Samsung used the IFA in Berlin last week to show off what it says is the world’s first LTE-HSPA+ dual mode embedded netbook. It could be one of the triggers for all device providers, including the anticipated swathe of tablet makers, to throw the switch on producing HSPA only devices, and begin adjusting their product lines to embrace LTE instead of, or as well as. Samsung introduced it in a dual mode netbook, called the Samsung N350.

The spec on the N350 is nothing very wonderful, it is supposed to be ultra-thin and Samsung says it will allow customers internet speeds comparable with fixed internet services. It might offer that when in reach of an LTE base station, but right now finding a HSPA equipped base station in Europe is still a too much of a novelty, rather than raw 3G or Edge, so finding an LTE service will be even more rare. The device is rumored to be for Verizon Wireless to show off its shiny new LTE network in the US due to go live late this year.

The N350 netbook comes with a 10.1 inch 1024 x 600 display and is powered by the Intel Atom Pinetrail single-core 1.66GHz N455 processor or the dual core Atom N550. It has 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive and has a 1.3 megapixel webcam, it has Wi-Fi and runs Windows 7 Starter as its OS. The netbook will also use Samsung’s new Easy Share system which can allow content sharing a DLNA capable devices such as Blu-ray players and TV sets.

The chip inside is almost certainly one of the Qualcomm Gobi variants, perhaps the MDM 9200 or the MDM 9600 which support LTE in dual carrier mode with HSPA+ (9200) or with these two formats plus EV-DO Rev (9600), which were released in March.

The new ultra-thin N350 is a light and compact netbook with embedded LTE-HSPA+ dual mode technology. This new technology gives users the best in wireless technologies allowing them to experience internet speeds that are comparable with fixed internet services. The N350 harnesses the power of two technologies and allows users to make the most of both 3G and 4G networks. Using dual mode technology, users will be able to stay connected in areas without LTE services using a standard and widely available 3G network.

What confuses us is why Samsung has added this capability at all, and if it had to, why not focus on giving it to its new Tab 7 inch tablet it launched at the show, which Vodafone is taking in Europe. Surely it will be tablets that make the most out of LTE to begin with, and owners of tablets are less likely to want an LTE dongle hanging off their device, than the owner of a beefier looking Netbook.

The N350 was launched with 4 other series of devices, the QX series notebooks, the SF series notebooks and NF series netbooks and the RF series of to end multimedia notebooks.Samsung N350 notebook price at €429 ($553) in Germany this autumn.

The ExoPC slate has been a tablet of much fascination for some and for those people who are interested in owning the 11.6″ Windows 7 tablet pre-orders are being taken now. The tablet is being released in Canada so if you are in Europe you’ll have to plan accordingly for shipping the tablet.

Although this good new about pre-orders does come with a little bit of bad news. The 64GB model will no longer come with GPS functionality built-in and the battery is said to only last through on average 4 hours of use. Other than the GPS and battery life news ExoPC is also excited to announce the tablet will come with “new SSD from Sandisk, really fast”. The SSD used is the SanDisk P4 mini-SSD, the drive provides up to 160MB/s write speeds and 220MB/s read speeds.

iRiver Story is a slim and cute 6-inch eReader that the company showed off at CES this year but which never launched in the U.S. That wasn’t a huge surprise as the eReader market here is getting pretty cutthroat. If you can’t deliver 3G or Wi-Fi or touch or something else to differentiate your product along with a sub-$200 or, even better, a sub-$150 price point, then perhaps it’s better to not bother. That’s why I have little hope of seeing the new iRiver Cover Story hit U.S. shelves even though it has several great features, many not seen on popular models.

The device can read several book and document formats including EPUB, PDF, TXT, Word, Excel and even Power Point, which is more than most mainstream eReaders can handle. In addition to playing MP3, WMA and OGG audio files, the Cover Story will also record voice memos in MP3 format.

The Wi-Fi version will incorporate an e-mail app that can pull and send emails from over 3 different POP accounts. Via the e-mail app users can send their notes, memos, highlights and more from within books as an attachment. While it’s just a screenshot and not actual text, I can see several uses for this function. This feature-set isn’t as robust as what Plastic Logic promised with the Que.

