They've christened it as (c'mon, hold your breath!) MTNL 3G Jadoo.

In case you're wondering, we're not kidding about the name.

This being a soft-launch of 3G Jadoo, initially, only some parts of Delhi would have access to the service. Currently, the areas being covered are: Connaught Place, Sanchar Bhawan, Rajaji Marg, India Gate, Pragati Maidan, Delhi Gate, and Minto Road.

So, if you have a phone that supports 3G, and needless to say, an MTNL connection with GPRS activation, take a walk around the areas listed and see if the 'E' or 'G' (that denotes connectivity) on your phone turns to 3.5G!

In case you're curious to know about the speeds being offered, connect your phone to your notebook to find out.

MTNL is not charging extra for the service introduced today as it wants its customers to get a feel of 3G's capabilities. Eventually, there will be a commercial tariff plan announced, and the registration will start after the commercial launch -- a couple of months from now.

Mumbai too will have a similar soft-launch for MTNL's 3G services two months hence, says J. Gopalan, executive director, MTNL (Mumbai).

He adds, "The first phase would include trial services to be offered in areas between the Airport and Prabhadevi. The second phase would include South Bombay."

State-owned telecom operators MTNL and BSNL have the first-mover advantage to offer 3G services in India. With Delhi services commencing today, Mumbai will follow suit in two months' time. Chennai too will get to experience 3G services in January 2009 through BSNL.

Sooner or later (MTNL plans to offer 3G services across India by mid-2009), our countrymen will be able to surf the internet with speeds up to 2Mbps on their smart phones.

MTNL will be installing 15 lakh 3G lines in the first phase of its 3G roll-out in Mumbai and Delhi (which currently have 35 lakh existing mobile lines).

Now that it's finally happening, if you live in Delhi or Mumbai, do you plan to get yourself an MTNL connection just to get a taste of high-speed internet on your smartphone?

What is 3G? Does India need it?

Current WAP speed in India is nothing great but it has improved. I understand from my friends who are experts in telecom that you cannot improve the speed performance of WAP any further on a GSM network (which is 2G). I am told only 3G can improve things. So what is 3G?

Ex-Telecom Minister Dayanadi Maran was in the verge of releasing the 3G guidelines in India but he was shown the door. After the new Telecom Minister took over there was some talk about India going with 2.5G, which enables high-speed data transfer over upgraded existing 2G networks.

The GSM and CDMA networks are classed as second generation while the defunct analogue network was the first of the mobile network generations.

3G, or third generation, is the generic term used for the next generation of mobile communications systems. The new systems will enhance the services available today and offer multimedia and internet access and the ability to view video footage.

With a 3G phone and access to the 3G network you can send and receive video calls, watch live TV, access the internet, receive emails and download music tracks, as well as the usual voice call and messaging services found on a mobile phone.

Technically, the main difference between 3G and 2G networks is how quickly data can be sent and received. 3G networks can send data up to 40 times the rates of earlier digital networks, which means that in addition to audio, graphics and text, 3G customers can also send and receive video content, in 3G coverage areas. They provide service at 5-10 Mb per second.

3G was introduced in the United States early in 2002. By late 2004, it was finally providing transmission speeds sufficient to handle full-motion video, albeit over short periods of time (15 seconds to three minutes, in most cases). The third generation technology used in the UK is called UMTS. These services operate at 2100 MHz. (2.1GHz).

Upgrading to 3G will be an expensive affair for all telcos. All telco hardware vendors would have another reason to drool in India!

While we are still not sure when India will get 3G, the technology has already moved on to “beyond 3G” or “4G”. A 4G system will be able to provide a comprehensive IP solution where voice, data and streamed multimedia can be given to users on an “Anytime, Anywhere” basis, and at higher data rates than previous generations.

For any telco to offer 3G the government has to allocate the spectrum. Allocation of spectrum is becoming a mess but ultimately it will be solved (after all it cannot be more complex than pleasing the Left in the govt!!).

I personally believe mobile users in India will have a far better experience after 3G becomes a reality.

Thanks : http://www.mahesh.com/2007/11/27/what-is-3g-does-india-need-it

All about Alloys!

