<p>I recently got a chance to try out some Battle Ropes at the gym. Nasty business. While I&#8217;m not signing off on them as the most revolutionary thing in the history of fitness, they still kicked my butt and can set your heart racing if you find that you enjoy them. </p>
<p>I actually found this video of the top 20 rope exercises useful&#8211;one challenge I ran into quickly was that I couldn&#8217;t figure out what to do with them after I&#8217;d done some waving and slamming. </p>

<p>Here&#8217;s me hitting a pretty easy set of four snatches, right arm, with the 48 kilogram <a  href="http://strengthrules.com/kettlebells/">kettlebell</a>. Back in my Dragondoor days, &#8220;The Beast,&#8221; as this kb was known, was the most fearsome thing ever. </p>
<p>Like anything, if you scale up and make consistent progress, showing up over and over, what was heavy becomes light, or at least lighter. </p>
<p>I hadn&#8217;t snatched this heavy in a long time. Probably close to a year. But the strength is still there. A nice, lazy Sunday afternoon. </p>

If you&#8217;ve ever tried cleaning or deadlifting an axle, or tried the rolling thunder handle from <a  href="http://strengthrules.com/297/thoughts-on-the-ironmind-hip-squat-belt/">Ironmind</a>, you know how the bar thickness changes everything. </p>
<p>But that wasn&#8217;t enough either. This is pulled on a vertical bar! Absolutely incredible. </p>