The Display of this e-reader has some issues with reflection.Because the layer over the e-ink screen makes touch possible.Now the contrast appeared pretty deep and the screen was definitely readable,but it is so much distracting when it is in sun.But the touch screen decently responsive when tapping within menus, selecting text, and drawing in the memo area.

The 6.6 x 5.0 x 0.5 inch device is pretty light — just 9.9 ounces — and has the same 6-inch screen as the Story and just about every other mainstream eReader. The Cover Story has a smaller footprint since it’s touch-based and thus needs fewer buttons. The buttons it does have are mostly on the top and left edges except for a multi-use button/bar on the front left. With this you can turn pages by flipping it forward or back (similar to the iRex DR800SG) and access the Home and Back functions.

The Cover Story is so named because it comes standard with a plastic cover, just like the PocketBook 360. They each have an attractive checked design and come in White, Blue Silver, Lime Green, Hot Pink, Baby Pink, Beige and Titan to match the eReader’s color choices. But there may be an opportunity to buy decorative or skinned covers in the future similar to the wall display at iRiver’s IFA booth.

Another similarity to the PocketBook 360 is the built-in G-sensor that will automatically flip the orientation in all four directions. So whether you’re right or left handed, you can use your dominant hand to turn pages. I heartily approve of this approach.

The two biggest drawbacks of the Cover Story are the big ones: performance and price. While it’s not a total slug, the device didn’t react instantly to taps or button presses, took longer than I liked to load screens and open books, and turned pages in about 2 or 3 seconds. Long enough to notice, not long enough to be ridiculous. Still, that’s a big problem for an eReader that costs over 200 euro, and that’s without the Wi-Fi. The price on that version isn’t set yet, but either way both are more expensive than the Kindle and Nook.

The first one shows the next-gen iPhone 5 as a very thin device, a lot thinner than the current iPod touch 4G.Apple will probably take more than a years to launch such a device.When it will launch it will be magical to everybody.

The second iPhone
5 design shows an iPhone 4-like design and the outer antenna is still there. What’s interesting about it are the apps, which are totally new, and they’d definitely convince you to buy the phone. And here’s what regular apps will be able to do on this iPhone 5, as there will be an app that:

    * Attracts UFOs
* Ex-foliation
* Spins straw into gold
* Enables time travel
* Makes you invisible
* Pie on demand
* Get out of jail free
* Predicts future, changes past
* Controls weather & stock market
* Makes broccoli taste like chocolate
* Masseuse
* Gives flu to your ex
* Cures flu
* Repairs appliances
* Cosmetic surgery
* Cleans teeth
* Does your taxes & your hair
* 3D video camera
* Plays 3D movies
* Washes your cat

So, there’s an app for everything in the iPhone 5.It’s now time for wait and wait.

Sony knows that the ebook market is here to stay, which is why the company has rolled out new Digital Readers to the masses recently, where the models would include the new Reader Pocket Edition, Reader Touch Edition and, in only the US for the moment, the wireless Reader Daily Edition. All three of them will be chock full of the latest technology and design enhancements which makes them ideal for just about any reader’s lifestyle.

Expect aluminum to be the in thing where construction material is concerned for gizmos these days, as the new Reader models will boast elegant aluminum designs and all new, highly responsive touch screens. Not only that, Sony will also back up hardware with software, having announced development of a set of applications for iPhone and the Android Marketplace which will be able to extend the Readers experience via a variety of portable devices.

Each generation ought to see improvement, which is why Sony has reduced the size and weight in this restyle. All three models will now come with improved, optical touch screen technology that was specially designed for digital reading. This new first-to-market technology will help enhance the ease of use and increases reading clarity, enveloping the reader in an immersive reading experience.

All it takes is the lightest swipe of a finger or stylus pen to jump into the world of the author’s fantasy and imagination. Apart from that, the three models will use E Ink Pearl electronic paper displays that are capable of duplicating a paper-like display which can be read comfortably even under direct sunlight. The screens deliver a high contrast ratio with 16 levels of grayscale, where all text and images remain crisp and easy to read.

