Even as a child! My mom would always do a little something special for every holiday. So, I will continue this tradition with my family. I will always make cards, and give small thoughtful gifts to the ones I love. That's what my mom did, and I always looked forward to the goodies, and it's what my children will look forward to as well... and of course I do something special for my husband as well.

Today/Tonight will be a mellow night at home, and then Grant is setting something special up for Saturday night. Date night. :)

Make sure you tell your loved ones that you love them. Tomorrow is not promised. Happy Valentines Day friends!

Look at where Jake was just last year. What a difference a year makes. How fast they grow! Maybe by St. Patricks Day we will have our second son!? EXCITED!!
Everything looks good. Blood pressure is good, I haven't become swollen yet, and overall feeling pretty good. The downside of pregnancy for me is definitely the heartburn. I have it pretty much all day. I refuse to take anything but Tums. I only have a few weeks left, right? I've made it this far... I can do it! ;)

My belly is starting to feel really heavy, and I starting to actually sit and rest here and there through out the day. I'm not a napper, but I took my first nap during this pregnancy this week. Yesterday, Jake took a 2 1/2 hour nap, and for about 45 minutes after I cleaned the house and got cleaned up, I shut my eyes. It was so nice! I was so refreshed when I woke up. Jake's naps are from about 11/11:30am to about 1:30/2pm. So, I manage to get lots done during that time. I can accomplish most things when he's awake, but I like to spend that time with him instead of cleaning or prepping for other things. I think going forward I will take some of that time to sit and rest.

My doctor checked to see if I was dilated or effaced today. I was complaining a little about the pressure so she wanted to check it out. Sure enough I'm about 20/30% effaced. No dilation. Head is really low, in fact she could actually feel his head! This is still VERY early. My pregnancy with Jake was the same way. If I continue to progress the chances of a successful VBAC are much greater! They don't induce and they rarely let you go past your due date. I went into labor at 38.6 weeks with Jake... The day before my c section. :)

In 2 weeks I go to see the Ultrasound Tech that specializes in the babies measurements. We need to start monitoring how big he is or how big he is getting. Today I was back to 34 weeks pregnant. 2 weeks ago I was measuring 2 weeks ahead. So, this will be the most accurate way of finding out. The next day I will see my regular doctor to go over the size and do my 36 week check up. After that... I go weekly!

CRUNCH TIME! I can't believe I've made it to the home stretch. I'm so thankful for all of my good friends, and family that have supported, and encouraged me during these times. Grant has been amazing, and I'm so happy to have a husband that is so hands on. Jake has been the most wonderful little man loving on me and making me smile all day long. Seeing his smile and his laughter makes me want more of these blessings! I'm so happy and fortunate to be able to add another family member to this growing family Grant and I are creating.

Here is what I'm looking like these days:

When Grant got home from work today, we went outside and played with Jake. Jake loves to play on the slide. I unfortunately can't pick him up high enough to put on the slide anymore. It was so fun to goof around and play outside with the music on.

I just wanted to share a little video from today. Jake went down the slide and landed on his feet! It was really cool... if I do say so myself! My big boy! I can't wait until our next little man joins us with our family fun!

Tonight Grant and I are going on a date. Anyhoo, I decided to make a list of things I want to get done before the baby is born.

1. Finally turn my blog into Jake's baby book (from pregnancy to his 12 month birthday). I will make the decision tonight on which website to guide me. Any suggestions on finished products, leave a comment.
2. I want to learn how to sew. I mean seriously, how hard can it be? I want to make my own burp clothes, blankets, etc. Guess I need to start with a sewing machine. Might have to turn to my friend Terra to make baby #2 his things until I can figure this one out. ;)
3. Finish making Baby #2's nursery mobile. I decided to make it out of tissue poms and paper lanterns.
4. Wash all of baby #2's things. Probably start this when I'm 36 weeks. (in 3 weeks).
5. Pack my bag like I'm having a c section... just in case. Probably at 36 weeks.
6. Have big brother/little brother shirts made.
7. Fully put together Baby #2's room. Currently waiting on his bedding and mattress.
8. Finalize my mother's flight. Going to book her like I'm having a c section for March 18th... see what happens, I can always change it.
9. Start baby #2's baby book. Just like I did with Jake. Then all I had to do is place articles and pictures on it.
10. Get a new bassinet. I love the one from Pottery Barn.

Well, that's all I can think of as of now. Since these boys will be close in age, I'm able to utilize some of the same things... this makes life so much easier! A great thing having kids close in age. ;)

I'll be updating this list.

He's my big boy now. I miss those babies stages. Actually, every stage has truly been great. I love seeing this little guy grow, and I do have a hard time seeing him grow up. He's so amazing to me. I have been lucky enough to be home with him everyday and see him grow from a baby to a toddler. And soon I'll get to see Jake be the best big brother to his little brother.

He's so funny. He's a little character. A few things this little guy is up is:

1. If I say, "no, no, no", Jake will respond with a big smile (and pointing his finger like me), "nah, nah, nah".

2. He LOVES his puzzles. He figures them out so quickly. Then depending what kind of puzzle it is he'll point to things and say there names. For example, he has a car/truck puzzle, so he's constantly pointing and saying car!

3. He has 10 teeth that I can see. He hasn't cried much or complained about teething. I haven't given him any kind of medicine for teething either.

