Heading to Lusaka in the morning by bus with Benson, a disciple from Kitwe. I am going to Dar Salaam (24hr bus trip!) with Pastor Renaldo and Pastor Victor for a mission trip for a couple of days. Please pray for us for "grace exploits!"

by Pastor Adam & Melinda
As we drove around the curve we peered anxiously, straining our eyes, trying to see if it was still standing. "Can you see it?" - "No, do you?" I replied. We were looking for the 7 meter high wooden cross which the day before had taken 7 men to put up prominently on a hill, located near the front of our new property. It had rained heavily in the night and our fear was that perhaps the strong winds and wet soil had not held the structure because cement takes several days to dry. Then suddenly... "There it is! It's still standing!" We breathed a sigh of relief. There it was, the simple tall, thin wooden cross on top of a grassy knoll. It reminded me of the "old rugged cross" - nothing special (by sight), but to the believer, it holds a lot of meaning.

A POWERFUL LANDMARK
There has been a lot of curiosity in the community lately centered around the new church property. Whenever we are there, people stop by to get a closer look, wondering what is going on. They stop and ask, every time. How fitting it seemed that the first thing erected would answer all their questions, a simple wooden cross, which says it all. The location of the property is on a popular route for a number of local residential areas. Members of our church have mentioned that, not a few times, while driving past on the public minibus transportation, they have overheard people talking about it. That cross! That is what we are talking about, and that is what we are pointing people to. Now, it's a landmark! As we meet people daily, we mention it. And it seems everyone has seen it. "Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you" (Galatians 3.1)

"PREACHING SALVATION"
As we drove closer to the property, fixing our eyes on the cross, our minds flashed back to a conversation we had a week earlier. When we first engaged Reuben, the man who organized the leveling out of the land, we asked him if he was born again. He was, and seemed pleasantly surprised that we were more concerned with the state of his soul, than just his line of business. He was eager to hear about the church and the vision of the ministry. As we told him, he listened intently, and said, "You know, few churches preach salvation anymore." The comment reverberated in our minds. So many people seem to be lost in the cloak of religion, but have no understanding of the cross and of salvation. Every generation needs to be evangelized. We much preach Christ, crucified. What else really matters? The cross still stands.

We had just recently arrived back in
Zambia after being away for 40 days and 40 nights. It was a Tuesday,
and the daily schedule led us to Buchi [meaning honey], a
nearby community, for a time of door to door evangelism. As we
walked through the cluttered streets, it was such a contrast to the
orderly neighborhood in Baltimore where we had just come from. Each
plot was somehow demarcated, whether by some plants, a hedge, a few
planks of wood sloppily nailed together to make a fence, or for those
who had more money, a cement wall. On each plot there was a
collection of small houses which seemed to be randomly placed, each
of them consisting of about one to four rooms. Everything was brown
as it was hot and dry. Dust was everywhere,
everything seemed to be
covered by layers of it. It blew in our faces, in our eyes & in
our teeth. I despised it. I couldn't stand the feeling
of it on my hands & in between my toes as my feet sank into it.
Micah & Noah (aged 4 and 2) laughed and ran ahead kicking it up
everywhere as they went. I closed my eyes & tried to put it out
of my mind, it was such a small thing.

We were divided up into groups. I was
with Charles, a Zambian disciple, with a heart of a true servant of
God, and a heart for souls. Our first stop was a half built house,
where inside 2 men were working. We peered in the whole of what was
to someday be a window & greeted them in the local language.
“Mwabombeni,” how are you working? The men looked up, one
of them smiled, and said, “Ah, it is a beautiful day.” We all
laughed, as the men came out of the house. Charles and I sat on a
plank of wood stretched across 2 stones to make a bench, the 2 men
grabbed an empty bucket, turned it upside down to make themselves a
seat. We introduced ourselves & began sharing the gospel. One
of the men, Gift, listened intently, asking questions, and prayed
with us to receive Christ as his Savior. He began speaking, “ you
know,” he said, “I have been having troubles, and asking, 'Why?'
I just couldn't understand. I didn't know what to do, I was thinking
of just ending it, but I knew this was not right. I knew I could not
just end it, so I asked God to send someone. That is why I said, 'it
is a beautiful day' because when I saw you, I knew you had been sent
from God.”

