Three big The Strand news items.

We have shipped 97% all of the Kickstarter packages. If you are one of the two people who's T-Shirt is still in production, we have already contacted you to let you know. Everyone else, it's in the mail and should be arriving shortly!
We are currently filming a short movie that will air at the CD release party. The movie is a large production featuring many amazingly talented people. Production is going well. I think it's safe to say we have a greater respect for actors and all that goes into making movies. Long hours and more setup than I ever thought.
The CD release party is booked. It will feature the presentation of this movie, throughout the night before each band plays. The bands are The Strand, Hardwire, and Ikonoklast and the event will take place Sat. June 30 at Chasers in Scottsdale AZ.

Thanks again to Bar Sinister for being amazing hosts and allowing us to rock in front of so many wonderful CA peoples. The crowd was amazing, and we had a totally ass-kicking time. Thanks again Hollywood, got to hang with some great people. Also, the sound guy, the big door guy with the metal teeth, Lyssa, and Kent were awesome. Well, now all we can do is wait. We have gotten all the art and assembled the final PDFs (Thanks to Cloud Quinot, and Shayne Bohner for their original artwork. Cloud did art for Combat Advantage and Shayne did art for Instrumental Combat), and all the mastering is complete thanks to an AMAZING job by Steve of NRMastering!

This morning I uploaded all of the files to discmakers.com and they have emailed me to let me know the process of replication has begun! If all goes well we should have both Combat Advantage, and Instrumental Combat CDs by the end of April! (Not in time for the Pirate Party) Oh, also the shirts are done thanks to a great job by Reckless TShirts!

All of this wouldn't be possible if it were not for 58 marvelous fans and friends who contributed to our kickstarter fund. With their contributions we raised $1900 to fund this release, and appreciate every one who helped out. Once the CDs have arrived we will begin the process of packing and delivering all of the Shirts, CDs, MP3s, and assorted goodie bags.

For the time being here is a sneak peak at some of the final album art.

Ultimate thanks to everyone who contributed to our successful kickstarter campaign and a special shout out to Corry S. who in the last hour INCREASED their donation from $25 to $38 just to push us up to the $1900 mark! Way cool. I am literally dropping the files off for Mastering today with www.NRMastering.com. Then the art comes and then it's off for pressing. Those who have donated to the kickstarter will get the discs and shirts as soon as they are available. Stay tuned for announcements regarding our official CD release party.

Pirate Party and Combat Advantage update!

The Strand is nearing completion of our new album titled "Combat Advantage", and thanks to the fans this new CD is completely funded via the Kickstarter page, where you can pre-order the new album and shirts. Combat Advantage will be completed in April 2012 and will be available for purchase in May of 2012. Hey we also have a halfway decent Facebook page if you need to reach us.Also on April 21st The Strand is hosting our second annual Pirate Party! And this time, Ninjas are welcome. We will have two amazing DJs, dj con and DJ_DARK_MARK and as always a live performance by The Strand. It'll be at Chasers, so swing by the event page for more details.

Last night kicked a lot of major ass you guys! Thanks so much for making it a memorable one, and thanks SO much to all the people who bought cds. We don't have all the details but FRIDAY APRIL 9th at the Venue of Scottsdale, The Strand is performing at the Horns and Halos ZOMBIE BALL. These events are always sick and this time we are honored to be opening for grammy award winning DJ CHRIS VRENNA (Of NIN and Manson!) I also hear that SQUALOR will be DJing. Other information tba, but start putting together your Zombie costume! We're pulling together a set-list for the gig. Maybe play some scary music to match the Zombie theme.

Hi, we're reworking some of the front page here at strandland.com, so some things like positioning may be a little wonky for a few days.

FYI: We are experimenting with streaming our band practice, and occasionally streaming our songwriting too. Here are two links. In a few minutes, we will attempt to stream some brief songwriting, so tune in at 11:40am Thursday, or you should be able to watch the archive if you miss it live.

There are two upcoming gigs, first of all we're playing with a SLEW of bands including Access Zero and Laconic this coming Saturday October 24th at the Venue of Scottsdale. It's gunna be frickin crazy, the promoter tells us that there are already 700 presale tickets sold. $10 presale

The Strand is confirmed to open for NITZER EBB DEC 16th when they come thru on their Industrial Complex Tour. It will be at the Marquee Theater, I have presale tickets already for sale at our shop. Our gig last night was amazing! Thank you SO MUCH to *Sadisco for having us on, and eternal thanks to the fans for your heart-felt support. You guys/gals are the freak'n best. It was PACKED! I know there are many photos to come.

I would like to let everyone know that our friends Vertigo Venus are coming thru town and many of The Strand members will be hanging out this Thursday to see them and Human Experimentation play. (October 1st) It's at Chasers again, just to clarify The Strand is only hangin out, not playing. So come and have a beer with us, I won't be running around like a maniac, and should have more time to kick it.

And yes, our next gig is October 24th at the VENUE of SCOTTSDALE. Ooooh, Ahhhh! Big stage, big venue. We're playin there with Access Zero and a bundle of other varied acts for a Halloween festival by K&Z Productions. Actually I have presale tickets for that, it's just 10 bucks if you buy them presale and there's like ten billion bands, so it's worth it. It was great to return to the stage last night with the band and play a great set. I'm really glad people like our new song, sorry we don't have a title for it yet. Heh. Anyhow, many thanks to our fans for rockin out on a Wednesday night. Also major props to Hardwire who tore it up, and it was a great honor to share the stage with SMP and Stiff Valentine who kicked some major ass up there, and were a pleasure to work with. Photos and vids on the way.

For those who've been asking, here's a flyer for the next Strand-related gig.

Additionally, I am hooking up Vertigo Venus with a gig on October 1st which features Human Experimentation, Vertigo Venus, and Mute City Radio. (The Strand isn't performing that one, but will be there to make sure it goes well, and have a beer or two.)