4. We are moving away from the bottle. In the morning he likes his "baba", so we are working on just sippy cups.

5. He loves "wa wa (water)! He likes juice too, but I rarely give it to him (probably a few times a week). I mainly give him water, and milk.

6. He's still in size 5 diapers.

7. He wears 3T clothing.

8. His shoe size is a 7.

9. He's napping mainly once a day. Around 11am until about 12:30/1pm. He's not much of a napper. He does sleep from 7pm until 6:30/7am.

10. He loves to run outside, play with the dog, play basketball, and he even likes to color.

11. His favorite foods are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grilled cheese, potato pie (or Shepard's pie), any kind of rice, peas, chicken, turkey meatloaf, etc. He's a pretty good eater.

12. He drinks water, milk, apple juice, orange juice, and a little cranberry.

13. One of my favorite things he does (and he has for awhile now), is if he does something good he'll say, "DID IT" super loud! And he'll either clap for himself or put his arms in the air!

Those are just a few things. Thought I should maintain my blogging for reference with baby #2. Hope you all have a good day!

He doesn't even notice it really. Lately, we've been talking about it a lot. I say, "Jake, look at mommy's tummy, there's a baby in there", and then he rubs it. So sweet. Today, I said, "Jake, there's a baby in my tummy", he walked over to me, climbed in my lap, and hugged it. Then he gave me a kiss! I know... cuteness.

I had my cell phone right next to me, so I was able to capture the moment. He is such a sweet little one. He'll either be 17 or 18 months old depending on when the baby is born. I just feel so lucky to be having another little boy. Jake makes me so happy, and I know that this new little munchkin is going to make me over the moon too. It's going to be so cool seeing these boys grow up together! Playing sports, getting into things, growing bigger than me, accomplishing so much, and spoiling their mommy. ;) Also, seeing them play with all their boy cousins is going to be neat too (3 other boys, plus my 2!). Total of 5 Stones/Badanes!

That is the only down fall with pregnancy for me. I have it in the morning, afternoon, and at night. I take the max on the Tums... Smoothly Tums is what I prefer! ;) Other than that, pregnancy is relatively easy.

It's funny when I think how different things were with Jake verses baby #2. With Jake I could nap, relax, exercise when I wanted to, run errands, etc. With this little munchkin, I'm on the go! Chasing and playing with Jake, and keeping up with everything else. This pregnancy seems to have flown by. I love being pregnant. It's just easier when you don't have a 16 month old in tow. We might have one more little one (if we are fortunate enough), but I will wait until Jake is in school. I can't have 3 in diapers! Can you imagine?

This morning has been amazing. Grant and I usually attend Saddleback Church in Rancho Santa Margarita, but with the 1 hour drive (each way), and Jake, we haven't been attending regularly. We'll watch the service live on our computer though. Today, Grant got up and said... we are going to church. We're going to SeaCoast Grace (were we got baptized), and Jake will go into the kiddie program for an hour. I started to protest, and then I realized... It was time. We need to get back on track. Jake is 16 months, and we have another little one almost here. SeaCoast Grace is close and we should go.

Jake hit the door and went straight in.... didn't even look back for us (or me for that matter)! We went in for the service and I felt awesome! The music and the message where just what I needed today. I'm so thankful that Grant made that decision. I'm so thankful for my life, my family, and for Jesus. Life is so good... And taking communion was amazing. I started getting teary eyed. Thankful for God giving us his only son, and for the path of forgiveness and everlasting life. The most amazing gift. I'm proud to be a Christian woman, and can't wait for Jake to really start understanding how fortunate we are.

Jake got home and is napping (hence my blogging), and when he gets up we are going to go to lunch, the park, and then come home and paint and play in the backyard.

Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Today was about 80 degrees. I know it's hard to believe, but its true.

Today, I was going to head to Disneyland with my friend Liz and her daughter, and then I remembered that I'm 8 months pregnant and have to use the restroom every hour. Plus, lifting Jake is a little more of a challagene. I decided to wait to do that with my muscle man... and stay home and play here!

So, we took it outside!

Jake has play stations all over. Outside, inside, in the car, etc. ;)

He first started on his mat.

Played a little bball.

Went on the swings and on his slide.

He was so dirty we took a bath early!

Then we had tangelos from the tree in our backyard.

We finally read books and colored.
Yesterday I went into the doctor with the thought the baby had flipped to breech. As soon as the doctor walked in the room, I told her my fears. Since I had one breech baby, the chances of another breech baby are pretty high. This baby moves so much, so I figured he had flipped.

He didn't! My little munchkin stayed! And the doctor said he's really far down as well. She said she'd be shocked if he flipped now. It can happen, but with the position he's in, it would be quite the challenge for him. WHAT A RELIEF!

Here are some other things I found out... My little man is measuring 2 weeks ahead again. He is either going through growth spurts or he's going to be big. I'm aiming for a growth spurt! With a VBAC, he should be an average size, not super large. I'm naturally a healthy eater, so all the weight I've gained it going straight to this baby! I've gained about 17 pounds so far. I would like to stay in the 30 pound range. Normal is 25-30 pounds per pregnancy. I think I gained about 39/40 pounds with Jake. But, I started out pretty skinny with Jake. Don't think I completely lost all of my baby weight for baby #2. Seeing that I was only about 8 months out! ha! Anyhow, I don't stress about weight. I enjoy the pregnancy. I eat what I crave (in moderation), and I like to eat healthy for this growing boy!

