I have always been the impatient one. When I want something, I want it at the soonest possible time… and most of the time, I want more than what I really can achieve. Maybe it’s bad, but I believe that when you dream, you might as well dream big. Just like a Modern Furniture that I wishing for. I know it might not complement the native sala set that I have right now, but I’ll just find a place in the house for the native one. Modern furniture looks cool. I always wanted a reclining couch when I was young.

I have too many aspirations in life, I know. But I also believe that they would all come true… one by one.

A lost is a lost, no matter what you do, there’s no way to bring back what was gone… or who was gone. You have the right to stop and wallow in the misery of the lost… but only for a while.

The truth is, you can cry, you can stop living, go into seclusion, isolate yourself from the rest of the world… but while you’re doing that, the world won’t stop. It wouldn’t even slow down and wait for you to recover…

…life goes on

I learned that on a previous lost. Sure, there were sympathies, kind words and all. Everyone would feel for you because they understand what you’re going through.

But don’t rest on that.

Sympathies are good, at least it would make you feel that you are not alone. However, it should not trigger your ‘self-pity button’ but rather it should give you the strength to move on, knowing that you are not alone… you are never alone.

Sometimes, things don’t always go our way, such is life. A lost is lost, there is really nothing that we can do to bring back was gone… all those ‘what ifs’ and ‘if only’ will just prolong the agony.

Moving on is not just an option… it’s a must!

…because life goes on. It won’t wait for you.

P.S. Thanks to all my friends who sent their condolences and sympathy. Don’t worry, everything’s just fine.

Since it will be back to our ‘regular programming’ as life should go on, I’d like to write more about Christmas. But this time, instead of the childish Christmas wishes for a merry holidays and ‘choo-choo’ train, I’d like to think of the opportunity that the season would bring. Maybe it’s not yet too late to prepare my business cards so I can distribute them to friends and other gatherings that I may get into in the coming days.

I am really excited to get back into my business - my chocolates and personalized items business. Learning from my past mistakes, I hope I could get it right this time and get my running, and be successful in my attempt.

Giving an impression of a serious is a must, that’s why I should get my brochures printed by professionals, at least I get to learn graphics design and make a convincing presentation myself. My previous printouts, while I am proud of them, doesn’t really look impressive to big businesses.

Or maybe, I should even prepare some catalogs to distribute. I guess that would bring good enough an impression.

Now I’m excited really to get into business. I should get my collateral ready just in case there’s an opportunity that comes along.

Wish me luck!

Since I talked about getting back into business, one good way to get back, and even for business starters is by joining trade exhibits. Because trade fairs are a great venue to get business exposure as they are mostly promoted by organizers. If you want to join one, and yet constrained by a limited budget, you might want to look for Used Trade Show Display.

For obvious reasons, Used Trade Show Displays definitely cost less than brand new ones. That way you can cut your costs as you try to get the feel of the business environment.

Or, you may want to join those trade fairs wherein Trade Show Booths are already provided by the organizers, and are already included in the set-up of the event area. Joining one where a Trade Show Booth is already included in the package gives you less worries as you only need a little to set up your place.

Just be sure to arrange your booth, and your merchandise, attractively so as to catch the attention of trade fair goers and get more exposure from your trade fair experience.

Good luck!

It seems to be that there is really no stopping the “pound-for-pound” king star from rising. This time, Manny Pacquiao made the cover of Time Magazine’s Asian Edition. Pacquiao on Time Magazine will be featuring a five-page story on him in the latest issue which will hit the US and global newsstand this weekend.

With the simple dream only of providing a better life for his family through boxing, his humble beginning has elevated to such an international status that he now joins the ranks of boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson and Mike Tyson who have graced the cover of the said magazine.

He also joins the prestigious bunch of Filipino politicians and personalities, from former President Manuel L. Quezon to actress Chin Chin Gutierrez, who were featured on the cover of Time.

The magazine describe Pacquiao as “the latest savior of boxing.” His article takes on his rise from poverty to become the world’s biggest boxing attraction and the Philippine’s greatest sporting star.

“A fighter’s dream is to win a world title and gain financial stability. But what is happening to me now is the most humbling experience of my life,” Pacquiao said in his interview with Fightnews.com. In the interview, which is making its rounds online, Pacquiao said the world boxing stage has given him the chance to show the Philippines to be a “small but mighty country.”

“It is a great honor for me to be the face of my people and to let everyone know we are a small but mighty country,” he said. “I have great pride for all of the Filipinos living throughout the world and it is these people that I fight for each and every time I step into the ring.”

Pacquiao will face another challenge on November 14 in the person of Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto at Las Vegas, for the WBO welterweight title.

Here’s hoping that this ‘international accolade’ boosts his morale even further as he go and continue his winning streak… for the love of the country and the Filipino people.

