The Strangest Adventures

Bernie Sanders! Winner of New Hampshire?

2020-02-11T01:39:00.000-05:00

Andy Marlette - Pensacola News-Journal @pnj.com

Is Bernie Sanders going to be the next president of the United States? He did well in 2016, coming in second among Democrats and gathering an army of dedicated fans.

And he’s running again in 2020! He is running as a democrat but the first campaign literature of his I have seen was from the The Democratic Socialists of America. The DSA endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for president of the United States last year even though he is running as a Democrat. In fact he signed a loyalty oath to the Democratic party!

If you want to support Bernie’s run for POTUS look here.

In a recent, poorly conducted caucus in Iowa, Bernie Sanders - and there were mixed results - received the most votes but Pete Buttigieg led with the most delegates, but only by .1 percent! Bernie Sanders says Iowa “screwed up” caucus results.
No surprise that the vote is being challenged by both of them!

Moving on to New Hampshire, on September 11 they hold the first primary in the nation. Bernie Sanders won New Hampshire by 20 points in 2016. Will he win this year too?

Will Mayor Pete be a challenge for him? Will Biden be a problem? Will the many others prove to be trouble?

Today is the 2020 Primary in New Hampshire. We predict that Bernie Sanders will win but we know that this primary will be extremely important for future success or failure for all the candidates and wish them good luck.

Spoiler Alert!

2019-01-30T16:51:00.000-05:00

Howard Schultz is a former Starbucks CEO hoping to run as an independent for president of the United States. Independent presidential candidates are considered, in election parlance, spoilers- a non-winning candidate whose presence on the ballot affects which candidate wins.

The most important thing to know about him is that historians say if he runs as an independent, Howard Schultz could re-elect Donald Trump!

When Howard recently appeared at a Union Square Barnes and Noble, a book store patron shouted “Don’t help elect Trump, you egotistical billionaire •sshole!”

Bette Midler, just to name one of many people, is not a fan of Howard. She says of him “Howard Schultz is a reminder of how wealthy, opinionated white guys are just like Starbucks: there’s one on every f*cking corner."

So if you see Howard Shultz on a ballot remember the possible dire consequences!

Seeing The Future With 2020 Vision

2019-01-24T17:06:00.000-05:00

Who might run against president Donald Trump in 2020? Trump is a republican so he is not likely to be challenged for the presidency by his own party but John Kasich, former governor of Ohio is considered a potential republican primary challenger.

We’ve already told you a bit about the potential front runner, Bernie Sanders and shown you several of president Obama’s staff and friends that could run for president of the United States of America in 2020.

Even Beto O’Rourke, who we’ve mentioned before and who lost his senate race to Ted Cruz, is, for some reason, being encouraged to run for president of the United States of America in 2020!

Now let’s look at just a few more members of the class of 2020!

Elizabeth Warren!

Elizabeth Warren is a senator representing Massachusetts and she is very likely to run for president of the United States of America in 2020.

Many people like her policies but she is best known for her consumer advocacy work.

She supports Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All bill-this seems to be a very important policy for some democrats.

CNN ranks her at #1 in their 2020 rankings for candidate for president of the United States of America, and New York Magazine says Warren is already dominating the race for 2020!

But the Boston Globe newspaper says don’t run, Senator Warren, don’t run!

Now Elizabeth has proposed the Accountable Capitalism Act. In essence her ACA asks

“If corporations are considered to be legally equivalent to people, then shouldn’t they also have a legal obligation to consider the impacts of their choices on a broader set of stakeholders beyond their shareholders?”

Not so long ago, corporate leaders understood they had a stake in the country’s prosperity. Will Warren’s ACA return the USA to those bygone days?

Something else to consider-Rolling Stone magazine asks why do many democrats have second thoughts about running a female candidate like Elizabeth Warren in 2020?

Interesting question-will this effect Elizabeth Warren in 2020? Will this effect all women candidates?

Here at the Strangest Adventures we wonder can Elizabeth become president of the United States of America in 2020?

Tulsi Gabbard!

Speaking of women presidential candidates, Samoan-American veteran Tulsi Gabbard is also running for president of the United States of America in 2020.

She represents Hawaii in the house of representatives. We’ve mentioned her experience and her potential as a president of the United States before.

A reminder-Tulsi Gabbard is considered a progressive candidate-she quit working for the DNC in 2016 so she could endorse Bernie Sanders. In fact she also supports his Medicare for All act.

