BEHIND-THE-SCENES:  Stephanie Blum takes her brother Larry to the movies.  Greg Blum, her husband is left with all three kids.  Stephanie and Greg are both stressed out.  Greg insists that Stephanie’s brother is retarded.  It’s been a major adjustment for them since both of Stephanie’s parents passed away and Larry is now their responsibility.  Greg also admits that he has had mental health issues in the past.  Stephanie sometimes wishes she hadn’t married someone who has similar psychological dysfunctions as the rest of her mentally ill family.

How do you know if you’re compatible enough to marry someone?  Should a woman settle and marry anyone to have a child?  Should a woman not give birth because she doesn’t have a man?  How do you explain it to your child when he wants to know who is daddy is?  Should a woman become a single mom and do it herself because she can’t find a mate?   Is it a punishment for a child to not have a father?  Does it make your life better when you have a child?    Or does life become more difficult as a single mom?