The dust has since been washed off, and
the dustiness of our souls is continually being dealt with by the
Word. Gift still refers to things that were said on that dusty day.
He has been faithful to church, as well as our addictions program,
since then. He even plans to be part of the baptism next weekend.
With a smile on his face he encourages others, despite the tests he
has been faced with as a new believer.

Pray for “Buchi”, where our new church property is (video here) - it's an area notorious for problems, poverty, alcohol
addictions, promiscuity, broken marriages, and broken hearts - that
grace would shine in the darkness!

For the past 3 years we have been meeting in a school, saving & praying that God would give us our own piece of land where we could have the freedom to meet 24/7. And God answered!.. Wednesday, Sept 12th, through the generous, Spirit led, love motivated giving of many of you, we were able to purchase, for $6,000, a nice plot in a prime location, where we hope to meet soon. As God provides, our immediate goal is to put a large tent ($1,400) on a concrete foundation ($1,200), with a bible college dorm ($1,000) on site, before the rainy season in November. We are praising the Lord for for what He has done!

We were sitting in the home of Diz, a British woman who had lived in Zambia for 57 years ...and she is now over 80! The setting and the atmosphere were quite simple. We were sitting in a large room with a cement floor. The walls were lined with boxes & there was a big table covered with various odds & ends, from kitchen utensils, to a sewing machine & piles of material.

Outside the landscape bore the fruit of many of Diz's personal projects.

As we came down her driveway, we were greeted by donkeys! And then, handicapped children, as well as various small buildings, with curious eyes popping out.

Now we were sitting in a room, which sometimes served as a clinic, but now contained the contents of a container, that Diz had waited 6 years to receive! Opposite us sat Diz, in her simple handmade dress, smiling over her cup of tea as she listened to our story..

After soulwinning, earlier in the morning in a neighboring area, we wound up in her neighborhood, during visitation of church members. (She is in the country side farming area, outside of Kwacha compound, where most of our church members live).

Whilst we were doing our visit, we discovered that there was a potential of purchasing land in this neighborhood and so we decided to meet the neighbors to find out about the area, and that is how we ended up at her house.

We were overwhelmed by her simple faith and acts of love. She is a spiritual woman, a beautiful believer, who has devoted her life, and her pension, and lives so simply. Afterwards we realized why-- she shares everything she gets, with the widows, dying HIV patients, orphaned children, children with disabilities, and the list goes on... each person, somehow touched by God's love, manifested through this precious lady.

"You sound like me", she said, "living by faith!", (inside I felt like I couldn't tie this saintly woman's shoes..)

"God has been faithful. Whenever he asks me to help someone, He always provides. I never put my hand out asking people for anything", as she smiled.

"I feel very safe here by myself. Every night, I just ask my Father to bring the angels!"

"Back during the struggle for independence, I woke up a few times with knives to my throat, and didn't ever want to come back! But God gave me a vision, and I couldn't say no."

Case after case, story after story, it was so inspiring. I asked, how do you deal with so many needs, because we sometimes feel like we can't help everyone? "Yes", she said, "there are open hands everywhere, and if you try to do everything you'll find you don't do anything well and it doesn't bare any fruit."

"I don't know... inside I just somehow know which ones to help. I just ask my Father, and he brings them through the gate!"

Despite being very good for her age, she realizes that she could be gone in any moment. "Well we all could right?!", she says. She says that the time has come to hand over the operation - "it's not an organization or anything - just personal" she says, and we are amazed. She is looking for someone who will do it from the heart, whoever God tells her to. Another lovely family missionary family in the city, which works with street children, has been speaking to her and praying about doing this.