A lot of people have been emailing about VBAC's and my decision to have one. They ask why? It really is a personal preference. I never wanted a c section with Jake. I was devastated when they told me I had to have one since he was breech. At that point I was consulted about a VBAC (if I decided to have another pregnancy). I made up my mind back in August of 2010 that I would attempt one if I got pregnant again.

Knowing I don't have family close to help me... I don't want to be recovering from a cesarean. I want to be able to be as "normal" as possible for both my little boys. Grant can't work and be a helper at home. I will have our babysitter come in and help a few hours here and there, but it's mainly going to be me. I need to be in fighting shape! Keeping things as normal as possible for Jake, and caring for a newborn! :)

There are so many websites with good information you can google or ask your doctor if your interested in one as well. I know I've been googling for years! My doctor and the hospital is fully equipped to handle VBACs. And you need to make sure your doctor is comfortable with your decision and is also trained in case of an emergency. Not all hospitals will let you do them as well. Long Beach Memorial is a great hospital! They have one of the best neonatal facilities in the country. Not only do I have a great doctor, I will be at a great hospital. It's all God's will.

Factors on my side for a VBAC are:

1. I progressed with my first pregnancy. I dilated, effaced, and my water even broke.

2. The baby is head down.

3. I'm in good health.

4. I've only had 1 c section.

5. At this point my son is "normal size"

Factors that would make me not eligible:

1. He flips to breech.

2. He becomes huge.

3. I develop health problems, ex: high blood pressure.

I have also made the decision to have a cesarean by my due date if I haven't had the baby before that. Past 40 weeks you run the risk of low fluids and baby will keep growing and perhaps get too big. So, if I naturally haven't gone into labor on my own (they don't give you pitocin in a VBAC), then I will have a cesarean on March 18th. I'm not scheduling anything as of yet. I'm going to continue down this path and see what happens.

Thanks for reading my journey! God has a plan... I know that. What is meant to be will be. I will not be disappointed if I can't have a vaginal delivery. I will accept that it's for the best for the baby and myself. I'm just excited for the possible opportunity.

The baby's room is really coming along! All the furniture is in place, I'm just waiting for the bedding and pictures to be made. I'll post a picture later this week of the beginning phase!

Have a great day!

Better late then never, right? I wanted to wish all my friends a very happy and prosperous New Year!
This is the year of the Dragon. Baby #2 will be a Dragon!

Personality

Occupying the 5th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Dragon is the mightiest of the signs. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition. Dragons prefer to live by their own rules and if left on their own, are usually successful. They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. They’re passionate in all they do and they do things in grand fashion. Unfortunately, this passion and enthusiasm can leave Dragons feeling exhausted and interestingly, unfulfilled.

While Dragons frequently help others, rarely will they ask for help. Others are attracted to Dragons, especially their colorful personalities, but deep down, Dragons prefer to be alone. Perhaps that is because they’re most successful when working alone. Their preference to be alone can come across as arrogance or conceitedness, but these qualities aren’t applicable. Dragons have tempers that can flare fast!

Health

Considering their hard-working nature, Dragons are healthy overall. They do get stressed and suffer from periodic tension/headaches, likely because they take so many risks. Dragons could benefit from incorporating mild activity into their lives. Yoga or walking would be good as these activities can work both their minds and their bodies.

Career

Dragons prefer leading to being led. Jobs that allow them to express their creativity are good choices. Some good careers include: inventor, manager, computer analyst, lawyer, engineer, architect, broker, and sales person.

Relationships

Dragons will give into love, but won’t give up their independence. Because they have quick, sometimes vengeful tempers, their partners need to be tough-skinned. Dragons enjoy others who are intriguing, and when they find the right partners, they’ll usually commit to that person for life.

Water Dragons are able to see things from other points of view. They don’t have the need to always be right. Their decisions, if well-researched, are usually better since they allow other’s to become involved.

Compatibility

Dragons are compatible with the Monkey or Rat and incompatible with the Ox and Goat.

Jake is the year of the Tiger.
Personality

Occupying the 3rd position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Tiger symbolizes such character traits as bravery, competitiveness and unpredictability. Tigers love to be challenged and will accept any challenge if it means protecting a loved one or protecting their honor. They don’t worry about the outcome because they know they’ll always land on their feet. Don’t let their calm appearance fool you though; Tigers will pounce when they feel it’s necessary.

Born to lead, Tigers can be stubborn if they realize they’re not in charge. They have a slight tendency to be selfish but overall, Tigers are extremely generous. They’re very intelligent and they’re always on alert. Tigers are very charming and are well-liked by others. They are not motivated by money or power.

Health

As they do their enemies, Tigers have a tendency to pounce on their work. Afterwards, they’re left feeling exhausted. Although they’ll soon bounce right back, over time this approach can cause problems with their health. Tigers need to develop a more balanced approach to life so they can utilize their energy more efficiently.

Career

Tigers have a continual need to be challenged which may explain why they jump from job to job. This isn’t necessarily a problem because they’re smart and able to quickly master new subjects. The best jobs for Tigers are those that will lead them towards positions of leadership. Some suitable careers for Tigers include: advertising agent, office manager, travel agent, actor, writer, artist, pilot, flight attendant, musician, comedian and chauffeur.