Some people are all ready for Tulsi Gabbard to become president of the United States in 2020.

She has a few obstacles to overcome, especially her previous background as a very conservative republican seemingly obsessed with stopping gay marriage.

She has turned her back on those beliefs though and changed her stance to support same-sex marriage in 2012.

In fact Tulsi Gabbard began her 2020 presidential campaign by apologizing for past LGBTQ remarks.

New York representative Sean Patrick Maloney, the first openly gay member of Congress, came to the defense of Tulsi-is that and her apology enough?

Could Tulsi become president of the United States in 2020? Will she become president of the United States in 2020?

John Delaney ?

Yes John Delaney! John Delaney is the first democrat to declare he will be running for president of the United States of America in 2020. He represents Maryland’s sixth district in the US house of representatives. The 2020 presidential campaign of John Delaney, the U.S. Representative representing Maryland's 6th congressional district, was announced on July 28, 2017.

Most people missed this but John Delaney was the first prominent Democrat to announce a campaign for the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

John explains why he wants to run for president and you if you like civility and bipartisanship you might like Delaney.

John prefers universal healthcare over Medicare for All. He says all Americans should have healthcare as a right.

Will John Delaney become president of the United States of America in 2020? Maybe not but he is the first declared candidate-we will discover if that gives him any edge towards victory.

Richard Ojeda!

Richard Ojeda, a highly decorated 24 year veteran of the US army, previously served one term in West Virginia’s senate; he lost his election bid for the West Virginia’s 3rd congressional district in the 2018 midterm election.

After he lost he declared he was running for president of the United States of America in 2020, on November 12, 2018. That makes him the second democrat to declare his candidacy.

You can see Richard Ojeda’s platform here.

As for healthcare, Richard believes in a public option.” I think we should give people the ability to buy into Medicare”.

Richard rose to prominence after he aggressively supported a teacher strike in West Virginia.

Nearly a year later, in 2019, Ojeda got involved in another teacher’s strike, this time in Los Angeles California, and wrote in the Intercept about his thoughts on the subject of teacher’s strikes.

Ojeda has taken positions that were not popular in West Virginia, a state that overwhelmingly elected Donald Trump. For instance, he voted down an anti-abortion bill and he was instrumental in passing the state’s medical marijuana law.

But Richard Ojeda has one huge problem-he voted for Donald Trump. Will being the only democrat to vote for Trump cause problems for his campaign? Can voters forgive that vote? Should they forgive that vote?

Richard Ojeda was the second democrat to declare his candidacy for president of the United States of America in 2020. Can his early start help him win? No one knows the future, anything is possible but his presidency seems highly unlikely.

Vermin Supreme!

Vermin Supreme was born in Massachusetts and represents no one. Vermin is a performance artist known for “running for office” since 1987.

CNN calls Vermin Supreme the protester who would be president.

Vermin Supreme says He 'Paved The Way For Donald Trump'

All indications are he is a fake candidate that seems to be calling attention to the absurdities of politics and is also know for his distinctive headwear-a rubber boot.

One of Vermin’s most famous promises-a pony for all Americans.

Will this perennial candidate for president of the United States of America “run” in 2020? Probably. Will Vermin Supreme remind the USA that politics can be absurd? Probably.

Vermin Supreme seems interesting but here at the Strangest Adventures we are glad that he never won an election. The USA could do better.

Is This True?

2019-01-24T15:55:00.000-05:00

Is This What Happened? Did Russia provide Wikileaks with stolen data which Jerome Corsi told Roger Stone about and Roger Stone told candidate Donald J.Trump about? We believe we will find out in 2019!

Jerome Corsi writes seriously crazy books-this is one.

Obama’s People!

2018-11-26T12:34:00.000-05:00

Many people seem to miss president Barack Obama. Even conservative Max Boot says “How I miss Barack Obama. His presidency appears to be a lost golden age when reason and morality reigned. All of his faults, real as they were, fade into insignificance compared with the crippling defects of his successor. And his strengths — seriousness, dignity, intellect, probity, dedication to ideals larger than self — shine all the more clearly in retrospect.”

And Max is not the only one to miss Obama.

Now that the midterms are over, people are considering running for president of the United States and some of those people are friends of Barack Obama-here are a few to consider.

Eric Holder!

Eric Holder was Barack Obama’s Attorney general from 2009 to 2015.