Alloy is a mixture of two or more metals, which are of a certain proportion, with the metal in the larger proportion being called the base metal. In metallurgical science and in automobile engineering these kinds of “alloys” are used for enhancing the quality of the mechanical machines by increasing their resistance to wear and tear.
The alloy metals are preferred in the manufacture of wheels over other metals due to the fact that these alloy metals provide a higher degree of strength and a dramatic reduction in weight over ferrous metals such as steel. They characterize the ideal material from which high performance wheels can be designed. In fact, in the present day it is difficult to imagine a first class racing car or a high performance highway cruiser vehicle that doesn't make use of the benefits that these alloy wheels offer.

The alloy which is used in wheels of the most superior of the road vehicles today is a blend of aluminum as the base metal and other elements. The "Mag Wheel" is at times erroneously used to describe the alloy wheels. Magnesium is in general considered to be an inappropriate alloy for usage in cruisers due to its brittle nature and vulnerability to corrosion. Its flammability doesn't help the cause either!

The Alloy wheel varies from the normal steel wheel, for the reason that they being lighter in weight improve the overall efficiency performance. Alloy wheels are also better conductors of heat than the steel wheels and this property improves heat dissipation from the brakes, and reduces the chances of brake failure in more challenging driving conditions. Hub caps are not usually used when the machine is fitted with an alloy wheel. This lowers the on the whole weight of the vehicle. However these alloy wheels are more posh than normal wheels, and even though they are becoming more affordable than before, they are not used on many cars.

Many aftermarket wheel brands such as Panther Wheel, American Racing Wheels, Motegi Racing Performance Wheels, Weld Racing, BBS, 5Zigen, Volk Racing and Konig offer a huge variety of alloy dubs. Due to the increasing demand from the street racers and the rising demand for larger dia wheels many companies have been formed over the years. Aftermarket wheels have also been saturated due to the vast invasion of low-priced chrome alloy wheels from the East Asian countries like China. India, through the face of Synergies Castings Ltd. and other companies has also emerged as a major provider of alloy / chrome wheels. They produce products to global scale due to largely cheap but highly skilled and skilled labor.

A sizeable selection of alloy wheels are used by automobile owners who fancy lighter, prettier, rarer, larger wheels on their cars, use these not only to increase performance, or to manipulate handling and suspension, but they use it as to signify luxury, sportiness, or wealth. These wheels have now become an essential part of pop culture. If you want your mean machine to get a smooth, sleek and sexy look go get a pair of alloys today!

iLASIK and LASIK usage in the military and NASA

iLASIK and LASIK usage in the military and NASA

LASER has been a revelation for the military and science. NASA and the US military are making use of a technology called LASIK and iLASIK. The NASA and military use this technology for increasing the performance of mission-critical personnel using laser vision correction technologies that have benefited civilians for more than five years. A complete laser form of LASIK is being used by the Department Of Defense and NASA likewise to improve the sighting capabilities of personnel in extreme conditions.

The Department of Defense and NASA has said that the use of LASIK has led them to keep a high standard of safety and heavily praise the effectiveness of LASIK. Steven Schallhorn was instrumental in the use of LASIK technology and has done a great amount of research in it. He is a retired US Navy Captain and leader of clinical research in this technology.

The most modern form of this useful technology is called as the ILASIK™ Procedure; the significant difference between the two is that the latter one makes use of two LASERS instead of one, which makes it more effective. In its initial stage, the iLASIK was able to achieve the wave-front technology maps which are unique characteristics of the human eye.

There is an ultra fast, computer guided LASER which acts as a corneal flap. In the earlier technology, they made use of handheld microkerotome blade which enabled it to be exceptionally safe. After the creation of the flap, the wave front technology guider the secondary LASER for vision correction.

The combination of these extremely efficient laser technologies enable us to create a custom fit procedure clinically proven to ensure extreme safety and excellent visual results.

Recently, the military flaunted that they could achieve 20/20 uncorrected and better vision with the use of iLASIK. The test was performed with 100 personnel out of whom 95% showed a positive result. When enquired in detail, 100% of those who had undergone this surgery had recommended this to other naval officers and compatriots.
According to Dr. Schallhorn, “technologically speaking, there is no better time than now to join the over 12 million Americans who have benefited from LASIK."

For more LASIK information just visit the site and know more about it.Take a quick tour of the site and consult your doctor for your compatibility.

It is completely safe procedure for healthy and better vision!