"It's my whole life's work, so please pray that He would show me exactly who to hand it over to", she says. She is building a little one bedroom house in the yard, so she can stay right there.

We held hands, and prayed for this dear lady. Keep Diz and her kids, in your prayers.

We were so touched by her life, and this week, in fact before we saw her, it has been so much in our hearts to find different outreaches, many fish hooks, into the community, where we can help people, and bring in the gospel to win them to Christ.... Grace Overcomers (addiction ministry), Grace moms (for new mothers), Grace kitchen (soup and the gospel), are some of the things we were thinking of. Our visit with her gave us plenty of ideas, and burned the vision God has for people, deeper into our hearts.
Very excited as we await visitors, Peter + team (UK), Pastor Scibelli (October), Tanguays (Sept/Oct), Mindy's grandad, who is 86, and... maybe you:) ?
Exciting news about.. students from other towns, the Grace Hour radio here in Kitwe, the inspiring story of Diz, & the search for a new church property.

Bible school just started: students from different cities like Ndola & Luanshya arrived, so dorm is getting too small; we'd like more space to put them in & to help them get here, so we just started an "international student fund", us & local students helping those from others cities to come... @$3 per ride to Kitwe from anywhere in the Copperbelt..!
Very excited as we await visitors, Peter + team (UK), Pastor Scibelli (October), Tanguays (Sept/Oct), Mindy's grandad, who is 86, and... maybe you:) ?
Today I just got back from Congo, real Africa! A country I heard much about, saw its wars on TV
, and remember telling a Congolese
student, I don't think I'll ever go there. That student is Pastor Emile, and he just reminded me of what I said as I visited Congo for the first time! A country so mind-blowing to the average westerner, but at the same time exciting, especially when you see the strange and unique work of God, in such a bizarre setting. I remember talking to a man on the street about the personal love and grace of God. In moments another, then another were stopping... until about 50 were gathered, intrigued and listening to the translation into French. I've posted a Speedcast video clip + some footage from Congo on the site. Or.. for those interested in more details of this African journey, continue reading this.. sorry... extended epistle here...............

It began last week, getting my visa at the Congolese Consulate in Ndola. French TV playing on a TV in the room. A new increased price list just posted the day before. And in 20 minutes, I had the stamp.. all in French, so my wife interpreted it for me. Valid for a month,.,. 1 visit. I have realized that if I learned French... well and Swahili.. I would be able to communicate with most of this continent...

Sensing the need to not go alone, I invited my songleader, Sydney from Kitwe. He has been before. But unfortunately, when he went to the Consulate, his documents were not all there, so my trip was delayed a day.

A little discouraged, I prayed and asked the Lord who I could take. For some reason everyone's phones seemed to be off. In the morning I called my assistant Justin, and keyboardist, Martin. They were surprised i was still in the country. Asking them if they wanted to come with they wanted to know when? "In 5 minutes!".................... And so the journey began.......!!..............

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The bus to Chingola, $3 each, takes an hour, and from there you take a cab, $4 each, for 20 minutes to the border......

THE BORDER - "KASUMBALESA"

Chaos is the first thing which greets you as you reach the Congo border.
The 2 lane road has 6 rows of cars, going in all sorts of directions. Hundreds of trucks, dirt, carts, wheel barrows, bycicles with crates of goods, wonderful scene... along with the police... "checking" that everyone has everything in order haha'

There's a straight road which you can drive/walk through, pretty much unharrassed, but you are supposed to report to the Zambian side to stamp out.. which we did.. Justin and Martin getting a cheap little "pass" for Zambians. Then on to the Congo side............