Holder says he will decide if he will run for president by early 2019.

With former president Barack Obama's backing. former Attorney General Eric Holder is leading a new party effort to redraw the jurisdictional lines, thus ending gerrymandering,

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee-the NDRC, is building a targeted, state-by-state strategy that ensures Democrats can fight back and produce fairer maps in the 2021 redistricting process.

Great work! The USA needs fairer elections.

Will Eric Holder run for president of the United States in 2020? He has not yet announced but we wish him luck if he does.

Joe Biden!

Joseph Biden was Barack Obama’s vice president from 2009 to 2017.

Biden had family issues in 2016 but if he had ran for president in 2016 many people think he would have won. Will Joe run in 2020?

Slate says Democrats can do better than Joe Biden in 2020. Paste Magazine agrees.

Vanity Fair thinks a Biden presidency is worth considering. Spoiler alert Biden is not ruling out 2020. Trump claims he would love to run against Biden in 2020.

Here at the Strangest Adventures we like Joe Biden for president of the United States but wonder if the US needs younger leadership now.

John Kerry!

Speaking of older leader ship, John Kerry was Obama’s second secretary of state.

John Kerry ran for president in 2004 but he was swift-boated and lost to George W. Bush.

Obama made Kerry his second SOS and he did his job well but Trump is not a fan.

But now Kerry sounds like a 2020 candidate according to Politico.

Kerry was quite angry after Trump withdrew the United States from the Paris climate accord,

Kerry once told the British newspaper The Guardian “People are going to die because of the decision Donald Trump made.”

Obama has other friends too but perhaps they are long shots to run for president of the United States of America.

The Rock!

Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, is multi-talented and has played college football for the University of Miami. He has also been a professional wrestler and still is an actor and producer.

Will he run for president of the United States in 2020? Maybe.

We say his lack of political experience rules him out but then Trump had no political experience either.

Oprah Winfrey!

Oprah Winfrey is possibly one of the most famous women in America.

She turned a job as a TV news anchor into a career hosting a talk show. then transitioned her hit talk show into a media and business empire.

Oprah supported Barack Obama as a presidential candidate.

One year Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing speech at the Golden Globes, afterwards many people thought she should run for president.

At the Strangest Adventures we also know that everyone should consider the irrational, pseudoscientific fantasy land Oprah helped create in the United States Of America.

We do not approve of Oprah promoting scientifically dubious theories.

Some people have suggested that Oprah Winfrey should run to become president of the United States. We disagree but who knows who will run in 2020? We can hardly wait to find out.

Vote 2018!

2018-11-05T06:31:00.000-05:00

It’s election time in America-midterm elections are on Tuesday the 6th of November. That's tomorrow! They are midway between presidential elections and people often ignore them but this time they are important. If one or both houses of congress get controlled by democrats (president Trump is a republican) then congress can start holding the president responsible for his actions and maybe even his words. In the last big election, in 2016, Trump became president and the world was shocked: this time the world could be just as shocked, by change. The United States House of Representatives has 435 seats and all are contested but only 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested.

Most political analysts believe that democrats will take the house and republicans will keep the senate.

Also 35 governorships are being contested, the democrats expect to take the majority there as well because Trump seems to be very unpopular.

Republicans seem to be only too aware of their own unpopularity. Though Trump has the white house and his party controls congress a majority of voters are unhappy with this situation. Because of this some fairly substandard republican candidates are running this time.

Here at The Strangest Adventures we already told you about Nazi republican Arthur Jones.

His "secret" identity" is Jack Justice

Steve West is another troubled republican.

Steve West is running for the Missouri House of Representatives District 15 and is such a bigot that two of his children are speaking out against him.

Even the republican party is denouncing him.

He plays a character on radio and the internet, Jack Justice. Here is a taste of his antisemitism and hatred of other groups on his youtube channel.

Is he too extreme? You decide.

Neoconfederate Corey Stewart

Corey Stewart is another bigot republican running. Corey Stewart was Donald Trump’s Virginia campaign chairman In 2016 Corey said “I was Trump before Trump was Trump.” He is a favorite of white supremacists and he is trying to get elected to the US senate from Virginia.

Is Corey Stewart too extreme? Read this and decide.

One aspect of this election is extreme republicans but another aspect of this election is women running for office. Why are so many women inspired to run for office this year?

