“What are your favorite, low-cost, high impact marketing ideas?”

 For me, it has always been “Re-Elationship Marketing” witch is a ‘well implemented, well balanced combination’ of several different type of “P2P” (People To People) systems that produce astounding results for virtually no real ‘cost’. – the COST is that most do nothing.

We’ve all heard of ‘Word Of Mouth’ marketing, but that is a ‘result’ of the rest of the ‘Re-Elationship Marketing’ strategies:

= A killer live product/show!
But not “just”… you MUST apply a killer product WITH well designed triggers to actually GET folks to refer, rebook, recommend… etc. you and your solution! (Again, this does not happen by happenstance or by accident…) JUST having ‘a great show’ is NOT always ‘enough’ if you want to be successful! YES, (before I get torn apart here… hehehe!) you MUST have a strong, commercial product that people ARE willing to recommend and refer, OK?

= VERY Specific, VERY Proactive “SYSTEMS” for referral stimulation & reward!
Again, this does not happen by happenstance or by accident… sorry!

= Turn Your ‘Network’ into your “NetWORTH”!
Most mess this up by ‘over NetWORKING’ their crowd to a bloody pulp! They net-“work-over “ to the point that people feel literally ‘worked-over’ instead of happy to have met you! – - PLEASE don’t be ‘that guy’! – YUK!

Indelible Trust Re-Elationships is always your number ONE desired success outcome! People will invest with people they know, like and trust! (Duh!)

= Follow Up, Follow Through!
Common Courtesy… This is HUGE! I can’t tell you how many time my re-elationships tell me that I am the ONLY ONE who EVER sent them a simple gift, confirmed date and details, offered support, experienced insights and encouragement or even sent a simple thank-you note and how incredibly valuable was to them… as well as a welcome surprise!

= BE the professional “Solutions Provider”!
The ‘Solutions Provider Paradigm’ seams OBVIOUS, (as does the rest of this stuff) but “If Common Sense Were Common Place, We’d ALL be Millionaires!”

I guess we could really call all this “Like DUH!” Marketing, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that most do NOT even apply the simple, ever-so-basic, common sense truths to their success marketing outcomes!

Like I said, for me, “Re-Elationship Marketing” has always been my number one, results getting system at ANY price!

Can I share with you a little story about trust?

I take my two boys ( 6 & 9) to swimming lessons on Monday and Wednesdays at 4:30 PM. – It’s at a local county pool up the street.

Their lesson is only 30 minutes and I swim laps and mess around in the pool while they’re doing their thing.

I give my boys the thumbs up and tell them they are doing great as they pass me by. I encourage them to swim faster, go stronger and remind them to do their very best.

There’s a small part of the pool sectioned off three lanes wide and half the pool’s width that anyone can swim in while their kids are in lessons.

On Wednesday, I was watching this 2 year old girl and her swim instructor. This was the most adorable little girl. She was warring a hot pink bather and a shower cap with bright yellow sunflowers on it.

She had a huge smile on her face. She was standing at the ledge of the pool and the instructor was in the pool encouraging her to jump in to the pool. Each had their arms extended out with all five fingers reaching towards one another barley touching.

The 2 year old had these tiny little fingers reaching out as far as they could go.

This little girl was smiling and laughing and wanted to grab the instructor’s fingers before she made the jump into the pool. The instructor would pull her fingers back so they would not touch forcing the girl to reach out forward over the water.

This little girl was afraid to make the jump.

The instructor was smiling and saying, come on, juuump, you can do it, no you have to jump, come on, Jump, Juuuuuump.

The little girl wanted to jump so bad. – She was having the best time.

I watched this for about 6 minutes and 45 seconds. ( I was rooting the little girl on.)

The instructor was as patient as a saint. She kept her arms open wide so the little girl would feel save after she made the commitment. And what seemed like an eternity the little girl finally jumped off the side-lines and into the pool.

I was so happy for her.

And the instructor was great. She gave the little girl a kiss and said “you did it!” She said in a high pitched voice .. “I’m so proud of you.”

And you should have seen the little girl’s face and how proud she was of her self.

I went on to do some laps. And about 15 minutes later I glanced over to where the little girl had jumped. And she was jumping over and over again into the pool.

It’s a cool little story that is so symbolic of life and taking risk. It’s about give and take, trust and encouragement. And so I figured I would share this story with you. And that is what business is all about.

You just have to make the jump. And you have to be smiling too like that 2 year old girl.

This truth will ‘challenge’ some more than others… some will launch scud missiles into this share (based on result and proven experience by the way…) insisting that there is a deadly reccession, while others may look on with queried eyes and still others will stand and applaud for the obvious truths being offered and shared here… you have been warned!

