The Stinky Princess

My First Basketball Game!

2011-02-11T01:53:00.000-08:00

Guess what, guys? Last night I went to my very first basketball game! Auntie Emilie brought me with her to cheer on Danielle, who helped her school's team to win the League Championship, the first time in more than 30 years! Wow, huh? It was so much fun.

After the game we did a little shopping. All the winter gear was 50% off! You know how I love a bargain!

Of course, I had to carefully inspect the goods up close.

Baby Brunhilda

2011-02-08T02:32:00.000-08:00

I already embarrassed Iggy by sharing some of his baby pics, so it was only fair that I embarrass my sister too, so here's a baby pic of Black Mamba. She was about 3 months old, and still had her puppy fat. Now that she's grown we call her fat "curves."

Union Station

2011-02-01T02:03:00.000-08:00

Had to swing by and pick someone up at one of my favorite places in town recently, our gorgeous Union Station. I love this place: the spectacular architecture, the hustle and bustle, hellos and goodbyes. Also known as "The Last Great Railway Station," it's such a romantic place, it makes me feel like I'm in an old movie from the 30's or 40's. Loves it!

Workin' it outside the entrance. Work! Turn to the left! Work!

People-watching in the dramatic lobby.

I wore what I call my "Casablanca" jacket--my cute stylish white trench. Whenever I wear it I feel so glamorous, like I'm on my way to Rick's Café Américain, and romance and intrigue are about to ensue. An afternoon duck breast treat is about the most thrilling it gets around here these days. But mark my words, oh yes, exciting adventures will be mine. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...but soon and for the rest of my life!

At Union Station I was also lucky to meet this cutie, Ami Yares, a musician from Joisey.

He was on his way to his gig but made time to chat with us and give us a CD. Ami was cool and friendly as can be, and he's super talented!

Be sure to check him out:

Hope you enjoyed the Union Station pics! 10 points to whoever can name a movie or TV show filmed here!

Happy 2011....

2011-01-31T23:56:00.000-08:00

Hello everyone!

Hope everyone's had an awesome 2011 so far! I know, I know, I haven't been posting lately. I don't know why, really...I just know that I've been feeling so...just...blah...lately, a serious case of doggie-ennui. It started with all the rainy weather gettin' me down (I'm an LA girl through and through and can't handle precipitation). Maybe it's also because another year passing has gotten me thinking of my own mortality. Chis only live an average of 12 years and I hate to think my best years are behind me. Maybe it's all downhill from here (shudder!). Also, it's tough being the big sis--having to worry about everyone else all the time. Chairman Meow's been sick, Davis is going through her rebellious teenage phase, and we're fostering a new kitty, Binx (pics coming soon, he is aDORable!) I'm starting to snap out of it, though, so stay tuned for some fun posts. Here's to a happy year to come! Cheers!

Christmas!

2010-12-26T23:48:00.000-08:00

Check out our Christmas pictures!

We all look so pooped because we stayed up late waiting for Santa!

Here are the treats we left for Santa and his reindeer:

an ensaymada and a glass of milk for Santa and carrots, apples, and leafy greens for the reindeer (that's what the internet says they like).

All those presents aren't for us, silly! Just most of them. Hahaha!

Stay tuned for a report for all the loot we got!

Hope you all had a great holiday!

It's a DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!

2010-12-22T16:57:00.001-08:00

It's my very first double rainbow!!

But I didn't get quite as excited as this guy!

Other Animals Are Cute Too

2010-12-18T22:26:00.000-08:00

This baby monkey and baby boar have become the best of friends at Fukuchiyama City Zoo in Kyoto. They're both orphans and have been at the zoo since June. Heartwarming! I hope they stay friends forever.

Baby Iggy

2010-12-09T01:47:00.000-08:00

Having Chiquitin around and watching him grow every day reminded me of how fast Iggy went from puppy to [obnoxious] boy. So I dug up some old pics and I thought I'd try to embarrass him by sharing some of his baby pics, heehee...

Iggy the first day we brought him home. He was so small his wee-wee touched the ground and we couldn't tell if he was peeing!

I guess he's kinda handsome.

Bay Cities Deli

2010-11-30T23:53:00.000-08:00

Had a nice lunch on the patio at Bay Cities. The crowds are always unbearable here and ten bucks for a sammie seems steep, but one bite of the Don Lorenzo and it's all worth it. And they have a nice doggie-friendly patio!

Left to right: The Godmother, The Spaniard, and my faves, The Don Lorenzo.

Beauty Parlor

2010-11-24T00:08:00.000-08:00

Here are some pics from my recent trip to the Beauty Parlor...

This bulldog was just hilarious. He just made himself at home!

This little pup was so friendly, and just a touch excited, heehee lol.

This is me with my stylist, Victoria. She's the absolute best!

I Heart Shopping

2010-11-21T14:15:00.000-08:00

The air is crisp, the days are shorter...Fall is upon us! Which means that the new Winter/Fall lines are out in the stores, yay! So much cute stuff! I know I have to take it easy this season, you know, because of the recession yada yada, but oh how I love bundling up in cozy sweaters and jackets! And yes, I do already have a well-stocked winter wardrobe, but still....

So many new styles! Must resist! Aah!

Check out this cute top I'm thinking of getting for Chiquis.

Davis!

2010-11-19T12:05:00.000-08:00

I wanted to give Davis a proper introduction in her very own post. As I mentioned in the Halloween post, Cousin Davis is Uncle Salomon's doggie that's visiting us for a while. We're so happy to have her here with us--we haven't seen her since last Christmas! She's a sweetheart through and through and fits right in with us. She's very well-behaved, generous (she lets you have first dibs on all her food), mellow (unless you're a stranger at the door, then she's Super Miss Guard Dog) and has a calming influence on all of us. She's so perfect, it's kind of annoying, hahaha.