Relationships

Creative in their passion, Tigers will never bore their partners. They’re expressive, polite and trustworthy, but watch out. Tigers tend to dominate their relationships. This tendency is instinctive and when monitored closely, such behavior can be kept under control. Partners need to be equally active to keep up with the Tiger’s sense of adventure.

Tigers and the 5 elements - metal for 2010

Assertive, competitive and sharp, once Metal Tigers set their sights on their goals there’s no stopping them. They’ll always do what’s necessary to remain at the center of attention. Metal Tigers tend to jump to conclusions; a behavior they need to work at improving.

Compatibility

Tigers are compatible with a Dog and a Horse and are incompatible with a Goat and an Ox.

Grant is the year of the Goat (1979), and I'm the year of the Monkey (1980). You can read more about them here: Chinese Zodiac
Have a great day... and a Happy New Year!
I went from small belly to big belly overnight! I've been reading old blog posts from when I was pregnant with Jake and it brings tears in my eyes. Being pregnant is such a gift. Life is a gift!

Weight gain:

I believe I'm at about 15 pounds. I'm so active with Jake, I'm pretty sure I'm burning lots of calories. Plus, with the heartburn I've been eating pretty darn healthy and light. I just make sure I'm snacking all day!

Pregnancy symptoms:

The heartburn has gotten worse. Grant swears I was like this with Jake too. I slept on the couch 3 times last week, because almost sitting straight up is better. Plus, this baby is moving like crazy. Not so much the kicking... It's the rolling and moving that keeps me up. He's pretty active!

Doctor blogging:

I go to the OBGYN every 2 weeks now! I actually go in tomorrow. So, I will update on that blog!

Here is an updated picture of me:

This weekend was busy... like usual! I had 2 birthdays to attend and 2 important games to watch! ha! I celebrated my good friend Liz's birthday at the race track on Friday night, and my other good friend Katy's birthday was celebrated on Saturday!

I seriously have a knack for the horse races! I'm not kidding. This is my 6th time going and I always leave a winner. I've learned how to read the stats and then with luck... I win! I usually play the winning horse, and I do an exacta box (with 3 horses). That means, I bet on the horse I feel will win the entire race, and then I choose the top 3 finishers (and with the exacta box they can come in any order). Anyhow, mama got a pair of Tom Ford glasses out of this trip! woo hoo! ;)

I also took Jake to get his hair cut... again! I take him every month. This kiddo has lots of hair! It's thick, wavy, and blonde. I'd like to think he has my hair... but, I'm sure he's got Grant's hair too! ;) Look at how cute my little monkey is! Jake is such a happy boy. The older he gets the sweeter he gets! I'm serious! If I say, "Jake, give momma a kiss", he comes running up to me and plants a big one on me! And then he hugs me and pats my back. I just melt! I wonder how he'll be with his brother? I'm sure he'll wonder what the heck the baby is doing here... but, he'll adjust and love him like crazy! The thing we'll have to work on is sharing. Jake is used to being the only one... so, the challenge will be sharing me, toys, and time. But, I will do my best to keep things as "normal" as possible. I read a great article my friend posted on becoming a mommy of 2. It was a good read, and it gave me some tips. The majority of what I hear is that it's tough in the beginning and then it gets easier as they get older. They will be about 17 months apart... I'm up for the challenge... obviously!

Well, until my doctor appointment blogging... have a wonderful Monday!

When I was single my girls and I would bike ride along the coast (usually involving champagne), go wine tasting, catch up on movies, TV, laundry, sleep, and our weekly gossip (not in any particular order - ha!). When I met Grant it meant, sports, friends, traveling, wine tasting, sleeping in (yes... I can hardly imagine what that is like now), relaxing, and just enjoying each other's company (again... just examples).

Sunday Fun-day is quite different after you have kiddos. It's even better! We get up in the morning, get ready for the day, and go to our family breakfast. After breakfast we either go shopping for things we need or want, and come home to plenty of sports. Then we take it outside! Jake plays on many of toys and plays on his swing set outside. We play until the little guy starts heading towards the door. Then we come in to shower and get ready for dinner. Relax as a family and watch TV. We then put the little guy down and head to our room to relax and get ready for another week.

It's not always just like that... but, the weekends are family time. I have such wonderful weeks staying home with Jake, and playing with my mommy friends, but when it comes to the weekend it's time for our little family to hang out. Everything we do we can do with Jake. Whether we go to Long Beach State games, travel around locally, go out to eat, hang out with friends, go to church, etc. It's our time to bound. It's what I look forward to all week. Jake loves to play with his dad! He loves to play with me... but, play is so different between a father and a son.

CSULB basketball game on Saturday night.

Well, since it is Sunday... this blog is taking away from our relaxing husband and wife time. I shall post some pics from our weekend and close down for the night. I hope you all had a great weekend!

I'm officially in count down mode. The furniture for the nursery is in route to my house, and I think I'm having the babies bedding made. I will make that decision by the end of the week. Color scheme is royal blue, grey, and a hint of yellow. Everything is going smoothly. Other than my heartburn. Just like with Jake. Wonder if this baby will have lots of hair as well?

We think we have the name officially! We are between 2 names. We aren't saying the names yet. Because we keep going back and forth. Both names have meanings, and are very special to us. We actually might wait until he's born to decide! We'll see if we can wait to choose. :)

It's just so hard to believe I'm in count down mode again. Amazing. I'm so excited to be meeting my new son. Grant is thrilled beyond belief! What parent isn't excited, right?