The Reader Pocket Edition will come with a five-inch, full touch screen in silver and pink colors, aided by 2GB internal memory and wil retail for $179. As for the Reader Touch Edition, this 6-inch device will also have 2GB of internal memory that can be further augmented via dual expansion slots for up to 32GB of additional memory, while doubling up as a portable audio player with MP3 and AAC playback capability. It will retail for $229 and will come in black or red colors. Last but not least would be the Reader Daily Edition which will feature Wi-Fi connectivity to Sony’s Reader Store, 2 GB of internal memory and expansion slots, all going for $299 in a silver shade.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has already succeeded at getting the public’s attention, now the question that remains is how much will this 7-inch tablet cost. That question partially answered when some overzealous European resellers started announcing their prices for the tablet with no contracts. The prices they annouced were pretty shocking, the 16GB is being offered for €699, and the 32GB model for €799. To equate those figures to US dollars that is about $900 for the 16GB model and $1000 for the 32GB model.

Those numbers are high enough to scare away just about anybody. So it came as no surprise when an Executive dished on how much the Galaxy Tab will cost you on contract with a phone carrier. The Executive said in an interview with dailymail.co.uk that the tablet is “supposed to cost between $200 and $300, depending on phone carrier subsidies”.One carrier in the UK that has already said they will carry the Samsung Galaxy Tab in October is Vodafone, a rumored US carrier is Sprint.

There are some benefits but there are also some disadvantages for the Galaxy Tab being tied to a contract. A couple of benefits include a dedicated phone service (the Galaxy Tab can make voice phone calls, see the full specifications for the Galaxy Tab) and 3G connectivity. Now the disadvantage should be a clear one, you will have to sign a probable 2-year contract with a carrier and sign yourself up to get an extra phone/data bill in addition to the one you already probably getting every month.

The kit includes one PadTab mount that sticks to the back of your iPad. You also get two wall tabs that bond to a wall or fridge. No tools are necessary for the installation. Unlike the recently released Wallport, which has an aluminum frame, the PadTab is literally a hanger for the iPad, so you don’t see the mount. The wall tabs themselves are clear so they’re relatively inconspicuous if your iPad isn’t mounted there.

PadTab’s makers–who describe themselves as “two longtime friends, both gadget lovers and entrepreneurs”–say you can mount the iPad even if it’s in a case, though presumably it would need to be a low-profile one. Given that the makers say that the adhesive is industrial strength, it’s not clear how hard it will be to get the tabs off your walls or your iPad itself if you change your mind. It’s also not clear how strong the hanger is, and if it would hold up in a more seismically prone area like the West Coast.

The PadTab is available at the price of $29.99.In that price you should get two mounts so you can have to places already set up for your iPad for hang out anywhere in ur home.Isn’t PadTab is a great hardwere?

The complete procedure is given below.

1. Download Stock Android 1.6 Package using below link

Link 1: http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?url=paul/streak/Streak_104_4399_21.pkg

Alternate Link 2: http://94.229.165.73/Falcon/DellStreak/Streak_104_4399_21.zip

2. Now copy above downloaded file to SD card and rename to ‘update.pkg’ (you will need to use a micro sd reader or potentially another phone that uses micro sd to copy the file on).

3. Now insert SD card to your Dell Streak (Make sure your Dell Streak is turned off while inserting SD card).

4. Now hold down both volume buttons on the phone and select the power button.

5. Now you will be presented with 4 options out of which Select “Update firmware from pkg”.

6. Allow the process to fully complete, The phone will reboot (takes about 5-10mins to fully complete and you should see O2 bubble logo).

That’s all.

If you want you may proceed with below method to update your Dell Streak to Android 2.1.

1. You can now either update directly through the prompt you get from Dell/O2 procedure to use. -http://www.o2.co.uk/dellStreakupdate

2. Or you can run the update manually. The file can be downloaded from http://mobileupdate.dell.com/latestbuild/LatestBuild_21.html

3. Download this, copy to the MicroSD card
and rename to update.pkg

4. Run the update the same as previously. Boom a working Dell Streak Android 2.1 O2 phone.

The steps are given below.

