIKE?? Are you kidding me???? I couldn't even believe she was big enough to reach the pedals!!! As soon as we put her on it she took off!!! (With training wheels in tact, come on! She's TWO! lol!) But honestly... this is just another mile stone... Mialyn is really becoming a "little girl"... blows my MIND!

I like when people ask me "Where did you get that cute outfit?!" I take a lot of pride dressing my daughter. I too - am one of those Mom's who dressing her kid up all the time even though I look like a bum. I can't help it! It's too cute!!!!!

My #1 place that I buy clothes from is ETSY. I love it! I always find reasonable deals and just search for whatever Holiday I am looking for, or Monogrammed toddler clothing, etc.. They even have the most ADORABLE Halloween costumes I have ever seen! Mialyn was a lady bug last year and it was so precious!

I DO have a FAVORITE ETSY SELLER! She is amazing to work with, ships fast, is VERY reasonably priced and her quality is fantastic!!!! The shop is called GIFTSEWFINE :) She is so talented! She is always adding new looks for every season! You WILL NOT be disappointed I promise you! PLEASE I encourage you to check out her shop! Don't see something you like? ASK HER! She will make you something amazing!

I am also a fan of MUD PIE! They have the most adorable "boutiquey" clothing for a fraction of the cost! I LOVE this brand!!!

I also love BELK! They always have GREAT sales and you can get cute little outfits for nearly nothing!!! My mom and I definitely get our money's worth there:)

I am a BIG fan of Ebay, Zulily, and I LOVE local boutique stores if I am feeling "splurgy" :)

Our Weekend

Thursday Mialyn and I were bored so we headed to Fresno to Fashion Fair to do a little shopping. We had a great time together! We went to the Disney Store, Mialyn played in the fountain, and we got some great deals! She looked so girly and sweet that day!

Is it bad I can't remember what we did Friday? I am pretty sure it was a normal day of running errands, etc..

Saturday we got up and ready and decided to take Mialyn to the pumpkin patch! Little did we know that it was going to be 101 degrees that day. It was miserable... but Mialyn had so much fun and that is what counts:):):)

Sunday we went to church and then stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch:) We relaxed and got things ready for a little cookout with Erik's boss and his wife and 2 kids:) Mialyn always likes to have them here. I didn't take any pictures on Sunday except for one that Erik snapped before church:) It was a good day!

The Movies!

Saturday was a BIG day for us! Mialyn had NEVER been to the movies, and although Erik and I both have, we had never been TOGETHER. Weird, I know. So after 3.5 years of being together Erik and I decided it was time for us to go, and that Mialyn was finally at the age where she would actually sit there and enjoy it:) SHE LOVED IT!!!! I am a HUGE Lion King fan! It was one of my favorite movies growing up so I was so excited to take her! She was soooo intrigued the entire time and kept talking about all the animals and how big the "TV" was! lol:) We had a ball with her and we cannot wait to take her back!

Home Sweet Home:)

Last week Mialyn and I spent the entire week home with our family and friends in Kentucky! It felt so good to be back HOME where we could enjoy the small things in life, and take in as much love as we possibly could!!!!!! We arrived Saturday night and my parents kept Mialyn while I went to dinner with some close friends who were having to work all week. (We also made a pit stop to see Brody Luke and Lea Liz!)

On Sunday morning we went to church and then headed out to my grandma's to see everyone!!!! We had a blast! Mialyn made cupcakes and cookies with Chloe and aunt Vicki, and had tons of fun with silly string, riding the four wheeler, and running around like crazy!!!! I miss Sunday afternoons with my family SOOOO much!

Sunday and Monday night Erik's parents had Mialyn to spend some time with her. We had to do an even split to keep it fair haha:) I had the camera while they had her so I didn't get any pictures of them but I KNOW she had a blast! They had a picnic, played at the park, spoiled her with ice cream and cookies, and just had a blast!!!!!

I spent Monday night with my favorite cousin Wendy who is now 14 weeks pregnant!!! They are so excited!!!! They went through years of infertility and finally got pregnant through IVF on their very first try!!!! We had a blast eating good food, talking about baby names, and catching up on things I've missed out on since I have been gone!!

I finally got my girl back on Tuesday and we had dinner at Erik's grandma's. It was AMAZING as usual:) And We always love getting to spend time with her!!! We went back to my parents Tuesday night and had fun playing until we went to bed! Wednesday morning we woke up and headed to Red Lobster, and to the mall so Mialyn and Gage could go crazy in the Disney Store! We all had so much fun!!!

Thursday we spent the biggest part of the day at home and then headed to Wheelersburg for some yummy food at Sakura. Mom and Dad had never tried Hibachi before so it was fun! They loved it, and Mialyn slept through the ENTIRE thing! We got home that evening and spent some much needed time outside!

We left Friday morning bright and early for the airport. I was so sad to go but excited to get back to my husband!!!! We miss home SOOOO much and cannot wait to go back!!!!

San Fran

We spent the 2nd part of Labor Day Weekend in San Francisco! It was so much fun!!! We loved it! We shopped, spent time at the farmer's market, had some great food, enjoyed the scenery, rode the cable car, seen the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, froze our butts off, and seen my dream as a child... The home where they filmed "Full House" :) We decided if we could, we would live there. We were in Heaven!

Labor Day Weekend Getaway Part 1: Monterey Bay

Last weekend was a long weekend so we decided to take Mialyn somewhere fun!!! We headed to Monterey Bay on Thursday and had a blast! We took Mialyn to the world famous aquarium and it was truly amazing! We really enjoyed it!!! The fair was also in town so Mialyn enjoyed the rides and even got to ride a REAL pony! She was so excited!!!!!! Friday we headed to San Francisco for a couple days but that's a post all it's own! Here she are a few pictures from Monterey!

Apart from our weekend we have been having fun this week around here!!! We've met new friends and had TONS of fun playing in the water since it's been SOOOO hot!!! 100 degree weather in September is insane. California sure isn't Kentucky that's for certain!

Wild Adventures Water Park

Erik has been gone on a work emergency for a few days and just got home tonight. Mialyn and I have had tons of girl time but we missed daddy so much!!!! I wanted to take Mialyn to do something fun to keep both of our minds so we decided to head to a water park! We had never been there and it was honestly so much fun!!!! It was HUGE and had so many things for Mialyn to do! She was so brave and would slide all by herself! I was such a proud Momma!