My doctors appointment is on Tuesday, so we'll be getting the update on size, health, and what position he's in. I'm feeling better every day since I was in the hospital earlier in the week. Thanks for everyone that has called and messaged me. I'm have such incredible friends. Knowing that I have a group of girlfriends that I can count on at any given time is so nice. Makes me so happy.

Here is an updated picture I took. I had to take it myself or I'd forget to have Grant take one of me. I was really good about taking pictures of Jake... but, now we're so busy... it's hard to remember.
We had such a fun time! We spent about 10 days there. I swear it seems like we're there only a short week. Jake was loved on the entire time we were there. He was so spoiled. He followed Dylan everywhere! Dylan is the best. He played so much with him. And when Dylan's friends would come over they'd all play with Jake too. He was so happy to be playing with the "big boys".

This was the first year I'd spent in Boise over Christmas without snow. It was cold, but not too bad. There was snow one morning, but it quickly burned off. The boys were able to play golf a few times, and us girls were able to get our coffee's, massages, lunches, and even some shopping. It was nice and relaxing.

We went to a nice church service and even went back and met with our pastor there. Pastor Tom is great! It was nice to catch up and tell him all about what we've been up to. We even talked about dedicating our next son over the fall. It's nice to have someone to talk to about things that are going on, and have someone pray with you. I just wish we could attend his church more regularly. Who knows what the future will bring, right? ;)

Well, after those 10 days, it was time for us to head home. Grant needed to get back to work, and I needed to get myself and Jake back on track. After spending that time with my family and seeing Jake play with another boy, I'm so excited to have my next son. I know that the 17 month age difference will be hard, but I know that they will be best friends. I'm so happy to be having another boy. I love watching him play, and get into things. The exploring is so exciting for him... it makes me a little nervous at times... but, I'm never too far away.

Thank you mom, dad, grandma, and Dylan for making our trip so fun! It was one of the best Christmas's to date! In fact, this year as a whole has been so fun! Every holiday just gets better with having kids and a full house. Thank you each and every one of you for making 2011 so memorable. Cheers to a new year full of blessings!

Here are some pictures of our trip:
I called my doctor (OBGYN) at 3:30am and told her what was going on with me. She told me to try ginger ale, chicken broth, crackers, and so on. So, my wonderful husband went out to find me those items. The doctor also said that if I can't keep anything down, then I need to admit myself into Labor and Delivery.

Grant came home and I started to sip a little on the chicken broth, and ginger ale. I was more comfortable on the couch, so Grant sat right next to me and bought a movie for us to watch together. I managed to close my eyes for an hour. I then woke up and got sick! Being sick is horrible, but when your 7 months pregnant... it's even worse!

I decided to call back the doctor. The doctor said to go to the hospital. I left Jake at home with Grant and I drove in. I got there and went right up into my room. Monitors went on the baby immediately, and he was doing just fine. He is so strong in fact that he was kicking the monitor right off him. The nurse had to come in several times to adjust it. She thought it was from me moving... not my little guy. Then they drew my blood, and put my IV in. I was so dehydrated they could barely find a vein. As they were putting my IV in I threw up again. Only I almost threw up on the nurse. Another nurse ran in and brought a bed pan for me. There went my Gatorade. :/

After the IV was in and they gave me medicine to stop throwing up, things got better. The lights went off and I was able to lay there and relax. After a few hours I was able to leave.

The culprit. A virus. From what? Could be from traveling... ONCE AGAIN! Remember when Jake had a virus in Oklahoma, and had to go to the hospital? Well, apparently we all have sensitive stomachs! :)

Last night my sweet husband got sick. I feel so bad. Poor guy. After all his care and love for me. My husband is amazing. Holding back my hair, rubbing my back, holding me, going to the store in the middle of the night, sleeping on the couch next to me because it's the only place this pregnant lady feels comfortable. He's awesome. I'm one lucky girl! Not only is he a hard working man, he's a family man. He is my best friend. Always making sure Jake, baby #2, and I are happy.

Well here's to a healthy New Year! At least we are getting these illnesses done before our new little guy arrives. My camera arrived yesterday, so I will upload those pics and blog tonight!
No c section. :) It depends on a few factors though. My due date is March 18. I'm scheduled for a c section on either March 10 or March 11. But, if this baby stays head down, and I naturally progress (dilate, efface, etc), then I will be heavily monitored and will go for it. Factors against me would be, he flips to breech, or I don't progress. Having my sons so close in age is also a factor against me.

I'm just so excited I might have the opportunity! I have been praying for a VBAC, but know that God is the one in charge. So, I have faith that what is meant to be will be. I won't be upset either way. End result... healthy and happy little boy!

Today was only my 4D ultrasound. My regular doctor appointment is next Tuesday. I will have more details on the baby then! So, check back next week for the update.

If your wondering why I haven't posted anything about Christmas yet... I left my camera in Boise. So, that is currently en route to my house... Will be posting those soon... I hope!

I wanted to at least post a little update on Jake.

Jake had his 15 month baby well check last week and he's doing great! He's growing like crazy. He's in the 90th percentile for weight, and over a 100th for height. He's 28 pounds and 34 1/2 inches. The doctor checked his height twice just to confirm. I guess they see me and can't believe how tall my little man is. Then I remind them that my husband is 6'8, and it all makes sense. ;)

Our little guy is talking like crazy. Mainly lots of chatter. And then he has his core words. It's so cool hearing his new words. He loves to point at things so I can explain what they are. He's very inquisitive.