If you have not read the classic business tale “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson, I suggest you really do so if you and an entertaining and yet truthful, pragmatic look at what is going on in the business and economic world today… though it was written many years ago; the answer is still pretty simple really!

YES, my friends… “The Cheese Has been Moved!”

The Problem:
Two completely juxtaposed schools of though when it comes to entrepreneurs and the economy.

The Situation:
= 1) There definitely IS a knuckle-busting recession and the pool is running dry! (Oh, and the sky is falling… did ya’ hear? Run for cover! hehehe!)

…and

=2) The “Cheese” is still in the maze, it has simply been moved!

Loosely translated, that means that people ARE, in fact still spending money, but the ‘rules’ of value exchange have changed.

The SOLUTION:
Oh, the cheese is still THERE, it’s just in a different position in the maze so to speak.

YES, It is most defiantly THERE, has just been simply MOVED is all.

While SOME are running around crying ‘poor-me’, the consistently successful are clearly enjoying better year(s).

As we have said here many times before, ‘merely survive or Wildly Thrive!”? – In short, business is still GROWING!

This is always true in shifting economic times… it is just history!

The point is, folks still are spending money! Plenty of it! They are smply ‘investing’ for different reasons and much more ‘particularly’. – - Which is a GOOD thing, as I see it anyway! I have been ‘preaching, teaching and nagging’ this would happen over the last 10 years! We just finally hit ‘The Tipping Point’ is all… and here we are!

If you are still suffering from the illusion that people just “buy the stuff you have to sell…”, YOU will likely never find the cheese!

People are looking for solutions to THEIR most pressing wants, needs, cares, concerns and desired outcomes! Period!

People simply “WANT What They Want, When and How THEY Want It”! ‘THEN and only then’ will they invest in the solutions and outcomes YOU may have if they truly believe that you have what THEY most want, need and desire!

Chalk one more up in the WIN column for “Value Added, Re-Elationship Marketing!”

Isn’t THAT the way it should ALWAYS BE?
= Free Enterprise!
= Fair Market Forces!
= Supply & Demand!

It SHOULD, it is what we have been screaming at the top of my lungs since we have been sharing success out-loud, online; and for me, since about the time I learned to walk & talk! (Yea, ok, might have been an annoying kid! – Hehehehehehe!)

Maybe so, but it’s more true today than maybe it ever has been in my lifetime, and its only gunna get “MORE TRUE!” Hey, no use denying it!

Simply put We don’t GET PAID for selling our products and services, we get REWARDED for providing VALUE and a “Proven Solution” to people and their most pressing considerations!

How much more plain can I be?

So if you want to WIN in this economy, you will need to:
=> CREATE VALUE and “Locate The Cheese”
=> LEARN how people are looking at the ‘way’ they choose to invest there time, talent and treasure theses days.
=> THEN you will soon figure out how to “generate the value” that unlocks the vault to the financial success paradigm for all citizens of the maze of life.

Simply stated:
Find ways to take what YOU DO to HELP OTHERS do (or get) more of what THEY want, need or desire and ‘POOF’, everyone now has a huge pile of cheese savor and to enjoy!

Obviously, by n’ large this IS a different way of doing business for most folks, or we would NOT be in the ‘blind cheese hunter’ condition that some find themselves in today, right?

This is the WAY that The Best, Brightest and Most Effective Professional Business Experts make the world rotate… they Add Massive VALUE and get Rewarded Accordingly!

Truth is; those experts are NOT having a so-called ‘recession’ crises at all… just a simple cheese hunt is all.

Even MORE Simply Put:
“The More VALUE You Create, The More Money You’ll Make!” (Sound Familiar?)

So; What do YOU do for a living… no, better said: “A LIFESTYLE”?

QUESTION:
How essential or influential is a “LOGO” in our over-all marketing arsenal?

Some suggest that a “LOGO” is the magic that makes “Big Success America” the success they are today while others say it has little or no real intrinsic value in the marketing landscape. They say a “LOGO” is worthless… nothing.

What say YOU?

I settle a bit in the middle of the over-all mix of it…
=> Does our “LOGO” produce bottom line, profit bearing results?

NO, not really and certainly directly. NOT all by itself anyway. (Generally speaking that is, and especially in OUR case as independent business owners and NOT the “Biggies” in the corporate perspective of it all…)

I find Marketing is a “holistic process”:
That is…TWO WORDS:

= Holistic
Basically meaning and over-all broad spectrum of details and procedures.