How to Make Firefox Load Pages Faster

Steps

Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Any half-conscious marketing executive would commit suicide before putting both a numeral 2 and the word "duo" in the name of a product, particularly when there's also a product with "solo" in the name. But let's put that aside and look at the specs of each.

Core Duo is Intel's first dual-core CPU. It's a whole new architecture for Microsoft, using two cores on a single die, which, put simply, gives you two chips in one package. Running at lower speeds than the old Pentium line, the Core Duo conserves substantial power vs. ratcheting up clock speed while offering what was, at the time, record-breaking performance.

Now there's Core 2 Duo. In many ways Core 2 is the same as Core: The chips are built using the same production process and fit in the same sockets as Core Duo chips. Putting aside Core 2 Extreme (a fancy version of the Core 2 Duo), you won't see many spec changes: Both chips have the same frontside bus speed of 667MHz, but Core 2 Duo is now available at somewhat faster clock speeds (as I write this, 2.67GHz chips are available). The frontside bus communicates between the CPU and RAM (and other components), and it's a notorious performance bottleneck for computers. The Core 2 also has the same L2 cache that the Core has. However, there are architecture changes to the silicon that give the Core 2 more sophisticated processing abilities. Both chips exist in desktop and laptop versions.

Why does all of this matter? Performance, pure and simple. In my tests, Core 2 Duo computers outperform Core Duo computers on tasks across the board, from rendering graphics and video to spell-checking documents. The speed improvement varies widely, but on average it's about 30 percent. That's significant in an industry that thrives on tiny, incremental improvement. Better yet, there's not an appreciable difference in battery life on notebooks, as power consumption for both chips (at the same clock speed) is about the same.

Now let's consider pricing. Initially, Core 2 chips were more expensive than Core, but that has changed, as Core is practically gone from the desktop market now. Surprisingly, you can now get a 2.13GHz Core 2 CPU for less than the price of a 1.66GHz Core CPU.

Still, expect to see some systems still on the market that use the Core CPU, especially in laptops. Performance is still very good with Core, so don't feel like you're getting second-class goods if you buy a Core Duo notebook, but remember you are buying a chip that Intel is no longer actively selling, and prices for Core 2 systems aren't really any different than they were for Cores. If it was my money, I'd hold out for a Core 2 system unless you got a great deal on a Core... which will be all but vanished from the market in a matter of months.

Find.com - The All New Search Engine

If you like to surf over the web and would always look out for the best out of the web, Find.com Search Engine is the best way to head about. Follow these and you might well save them from getting erased.
• Avoid storing photographs in huge albums. They are made of ordinary plastic, glue and cardboard which may damage them over time. Get rid of any glue, tape, rubber band, paper clips that might stain scratch or dent photographs before placing them back into the album.
• Make it a point to gently to label the back of each photo gently with a permanent marker. Include names and age of those in the photo and write the location or occasion when it was taken. This will be a good reminder for those who inherit your photos to identify them. DO NOT use ball point as the pressure of the tip may damage the photo face and the ink may fade over time.
• To store individual photos opt for separate plastic sleeves which can be purchased at photo supply stores. Plastic sandwich bags are good and cheap replacements for the plastic sleeves, if special supplies do not find a place in your budget.
• You can store large quantities of photos by layering them in-between with sheets of acid free paper in metal or acid-free cardboard boxes. These large photo achieve boxes can be stored easily in a cabinet or a closet.
• When framing the pictures, make sure that mats are used keep photos from touching the glass to avoid the deterioration of the image. Ask for acid free materials to be used when you opt for professional framing. They are expensive but worth it.
• When framing a precious photograph, make sure that you have a duplicate copy before framing, just in case it fades on display over time.

Four films for diwali – Tamil stars in lock horns | Aegan | Vaaranam Ayiram | Kandasaamy | Villu|

Four superstars of the Tamil film industry will lock horns in Diwali this year. All the four stars have the maximum number of fan base and have their own style of portrayal. Vikram, Surya, Ajith and Vijay will clash in a rare occasion which has never happened in Kollywood. However the releases are tentative with the audio of only one film getting released (Varanam Ayiram). Aegan and Kandasaamy’s audio will be released soon with Villu’s audio release date uncertain.

Of the four films Kandasaamy, with Vikram in the lead is the most lavish and hyped film. The shooting has been going for quite sometime till now. Sources say that post-production work is still going on. In this film Vikram is said to play a role of a man, who fulfills the wishes of the poor and needy. Vikram with his penchant for challenging characters seems to carry out the roles with élan. The trailers hint that Vikram may play a superhero kind of the role. My bet is on this film as the visuals and songs seem to be more promising than the other rivals.

