@cole thanks! for all the amazing spider-man issues i bought this dvd: Amazing Spider-Man Complete Comic Book Collection Win/Mac. for everything else it’s been a combination of things, but mostly buying used collections/TPBs and beat-up single issues for as cheap as possible (ideally less than $1/issue) at used book stores and comic conventions.

Hey, i love what your doing i was looking all over for a list like this and now i can attempt to read them but i have one question, where are you reading the comics at? i’ve been using the marvel online comic book service but it seems to be missing some of the comics on your list. if you could let me know that would be great. but again thank you for doing this!

nope, definitely haven’t quit. due to stupid real life, though, i was forced to accept that the one-year timeframe was waaaaay too short. i’m still slogging through, but i just don’t have anywhere near as much free time as i’d like to work on this. glad to see the list is useful for you though! feel free to post comments on any new orderings or things you come across.

Just goes to show it’s horses for courses. Spidey’s first meeting with Shang-Chi is one of my favourite Spidey stories. Shangy does look a little jaundiced there though, I must admit. Maybe he should see a doctor when it’s all over.

@jon thanks for the comment. i got the first couple issues of the OIMU and then, for some reason, stopped. i didn’t totally agree with everything they had, but it would definitely be a great resource — i didn’t realize they went all the way to 2009. i’ll make sure to grab the rest, thanks. i’ll also definitely check out your podcast, that sounds fantastic. it’s great to find fellow webheads on the same mission! :)

I found your site a couple months back, and I’ve been on a similar mission for a couple years. I have two things for you:

1) If you have the opportunity, the recently published 14 issues of Official Index of the Marvel Universe provide a complete chronology of Spider-Man from AF 15 to the end of 2009. You will have other books you want to read in addition but it could be an aid in getting your books in reading order.

2) There is a podcast out covering the same mission with laughs along the way — Amazing Spider-Man Classics. I highly recommend it (but I might be biased cuz I’m the showrunner). If you listen and like it, maybe we can have you on as a guest co-host some day. It’s on iTunes and at the link above.

I haven’t been reading the later books that cover flashbacks (like Untold Tales), just the books as they were published. But I’m in the exact same place in my reading that you are. I’m gonna knock this Treasury book out tonight if I can. But yeah, I had no idea you were here blogging about this, and I just happened to find you as our reading lines intersect.

@BlackRainn – sorry, i’m not going to have time to figure out the right order for awhile, possibly until i’m actually done this whole thing. what i can suggest, though, is looking at the posts for those things that are listed as [WRONG ORDER]. there will probably be spoilers, but i usually talk a bit about where i think they should have gone. also take a look at all the posts in the ‘Project Info’ category — i discuss adjustments in there too.

@Tomer — glad you found it! although, stuff after that point is very, very speculative right now. i really am not confident about those orderings at all, but if this helps, you’re welcome.