Step 1: Open up Preware or whatever package application manager you use and download the app Terminal.

Step 2: Download psfreedom.ko file.

Step 3: Plug your phone to your computer and enable usb mode.

Step 4: Copy the psfreedom.ko file to the ROOT of your phone.

Step 5: Eject your phone and reboot it.

Step 6: Open up the Terminal app and type the following: insmod /media/internal/psfreedom.ko

Step 7: Press enter. If it gives an error about a file being busy, just retype it and press enter again.

Step 8: If successful, another line will appear.

Step 9: Now turn the switch in the back of your PS3 off (or unplug the cable if you have a slim) and then flip it back on (or plug the cable back in).

Step 10: Plug your phone into the first usb port. Turn on the console and immediately afterwards press eject.

Step 11: If you did it right,the PS3 should take a little longer to boot. Now check the game column and you should see two new icons.

Step 12: Download the backup manager–Google it. And place the manager.pkg file onto the root of any usb flash drive.

Step 13: Plug it in to any available usb port and open the Install Package Files icon on the PS3.

Step 14: After installing it, simply back out and open the newly installed program.

Step 15: If a disc is inserted you should see the title on the screen. Press circle to backup to an external harddrive (must be formatted to FAT32), press cancel to backup to the internal drive.

Step 16: After it is done, you may eject the disc and backup another game. But remember, a game disc MUST be inserted to play a backup.

Step 17: To boot up a game, simply open up the backup manager and press x on the title you want to play. Reboot your phone to restore USB functionality.

If you turn off your PS3 and your phone is still plugged in you don’t have to redo any extra steps. Just hard-power it off, press power then eject immediately afterwards, and your good to go.

The pool cue is controlled by the user’s finger to get the angle and power correct to pocket each ball. If you get stuck on any level you will get an image of the correct angle to hit the white ball.

MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team revealed:
it’ll be userland JB if @comex can pull trifecta. Else, wait for new HW cycle (also remember: hole!=exploit)

According to iSpazio, Comex has two methods to jailbreak iOS 4.1. The first one is a userland jailbreak, which will allow him to release a tool like JailbreakMe to jailbreak iOS 4.1.

The second one is based on a bootrom exploit like Blackra1n, which is more complicated and will take Comex more time to release it.

Well, wait for Comex or Dev Team to release tools to jailbreak iOS 4.1.Till then stay with us for the latest update.

While it’s far from the most practical of ideas, people just can’t seem to stop trying to make their iPhones more SLR-like. Joining that illustrious group is one Aniebres who, typos aside, has built one of the most impressive contraptions to date. We’re still waiting to see what the end results look like, but the hardware side of things looks to be surprisingly solid, with the iPhone 4 slotting in with a satisfying click, while the entire lens mechanism has been shifted over to line up with the iPhone’s camera (and make room for an Apple sticker).Is it usefull for you or not?

This week at Apple’s music event, Ping was introduced as the newest and star addition to the iTunes 10, and boy has it caught on. Ping users can follow updates from both their friends and their favorite music artists. It includes custom song and album charts, a news feed and 17,000+ concert listings.

Ping (Ping) has had a rocky road since its launch late on Wednesday. Apple’s social network has been hit with comment spam and international availability issues. The company’s in up-and-down talks with Facebook (Facebook) over integrations and API use. It’s also received lackluster reviews from the media.

However, that hasn’t stopped droves of people from trying out the iTunes-based social network. Apple says that 1/3 of users that have downloaded iTunes 10 have joined Ping.

Should we be surprised, though? More than 160 million people have iTunes, and curiosity is always at a high after an Apple event. However, while Ping may have 1 million registered users, that doesn’t mean they’ll still be using the social network three months from now. That is the numbers we’ll be interested in, because it is what will determine the fate of Ping as a service.

So nature lovers planning to go hiking this fall need these 12 useful iPhone apps to make their excursions less prone to the dangers of the wilderness.