Is it because the president bragged about grabbing women-his sexual misconduct?

Are women angry about the Kavanaugh supreme court hearing? And how it reminds them that they are not being heard?

Are they angry about how little has changed since the supreme court hearing for Clarence Thomas in 1991?

Keep in mind the reaction then was president George Herbert Walker Bush lost his reelection bid in 1992 and many women got elected to congress.1992 was called the Year of the Woman.

The class of 1992

Women that won in 1992 discuss the midterms of 2018 here.

A historian explains the striking parallels between 1992’s “Year of the Woman” and 2018.

2018 is also becoming known as the Year of the Woman because a record number of women are running for political office in 2018. Sixteen gubernatorial candidates, twenty three senate candidates, and 237 house of representatives candidates are woman. Maybe 2018 should be called Year of the Women!

Alyse Galvin who is running for the open seat representing Alaska in the US house of representatives as a democrat against republican Don Young, exemplifies these times.

Alyse is a first time candidate running against the house’s longest serving member, Don King. A woman replacing a man is a recurring theme this year.

Woman replaces man?

Alyse Galvin thinks it is time for a new Alaska voice in Congress. Is it?

Good luck Alyse, she may get elected: she is leading Don Young by one point in a recent poll.

Amy McGrath celebrates becoming the nominee

Retired Fighter Pilot Amy McGrath is running for Kentucky's 6th congressional house district. Amy has been mentioned here on The Strangest Adventures before.

Once again a woman that has held no other elected office before hopes to replace a man. Can Amy McGrath win?

Real Clear Politics says Amy is polling one point behind her republican opponent, Andy Barr.

Will she win anyway? Tuesday will tell the tale.

The future of Georgia?

Stacey Abrams is running for governor of Georgia. If Stacey wins she will be the first black woman governor of Georgia, or of any state in the United States. she was in the Georgia General Assembly, 2007–2017 and she was minority leader there from 2011 to 2017.

Here she is on the Daily Show.

Former US President Barack Obama endorses Stacey

She seems very charismatic and she may have great potential on the national stage someday.

Her opponent, Brian Kemp, is current Secretary of State for Georgia- he has been scrutinized in the wake of a report from the Associated Press that he had stalled more than 50,000 voter registrations by disproportionately black voters under the state’s exact-match requirements.

Former Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter endorses Stacey

However, U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross ruled Friday that the procedures were likely to result in the violation of voting rights for a large group of people and needed to be halted immediately.

This has focused national attention on this governor’s race.

Is it patriotic to burn this symbol of the confederacy?

By the way Stacey burned the old Georgia state flag, featuring a confederate battle flag in it’s design when she was a college student in 1992-will this destruction of a confederate symbol hurt or help her?

Many people were unhappy to see Trump elected in 2016-will 2018 be a backlash? For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. Will 2018 be a reaction to 2016 or will the current status quo be maintained? Time will tell but we urge every American to vote!

Beto Versus Ted!

2018-10-16T20:37:00.001-04:00

The Democrats have a problem.Donald J.Trump is president of the United States and his party, the Republicans, control congress. Democrats want to control congress and they want to have a president. The control of both is controlled by elections; an election for congress and other offices, including governorships, takes place in November. Thus the long time war between Republican party and Democratic party control continues.

Each party wants to control congress by having more elected members than the other party. The democratic party is expected to win control the house of representatives but probably not the senate, which they want also want. The biggest senate contest is Beto O’Rourke versus Ted Cruz.

Beto is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 16th congressional district since 2013 but he wants Ted’s position as a senator for Texas. Many see Beto as a political rockstar and he has raised record amounts of money for his campaign.

Here you can explore Beto’s policies and decide for yourself.

Beto played punk rock in a band —- and Ted is, well, Ted.

The democrats want to fireTed Cruz.

Willy Nelson supports Beto!

Beto is trailing Canadian born Ted Cruz in polls and is expected to lose but tonight they will debate on CNN. Here are some suggestions on what to watch for during this debate.

Will this debate change the polls or is Beto destined to lose?

Ted Cruz has a supporter too!

Many democrats are convinced that Beto O’Rourke is a political superstar and has what it takes to run for president against Trump in 2020.

Very interesting. Only time will tell.

Trump Meets Putin!