THE CONGO SIDE :)
You are first ushered into a security booth, where your passport details are taken down. I found the people very friendly and got my first exposure to "Bonjour"... The atmosphere changed big time. In moments you arrive at the office building, where alot of French speaking is going on outside. Money is being changed. Documents and papers and business is moving around. People are offering to "help" you... And of course our good friend, Pastor Emile, has come and escourted us through the whole process.... some how crossing into the Zambian side.. he now takes the lead. Coming back out of the office, he has bad news... not only do you have to pay the "first time in Congo fee" ($10), but there's a "Hygene" fee, a stamp your yellowfever card fee, and a "why did you get your congo visa in Zambia instead of your country of origin" fee... $10 a pop...
Gaizing at the sea of confusion, I spotted a huge tyre-wearing American Mor(m)on... with the elder badge on. I thought to myself, how much man can do without Christ! He can come to these far away places... even wear the name "Jesus Christ" on a badge... all without Christ. I immediately began sharing this with the 2 disciples next to me... how important it is to come to the cross daily and be filled with the Holy Spirit. I sent Pastor Emile back and this time he came back with better news... his angel friend (so we called him), an older man, a Congolese official who had helped him before, had reappeared! So all the fees were waived.. and I finally got to meet this sweet God-sent man, felt his back for angels wings, smiled, and thanked him for his help.

INSIDE CONGO...
As soon as you walk into Congo you find men with wads of cash... trying to exchange with you. There biggest bill is 500franks... about 50c (US)!!! So to buy anything would be wads... except for the fact that most stores also accept US$.
We found a car, $5 each person, and began the 2hr journey to Lumbumbashi. It is kind of the southern capital. Kenshasa in the north is not reachable by land! There is no road, only jungle! Lumbumbashi is about 6million people. But to get there, you have to pass through police checkpoints!

THE CHECKPOINTS
In 10 minutes we had reached our first checkpoint. Unfortunately for him, the policeman not only waved for him to stop, but stood right in the lane so he had to stop... it was all down hill from there. Because, out of fear, they are used to slowing down but not stopping, trying to just pass, he eventually came to a stop, but touched at the last second, the policeman's pants... Bad mistake... angry, upset, he put his foot on the hood, and dusted off his pants... which looked perfectly clean to me. At that point he was arrested... and in an hour, they had found a charge against him... he was insured... put only for 4 passangers... he had 7.

After much negotiations, an hour later, he had paid them the total amount he would receive from all of us... $35, and we were on our way.... We had for 2 hours been watching how most cars did it... slow down, hand out of window... give a dollar... split between both officers... and off they'd go... This driver was new.

LUMBUMBASHI
The city is huge. Huge mine dumps greet you. Lots of motor bikes. And... by the time we got to the Methodist Guest House... I was pretty beat. It was afternoon.. Electricity was off, but the place looked pretty nice so I settled in, unpacked, had a shower (water still warm from when the electricity was working!), and was ready to go see the city!

I would be sharing the house with a lovely missionary from Boston.. Joel Gray. He instantly saw the B on my family Roberge Redsox cap, and we began talking. He grew up in French speaking west Africa, an MK, and went back, now living in the 50% muslim country of Berkina Fasso. I mentioned that I had been with a Pastor Bamouni from there a couple of weeks ago at the Ghana convention and.... vwaalaaa, he knew him and had been with him last month as well! Small world... He was teaching leaders for a couple of days, interactively, in Congo. He does a missionary training school for Bible school graduates in West Africa. Also interested in what we are doing.. it took quite a while to explain who we are... Who are we?.... hmmm.... hard to put us in a box... but we have Someone, have received a ministry from heaven... and it's unique and special... I suppose in some ways... we are a voice... of grace... crying in the wilderness of legalism... Well I didn't put it like that.. but we got really good friends and the next night spent hours together fellowshipping around the word of God.

After that we went into this Frech signed town... very interesting... so many people... found the main grocery store.. "Jambo Mart", where you could get almost anything. And quite cheap too. I bought a huge red fish, which I have been craving since Ghana...
Then off to Pastor Emile's... where he stays on the same property as his brother and AMAZING COOKING sister in law... who cooked the fish, and welcomed us as family. Justin and Martin were shocked at the different Nshima (cooked maize dough)... a bit harder than what they're used to... and that the Congolese don't chew it... just swallow!!