1. AccuTerra

This map comes with GPS coordinates and doesn’t need to be folded. Download your neck of the woods for $1.99 or get unlimited access to all maps for $4.99. The app tracks your trail as you hike, allowing you to place markers at significant points along the way and review your hike duration, distance, pace, and elevation gain at any point. All maps are stored in your phone’s memory, so no reception is no problem.

2. Star Walk

Scroll through a virtual copy of the sky so that you can better appreciate the real one. Star Walk maps the sky from your viewpoint. If you’re facing south, for instance, you can find the map for the constellations and planets in front of you by scrolling to the south arrow on the Star Walk map. Clicking on stars provides coordinates and more information. It’s an easy way to start learning about astronomy for $2.99.

A night mode tints the screen red and makes it easier to read on an otherwise jarringly bright screen in the dark.

3. Scats and Tracks

Some people yell, “Hey, I found a footprint!” You can be the person who yells, “Hey, I found an eastern chipmunk footprint … or maybe it’s an eastern gray squirrel!” Scats and Tracks provides everything you need to decode what animals leave behind on the trail. It includes illustrations of all footprints, animals, and yes … scat types. The backyard version is free. Guides to specific regions cost $3.99.

4. Elevation Pro

This $0.99 app is pretty simple. It tells you what your current elevation is. Of course it’s an essential component of any decent bragging tales you plan to tell after your hike. Elevation includes two different calculations. One is the ground elevation using USGS data at your current location. The other is a calculation using the GPS on your phone.

There’s also a tweet button, so you don’t need to waste any time with that bragging.

5. Park Maps

Imagine that you drove to every notable U.S. State Park and picked up a map at the entrance. And then you carried all of those maps around with you wherever you went. This app would be the paperless version of that. No bells or whistles, just every hiking map you need for $.99.

6. Army Survival

There is always a chance that you will become hopelessly and desperately lost for days. If you have the Army Survival Guide on your phone (and a bit of battery life left), you could potentially avoid the embarrassment of perishing in the wilderness alone.

More likely, you’ll find the $1.99 guide to be appropriate entertainment and conversation kindling.

7. Coleman Lantern

This free lantern is shameless advertising, but it’s also pretty cool. Choose from a selection of classic and modern-style lanterns and adjust the light for your needs. At full blast, the lantern throws out a decent amount of light. Like other flashlight-type apps, it does use a lot of battery and is probably best used as an entertaining addition to your primary light source.

Bird guidebooks are probably most useful when taken into the woods, but its hard to justify carrying around a huge tome when you plan to walk all day. The iBird guides are just as good as hardcovers, but much lighter.

iBird apps include detailed bird portraits, range maps, taxonomies, key factors for identification, and song and call recordings from the Macaulay Library at the Lab of Ornithology. Fifteen common birds of North America are free, but more extensive guides by region cost $9.99. The true bird fanatic can opt for the $29.99 pro version, which has info on more than 900 birds.

Conservation organization The National Audubon Society knows its trees. And you can too, with its tree reference app. Browse trees by family (like Maple or Beech) or by name. If you’re not sure what kind of tree you’re looking at, there’s also a quick guide that helps you identify the tree based on its shape or leaves. GPS allows you to plot your sightings, and you can use the app to file your tree photos (or enjoy the 2,000 color photographs included in the app). At $9.99, this is probably an app reserved for avid tree enthusiasts.

This $1.99 app is as beautiful as it is useful. An elegant index of butterflies fills the home screen. Scroll for more index pages or tap the butterfly that you want to identify. You’ll get an animated close up of the illustrated butterfly and learn its name.

When you spot something on the trail that looks like the tasty (but expensive!) Morel from last weekend’s farmer’s market, it can be tempting to snag it for your dinner. But amateur mushroom hunting can be a dangerous sport.

So dangerous, in fact, that the user agreement for this app guide to mushrooms includes an “important poisoning disclaimer.” In other words, it can’t hurt to double-check.

Roger Phillip’s guide includes a searchable database of mushrooms with photos and important details like each fungus’s location, normal size, and edibility. You can also locate the unknown mushrooms you encounter with a visual key or filtered search. The lite version is free, but considering the possible consequences of eating an unknown mushroom, it might be worth springing for the $1.99 full version, which includes more listings.

