WordPress has a well-built feature called “shortcodes” – small snippets of code that allow the user to create additional functionality in posts or pages. Some of the most common shortcodes relate to things like adding columns to content, adding images from YouTube and Vimeo and adding portfolio styling to your gallery pages.

A new theme doesn’t NECESSARILY mean new content

I have a bad habit when designing sites for clients – I tend to refer to them as “new sites” rather than “new themes” and thus I confuse people.

When you have a website powered by WordPress, your design and your content are two different entities. Your pages and posts remain the same even if you are changing your design. All of the content you have worked hard on stays exactly as it is even though your layout, menus and widgets may change.

Your new theme may offer you new options design-wise, along with additional ways to highlight or showcase content, but the content of your pages stays the same until you decide to change or edit that content. Your highlights, bold, lists, blockquotes may be styled differently, but the content will remain static.

How to Destroy your PR Company in a Day

This has got to be one of the most spectacular professional and personal flame outs ever! I’m pretty sure that Ocean Marketing (or OceanMarketting – two T’s in their first Twitter name), now OceanStratagy (with two A’s in their current [as of 1:30pm CST] Twitter name) is about to sink!

At first, I thought it must be a joke – no legit PR person would use the horrible spelling & grammar contained in the emails, but sadly, it’s not a joke. Poor spelling & grammar aside, Paul Christoforo apparently emits “douche” from every pore on his body. This guy really does take the cake!