Here she is, patiently allowing Chiqui to nibble her ear! She dotes on him so!

Welcome, Davis!

Yummy Yum Yum

2010-11-12T02:48:00.000-08:00

Check out the lovely Steak Frites from Church and State Bistro that I enjoyed recently:

I know, I know, ordering Steak Frites at a French bistro is so cliché, but it's a classic for a reason! And relax, everyone--I didn't have the fries! I know dogs aren't supposed to eat fried food! And besides, I'm cutting back on my carbs. ;)

Halloween 2010

2010-11-12T01:52:00.000-08:00

Sorry for the delay, folks! Without further ado, our Halloween pics....

Iggy was a Chicken...

Black Mambas was Tinkerbell...

I was a Princess, of course!

And, introducing....our cousin Davis! She is Uncle Salomon's baby and she's visiting us for a while.

She was a Pumpkin!

Happy Voting Day!

2010-11-02T22:56:00.000-07:00

Hi, Chickadees! How was your weekend? Mine was super fun and busy! I bet you're wondering what we dressed up as for Halloween. Check back soon for our pics. I'll post them asap.

Hope you all voted today! Hooray for Democracy!

Munchkin in my bed

2010-10-31T03:49:00.000-07:00

Look who's taken a liking to my bed....it's Chiquitín!

Silly Chiquis! I don't blame him, it IS the comfiest, coziest, softest little bed. Way better than his training crate.

More Chiqui Baby

2010-10-26T01:40:00.000-07:00

Here are more pics of the baby. He's more of an attention hog than I am!!

We wanna get as many pics of him as we can before he stops being cute, lol!

Chillin' with Jess and Bryant

2010-10-24T18:42:00.000-07:00

Auntie Jess and her gentleman friend Bryant came over the other night to hang out with us doggy-dogs. We like when they come over 'cause they are fun. They really love us, you can tell:

It's fun when Bryant cuddles because he coos at you in a Scooby-Doo voice as he scratches your belly and makes you feel like you're the only dog in the room! (Notice I'm covering up my lady bits? Always a lady, wink.)

Auntie Jess with her NEW favorite, Chiquitín [sarcastic voice].

Then Bryant treated me us to a private concert.

Ahhh. Nice end to a relaxing night!

Come back soon, Auntie Jess and Bryant!

Back by Popular Demand

2010-10-24T02:32:00.000-07:00

Got lots of requests for more of this little guy on the blog, so I'm begrudgingly obliging. He's cute and all, but I'm feeling like 2nd fiddle these days. It's always Chiqui this and Chiqui that.

In case you were wondering about his size, he's not too much taller than a Coke can. He's waaaay small, like barely a pound I think. Just a teeny little nose nudge and he goes flying! But he has grown so much these last two weeks; it's incredible.

Costume Shopping

2010-10-21T00:28:00.000-07:00

Here are some pics from some Halloween costume shopping I did the other day. I think I still have some shopping to do....

I dunno about the first one--I wanted a Princess costume, you know, but this one seems a little too "Slutty Princess." And the Pumpkin costume is cute but a little on the nose, no? What do you guys think?

Last Halloween

2010-10-19T23:47:00.000-07:00

Ok prepare for the cuteness...So Halloween is just around the corner, as you all know, and we've been planning our costumes for this year. We can't wait! Halloween is one of our favorite holidays! We love to dress up, go to the local doggie Halloween parade and contest (1st and 2nd place the last 2 years, respectively, thank you, thank you) and on Halloween we love to help pass out candy to all the kiddies. Stay tuned for some pics of our costume shopping. For now here are some pics from last year:

I was a French Maid!

Iggy was a banana....

And Black Mamba was Black Mamba, Karate Black Belt!

Mr. Handsome

2010-10-18T03:56:00.000-07:00

Check out this pic of my super good-looking big bro Chairman Meow aka Mr. Kitty Witty. Isn't he so handsome? His eyes are so soulful and sensitive, vulnerable yet strong.....he's like a kitty Jake Gyllenhaal.

"Waaaaaassuuuuup..." Lol.

Chiquitín, Chiquitín, Everybody Chiquitín!

2010-10-16T03:11:00.000-07:00

It's my pleasure to introduce to you all my foster brother, the adorable Chiquitín. He's a chihuahua like me, about 6 weeks old or so. Unfortunately he had to leave his birth mom and siblings too early, so we're fostering him for a while until he gets big and strong and finds his forever home. He is a feisty little cutie, and we all adore him. As the oldest, of course it's my job to babysit. Here are some pics of me babysitting and some cute ones of Chiquitín. Thankfully Iggy took over for me after a while--he's IN LOVE with his little foster brother! Wherever Chiqui goes his big bro is watching over him--so cute it makes my heart melt!

The only downside is next to him I feel like a huge old hag, lol!

Sleepin' on the job.

Movie Night

2010-10-15T02:43:00.000-07:00

Recently I had a relaxing night in and watched one of my new favorite movies--Bolt! It's a fun movie. That Bolt is so silly and sweet! If only I could meet a sincere guy dog like that in real life--let's not even get started on the kinds of guys I've had to pick from! Huff! That gossip's a matter for a different post. Enjoy the pic!

LAX

2010-10-15T02:30:00.001-07:00

Was at LAX recently too, seeing off my grandmother. Love going to the airport--such interesting smells! Especially in the International Terminal, lol!