Vaaranam Ayiram is another film by Gautham Menon with Surya in lead. Surya has is body toned out for the movie and will portray a student of Mechanical Engineering. The storyline is yet to be released and will be interesting to see if it will create any freshness in the slack Tamil film industry. This is second film for Gautham with Surya. The trailer has given the film much needed enthusiasm. However the songs seem to be much of a flop as Harris Jeyaraj seems to run out of ideas. The only song which stands out is “Adiye Kolluthe” sung by Shruthi Hassan.

Aegan directed by Raju Sundaram with Ajith in lead is yet another remake, from the Hindi film Kal ho Na Ho which had Shah Rukh Khan as hero. Audio of the movie will soon be released. We will be seeing Ajith in a new garb, flaunting a full beard. The still pictures from the photo shoot gave a hint that it’ll be yet another battle between guns and cops. It is well known that Ajith will be seen as a CID. The original film was a pleasant watch with SRKs humor and hoopla. Can Ajith recreate the same?

Nothing much of Villu is known till now. The pictures of a very ‘colorful’ Vijay (pun intended) was released long back and it seems that the movie will be another “only-vijay-fans” movie. Will Prabhu Deva do anything new with him? The movie is tentative to release on Diwali.

All action right on Diwali! Enjoy the treat!

5 familiar diet catches – Avoid certain food items which may lead to weight gain | Tips

Choosing slow releasing carbs which can fill your belly and which gives you a long lasting energy (such as fruits, vegetables, pasta, porridge, beans and grainy bread) might be a much better option. At lunch, protein foods like tuna or chicken salad might do well. A cup of coffee will help you to get through afternoon low instead of high calorie sugary snacks

· The Food Mood

Do you feel like eating just because you are angry sad or unhappy? Try to recognize your trigger which makes you eat. You can do this by keeping a mood diary. Once you found the cause there must be no fuss in writing down the solution – ranting with friends, working out or being good to yourself might just do fine. For much complex problems, consider counseling. Eating regularly and not skipping meals would practically reduce the chance of stress related gorges.

· Guilt Complexion

There is nothing called a bad food – it’s the diet which counts. Start loving your food again and eat those foods which please you. Avoid those which make you uncomfortable. After some time you’ll learn to stop when you are full or when it stops tasting good

· Food On Run

It’s always hard to find a healthy food on run, so a thorough planning is the answer. Try to have healthy snacks (fruits, nuts, yoghurt or a veg sandwich) in your inventory. Try to pack your own lunch it’s healthier and cheaper too.

· Alls well that ends well

This is generally called as the all-or-nothing syndrome. You might well eat the whole pack of biscuits, but remember just eating the first! A dietary lapse isn’t necessarily a total collapse! You owe it to your body and might well get back with healthy eating. If you feel that allowing a small potion of favorite food is hard, you may need to keep away from those for a while.

History beckons: Akshay eager to play Tipu Sultan

Soon, we might be watching Tipu Sultan alive on our silver screens, if everything goes fine. He is likely produce the film as he finds the film to be engrossing. Akshay is set to research on the looks and likes of the historical figure to present a grand portrayal of the man and chronicle Tipu Sultans freedom struggle accurately. If the budget tends to exceed his capacity, he is very likely to tie up with a production house to make his job done ease, with himself in lead. Tipu Sultan was earlier portrayed in a tele-serial made by Sanjay Khan Years ago, but the sets got gutted by flames, injuring the crew. Remove the bottom of the cup about an inch up from the bottom with a modelling knife or scissors and then place the cup back together by gently sliding the top half of the cup into the base using a slight twisting action if needed. Stack the cup three quarters full with coins.

Pack the coins in tightly and then pour in a little coffee, enough to cover the coins completely.
Coffee works best because it's so dark and will hide the coins. The cup should now look like a normal cup of coffee and is now ready to present to an audience.
Performance: Comment on how the patterns on the side of the cup are magic symbols.
Holding the top half of the cup with one hand, gently push up the bottom half of the cup with a slight screwing action with your other hand, then shake the cup.
As the coins “unsettle” the coffee will spill between the cracks and the coins appear.
This trick can be done with any cup of the waxed paper type that are usually found in vending machines. Be careful not to use hot coffee. Take care when using the modelling knife as it is sharp, even better if your a kid, get an adult to cut it for you.