2018-07-15T21:46:00.000-04:00

Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly

On Monday 16, 2018, president Trump meets with president Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation. It appears obvious that Putin led a cyber attack against the USA that assisted in the election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced Friday that twelve Russian intelligence officials were indicted in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into 2016 election hacking ahead of the 2016 election.

Oddly enough, Putin is one of the few world leaders that Trump has refused to condemn. In fact Trump praises Putin.

It leads some to ask “what if Trump has been a Russian asset since 1987?” Amazing. if true.Read and decide for yourself.

Is this the end of NATO?

This weekend Trump met with world leaders at a NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium. It was a meeting dominated by Trump’s bluster and insults and included Trump saying that “Germany is totally controlled by Russia”.

It ended with Trump fabricating success.

Unusual baby Trump balloon and unusual protestors

Next Trump went to England where he was lampooned by balloon and protested with great vigor.

Trump was interviewed by The Sun, a British newspaper, and in the interview he registers his displeasure with how PM Teresa May is conducting Brexit, among other issues. The next day Trump lied to May about the interview, which was recorded, calling it fake news.

Trump's choice for PM Boris Johnson

Trump is insulting to ally nations and praises those nations the US is, at best, antagonistic toward. We can not say for sure what will happen when Donnie meets Vlad but expect Trump to continue praising Putin. President Trump is certainly very predicable.

Don't forget about the pee pee tape

True History?

2018-07-15T20:56:00.000-04:00

According to What if #4, published by Marvel Comics in 1977 Hitler was killed by the Golden Age Human Torch! Feel free to edit your history books!

This is now considered history by Marvel Comics.

Bernie Sanders!

2018-05-07T13:08:00.001-04:00

Is Bernie a Wizard of Wisdom?

Many people want Independent Senator Bernie Sanders to run for president again in 2020. After all, e drew large crowds and more than 13 million Americans voted for him in 2016.

Many of his voters were happy to support his policies of Government-provided health insurance, free college tuition, a $15 minimum wage, stronger unions, high gas taxes, guaranteed parental leave and more but were then unwilling to accept anything less optimistic after Sanders lost the Democratic primary. Young voters were especially receptive to Bernie's message. These ideas are very much like those used by governments in Scandinavia and have proven somewhat successful in those countries. However it seems obvious that the general population of the USA is not yet receptive to his message.

Guess which one.

Here at The Strangest Adventures we like Bernie’s ideas too but in a nation that elected Donald Trump as president it seems unlikely that his Bernie’s ideas will achieve any traction any time soon but we give Senator Sanders credit for not giving up. The week of the election Bernie Sanders published a book-he is a noted author-Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In.

Is this a book that will launch a revolution?

In the book Sanders outlines his policies; those policies are the foundation of the plan to convert his campaign into a permanent activist group called “Our Revolution.” Thus “Our Revolution” began.

Their next hoped for achievement is getting Dennis Kucinich elected in the democratic primary for Governor of Ohio on May the eighth, but a lot of Democrats have been offended by Kucinich’s strange emergence as a Fox News Democrat who often defends Donald Trump. This makes Dennis Kucinich, at best, a questionable alternative to Democratic front-runner Richard Cordray, who has the backing of most national Democrats, most notably Elizabeth Warren.

Bernie Sanders himself has not endorsed Kucinich saying “Let me be very clear: Bernie Sanders will make endorsements, and Our Revolution will make endorsements. Sometimes they will make endorsements in races I’m staying out of. I will not be making endorsements in the governor’s race in Ohio or Illinois. I’ve known Dennis Kucinich forever, I consider him a friend, but I am not making an endorsement there.”

So “Our Revolution” endorses a candidate that Bernie Sanders does not endorse. We will see how that works out on May 8th.

Here at the Strangest Adventures we believe Ohio voters will have no desire to elect a Trump loving democrat but we’ve been wrong before. More Kucinich hi jinx here.

As for Senator Bernie Sanders, will he run for president in 2020? Has his chance came and went? He’s still keeping his options open so no one can say for sure. However a recent Suffolk University poll of New Hampshire Democratic primary voters found Sanders trailing Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden in the New Hampshire Democratic primary. In the poll, Warren leads the pack with 26 percent, followed by Biden with 20 percent and Sanders a distant third with just 13 percent. Of course that is only one poll about one state-is it “proof” that Bernie should not run?

Bernie Sanders certainly seems to be an energetic, compassionate, unique candidate-we wish him well whatever he does.

Don Blankenship!