While there it began to POUR... Congo style! We decided to leave before the river overflowed (it often does), and made it in time.

At the guest house I slept like a baby........

A SOULWINNER'S PARADISE.......
Next day we began soulwinning in Pastor Emile's area. At a large soccer field.. thousands of people... None of us speak french so we split up with Pastor Emile, and I had Billy... one of his french speaking disciples.
PEOPLE WERE SO OPEN!!!!!!!!
People were so friendly, willing to chat, warm, welcoming.. and once one would stop, a conversation would get started.. then another and another till literally 50 people.. a crowd was gathered... and more wondering what's going on. They seem to enjoy listening through a translator and almost felt like a rap type atmosphere where I was able to ask them questions in the crowd... what do you think of when you think of God... Any questions or comments? Or at times I would just focuss on the one I had began with and everyone else would seem to just be soaking it up too.

Pastor Emile met a man who said he used to be a Pastor but was backslidden. He started sharing with him Hebrews 13:5 and I couldn't understand the man but almost in tears I could see him motioning with his hands as if to say say it again, give it to me again, over over, one more time, in circles, again, give it to me, as his heart was being touched by God.

Pastor Emile's men were arriving one by one, four of them, and the day was filled with mass visitation... the 7 of us, walking around, meeting their families, such hospitality... spending their little to throw prepared banquets! Such sweet hearts, hungry as anything for the word of God. It turned into one long moving revolving rap.... spontaneous, life, fun, bible filled, laughter filled, love filled, awesome body time.. culminating in a meeting with a group this other pastor, friends with Pastor Emile, had assembled in a mud brick church.... I preached on the Good Shepherd... leads and carries his sheep... Doesn't drive them!
Their hunger draws it out and people I could tell were very touched.
A country I heard much about, saw its wars on TV , and remember telling a Congolese student, I don't think I'll ever go there. PUBLIC TRANSPORT The bus to Chingola, $3 each, takes an hour, and from there you take a cab, $4 each, for 20 minutes to the border...... THE BORDER - "KASUMBALESA" Chaos is the first thing which greets you as you reach the Congo border. The 2 lane road has 6 rows of cars, going in all sorts of directions. Hundreds of trucks, dirt, carts, wheel barrows, bycicles with crates of goods, wonderful scene... along with the police... "checking" that everyone has everything in order haha' There's a straight road which you can drive/walk through, pretty much unharrassed, but you are supposed to report to the Zambian side to stamp out.. which we did.. Justin and Martin getting a cheap little "pass" for Zambians. Then on to the Congo side............ THE CONGO SIDE :) You are first ushered into a security booth, where your passport details are taken down. I immediately began sharing this with the 2 disciples next to me... how important it is to come to the cross daily and be </itunes:summary>

<feedburner:origEnclosureLink>http://www.youtube.com/v/HnfB6R873_U?version=3&f=user_uploads&c=google-webdrive-0&app=youtube_gdata</feedburner:origEnclosureLink>

Africa travels

2 Weeks ago - got back from GHANA
- very edifying, eye-opening, time, my first time ever!
Ghanaians & the Body there are so friendly & hospitable. Time with Pst. Schaller & Pst. Scibelli + the Body was AMAZING. I came back with alot of personal words & ideas for the Copperbelt. I was very touched seeing places the ministry started with Pst. Scibelli 25yrs ago, Tema, the airport, 1st school they met at etc... Plus... got a taste of fresh Coconut-o &... to stand up on Pastor Chris' famous old surf board in Takoradi! Then 2 Days ago, decided to take the Tanguays (visiting us from Lusaka!) to see NDOLA, one of the 5 Copperbelt cities where we started before moving to Kitwe (O Lord give us a church there!) An hour away, good road, even has its own new shopping mall... so we stocked up on a few items. There we stopped @Congo consulate for a visa. Total time.. less than 20min! Next Tues. (Feb 14) I plan to visit CONGO with Sydney from Kitwe to see Pst. Emile, church planting in Lubumbashi. Keep us in prayer... we don't speak French! Sports update: Sorry Patriots & Zambia just beat Ghana for soccer Pastor Adam
We're not interested in the world's flavor, smell, ways, values, materials, and adjectives. They emphasize quantity, God looks at quality, first. The "sort" it is (1Co3.13).. The inwards not outward. As ambassadors from another domain, in this world, but definitely not of it, we are God's salt. Pungent, affecting, transforming, preserving, undiluted.