I heard about it from a friend the other day, his father passed away because of mesothelioma two years ago, and they don’t even know what kind of ailment was that. It was the first time for me encounter the word too, so I made some search about it.

Based on what I understand from the Wikipedia page, mesothelioma cancer is almost always associated with exposure to asbestos. The article says that most people who develop the disease have been exposed, and perhaps inhaled asbestos dust and fibers. Even people who wash clothes of a family member working with asbestos is at risk of being exposed to mesothelioma.

Unlike lung cancer, mesothelioma prognosis is not associated with smoking, however, the article states that smoking greatly increases the risk of other induced-cancer. Shortness of breath, chest wall pains, and weight loss, are just some of the symptoms of the disease.

I know, there is more a lot to learn about this disease. I am not sure about my friend’s father’s job, but I know he used to work in some industrial site in middle east.

If you would like to know more about mesothelioma asbestos exposure and read an inspiring about how Paul Kraus was able to survive after being diagnosed with mesothelioma in 1997, visit survivingmesothelioma.com and be informed about this disease.

It’s less than 50 days before Christmas. Credit Cards once again will be swiped more often these days than the rest of the year. What with the Christmas shopping being done by many as early as September just to avoid the shopping rush at the malls. I know, shopping with credit cards is very convenient, but be weary of your expenses or else you might get the surprise of your life when your January billing comes.

If you don’t have a credit card yet, and really want to get one, be sure to look around for the Best Credit Cards there is. With too many credit cards companies, be sure to ask your friends, search the net if you must. Compare Credit Cards as to the terms, credit limits, interest rates and penalties imposed.

And when you finally got the credit card you so desire, be sure to purchase only the amount that you can pay. If possible, pay the whole amount when the billing arrive to avoid paying for the interest. And please, make it your last resort… not your only resort.

Sure, everybody has a right to burn their own lungs, but others have a right to breathe clean air too. But the way it’s happening now, smokers seem to impose their rights more than non-smokers do.

Of course, there are considerate smokers too, like my friend Jan (who I hope is now a successful quitter), who walks away whenever that lighted stick beacons, even if it’s just Chuchi who would keep him company.

Whenever you’re in a gathering, it can’t be helped really that someone in the crowd smokes. In that case, at least you have the option to walk away or move yourself farther from the source of the “dreaded weapon.” If it’s in an open-air location, the impact would be less, I guess.

But what really pisses me off, are those who smoke in public transport – people who huff and puff their cigarettes inside jeepneys and ordinary buses.

Ironically, most jeepneys would have the ‘No Smoking’ sign posted on their vehicle. But this doesn’t stop inconsiderate people who love to distribute their exhausted smoke to the other passengers.

Sometimes, even the drivers of these passenger jeepneys smoke too!

Seriously, I hope to come out with my own t-shirt line… one where these words are printed…

“I really don’t mind you smoking… but please, don’t exhale”

Tomorrow is another big day in Philippine sports. Because tomorrow is the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

The Philippine pride and pound-for-pound king, Pacquiao will go up against his latest challenger, the Puerto Rican powerhouse Cotto.

To be honest, I don’t really watch boxing… at least not until the day I started blogging.

Never in my entire life have I paid attention to boxing. But since I started blogging I began to be conscious of not only boxing, but other things that are happening today – even things that don’t even concern me.

And with less than 24 hours before the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, I’d like to share my thoughts, not only on this particular fight, but on every fight that Pacquiao has.

Like in previous fights of Pacman, there would be less traffic tomorrow, and this I’ve witnessed myself. There are few vehicles plying the streets every time there is a boxing match involving Pacquiao.

And while others would like to stay home and watch the fight, it seems hoodlums and criminals would like to take the day off too and watch Pacquiao. Crime incidences were said to be recorded the lowest every time he climbs the ring.

I even know of a series of Sunday-seminar held locally which was moved to Saturday for this particular week, to the disadvantage of participants who have work on Saturdays. I guess they’d rather moved it to Saturday and have few absentee, than hold it still on Sunday and have lots of absentees – including the facilitators and speakers.

Another interesting sidelight on every Pacquiao fight is the singing of our National Anthem. Who’ll be singing it this time? Will it be sung correctly now? Or will the artist insist on doing his own interpretation of the song, citing creativity and personal style as an excuse?

I am also curious as to how many TV commercials will be inserted by the local TV network who has acquired the right to air the fight. And just like in previous fights, I reckon that it will be again too many that people, who has no access to cable nor internet, are still watching on TV and waiting for the result of the fight… while the rest of the world is already doing a blow-by-blow analysis of the fight.

And which, I fear to ask political, figure would suddenly pop-up and show his face in the ring should the people’s champ win?

Yes, there are indeed a lot of interesting notes and sidelights every time Manny Pacquiao fights for the Filipino people.

And one final note on this fight, I’m not going to watch it this time… because my TV is broken!