Tune in to bird songs by training yourself with this free app. Select your region to see the birds that are commonly heard there. You can sort the birds by name, how commonly they are seen, or their song style and listen to each bird’s unique tweets. The app also provides a picture of each bird to make spotting nearby tweeters easier.

Once you’re learned the calls in your area, you can test your knowledge in a challenge that asks you to match each song with the appropriate bird.

This is a huge troubling process. But once you have done this process can be solved for ever. And it will be the most easyest process to you. I like to give all the credit to xda-developers as i followed their process. Here is have share the whole process and my experience i gather through the process.

Process:

Format the SD card supplied with the phone form your pc. (After connecting the Data cable format the removable disk form MY Computer )

Copy your new ROM zipfile to the root directory of the SDCARD. DO NOT name it update.zip. DO NOT unzip it.

Copy the contents of Clockwork_Aria_MT3GS.zip to the tools directory of your SDK, along with your ROM zipfile of choice.

Power up the phone, holding down the VOL-DOWN button.

Wait about 30 seconds, until some diagnostic checking is done.

Press volume down to highlight recovery, but to do not push power to execute just yet.

Open a command prompt and navigate to your SDK tools directory.

Start the loop.bat file and let it run. (Optional if you don’t mind running adb devices until the decide to show up).

Get ready to connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable, but don’t connect one end until you read the next step.

This part is a PIA and it’s critical, and it’s inconsistent and therefore may take quite a few tries to get it right: Pushing the power button first and then approximately one second later plug in the USB cord. (Think ONE THOUSAND ONE-PLUG)

When the triangle/exclaimation over phone graphic appears, hold volume up and press power. This will bring you to stock recovery.

If this works, your loop running the adb devices command will list the device. If not, start from the beginning from power up. This can take a lot of tries, be patient and don’t give up. Not all SD cards will work reliably.

Once devices are listed in the loop, hit CTRL-C to terminate the loop if you’ve started one. Hurdle one complete.

In recovery, use volume down to select Apply sdcard:update.zip and push the power button to execute (This will fail, but it’s enabled write access for me.)

adb push ota.zip /sdcard/update.zip and press the enter on keyboard to execute. (No – that’s not a typo)

If that pushes without error, then enter adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip but do NOT press enter.

In recovery, again scroll down with power down to select sdcard:update.zip but do not execute yet.

Press the power button and then watch phone to say “verifying” and then press enter IMMEDIATELY on the keyboard. If timed right, Clockwork recovery should load. If not, start back at step push ota.zip /sdcard/update.zip and repeat from there until clockwork loads.

Optional: From Clockwork Recovery, do a Nandroid backup.

From Clockwork Recovery, select install zip from sdcard, and execute, then choose zip from sdcard and execute, and then you can scroll down to your pre-rooted rom of choice and execute that to flash it. In Clockwork you can scroll with trackpad or volume buttons, and you can execute with either the power button or a trackpad button push.

If you get stuck trying to get Clockwork to load:

Try a different sdcard and start again from the first step.

Also, enable installation of non-Market (untrusted) apps (sideloading):

COMMON:

Start the phone normally.

Enable USB debugging (settings > applications > development > USB Debugging)

Leave the phone running – do not reboot to Clockwork.

adb remount

adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db settings.dbLinux/OS X:

echo “update secure set value = 1  where name = ‘install_non_market_apps’;”|./sqlite3 settings.dbWINDOWS:

echo update secure set value = 1  where name = ‘install_non_market_apps’;|sqlite3 settings.dbCOMMON:

adb push settings.db /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

Reboot phone and sideloading works. (thanks to fluffyarmada)

When I get a chance, I’ll figure out how to do a proper menu toggle.

So this is the whole process form forum.xda-developers. Form my experience you will face the main trouble in the process 10. If you could not make it up just jont give up. Keep trying because the success in on the time between Pushing the power button and plug in the USB cord. You have to just do it on 1sec gap. If you can done with the time it will be very easy to connect more and more. In the first time i have tried for 3-4 hour. But once i get the strategy i succeed on every plug in. So just try and share your experience here.
