Both Bob and Brenda (Karns) Bagley are former missionary kids and as teens accepted the call to serve Christ in full-time ministry. Following four and a half years in the pastorate, they served as Global Partners’ missionaries to Southern Africa from 1982 through 2004. While in Africa, Bob served as principal for the Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College (EWBC) in Swaziland, Southern Africa mission director for Global Partners, director of ministerial training for the Southern African region of The Wesleyan Church, and director of Wesleyan African Advanced Leadership Training. Brenda taught at EWBC and Wesleyan Evangelical Seminary, mentored African women leaders, and established Compassionate Ministries South Africa.

Bob and Brenda are both graduates of Southern Wesleyan University. In addition, Bob received an M.A. in missiology from Columbia Biblical Seminary and a Ph.D. in educational studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School while Brenda received an M.A. in missions and intercultural studies from Wheaton College Graduate School.

Kem is a recovering corporate spin doctor who used to think church was for out-of-touch people who just needed to “get a life.” Now? She believes the local church is the hope of the world — it just needs some help. As Communications Director at Granger Community Church, Kem’s job is to help find ways to eliminate information obesity and simplify complexity. That may include weighing in on a series package, a web interface or back office systems. It all counts, because—at the end of the day—everything communicates.

Her book, Less Clutter. Less Noise. (now in its fifth printing) provides simple insights for the not-so-simple art of communication to help churches, businesses and not-for-profits find ways to get the word out and, simply, do better. You can find her blogging at KemMeyer.com.

Chad serves as the Lead Pastor of Compass Church in Byron Center, Michigan. Chad and a small group of his friends planted Compass Church in 2006 with a vision of seeing the entire region permeated with the love and message of Jesus Christ. Chad received his theological education from Indiana Wesleyan University. As exciting as ministry has been, Chad’s primary passion is his wife Julie and their three children, Chase, Miles, and Jackson. Chad recently stated, “I want to be a part of leading Compass Church into the future and helping other churches as well. But that’s not where my leadership starts. My spiritual leadership begins in my home, with my wife and children. After God they come first.” Chad enjoys golf, a cup of coffee with friends, stand up comedy (in 2008 Chad was named one of the 10 Funniest People in Grand Rapids), following University of Michigan athletics, and reading anything pertaining to leadership and the local church.