Step 1: Cut cup in to two. Step 2: Screw back together
Step 3: Pack tightly with coins.

Step 4: Pour in coffee. This has caused an increase in number or refits and repair yards dedicated to the marine industry. The older fiber glass yachts are increasingly being refit for various reasons. These reasons include trimming weight add some living space or to improve performance thus enhancing the owners experience and enjoyment of the yacht’s value.

Due to the prolonged usage, the vessels parts may get out of shape and may develop cracks creeps and other unwanted and dangerous complications. Many experts gather at Marine Exchange and Refit Exhibition Conference IMREX and share their case histories of projects and discuss options and solutions for the yacht owners and managers Refitting for the calibration of speed is one of the most common rebuilding projects.

The process of speed refitting involves streamlining or tweaking the underbody of the yacht such that water does not hinder the faster movement of the rudders or the underwater running gear of the vessel, Some of the owner seven opt to refit their yacht with a more efficient and a higher performance propulsion package. The hull replacement is the most preferred option with the other solid wood bulk heads decks and other overheads also being upgraded.

The up gradation doesn’t necessarily speed the boat these structural panels must be replaced with core composites. This will help in reducing the weight of the vessel. The most preferred material is the carbon fiber which is light in weight water proof and provides a better vessel properties tan others. The sail boats usually use this as their refits.

It has been proved in a research that any yacht can benefit from fewer pounds per square foot. During refits of a yacht more planed surface is normally desired for. This may refer to the refit of the highly loaded bottom. Any thing that benefits from the refits of the yacht is always referred to the speed ratings f the boat when compared to others.

In the process of refitting it is generally believed that the minimizing of weight , redistributing the weight of the vessel to various parts for attaining proper balance must be the prime factor. The longer the boat is the greater the speed of the boat when compared to as it had before the extension. The plus of this is that it requires same power as before.

The yacht also delivers better fuel economy and better characteristics when refit by this means. The characteristic of the yacht remains same over the power range. Along with carbon composite, graphite, kevlar and other hybrid products are generally used in go-fast yachts and motor yacht construction.

Apart from structural refit spending some money on the interiors for the refit may also benefit the yachting experience .There is only a little which can be done on he blow or the pilot house to change the look dramatically. The least expensive method of extending is by the addition of a swimming platform. The other refit options are much of creativity and of the owner’s requirements

Marine plumbing – Some information which interests me

Marine plumbing has a lot of similarities with civil plumbing but care has be taken with the selection of materials for the pipes and the drains. The fact is that marine plumbing deals with the saline water or salt water. There is tendency for metallic pipes to get corroded. Marine plumbing is actually much easier than the normal plumbing as it does not involve those rigid pipes running through the wall. In fact the pipes are rarely used on marine vessels and much more flexible hoses are normally preferred to carry water. These hoses are cheap non-corrosive and easy to handle too.

As the saline water is much heavier due to presence of salt and other minerals the tanks are mounted low where much more space is available. It is normally a practice to mount small tanks low to store water instead of a single large tank. This also helps in balancing of weight of the vessel on water. Rigid polyethylene tanks which are non-corrosive and light are the best sought of replacement for those heavy corrosive metallic one. These polyethylene tanks come in a lot of shapes and sizes. They also use something called as a bladder tank which is essentially a water bag, but serves the purpose well.

Water tanks normally have three threaded ports. Two of these are of half inch diameter and serve as outlets and vent hoses. The third one is normally of one and half inch diameter and is used as the inlet of the tank. The hose barbs of the threaded types are used for connecting these hoses. The deck fill has an o-ring which seals out the sea water when it is closed.

Marine Lighting – Some information which interests me

When one speaks of Marine Lighting in general there are various kinds to look upon. Spot lights, interior lights, exterior lights and deck lights form the integral part of marine lighting. While spot light aid the navigation of the ship on the water surface, the interior, exterior and the deck lights aid in beautifying the ship and its appearance. Some times flood lights are also used on board. There are many types of light used of which halogen, LED incandescent and fluorescent are the widely used. Each one has its advantage over the other in some aspects and conditions. For art or task halogens are the preferred as the have an excellent CRI (Color Rendering Index).Halogen or the fluorescent lighting with neutral color temperature can be used for general lighting purposes. Normally fluorescent with color rendering index of 80 or ore is used for the general lighting.

