Fashion diva and newly redhead Rihanna is featured on the cover of April issue of Vogue.

Photographer Annie Leibovitz photographed the 23-year-old singer for the magazine’s 10th annual Shape Issue. Rihanna sported a beautiful Chanel gown that made her curves stand out.

In her Vogue layout, she is working beautiful dresses from Lavin and Chloe’. She nails it on the beach wearing a dramatic ruby red-hot swimsuit by Herve’ Leger.

The singer has an upcoming movie, her first feature film, Battleship.
“Over the holidays, and even during filming, I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book," she says. "I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.”

The big day came and quickly turned frantic as news of the massive earthquake followed by tsunami that hit Japan. A group of eight Japanese designers were scheduled to show their collection at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week.

With chaos around them but knowing there families were safe back in Japan, these amazing designers took to the runway to show their Japanese culture to the world. Some 79 designers will showcase their collections at the LFW Summer/Resort 2010 running until 15 March.

McQueen’s dreamy collection lives on with the ever-talented Sarah Burton. Bold and structured silhouettes continue to be standard at the house of McQueen. This collection continues to be breath taking walking pieces of art and is enjoyed every season.

Valentino, who we love, presented stunning feminine gowns in floor length lace and pretty pleated chiffon looks.

Chanel
Dark, smoky and elegant was Chanel theme for A/W’11. Lagerfield captured our attention with plenty of sheer hitting the black rock-lined catwalk. It was a dark and steamy affair from Chanel for A/W’11.

Louis Vuitton
The theme for Louis Vuitton’s show was a fantastic hotel lobby. We adored Kate Moss’ as she paraded down in the finale. Very tailored coats and ladylike dresses had fantastic catwalk appeal.

Access Denied at Paris Fashion Week

Well the larger than life rapper Kanye West is at it again. It's Paris Fashion Week and the rapper and fashion enthusiast had invites to Valentino and Givenchy. Other fashion houses were not as accommodating when West showed up unannounced.

West hit the Balmain show with his entourage (and no invite), well let's just say he didn't view the latest collection from Balmain. KCD, the organizers of the show told Page Six, "Mr. West requested to attend and we let him know we would not be able to accommodate him. He chose to come to the door anyway and we kindly let him know we could not accommodate him." Yikes. West also crashed the Alexander McQueen show (uninvited) this time he managed to get through a side door. What people will do for fashion!

Designer Jules Reid presented her Spring/Summer 2010 collection this past weekend at the Sherman Pickey boutique in Georgetown (Washington, DC). The collection features bold and vibrant colors and prints with a vintage flair.

Spring/Summer 2010 is the first signature collection for the designer who is a native of Fredericksburg, VA. The intricate detailing utilized in some of her dresses are stunning. Reid uses colors in a way that is sure to grab your attention. As beautifully made as many of the pieces are, they are equally comfortable, which is not always the case in women's apparel.

The designer notes that in her work she’s inspired by style icons Emilio Pucci and David Hicks. This collection inspires the look of casual chic in an effortless manner.

Jules Reid spends her free time between homes in Virginia and New York where she lives with her husband, daughter and three young boys ages 9, 7 and 4. With the release of her recent collection and her Fall/Winter line due out in September 2010, the designer has already begun working on her Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

With news of White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers decision to resign from her post effective next month, the thought of paying homage to a woman of style comes to mind.

One hopes that she will be remembered for more than the scandal of the state dinner that precedes her announcement, but more as a woman of high class who’s goals along with the President and First Lady , was to make the White House the “Peoples House” in hosting events that opened up the doors and allowed more than just heads of states and celebrities through.

Desiree Rogers fashion sense is undeniable. Whether she was attending a fashion show during New York fashion week or walking the grounds of the White House before the annual Easter Egg Roll, she always managed to look chic and stylish…and it was effortless. She loves fashion and it showed from her signature hair cut, to the casual yet elegant looks and use of color both radiant and bold. Even though she's moving on to life in the corporate world, her style is sure to keep her as one to watch.

2010 Grammys: I'm underwhelmed...how about you?

They arrived, won and toasted at the after parties but did anyone really show up or step up to high fashion for the 2010 Grammys? I think not. I can't help but feel a little disappointed at the fashions on the red carpet. Outside of Lady Gaga (was she really able to sit down in that outfit??)

there weren't many celebrities who were able to pull of daring but spot-on looks. There were a couple of looks I loved.

This lady had an awesome entrance to the red carpet and an even more fabulous performance: PINK! I loved her fade to black couture gown by Tony Ward. The dress was simply stunning with intricate bodice detailing and a splash of glimmer to make Pink shine.

Even though she didn't snag the award for best new artist (SIGH & BOO) Kerri Hilson was a definite winner in her elegant nude Dolce & Gabanna mermaid inspired gown. Kerri did a great job at keeping it simple with minimal but stunning accessories which shows she understands less is always more.

Although she was deemed the darling of country music in 2009, thank you again Kanye, Taylor Swift's choice of dress was a bit...out there (think spaceship and another galaxy).

For sure, the night belonged to Mrs. Sasha Fierce, Beyonce. Still I couldn't help but think that her pick for the red carpet arrival her gown created by Stephane Rolland was safe and predictable.

A Decade Of Unforgivable Fashion

So as a professional Fashion Stylist and Consultant I will be the first to tell you, make a statement and standout in a crowd. Well these celebrities did but in a not so stylish way. Here is our pick of the decade’s most unforgivable fashion moments.

Jennifer Lopez is a mom now with 2 adorable kids but in 2000 when she showed up at the Grammys with a watercolor teal Versace dressed that was cut down to… well you know what, everyone gasped. I actually loved it, my first thoughts were ”you go girl.”

I truly do love Bjork’s music and her style is parallel to none but when she arrived at the 2001 Oscars dressed in the now famous “swan dress” we all thought to ourselves “what on earth.”

Remember when Justin & Britney showed up at the American Music Awards OD'd on denim.

The return of “Swan Lake”, no it’s Laura Flynn Boyle at the 60th Annual Golden Globes Awards dressed in this crazy costume.

This was the decade of the retro look but Alice Evans took this look even further in this 70’s inspired mumsy-looking dress at the Oscars.

OMG, remember the Jessica Simpson mom jeans.

When Tilda Swinton showed up to the 2008 Oscars in this horrific black velvet one-sleeved Lanvin dress I remember thinking this is a terrible use of good black velvet.

And my crowning unforgivable fashion moment of the decade goes to my girl Sarah Jessica Parker, now don’t get me wrong I love Sarah with all my heart and soul. Sarah has fabulous fashion sense and a sexy style but arriving in London at the premiere of “Sex And The City” with green roses, yellow butterflies, twigs & branches mounted atop an acorn base on the top of your head was a bit much.

Bloggers Take Over Front Row At Fashion Week

So when an unknown 13-year-old blogger was sitting front –row at Marc Jacobs, Rodarte & others – long time front row socialites and Journalist feathers were completely ruffled. A 13 –year old, yes and her name Tavi Gevinson, the author of a blog called Style Rookie. This little lady is in high demand filming promotions for Target and flown to Tokyo for a party with Comme Des Garcons.

Old media -vs- new media, the traditional style of Fashion Journalism are being tossed out of the window and replaced by bloggers. I now have a bigger reason to love him even more now that they are teaming up with über trendy and budget-friendly retailer H&M to release a new collection of shoes, handbags and accessories to accompany a women’s clothing line! The collection will also include options for guys as well in the form of shoes, accessories and more.

The web has been buzzing with news of the collaboration for some time and you can find a preview of the collection on any number of Web sites and blogs.