That's what we experienced this week...

From the moment Pastor Scibelli arrived from the States, followed by 4 Ugandens, who bussed 4 days to get here, it was intense. High dosages of the word, of conviction, of wisdom, exhortation & encouragement. Soulwinning with 40-50 Zambians on the streets of Kitwe was also pretty explosive. The fruit of years of salty investment by men of God who've sacrificed a lot for the kingdom.

A 30-seater bus brought Pastor Renaldo, Pastor Chris and many leaders from
Lusaka & Uganda, and we had 3 days of incredible teaching, body life fellowship, basketball, food, and soulwinning with our church in Kitwe. The Kittites loved it! We were also joined by a group from the outreach in Chingola ("Chingolese!"). The vision for that city is now clear, and we have a target for the new group of believers, recently began holding services, to have classes by end of January. The vision for Congo also became clearer and we are asking for prayers for the new church planting mission in that interesting country. Pray also for my upcoming trip there.

Hope these pics give a glimpse of this explosive week. As we say in Southern Africa... "Yeboooo!!!!" [Yeeeeeeahahhh!!]

WEB: www.TheSpeedyz.com

Last week in Church history I taught on the life of missionaries including David Livingstone. I was so inspired by Stanley's account, that watching Livingstone, he saw the spirit of the early disciples who "forsook all and followed Him".
I was also touched by the men who burried his heart under a tree in Chitambo and carried his body over 1,000 miles to the coast, and then to England. How one life could so move these men so far, by love, is really amazing.

So we decided to find the place!...

Melinda and I and the kids embarked on the journey which was 6.5 hours from Kitwe, traveling around part of the Congo, to the East and then North.

The experience was quite moving and I made this video. I was very inspired by it watching the scenes again. Enjoy!...

This week we had so much positive response in one area of Kitwe, almost every door seemed to be wide open. So we organized to hold a service in one of the local new convert's yard!
So Sunday morning, me and about 10 Bible college students showed up for the first "early morning"
(8:30) service, and found 3 men. I quickly did the rounds up and down the street, of people we had led to the Lord that week, and in minutes, we had 10 new people, most who really would not ever go to a church. It was so simple, basic, on the grass, under a tree, but powerful.
The Body, the singing, the Word of Grace. And, at the same time, one of our students who travels from Chingola (about an hour away), held his first Sunday morning service with a group he has been holding Bible studies with!
God is doing it!