He's running all over and climbing on everything. He is so much fun to play with. He loves to play outside and hang out with older kids. He's not too interested in younger kids or babies. Just the older ones. Perhaps because they are more his size and are playing actual sports. While he's been in Idaho he's been kicking around the soccer ball, throwing a football, and playing basketball. My little sports fan. Next time we are here he'll be on the golf course with his uncle! :)

Here is a video of this silly monkey:
I will post about Christmas, and our vacation soon! Hope everyone has a wonderful New Years!

All are heart felt. All are great. I started to think... why haven't I written on this topic? After all, I am a mom to a boy... and another on the way, right?

Growing up I wasn't sure I would have kids. I thought a career, and buying all the designer items was the ONLY way to live. WRONG. Dylan (my younger brother was born when I was 23), my life changed. This little boy was everything to my family (and still is), and I wanted one... one day! Then, I met the man of my dreams. Loving, kind, loyal, sensitive, and most of all... patient. Someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Then the talks began. Kids. My husband wanted lots of kids (He told me this from the start... and he wanted them right after we got married too). I knew I wanted 2. I knew I wanted a boy. I always knew I wanted a little boy named Jake. Then God blessed us with him.

How amazing is that? How amazing is it that God is blessing me with another little boy? This will be a house full of little men. Wait, nothing is little in this house... but, ME! I'm 5'4. These boys will protect and love me FOREVER! I'm so lucky!

I have written many letters to my little monkey Jake, and I will continue to. Just like my mom did for my brother and I. When she was happy with us... and when she was mad with us. ;) Grant and I have talked over and over if we will have more kiddos one day and that is still undecided... as for now. I will love and cherish the men in my life. I will strive to be the best mommy/wife I can be. That is what I was meant to be.

Until, March... Here is a letter to my main little man:

Jake Bowman,

You are beautiful, inside and out. I look at you several times a day and wonder how I got so lucky to be your mommy. I love hearing you say... mama. Even if your screaming it. ;) They are the sweetest words. I am your mommy. A very proud mommy. You are so special to me, and everything you do amazes me. Watching you grow into a little boy is priceless. Your growing so fast! Sometimes I wish time would stop. Mainly while I'm holding you and your staring back.

I know there will be many bruises, stitches, and perhaps broken bones in the future... I am prepared to be your nurse. I'm excited to sit on the side lines and scream for you at ALL your sporting events. I'm prepared to take you to your first day of school... and NOT cry. I'm ready for that first heartbreak too. And it will take everything your father has to hold me back from getting involved. I will be here for everything you go through. I will try and make you happy when your sad, and laugh with you when your happy!

I will raise you to love your brother more than anything. I will raise you both to care and protect each other... even when your so mad at each other. You both will fight... but, you will ALWAYS make up. If I do anything in this world it will be for you 2 to be very successful, in everything you do. Always striving for the absolute best.

Thank you for enchring my life with so much love and happiness everyday.

Love you forever,
Mommy

PS. Your dad loves you so much, and is just as proud as I am. He's not a blogger though. ;) Here is a song that your dad had me listen to when we found out that you were a boy. I had tears in my eyes, and still get teary eyed listening to it. You look so much like your daddy! We'll have to see "if your anything like him".
This was Jake's 5th time on a plane, so I wasn't too worried about the way he would react. However, now that he's super mobile I didn't realize how much of a difference that could make!

First off, he didn't sleep... at all! ;) He was pretty good... but, he just wanted to get down and check out everything. Finally after 3 hours of play (on our laps) we were there!

It was nice seeing my sisters in laws, brother in law, and mother in law. It's pretty cool seeing our families grow. All the little boys are going to have fun growing up together. They are all close in age too. Jackson is 4, Jake is 1, and Miller is 3 months. Lee Anne and I are both pregnant with little boys too. Looks like our due dates are like 2 days apart. So, we just may have these little ones on the same day or close! Can you imagine getting the family together when there are 5 boy cousins running around? ;)

The second night we were there Grant and I had a little scare. Jake woke up around 10pm screaming. I couldn't console him. After 2 hours of crying, he threw up all over me. Mass amounts too. The screaming continued. If you know Jake... you know that this is a very happy child! And this is also a child that sleeps completely through the night as well. He didn't have a fever, but something was off. I called our pediatrician in CA. The pediatrician said to take him to the ER. So, Grant and I went to the Children's Hospital ER. Turns out he may have just had a little virus he picked up from the plane or ate something funny during the day. Either way, he was OK! No medicine necessary. I just gave him LOTS of liquids and made his diet easy on his tummy. It was pretty scary. Being far from home and worried about getting home. He was so much better the next day, so our flight was actually pretty pleasant.

Here is a little video of Jake in the ER (at 3am). Being his normal silly self!

Other than that... everything else was great! It was so wonderful seeing Grant's family! I love spending time with Jackson, and now Miller! I'm glad I was able to spend time with Miller, feeding him, watching him sleep and snuggling. The time goes by so fast! I'll never forget it. I love my nephews to pieces!

