Going up as a kid, blue was always my favorite colour.

It was the colour of my favorite comfy sweater, which I wore all the time, the tone of my giant nylon backpack I toted my school books in all through-out Elementary school and it was the hue I wore during my high school graduation—I loved blue.

Despite the fact that now I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same sweater twice in a month, that I now tote my belongings around in a giant Balenciaga bag or an obnoxious Louis Vuitton tote and how my entire wardrobe mainly consist of just white, grey and lots of black now... blue will always continue to be my favorite colour even though I don't wear it that often.

What do you guys think? What is your favorite colour even if you may not wear it that often?
Theres no doubt about it that I have a infinite liking to designer labels and luxurious Italian leathers—That's just the giant label whore in me. But I also have a fondness for camouflage and things military green.

I like the dominant presence of a military inspired appearance but with a contrast of precious and lush pieces to compliment—It's a nice balance of tough with a touch of luxe.... But then again, let's be honest, I just enjoy em' soldiers in uniform...that added with a touch of Gucci...well dear, that will just make me completely weak in the knees!

I've recently [and finally] made a bold decision that is seriously going to change my life from having it all to with just about nothing and starting from scratch. I admit, I am completely petrified—Not even the biggest Chanel sunglasses or fancy new outfit could mask how utterly nervous I am right now.

I really hope that I've made the right decision for whats going to be best for my life. I may feel uneasy now, but as that great saying goes... Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

So with that said, may the next 4 months for me be some of the most incredible last times before I start my new adventure....

My big obsession this spring season are coloured trousers.

From fire-engine reds to brilliant highlighter yellows, my current favourite are these terrific Nile-green jeans from Mavi. Aside from the great lively colour, these are the perfect straight-leg jeans which aren't too constricting and are made of ultra-light cotton that will still be wearable throughout the summer—These are definitely one of my picks this season!

I know many guys are still intimidated of the idea of coloured pants, but start off with baby steps... like starting off with a charcoal blue and then work your way up to something more bold like a cobalt blue later—Bright coloured pants are just something that needs getting used to.

I get looks and stares every single time I sport my bright red crayon chinos around town all the time... I like to think it's because the colour is so outrageously obnoxious but I'm convinced that people are just staring at my ass because them red chinos give me a serious b-o-o-t-y even a black girl in a rap music video would be jealous of!

Just sayin.

Ha!

This is my craving for attention like a fat kid loves cake sort of outfit.

The bright yellow pants scream "Look at me! Look at me!" while ultra-luxe leathers in black tone the outfit with the perfect contrast and by adding a hint of royal blue into the mix, you have colour blocking at it's finest.

I will definitely get an a few stink-eyes along with some snarky remarks while in such a flamboyant coloured outfit...but that's alright because any attention is better than none.

Truth be told, I love hi-top sneakers.

I'm a sucker for a smart-looking pair of sneakers and I actually own quite the branded collection myself. I don't wear them often but when I do, people are always quick to comment on how sporty I look even though I am toting a Prada clutch at the same time.

I am no athlete by any means and probably couldn't shoot a basketball into a hoop if my life depended on it but you can guarantee that I can certainly look the part with my short-shorts, knee-high socks and everything if I needed to. But just don't ask me to run. The rubber soles of my Gucci sneakers are totally not made for that—Strutting, YES. Running? Uh. NO. Unless its to a warehouse sale at Barneys New York, then bring it on!

Truth be told, I don't ever wear neck-ties. This is probably the first time I have EVER been pictured with a neck-tie on my blog. I'm actually quite shocked I even own one at all for that matter!

It's not because I don't like them, I just never had much of a desire to incorporate one with my look—It looks wonderful and compliments others fabulously though! It just isn't much my personal style thats all.

Like some people prefer sweets over savory, or Louis over Gucci, I just prefer unbuttoned and loose over tie and tight.

I'm a closet romantic and I secretly like Valentines even though I may be single.

Yea... sure, Valentines may be a pathetic reminder of how lonely it is to be single when you're walking down that wretched sea of red heart shaped boxes of chocolates and fuzzy teddy bears at the drug store but thats fine with me because at the end of the day, I'd rather be single than be in a relationship with the wrong person.