= Process
Not a ‘one-thing’ or a ‘destination’ as it were, but a “process” or journey along the way to getting the result we desire.

BOTH are only “part” of the profit producing process and procedures for making business successful.

…ah the magic of “marketing”.

Now a “LOGO” simply floating ‘out there’ alone will not (or likely cause someone to)  pick-p the phone, send out marketing, knock on doors and book shows for us if it is never applied, used, put out there in this over-all “holistic process” of our “Marketing Mix”. (Regardless of HOW we each choose to market…)

A LOGO is ‘one’ element in an “ID Package” (Brand Continuity, Congruent and Consistency Process) that we can use in our ‘branding’ BUT not the ONLY thing.

Certainly, consistency and congruency of color, look, feel, approach are all equally as important in this over-all holistic process and approach as a LOGO might be, present or not.

=> Does an “EFFECTIVE” LOGO ‘add’ to the Holistic Process in our marketing and success efforts if we apply it well?

I sure could! (IF done correctly!) It can equally be distracting and a menace to our success if it is not good!

I WILL say, as part of the over-all marketing mix and holistic process a LOGO “can” be a very powerful stylized embedded reminder of all the stuff our marketing hopes to achieve all in nice little package all wrapped in a bow. Again, “IF” done correctly!

* TIP: Hire a PRO!
(By the way… side note: Not all LOGOS are “visual”.  Another session…)

THAT is why all the “BIGGIES” apply the principle of an ‘effective‘ logo. – - Truth be told, when done ‘correctly’ a powerful and effective LOGO can-be rather hypnotic in nature and can easily ‘anchor’ and bring-back all the positive (or negative depending) emotions and experience attached to that particular “LOGO” or “ID” representative of any particular business or marketing campaign outcome! (Hint! Hint!)

B-I-N-G-O! Mareting Paydirt!
It all simple marketing psychology really.

Top to Bottom or Bottom To TOP? – YOU Be the judge!

I was chatting with some of the family members here at “The Dean’s List, Your University of Success!” (The World’s Largest Success Support Site For Aspiring & Professional Performers/Presenters!) and we were discussion ‘the effectiveness of value-added process of our success business approach’ which caused me to re-share this proven principle of success once again… here, for YOU!

Funny thing is, because it is just “what we do”, we sometimes forget how powerful some of our most profound, profit-producing solution really are… so HERE, once again is a simple reminder of the REAL RESULTS tat can be enjoyed by simply DOING what works on a consistent and persistent basis.

Again, having tested the results going both directions… see what I mean:

In all the most effective marketing I have always enjoyed the most success with “Price-Down” (or Take-Away) selling. REGARDLESS of the means of the message delivery mechanism! (Personal, printed, what-ever…)

HERE is the basic (albeit simple, proven principle of success!) The premise is to always start with the BIGGEST package outline (HINT: selling the big-picture outcomes!) and “THEN” (after that VISION is firmly cast into their minds…) THEN, do the ‘take-always’ one item and one piece and one package at a time… hence the name “Take-Away” selling.

By polar example, If I do the most common “Price-Up” (Up-Selling) they too often stop at the lowest price, sometime the middle package, but rarely make their way all the way to the TOP (Highest Value & Price) package. – - Forget the “Mother Of All Packages” type opportunity! That will rarely, if ever happen if you start at the bottom and try to work your way UP.

Sorry, just what the experience and testing reveals.

Oh SURE, there is no such thing as a “Magic Marketing Bullet” and on some vary rare occasions it does actually make more service sense to “work-up” to the sales offer, but for the most part, the highest and best good of all parties involved (IF you do your job correctly) is in the “Price-Down” or “Take-Away” process.

=> “Price-Down” (Take-Away) always allows for a better opportunity to paint a more completed and comprehensive “Big Picture” Service Solutions Outline and Result for you and your buying re-elationship! – - – You see, they get THAT ‘picturesque rich experience’ insidiously imbedded into their minds and now are  A LOT LESS willing to ‘give up the RESULTS they imagined and truly want, need and desire’ (if you have done a good job of creating that WANT of course!) during the ‘take-away’ process.

Sure, there is a bit more to it in the over-all influence, persuasion & sales process that just that, but the basics are right there! But if you have the chance to simple work from the top-down or the bottom up, you may wish to examine and test the ramifications of each in your own success solutions business!

Success is not usually about the one or two BIG things you may or may not do. Success in life and in business is often won in the minute details of your existing habits and systems of success.

The only real technical difference between an International Gold Olympic Medalist and a athlete that never even ‘placed’ is often minute fraction of one-single-second… plan your win, win, win!