Here are some pics from the trip. I didn't take many... we were so busy!
I said, "Thank you, but Jake is a boy". She said he was so pretty, and had beautiful hair! So, today... I decided to take Jake in for another hair cut! This kid has LOTS of hair! He LOVED the place I took him today. He got to sit in a car, watch Elmo, and have fun. It was super kid friendly, and the hairdressers are great!
He's such a big boy! He loves to explore and get into everything. It's funny when you look back at pictures from just a few months ago and see how different they look. They do grow up fast, so I'm just trying to take it all in. Not only does he have 4 teeth now... but, he's also getting 4 more in! His teeth come in 4's. Poor little monkey! He's doesn't even complain about them. I heard the molars are the worst though... Bracing myself for that one!

Grant and I have actually been utilizing our passes to Disneyland! I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Have I mentioned that before? I have been really excited to head there for all the decorations! We have only been going in the morning lately. So, our next trip will have to be in the early evening... I heard it's snowing on Main St! The only snow we'll have down here unless we head to the mountains, or fly to visit family. ;)

I just wanted to share a few pics. Jake is REALLY big into giving kisses right now. I guess it's a combination of him seeing Grant and I kiss... and Grant and I kissing him. Grant literally has this little guy come running up to us kissing us! It's adorable. He's so cuddly. I just love the affection. Hoping he loves his brother this much in March too! Wonder if they'll look alike? Or maybe this baby boy will look like me? What are the chances? ;)

He mainly loves to run off on his own and explore. Now that I'm 6 months pregnant, I need Grant to go and chase after him. I just take pictures and push the stroller. he he.

Jake marched right into Mickey's house. Here is Jake sitting on Mickey's chair! That kid LOVES Mickey Mouse. He officially has 6 Mickey's. Yep. No lie.

Yesterday we went to South Coast Plaza to see Santa. I made sure I did a little research first though. Santa's have always scared me... just a little. This Santa didn't look so scary. He was pretty friendly as well. It's not like Victoria and Jake can tell him what they want for Christmas. It's more for the memories we can give them later. Remember when... right?

Here is Jake and his best friend Victoria. They are 3 weeks apart. :)
Grant and I do our usually charities, and ones that come along the way.... but, what are we doing for families in need right now? What am I being called to do for other families in need?

The other day I was driving, and I came to a light and gave a man money. He said God bless you to me as I gave him money. His sign said, "hungry, please help". I know that there are LOTS of people out there that have signs and reasons, but I felt for this person. I got tears in my eyes. I have lots of food, a nice car, a warm home, people I love, and that love me, etc. I always have a home to go to. Then I started thinking... what are the families that are having a hard time getting by going to do for food this holiday season? I began to sob. My heart breaks for the people that are working so very hard in this world and still not making ends meet. I knew I needed to do something.

I called my church on Wednesday. How can I help? Can I help at the pantry give away? Can I donate a meal to a family... But, I was too late. The meals were already collected and passed out. This was NOT good enough for me. I called another church. A church closer to my home and asked how I could help. Same answer. No one was present, and the food was already donated.

I began to think. Then it dawned on me. Rescue Missions! Women's shelters! I called the Long Beach Rescue Mission. They said that they were serving dinner the night before Thanksgiving, and serving a breakfast on Thanksgiving. The dinner would be served at 3pm. I didn't have enough time to get a whole dinner to the mission in time so I decided to supply a breakfast.

I went to my local grocery store where I bought my makings for our Thanksgiving dinner and picked up breakfast makings. This was the least I could do!

I donated 5 dozen eggs, 4 boxes of pancake mix, milk, and orange juice. I know it can't feed an entire city... but, I know this will help many families! I also dropped off clothes, a baby bath, baby blankets, and much more to the Lydia house. The women's shelter.

As I pulled up there was a line around the corner. People waiting in line for there Thanksgiving meal. I began to cry. I began to thank God for all that I have. I'm so lucky. I made a vow to myself right then and there. I told myself that EVERY holiday I would do for either my church or mission. I have donated food, school supplies, clothes, etc... but, never have I gone to a home and dropped it off. Jake was with me. He of course had no idea what was going on... but, I will make sure my boys go with me. They will see how to help others and to be thankful. The people thanked me. It took everything in me to not cry in front of them. They kept saying, "God bless you", but I said it right back. I will be praying for those people.

This Christmas I will be in Boise. I am calling our pastor to see how I can help there. Whether I work at a shelter, or supply food. I will be doing something.

I pray that other's donate time or food if possible. I encourage you to do more.

This year, Grant ran the Turkey Trot here in Long Beach (Jake and I went along for support... and of course Grant ran is pretty darn quick without even training), went to a local restaurant for breakfast, and then I made our Thanksgiving fest while Grant played with Jake. It was relaxing, and one of the most fun holidays! I love my little family! Later my brother and his wife came over and we had dessert. Lots of pies, cookies, and ice cream. It was very nice to see them. Ashley is due with their first baby girl this December. Madison will be the first girl grandchild, and my grandma's first great granddaughter! So cool, right?

Tonight we are having a friends dinner. I'm so thankful for the people that surround us!

Here is my little man on Thanksgiving (It's so hard to get a picture of him nowadays):
I'm thankful for everything in my life. My growing family, my parents, my husbands family, and our friends. We have a wonderful circle of people that surround us.

This week I'm thankful for the 2 1/2 men in my life! Grant, Jake, baby boy #2! They're what makes my heart beat. They make me so happy!