But when I do find that right person, they must celebrate Valentines... only because I have always been single on that one day of the year and I want to be 'that' obnoxious couple that sends flowers to one another at work and all that 'hoo ha' nonsense just to get a kick out of it and annoy others...because I'm twisted like that.

But until then, I don't need no Valentines, I'll buy my own Gucci, my Nike sneaks and the candy around my wrists.....but then again if y'all feeling generous, I'm a size 9.5 in them Nikes, so that's okay with me too!

Can I make my obsession with turtlenecks this current season any more obvious?—Well clearly I can, by making a Part 2 follow-up of last week's blog entry of course!

I also have been recently sporting a lot of head-to-toe black ensembles lately.... A little too much in fact because it's starting to look like I'm always prepared to go to a funeral at a moments notice, but I guess with all this gloomy dark weather looming in the city and people's depressing credit card bills rolling in from the holidays, you can never be too over prepared for one this season.

But I swear, I did wear colour the other evening out....Grey—Yes. How very adventurous of me.

My current obsession this season has been turtle necks and if you follow me on Instagram (which you ALL DEFINITELY SHOULD), you would have spotted me wearing a turtle neck here, also here and here. Whether it be cashmere or a light merino wool to even a poly-blend, I love a good turtle neck underneath a smart fitted blazer, sport or leather jacket. It's a wonderful refined and effortless look—I love it!

Many dear friends of mine have commented on my "up to my neck" look, saying that I'm dressed so conservatively and more so like a Nun now rather than my usual scantily clad and plunging neckline ensembles that I apparently sport all year round—That is a false allegation! ...sorta.. *ahem*

On another note, I will be starting my wild rose cleanse in just about under a week today. So brace yourself because I am going to be a miserable cow thats going to tweet some nasty hungry angry things out of starvation and carbohydrate withdrawals on Twitter!

TOPMAN leather biker jacket; GAP cable knit sweater; UNIGLO oxford button down collared shirt; DOCKERS camouflage print cotton chinos; JOHN FLUEVOG boots; DIOR HOMME black acetate sunglasses.

I've been sabotaged this past winter holiday.

I was gifted chocolate truffles instead of Chanel tweeds and shortbread cookies instead of Saint Laurent knits. I devoured every decadent and sugary treat presented to me and now I'm paying the price by not being able to fit into my black skinny jeans. I hate to say this but, I chose high-calorie instead of high-fashion...Monsieur Christian Dior & Madame Gabrielle Chanel would probably give me the biggest ashamed eye roll from the grave if they heard word of this.

My sacrilegious actions are unforgivable but I swear, on my brand new quilted red Chanel clutch that I will not start replacing my jeans and trousers for stretchy yoga-wear and sweatpants for comfort if I gain—Lord Forbid—any more weight.

Amen.

Ergo, along with the ever so flattering, the colour black, I will also be sporting a lot of camouflage like my outfit in the photos above so my recent weight gain isn't as noticeable. Fake it to you make it? Well in this case, blend in till you can't see it!

I've been real naughty this past year and I probably don't deserve anything but a slap on the wrist and a lump of coal in my Prada but if it's any consolation I've been on my best behaviour for the past two weeks... so that must account for something… right?

So please Santa Baby, surprise me with some Dior under my Christmas tree or a pair of ridiculously sexy red soled boots to make me cheer in holiday spirit and of course don't forget to stuff my stocking with some TRIPLE C's—some Chanel, some Céline and some Cartier.

Many thanks in advance Santa ;) xoxo

DIESEL down-filled bomber vest; TOPMAN navajo print shirt; AMERICAN APPAREL cotton undershirt; KASIL WORKSHOP the 'Dean' tapered trousers in Whiskey Red; JOHN FLUVOG the 'Headliners' boots; PRADA nylon & leather tote bag; GUCCI aviators.

I have a mild obsession with the colour burgundy or what Kasil Workshop cleverly calls, Whiskey Red, this season.

To be quite honest, I don't have much colour in my wardrobe outside of the neutral colour palettes of black, white, gray, brown and navy, so this whiskey red number is definitely a step out of the box for me believe it or not, but its unquestionably a very comfortable one.