Plz remember us in your prayers,
We have been overwhelmed by this Body,
Refreshed, inspired, and edified with fresh vision for the year ahead.
God spoke to us personally, through such a constant flow of fresh, anointed messages, and though His presence in the Body.
I just wanted to fly our entire church here to experience it!
Saturday, by His grace, we begin our journey back via England, and hope to take some of what we received, back to Kitwe, with stammering lips, used by the Holy Spirit.
Charles Chanda (baptism picture) - truly a gift from God. He is the head of the dorm, a humble servant, and a true disciple. He is such an encouragement to me personally. Waking up at 04:30, he works on his small farm growing peanuts to make peanut butter and help feed the dorm, then he comes soulwinning and to classes!
"House2House" picture...
God has placed such a core group of provoking disciples and soulwinners. They live in "Kwacha", a very poor but open area. We are looking for land in this area. Their joy, and supernatural lives are making a difference.... Missing from the picture is our beloved "Pastor Emile", who is still across the border, waiting for his passport so he can stay here legally. **Please pray**
"Hungry" picture: Pastor Scibelli was in Zambia for the "best ever" ZamCon in Lusaka. A bus load (30) of us, traveled down for the conference. But for 3 days before, we were so privileged, refreshed and edified to have him in Kitwe. The Body was touched, gathering daily including morning meetings at our home for more than 4 hours of the word, followed by soulwinning and evening meetings...
Prayer Request:
We are so grateful to be coming soon to convention! Pastor Ntalasha (Lusaka) is kindly covering while we're out of town, early June for one month. Please pray for him and the precious Body here.
On a recent prayer calendar we requested "grace for the rainy season /showers of blessing this rainy season". God took it seriously and we have been overwhelmed... /
A tremendous supply of the word: The daily Baltimore messages & ABD's, anointed study and classes, & I've been getting much positive feedback from my Pentateuch class especially, seeing the finished work in all its glory in Exodus. [Recent Rema on 1Co14:26 Let all things be done unto edifying... That's the ministry!... "all things"... even every newsletter..].. hope you are edified... /
Travel: Until a few weeks ago we weren't certain we would be able to come this summer... But during the month, one by one, each ticket was supplied, and the whole family will be coming to London and Baltimore, early June for 5 weeks. Thank You God for faithful, sacrificial givers, who even made it possible to cover the expenses of a Pastor from Lusaka to be able to cover the church while we're away!/
Growth: A local team of disciples, 7 men (the 7 sons NOT of Sceva!), bible college students in the dorm, are regularly at the house for leadership meetings, helping with church admin, on the streets with us evangelizing, visiting the body, and even beginning a new bible study in Chimwemwe, the next area over. We have also seen a growth in the number of women attending, and in Bible school this semester we now have 30 students, at least one from each of the 5 Copperbelt cities, some of whom have even moved and others praying./
Land developments: The plot we are praying for, we have just found out, IS available!!! God has miraculously been bringing in the money. Another church was offered a similar large plot for $2,000, of which they paid 50% as a down payment. Praise the Lord, we now have the down payment as well as more than 50% of the balance (assuming we get it for the same), thanks to the love-motivated, free-will giving of some of the local disciples here, as well as, last week, a generous gift from abroad. Our "land team" was very encouraged when they had a meeting with the head of planning for the city, who said she would "push it" for us./
Please Pray
Billy (bible college student - mom's health) / Land (plot fund, favor at council, wisdom) / Dorm (continued growth and fellowship) / Travel (covering while we're away) / ZamCon (conference in Lusaka with P. Scibelli, that our church would be able to travel there) / Continued good health (every protection and provision for entire church, especially during malaria season) / Students from other cities (safety in traveling) /&...People to move to Kitwe! /
WEB: www.TheSpeedyz.com

We often wonder what we can do to really make a difference. What is the key?

Is it saying something? Having some wise understanding or knowledge? Doing some miraculous thing? Removing people's problems? Giving goods? Or even giving yourself?! Our religious flesh would get excited at the list and have us pursue these as the answer.

But the answer is not one of these, in and of itself. They profit "nothing" without God's love, in 1Co13.2-3. It is deeper. It is God's love, Who God is, in 1Jn4.8, which manifests itself in so many ways. The list above, but right down to a glass of water, a touch, a word, a look, our time, but motivated by Agape.

The picture above is Micah Speedy, his hair being touched by a group of about 50 children, as we evangelize in their area, where foreigners do not tread. He does not seem to mind!

Being with them, where they are at, you really start to get a sense of the heart of Jesus Christ for humanity, poured out in you by the Holy Spirit like a river, in Ro5.5

This week a young man called. One of 7 young men who live together the other side of Kitwe. Got a tract. Was touched. Came. Heard. Was touched again. Brought a friend. And just being with, was ministered to.

You can't put this in a box or a formula. It can't be manufactured. It's not natural. Jesus washing his disciples' dirty feet (including Judas'); Joseph having his undeserving brothers' feet washed. But it can be received. And manifested. It's what people REALLY need. God's love.
WEB: www.TheSpeedyz.com