I'm glad I chose Grant to spend the rest of my life with, and that he chose me. He understands me. He knows how to make me happy, even when I'm sad. And loves me unconditionally. It's so nice to have someone that is caring and thoughtful in your life. I love that no matter how stressful his day is he walks in, kisses and hugs me, and grabs our son. I love that he kisses me and hugs me like we are still dating. I love the moments we spend as a family, and our date nights. He is my best friend. I'm a lucky lady!

God has blessed me with 2 little boys. My little monkey that is 14 months old, and my unborn lil monkey that is only 23 1/2 weeks along. Watching Jake grow from a newborn, to an infant, into a toddler is amazing. They grow so fast. Seeing how they discover new things, and learn is so cool. I love that he kisses and hugs me during the day. I love that he is the sweetest little boys I know.

And lastly, I'm thankful for those little kicks. Even the kicks in the middle of the night. The kind of kicks that startle you because there so strong. I'm thankful for those. A little reminder that life is growing! I pray for his health and happiness. I pray that I'm the best mommy to these boys. I will do everything in my power to make sure they are happy and successful. That is my purpose.

I hope everyone is thankful for all they have. Happy Thanksgiving friends and family! :)

I remember with Jake each week too forever! I read every book I could get my hands on and worked on my registry like it was a second job! jk. ha ha. Now, I'm just going along with the flow. I know I'm so busy with Jake so I don't have much time to think about what's going on. I am keeping my eye on the prize. That's my due date! ;)

So far, I've gained a total of 5 pounds, and I feel good! Just tired. I'm not much of a sleeper, and when I'm pregnant I wake up for a few hours in the middle of the night. I'm usually up around 2am. I have good nights and bad nights with sleep. And the heartburn is back. So, does that mean the wives tale will be true with baby #2? Will he have a full head of hair as well? ;)

Baby number 2 is measuring 2 weeks ahead! The due date is a true date as well. I went in when I was only 4 weeks, so my doctor isn't going to change the date. So, either my little man has either had a growth spurt or he's going to be a big one! Either way I pray for a healthy baby boy!

On Saturday, Grant said he was going to take me out. He asked what I wanted to do and I told him jokingly, "I'd like a massage". Well, the first stop on our night out was Burke Williams. My favorite local spa. We went in for massages, and then we went to one of my favorite local restaurants, Mahe. I ordered lots of cooked rolls, and even had a veggie roll. It was for sure one of my favorite dates we've had! So relaxing! It was awesome. I appreciate my husband so much! He always does little things like this to make me happy! Oh... and I've been sleeping through the night since Saturday. Looks like I need to make sure I'm getting pregnancy massages every month... (hint hint babe). ;)

I'm eating lots of Thai/Chinese, Mexican, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. When all less fails I eat the peanut butter and jelly. Chicken is NOT something I want with this pregnancy either. I drink lots of water and cranberry juice! I LOVE CRANBERRY JUICE! And the sweets. Oh the sweets. I've been doing a little browsing on Pinterest and found some great recipes. So, I will continue to make the things that look yummy!

Jake has been such a wonderful little guy! He's getting so big. When I hold him he's half the size of me. When Grant holds him... he still looks like a baby. I love being a mom. I can't wait for my second son to get here! I know it's going to be crazy with 2 boys under 2, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. I have a feeling that Jake will be an excellent big brother!

Here is an updated picture of me. I wore this dress when I was 6 months pregnant last year! Next week... I'm 6 months! I can almost start the count down!
The mommy friends that I do things with during the week. I don't really want to say names, but there are a few girlfriends that I spend a considerable amount a time with and have become very important to me. Liz and Danielle. You ladies are like sisters to me. God has really blessed me with such wonderful women to be around. It's hard enough being a mommy, but a stay at home... 24/7 mommy... can be quite challenging. I'm so thankful to be able to spend time with you ladies during the week... and sometimes weekend! ;)

Our munchkins back in Jan. Looks how little they were!

We all know that being a mom can be challenging. Challenging when you went from working full time since you were 18 years old, to being home. Challenging when you don't have ANY family around to relieve you. Challenging when your husband travels often and your alone with a busy toddler, and not to mentioned pregnant. ;)

There is also a lot of fun that comes with being home. Watching Jake do everything right in front of my eyes! Knowing that I'm home if there this little monkey ever needs me, playing at Gymboree (love you Noelle Kailey), and playing and learning all day long! Personally, I know that I would be very uncomfortable if I wasn't in the know of what Jake was doing all day. Guess, that's part of who I am.

I'm so lucky for these women. These women that go to the park, lunch, shop, talk, cry, laugh, share stories about our little ones, help babysit, give advice, etc. They are my sisters. They are Christian women that believe that our God doesn't give you more than what you can handle! I can share everything with them. I'm so fortunate for them. I can count on them!

It doesn't mean that I don't absolutely LOVE my other mommy friends or my other girlfriends... it just means, I spend so much time with these ladies, they need to know I appreciate them. I will be sending out lots of cards today. To the women that work, stay home, have been there to support, love, and care for us at The Stone house. Thank you.

Thank you all for impacting my life. Thank you for showing me I'm not alone. Thank you for sharing God's words with me at time of need. Thank you for sharing God's word not in the time of need. We are truly lucky to have all that we have.

My besties! Lexi, Kristy, Liz, me, Jewelz, Danielle, and Kerilyn. (Missing from pic is Katy)

Love,