Also, I've actually replaced a lot of my denim and skinny jeans for chinos and cotton trousers recently too. As much as I love a good pair of super skinny black jeans, I've gotten more relaxed with my pants. Sure, I can still wear a fierce pair of 'fashion over comfort' jeans...you know... that pair that you can barely move around or bend over in but damn do you look ever so good.... but at the end of the day I just want to be comfortable....

Maybe, I'm just getting fat and my body can't fit into skinnies like it used to. Next thing you know it, I'll be sporting sweatpants in public instead—Sacrilegious! I know! ...But knowing me and my label whoring ways, if I did start replacing my jeans and trousers for sweatpants, you can bet your bottom dollars they will be like Alexander Wang or Yohji Yamamoto drop crotch flannel sweats and it would be paired with leather biker boots and definitely NOT with gym sneakers. Duh.

The temperature in the city is dropping and the layers of clothes have been adding up. Slim fitted and fine wool jackets and chunky knit sweaters are my definite go-to pieces especially in nice earth tone colours this winter. But of course, have some fun with colour...like maybe with some cobalt blue trousers? And add a splash of personality with some fun printed socks and a great scarf too! A great brown leather brogue holds together this polish look and finish off with a smart looking watch and a great pair of calf skin leather gloves.

The season may be getting a lot colder but that doesn't mean you can't stay warm and sharp looking at the same time.

If I could chose just one piece from my wardrobe… Just one… One item that I most coveted…A go to thing that every time I wore, I would feel like a sight for sore eyes and someone ready to command attention because it would make me feel so great every time that piece was draped over my body…that prized garment would be my Balmain blazer.

This black lamb skin lapel blazer is my little black dress to a smart woman's wardrobe. It is what I like to call, my coat of luxurious Parisian armour.…Its that piece that you dress in knowing that you are going to see your biggest enemy in that day and because you look and ultimately feel good, you have the words "Bring it on BITCH" written across your face when you cross that rival's path—THIS. Is my go to feel good piece.

We ALL own an article of clothing that makes us feel this way. So tell me, what is yours?

Aside from my expensive obsession for luxurious designer shoes and anything shiny, sunglasses to me are my favourite staple accessory regardless of whatever season it may be. Sunglasses are more than just a fashion statement, they are great protectants from the sun's harmful rays and also to be quite frank, they are your only saviours when no amount of make-up concealer lathered on could hide those shameful dark bags under your eyes from a debaucherous evening the night before. Darling...trust me, I know because I probably own more sunglasses than they are of sunny days in a year in Vancouver.

The latest addition to my constantly growing collection of shades are these ultra sleek Dsquared2 black aviators. With a classic look with a modern edge, these aviators have easily become my favourite pair for this season.

Many thank yous to the fabulous Sunglasses Shop who have made my shopping for shades incredibly delightful and smooth. Sunglasses Shop carries a vast collection of designer sunglasses for men and women. From popular brand names like Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford to classic labels like Chanel and Dior, Sunglasses Shop has many of your favourite brands and styles of shades you will covet and love. So check out Sunglasses Shop online today for all of your fancy eyewear needs!

A British favourite of mine, Topshop Topman opened its doors in Vancouver just last week and already I have been racking up my credit card bill with great new pieces for fall and a handful of, "I don't need it, but I WANT it" splurge type of items. The store is located right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver in the beautiful and newly renovated The Bay and is hailed as the largest international Topshop Topman outside of the chain's flagship location on Oxford Circus in London.

Of course with such a large opening of a fashion juggernaut, must follow a fabulous and opulent launch party. If you all followed me on Twitter, which YOU ALL SHOULD, you would have caught my gallivanting on camera like here, here, HERE...oh and HERE TOO at this fantastic celebration.

I danced, smized for the camera and clearly had one too many glasses of champagne but the biggest highlight of my evening was having the opportunity to chat with Gordon Richardson, who is the Creative Director of Topman UK who flew in from London, at an exclusive dinner party for 50 that I felt beyond privileged to have been invited to.

So...and the best part of the conversation? He told me he liked how I styled my outfit. It was this Topman leather biker jacket with a crisp white dress shirt tucked into slim black cigarette pants and YSL laceless loafers—Dressy yet with a modern edge. I was utterly flattered and grinned like a buffoon the rest of the evening and still till this day, I blush when I think about it.