2018-05-07T11:44:00.000-04:00

Don Blankenship is the former CEO of Massey Energy His gross negligence resulted in the deaths of 29 coal miners in a mine explosion. A federal grand jury indicted Blankenship on November 13, 2014, for conspiracy to violate mandatory federal mine safety and health standards, conspiracy to impede federal mine safety officials, making false statements to the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as securities fraud. This has made Don Blankenship the most hated man in West Virginia. Don spent a year in prison and now Don is running for the US Senate to represent West Virginia.

Several Republicans are choosing this path in 2018

CNN calls Don Blankenship “The worst candidate in America”.

His strategy for winning seems very strange, he calls Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell “Cocaine Mitch” and refers to his father-in-Law as a Chinaperson. Mitch is married to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

Another thing Don likes to do is falsely claim the government, or Obama himself, conspired against him.

Don can afford to make these crazy commercials, he’s loaded!

Memorial to the slain miners!

As of today Polls show Blankenship ahead, sparking panic among GOP!

Now president Trump, not wanting to lose a winnable Senate seat due to a flawed candidate, is speaking out against Don Blankenship.

You have now been warned about Don Blankenship. West Virginia’s primary is on May 8.

What is Going on Here?

2018-05-07T11:06:00.000-04:00

Did The Thing go to the DC Universe to attack Green Lantern?

Did an angry Green Lantern send his Justice League team mate Batman to the Marvel Universe to get revenge on The Thing?

Kanye West !

2018-05-03T01:07:00.001-04:00

Two stable geniuses.

Kanye West, who, considers himself a genius, is a world famous hiphop star and in the last several weeks he has ruined his popularity by showing too much love for president Donald J. Trump, a move that has alienated his fan base and much of the black community as well as much of the musical community.

Kanye West is a huge fan of President Trump, and he does not seem to mind that people are hating him for it.

All this love for Donald J. Trump led Kanye West to release his latest song “Ye vs. The People” .

Kanye’s new friend is flashing an alt/right hand gesture in front of the “genius”!

In the song Kanye attempts to articulate what he believes is a defense of Donald J. Trump and his thoughts about politics.

None of this has escaped the attention of Donald J. Trump. Trump says Kanye is “smart”.

Trump says “Kanye West gets it!”

Oh look, now Kanye is saying “slavery is a choice”!

2009 the year Kanye went to war against Taylor Swift.

Kanye West is going on a very strange adventure. Will all this help or hurt Kanye West’s popularity. Does anyone care? Who knows?

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Frankenstein Bicentennial

2018-05-03T00:34:00.000-04:00

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein examined morality, ethics and science in a way no other book has captured quite as well since. Frankenstein was first published in 1818, two hundred years ago.

Many educational institutions are marking the event with celebrations, For instance, Arizona State University is celebrating the bicentennial with the Frankenstein Bicentennial Project. Washington University in St. Louis is celebrating the occasion as well with a series of events.

For this year-long celebration, University of San Francisco, San Jose State University, and Santa Clara University, will also be holding a variety of events.

Here at the Strangest Adventures we have a modest proposal regarding Frankenstein’s monster and comic books; maybe DC comics can publish adventures featuring super heroes versus Frankenstein’s monster in this anniversary year! Perhaps in a single volume. Here are some suggestions.

Batman confronting the monster in Transylvania.

Superman cornered by the monster on an old submarine.

The Flash is so afraid of the monster that he prays for help.

Watch out for the monster, Green Arrow and Black Canary!

The book Frankenstein is important in our understanding of how ethics, morality and technology intersect however we can also focus on the more gruesome aspects of the book as well. You just might see more of Frankenstein's monster here in the future.

Zuckerberg!

2018-04-10T14:28:00.000-04:00

Mark Zuckerberg is the creator of the social media giant Facebook and Mark has problems! Facebook allowed Cambridge Analytica, a political firm hired by the Trump campaign, access to private data on roughly 87 million Facebook users.

Just last year Facebook faced questions and gave congress ads linked to Russian government efforts to effect the 2016 presidential campaign.

Down down down!

That’s right, Facebook was involved with Russiagate!

So now Mark must testify before a joint hearing of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees. Zuckerberg is expected to strike a conciliatory tone.

Facebook has really gone downhill these days. Will Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak, who has deactivated his Facebook account, cause everyone to delete their Facebook accounts?

Zuckerbots invade DC!