Light Emitting Diodes are excellent choice for the task, courtesy and specialty applications. Live well light stand and compartment lights mostly use LEDs.

Fluorescent lamps with a cool white color temperature are mostly used in engine rooms. They throw a lot of light and are really very efficient. The Incandescent lights are inexpensive, readily available. Further more they have a better color rendering than most of the other lights. The drawback is however is that they are very inefficient. They are easily affected by the voltage fluctuations and are not widely used to much extent

Even though these Light Emitting Diodes consume low energy and are much attractive choice for the marine vessels, their luminous flux is low compared to others. It is noted that this value plays a major part in sighting and navigation details. As these LED s are small, they have to be carefully calculated and fitted in certain angles and must be clustered together to provide the same amount of light a single Incandescent bulb.

It is interesting to note that even the angle of illumination should be varied depending on the application in marine lighting. In order to achieve a certain level of light to illuminate objects the LED must be placed in an angle of 15 to 20 degrees. Complying this bulk headed mounted reading lights are well suited for this type of illumination. This type of light is also called as the chart lights.

For the usage as courtesy lights, Light Emitting Diodes with a wider viewing angle or lower foot candles are the best of choice which can be made. However, the inverse ratios between this foot candles and viewing angles have made LEDs limited in their applications.

Shaded wall lights which are mostly incandescent, are used to provide finishing touch to many interior settings, creating a warm atmosphere for any yacht. Shades and bulbs for most of these must be chosen with care.

Advancement in marine lighting technology has bought about the usage of Xenon bulbs and researchers are trying to tap out the solar energy from the sun during the day and to use the same for lighting up the marine vessel in night. This reduces the wastage of electricity and other resources which are vital for humans.

MGinger - Earn easy money for reading SMS (messages) on your mobile - Review - SMS Markerting

Sms marketing.

It works by sending you advertisements in the form of SMS to your mobile phone. The adverts will consist of offers from various adertisers. You can select what type of adverts you want to receive by selecting your preferences. According to your interest it sends you offers. You can select the time when you want to receive the sms and also the number of sms you want to receive. You can also refer friends to this service and get paid, For every advert that your friend receives, you get 10p and for every advert that your friend’s friend receives you get 5p. So thats money in the making. You can make enough money so to free up the mobile bill every month… and other plus point here is you get cool offers which have been opted for…. Check it out Mginger.com

What is the future of mobile marketing in India. Huge if you askme. but still it has to be exploited judiciously or it will then be considered as boring as spam.

The main reason why mobile marketing will work, it is considered as more personal. You are bound to check an SMS as you are going to receive it directly on your mobile phone. Already you see companies like mobile2win, Hutch, BPL, Airtel sending you sms to download ringtones, logos etc you will soon see promotional sms for opening a bank account and even listen to free song on your mobile.

Since the government has started to fine telecalling companies for unsolicited calls Mobile marketing can work wonders as a viable option. As an advertising vehicle.

With over 160 Million mobile subscribers in the country A huge opportunity awaits to be tapped.

These mobile marketing companies namely mginger is a real good concept but basically it may be digging its own grave. As phone technolgy improves it gets real easy to delete a message without reading it. Users may join it just to get their mobile bill free up…. but if it uses user interactivity to keep the service alive it may well kick too because sending good offers gets users to check messagesm, something in the lines of signature lines. Sending free sms containing jokes and news with a sponsorers signature text below it is something tht will work for sure. As i said the content will be of interest to the user as he has opted for the news and jokes etc, and the company will also make money by having the signature lines.

Sign up for MGinger

What does this link do?

The Balducci Levitation Revealed - David Blaine - Magic Tips

Intro

The Balducci Levitation is an illusion
that can be performed anywhere,
anytime. The illustration to the left show
you the audience point-of-view.Stand
about 8 to 10 feet away from the
audience at a 45° 'backward' angle.
This is an angle sensitive trick. You
have to practice your angles over and
over to get used to them. One bad angle
or position and the illusion is blown!
The Secret
All there is to do is pretend to "float off of the ground while you
tippee-toe on just one foot (the foot furthest from their view) as
shown to the right and below. The audience can not see your
supporting foot because it is hidden by three things: your pants, the
angle of the trick and your closest shoe (which hides their view of
the foot being used to "levitate" you.) You might only rise 3 or 5
inches off of the ground, but it's all in the presentation! You will want
to slowly rise off of the ground . . . wait a few seconds and then
drop fast. Stay up too long and they will probably figure it out.

