NCR printer that uses 2 sided receipt paper able to help retailers to prevent counterfeit receipts.

There's a report on Bloomberg.com about the return fraud that increasingly happen to retailers. Especially end of the year festive holiday, that many ppl would return goods to stores and get full-price money back according to their return policies.

Target Corp., Limited Brands Inc. and other U.S. retailers are devising new ways to fight fraudulent merchandise returns, which may cost the industry $3.5
billion during the holiday selling season.

Some retailer uses Retail Return Management software to manage their return policies while Target Corp uses 'spider wrap' on their boxed products.

** sprider wrap = They are attached to boxed products with cable and if someone tries to remove them, alarms go off.

It's also mentioned that NCR sells hard-to-replicate receipts to retailers that are printed on both sides and also used identifiable receipt inks.

Currently, only NCR is having this features in their printers and also the both side printing receipt paper.

The difference from other POS printers in the market is that the Toshiba TRST-A15 has 2 colors and 2 sided printing.

As stated in their product website about 2 colors printing that:

HP said the rp3000 Point of Sale (POS) is aimed at small to mid-sized merchants and includes an Intel Atom processor inside a machine that can operate in an ambient 40 degrees C environment, eliminating the need for additional cooling. The device needs only two power outlets, according to HP, which can power all peripherals including a keyboard with integrated credit card reader and a free-standing credit card reader that can be attached to select HP flat panel monitors or touch screens and customer display pole.HP also introduced three new retail printers, including a single-station, two-color and monochrome thermal printer and two hybrid thermal printers that can print two-color or monochrome receipts and offer impact slip printing for inserted forms and checks. One model also provides digital imaging functionality. A rugged, 15-inch diagonal, flat-panel touch screen monitor and cash drawer are also available, along with a d handheld scanner with a hands-free IntelliStand. The system and its optional peripherals are contained on the rp3000 Integration Tray.

Described by HP that the rp3000 was "Built from the ground up", that they took input from small and medium retailers and designed what it calls a space-saving system to help small retailers save time and money while managing the various tasks of their business.

"The rp3000 has a very small footprint, which makes it easier for retailers to save counter space. It's been designed with color-coded ports in the back to simplify setup." The system also uses only industry-standard technology, which HP claims makes it easier and less expensive to manage and run than other proprietary POS systems.