Here at the Strangest Adventures we prefer to take a wait and see approach.

Let’s see how this ends.

Republican Nazi!

2018-03-21T17:31:00.000-04:00

Arthur Jones

White supremacist Arthur Jones is the Republican nominee for an Illinois's 3rd congressional district congressional seat representing Chicago. Jones has been active in the Populist Party, the National Socialist White People's Party and the American Nazi Party.

Is Jones criminally bigoted? Read his website and decide.

How did a Nazi become a Republican nominee? Because no other Republican candidate stepped forward to run against Holocaust denier Jones. We are reminded of what the Blues Brothers said “I hate Illinois Nazis!”

The seat is a long shot, at best, for a Republican to win but still they could have ran someone else. No political party should ever want to be associated with Nazis but the Republican Party, while denying Jones, has encouraged such people too often.

Have they become tainted?

But these are the strangest of days. A Nazi in congress does not seem very far fetched anymore. Sadly, these days anything seems possible!

President for Life Trump!

2018-03-21T17:01:00.000-04:00

Recently China's President Xi Jinping was declared president for life, which then prompted PresidentTrump to say at a fundraiser “Don’t forget China’s great and Xi is a great gentleman. He’s now president for life,…“And look, he was able to do that...I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll give that a shot some day,”

Let that sink in for a minute-Trump as president for life. We can’t imagine anything stranger than that!

Mark Cuban was President Instead of Donald Trump!

2018-03-05T17:48:00.000-05:00

This happened in some other version of reality!

Sharknado is a series of entertaining schlock movies from Syfy. Made in 2015, Sharknado 3 featured the destruction of Washington DC and included scenes inside the white house, and there was a need to cast a president-Donald J. Trump was their first choice.

Despite Trump expressing interest Mark Cuban took the role of POTUS. By the way Ann Coulter played vice president! This is the story how Mark Cuban was president instead of Donald J. Trump!

The best defense against a Sharknado is a good offense

By the way Cuban is a co-host on the hit TV series “Shark Tank.” which has been described as "American Idol" for entrepreneurs!

Donald J.Trump-the President of Golf!

2018-03-03T16:08:00.000-05:00

Donald J. Trump is POTUS and a huge fan of golfing and DJT has made a point of owning many golf courses.

Fake News

By the way Trump has a fake civil war monument at his National Golf Club on Lowes Island in Sterling, Virginia. That is, the event it claims to commemorate never happened, according to local and national historians.

Donald gets on the golf course as often as he can and at great cost to taxpayers.

According to 15-time LPGA Tour winner Suzann Pettersen "He cheats like hell,"

Trump tops all the other modern presidents in frequency of golfing more times in his first 81 days than any of them golfed.

Odd behavior for a man that on many occasions criticized Obama for playing golf.

There’s no doubt that Trump makes deals on the golf course but there was one time Trump tried to make a deal with House Republicans in the White House bowling alley.

One TV comedian felt the need to comment on this bowling summit.

Trump makes deals while golfing and seems to have made one deal using bowling but no one knows where he will make his next deal. Trump is taking the entire world on very strange adventure.

2018-03-03T15:41:00.000-05:00

PREZ was a comic book published by DC Comics in 1973 featuring senator Prez Rikard, the youngest president in history. PREZ was noted for always wearing red and having long yellow hair.

DC Comics rebooted the concept in 2005 with a teen age girl as president.

2018 may be the right time for another reboot of PREZ but this time featuring president Donald J. Trump as PREZ. It would be a bold juxtaposition to replace the youngest president with the oldest president and Trump needs all all the positive press he can get It might work or it might be the biggest disaster. in history! At the top are the first two issues of that series offered for your approval.

The Black Panther!

2018-02-19T07:47:00.000-05:00

T’Challa is the King of the fictional African nation of Wakanda and he is the Black Panther, a Marvel superhero. We’ve been fans of Black Panther since he debuted in Fantastic Four issue No. 52 in July 1966.

The Black Panther movie opened Friday and is already the top-grossing film in History. At the Strangest Adventures we welcome this news.

He originally was going to be named Coal Tiger and the name Coal Tiger, as it turned out, was more relevant to Africa in the 1960’s than the name Black Panther!

Yes that is what Coal Tiger looks like

By 1977 Black Panther had his own comic book title. It’s worth noting that in issue 5 Panther fights the racist menace the White Rhino.