Different Views

Showing an exposed view and two
audience views before and during the
levitation.
Performance Animation
This is what it should look like if done right.
Good luck and enjoy the illusion!
Zero Gravity
A different levitation!

David Blaine

David Blaine is not the originator of this illusion. He has made the
illusion popular, once again, with his recent television special,
"David Blaine: Street Magic." But, we never really get to see Blaine
performing the Balducci Levitation. We watch several times as
Blaine performs it for others, but we never get to see the Balducci
Levitation for ourselves.
For the television special, Blaine performed the Balducci levitation
in front of several hundred different groups of people, and the
camera was angled only to catch their reactions. The method he
used for this is the Balducci method, described above. While taping
all the hundreds of performances, the producers keyed in on the
audience members with the most visual reaction. After the Balducci
levitation, the producers of the show had these same people stand
by for another taping of the illusion, this time the camera would
shoot from behind the audience members to get a clear view of
Blaine in action.
The audience members were told that this second performance was
to show them how magicians could use wires to levitate. And this is
exactly what happened. A small harness and rig (just out of camera
view) was set up and Blaine performed a standard wire-suspension.
What Blaine did was a camera trick - known as a post-production
edit. The audience at home watched the second (wire suspension)
levitation performance, with the audience reaction of the Balducci
levitation edited in.

Surf Internet free with Airtel Live – Download Mozilla Teashark for mobiles

Recently there has been a reported glitch with Airtel Live and you can browse the web for free with this java browser Teashark Mozilla. It has been used to solve problems as diverse as where to place self-service coin counting machines, how to improve the yield of crops in a traditional Tuscan vineyard, or how to manage an entire city enterprise.

#GIS can integrate and relate any data with a spatial component, regardless of the source of the data. For example, you can combine the location of mobile workers, located in real-time by GPS devices, in relation to customers' homes, located by address and derived from your customer database. GIS maps this data, giving dispatchers a visual tool to plan the best routes for mobile staff or send the closest worker to a customer. This saves tremendous time and money

Unsecured Financing Experts - EZUnsecured.com

Most of the small businesses drop down as they face cash flow challenges. But why cant we? Is the government to be blamed or are the Indian Olympic Association lacking the patriotism which we people have? Or are WE to be blamed?

It may be really easy for the people to blame the government, but at the root, no one is willing to encourage their kids taking up sports as a profession. The fear is that only one out of ten sportsmen from India shine, and as a result the parents are afraid of the insecurity of kid’s future or no one is as rich as Bindra’s to grant freedom to their wards. Wherein China handpicks their sports representatives and they are promised with a basic income and shelter even though his sporting talents proves to be futile for the government. So why is there a fear of failure among the sportsmen? As we have heard enough, the lack of amenities or funds or even the travelling fare, take a toll among them. The British government in the race of rising as a sporting power, had announced that a percent of money from the government’s lottery was to be provided as funds to their sportsmen and it is believed that about 250 million was given as funds and scholarships! Nevertheless, Indian government had in any way contributed significant amount of money or even time towards sports, which is a lagging business.

When the bronze winning Indian brawler and pugilist came back home, the people of IOA where nowhere present. But when it came to the felicitation and honors, it was evident that the man of IOA took the center stage. Is he trying to drive home that the member s of association are larger than the sportsmen itself? Whenever the sportsmen bring back miracles such as these, they take over the limelight and make the association feel small. This may be the reason why they have kept the sports at such a depleted sorry state. I don’t understand why we are hosting a 600crore Commonwealth Games when we don’t even have a basic track for the athletes to practice on. Are they trying to show off how they can turn out big bucks? This money may even end up to the people related with the association! These games can’t churn out miraculous players or will not even benefit them in any way!

Last but not the least, we Indians are not genetically strong enough or athletic enough, of course this doesn’t seem to be a valid reason for our poor shows at the games, but the reasons stated above need to be answered, before 2012 London.

- AGVS

Tips on Saving Energy - The Power Drive

Almost half the cost of power in household can be avoided by using the using energy friendly products and conservation methods.