I think I can officially die happy. . .well wait. Not until I get to attend Paris Fashion Week of course! But until then, you can find me shopping at Topshop Topman in Vancouver.

On another note, please excuse my failed attempt at 'smizing' in the photos above of this blog post. I'm Asian, we just naturally have squinty eyes, so why bother when trying to smize. #Justsayin.
It's rained a lot recently for the first time in a long time and to be quite honest, I've taken quite the comfort of the refreshing damp weather despite how gloomy it may look—I like it and it puts me at ease….And also, it allows me to put these Gucci rubber rain boots that I forgot I even owned to good use.

Today is the day of giving thanks.

I am grateful for my wonderful friends, supportive family, decent health, being born a lot taller than the average Asian, having luscious full lips, my ability to recover from a hangover fast, Tom Ford, having perfect and healthy nail beds, oh and of course for possessing such a 'winning personality' and being able to speak sarcasm so fluently with such a straight face, it's beyond scary.

Also and lastly, without any sarcasm and I swear it on my Chanel bag, I am thankful for YOU. The person reading this blog entry or any of my blog entries who has been following this blog for a while now or for that person seeing The Starving Stylist for the very first time. Thank you to all those who have emailed me, commented on my blog posts or are following me on Twitter, Facebook and BlogLovin'. All the admiration and words of support from all of you have always put a smile to my face and I am grateful for all of you. Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians. xx

Fall is upon us and as the nights get darker, so does my wardrobe.

Black skinny jeans and a well fitted black leather jacket become my staple go to pieces that could do no wrong, no matter what I am pairing them up with. In this case, I've complimented my black essentials with a fun Mickey graphic tee (I have the biggest soft spot of Mickey FYI) and a splash of animal print for some added boldness. And of course, nothing is complete without some accessorizing—a leather cuff, some metals, a watch and of course a pair of shades that say, "I'm busy. Talk to someone else that cares."

That's what I've would have worn today. How about you?

I was never good at sports and probably will never [EVER] be, but I can sure look the part if I ever 'attempted' to play. Whether or not I could catch the ball or not, I'm a good runner even in my Gucci sneaks because my agility was built from all the dashing I've down around town to warehouse sales to sample sales.

I may shoot a basketball into a hoop and shout "Touch Down" or run to first base during baseball and ask for the goalie. And the only 'Polo' I will ever know is by Ralph Lauren and the closet thing to tennis I will ever get to is by wearing Lacoste. I don't know much about sports but if styling entire outfits for a group of 15 models for a runway show with one hand tied behind my back and one eye closed in 15 minutes was considered a sport…well... I'd be an Olympic Gold Medalist.

“I have an irrational fear of wasting a good outfit on an insignificant day.”

This quote above is an oldie but very much a goodie that still makes me utter "Amen to that" underneath my breath every time I stumble across it.
Despite having probably more than enough clothes to dress an entire small country, I loathe when a perfectly great outfit is wasted on a day with no irrelevance or is not worth mentioning without giving a heavy eye roll.

It's like dressing up and putting on your best look hoping to bump into that tall dark haired beauty in the glasses with the briefcase that goes to the same Starbucks as you every morning while on your way to work. You just keep hoping they would just notice you… just for a second as you bat your lashes while you stand coyly but nervously with your Balenciaga weekender clutched in your sweaty palms as you try to keep cool and refrain from blushing bright Valentino red in the face…

I've never done that before. I swear. I don't even like Starbucks. Uh huh. Yup. Sure….*heavy sigh*

With that said, if "I didn't see anybody important today, I'll wear these same clothes tomorrow". A major fashion sacrilege it may be but no good outfit should ever go unnoticed.

Nothing more fabulous than spending a gorgeous sunny afternoon at the beautifully serene Van Dusen Gardens in Vancouver for the annual Luxury Supercar Weekend over this past weekend.

I sipped on champagne, nibbled on some delectable treats, sampled exotic premium spirits, posed & pouted for many photographs, checked out some major sweet rides and of course gallivanted around the park with some of the best company of friends. I don't know much about cars unlike I do about fashion and designer labels, but I will say, like an Hermès Birkin bag is to a Ferrari, you have to definitely admit that there is some major quality craftsmanship and beauty that is put into these stunning vehicles.