By the end of the issue he teams up with Luke Cage, Falcon, and even the Black Musketeers to stop the White Rhino from taking over New York City; the earth shattering conclusion was in issue 6.

At the Strangest Adventures we wish Black Panther well and hope to view his documented adventures as soon as the lines get shorter!

Will Bernie Sanders return the favor in 2020?

She endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for president in 2016 and had to resign her post with with the DNC in order to make that endorsement. That alone makes her a bit of a maverick in the Democratic party. And Tulsi Gabbard is being suggested as a potential candidate to run for president of the United States in 2020. There are people that want Tulsi to run. Certainly website Medium is sold on her as POTUS.

Tulsi Gabbard is a democrat and generally follows the dogma of that party EXCEPT, after visiting Syria, and speaking to their leader Bashir Assad, she now seems convinced that he did not drop poison bombs on his own people. This stance has set her at odds with members of both parties.

This leaves Tulsi with a mixed image, the Washington Post says “Rep. Tulsi Gabbard: The Democrat that Republicans love and the DNC can’t control”.

Tammy Duckworth

Tammy Duckworth wrote the forward to ‘Band of Sisters : American Women at War in Iraq”. Band of Sisters tells the stories of Iraqi War veteran women. Tammy has quite a compelling story of her own. Wonder Woman!

2018-01-20T01:37:00.000-05:00

As a kid I was disappointed that this was not a comic book

This is the real life story about how comic book Amazon princess Wonder Woman had her super powers restored by feminist icon Gloria Steinham. In 1972 Gloria was waiting to publish Ms. Magazine and wanted to use Wonder Woman, whom she considered to be a symbol of female empowerment, on the first cover. Of course she asked DC Comics for permission only there was one problem; DC had depowered Wonder Woman and took her out of her uniform and put her into mod clothing!

As a kid I was disappointed that this was a comic book

The mod Wonder Woman was an attempt to make Diana relevant to the late 1960’s so editor Carmine Infantino tasked writer Denny O'Neil and artist Mike Sekowsky with changing the Amazon into a secret agent. Wonder Woman was made over into an Emma Peel type, and that was arguably the most controversial period in the hero's history.

An illustration by DC Comics artist Murphy Anderson had been commissioned to make art for a story Ms. was planning to write on Wonder Woman but then it was decided that this would be an ideal cover for the first issue of the magazine. Here are some more examples of Murphy Anderson’s work.

Was Murphy Anderson inspired by this cover?

And the rest is history. DC comics rebooted Wonder Woman in 1973 by restoring her powers and, for the most part, her original appearance.

However, her appearance on MS encouraged the use of Wonder Woman as a symbol for feminism and empowerment. In 1973, a year after the MS. Magazine cover, Carol Clement drew a speculum wielding Wonder Woman for the Los Angeles Women's Center newsletter that instructed women on how to do their own vaginal exams.

William Moulton Marston

William Moulton Marston was the creator of Wonder Woman. He lived an unconventional lifestyle, living with his wife and mistress at the same time, fathering children with both. In 2017 there was a movie about the life story of Dr. William Marston, Harvard psychologist and inventor, He, along with his wife, invented a crucial component of lie detector tests, however this movie is about the relationship between his wife and his lover, who became her lover after his death and how they both inspired the iconic super heroine Wonder Woman. Marston could be considered one of the few feminist men of his era.

Wonder Woman addressed the UN in her comic book too

But Wonder Woman’s involvement with the real world was not over! Wonder Woman was made a UN ambassador in 2016, which was also her 75th anniversary! Her time as a UN ambassador was short lived though. Current Wonder Woman Gal Gadot and 1970’s Wonder Woman Lynda Carter appeared together at the UN but make no mistake, the fictional Wonder Woman was considered the ambassador. She lost her job in response to a petition, “Reconsider the Choice of Wonder Woman as the UN's Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls” signed by 30,000 UN employees. Wonder Woman always seems to court controversy even in real life!

Is the future of Wonder Woman filled with bondage? Wonder Woman often relied upon her golden lasso to tie people up. What if the situation were reversed? Wonder Woman: Bondage By Frank Miller And Bill Sienkiewicz. Here at the Strangest Adventures, we hope not but who knows these days? Sometimes the world is a dark place. We continue to think of Wonder Woman as a fictional hero and symbol that inspires millions of people every day.

Wonder Woman's first uniform included a skirt!
