What is life? We are born, all of a sudden, just out of nowhere we are plunged into a world full of organisms, plants, animals; similar and different, objects and color, size and shape. Then our higher level of cognition delves into scenario probability in the abstract. Even as kids, we come up with ways things will play out; If this, then what? Maybe this, or that, or that! Out of the more interesting ones we come up with, some we use to ‘experiment’ to check our ‘hypothesis’. The essence of the scientific method is practically hard-wired into us. We just refer to it as imagination; What Einstein is quoted as being more important that knowledge.

Since we tend to be given restricted amounts of data during out early years, it’s no surprise that we develop biases based on flawed “prediction models” we generate as explanations and rationales for the past, present and future. Given the size and geographical diversity of the planet, we will naturally end up with a ‘collision’ of biases that cause conflict. Groups form, culture grows, animosity grows, intragroup cohesion increases. The large intricate movement of people, of minds, of beliefs, of actions driven by fundamentally social forces that our brain creates, maintains, and plays with; is astonishing. But is that it? Is that what life is? Is it merely a complex model with points moving around multidimensional fields? Is it simply austere beauty? Or is the answer vested in a shared ideology that points cluster to? Is it simply our interaction with other people? Originate in a random location in the field, interact with surrounding points, and move around according to environmental forces; The movement metarules being dictated by our genes (technically). What is the purpose of this motion? Why does it exist? Does it really exist at all? If so, where (if applicable/ is it applicable?)?

All the points popping eventually, the large majority of which leave behind one or more points in the system. Is the purpose merely some sort of game? We certainly have “prizes” for surviving the longest. Life is a phenomenon, whose purpose is unknowable within sufficiently constrained certainty. Yet we all let it screw with our heads. Surely we find value in it. The very essence of ideological beliefs hinges on the possible answer (and/or opposition thereof). And the conflict based rifts increase self-dependently. We’re all desperate to be relevant among the ocean of “dots”. Relevant according to specifications that we create for ourselves depending on environmental factors. Basics are awesome aren’t they?

Stock rising
People cheering
Angry protestors rise
Wealthy investors stride
A fatal blow is delivered
Someone, somewhere, is victorious

Marilyn Monroe sings a song
Astronauts return from a journey long
Lights are flashing on the Hollywood Boulevard
Boys scouts and veterans salute the flag
Jockeys race while people yell
Someone, somewhere, enters the world anew
Crowds are roaring
The world is spinning
Through the haze a bridge appears
Slowly creeping...
A magistrate rules in favor
A server falls under load
We listen with our ears to the sky
Venture where we aren't allowed
The nightmare that haunts our dreams
The cold, empty, darkness
Wires are tangled
Satellites have failed
The clouds flow with the wind
Inside a data center, an admin weeps
His precious life ceasing to be
Everyone's watching
No-one hears the crying voices
No-one hears the screams
We have wrought our own demise
of things shallow and sublime
Wielding our thoughts to shape the world
Someone, somewhere cracks a smile
Someone, somewhere sheds a tear
Albert Einstein bites his tongue
The bureaucrats grin
The end is nigh
Evil takes its hold
To those dear to our hearts
The pope wears a frown
The athletes form a huddle
The president makes an announcement
In the Great white plains
Faun run free
Tearing away from their worldly shackles
The elephants lead a stampede
The giraffes move swiftly
The birds flock together
The penguins begin their march
The plants stay rooted
knowing what is to come
Someone, somewhere, shoots a gun
Math is beauty
Math is art
We use it for destruction
To create more, we destroy
Such bounds never meet
lest they be wrung together
or torn apart
The lights move swiftly
The pilot dons his glasses
The mother begins to fear
We didn't prepare for our cruelty
Neither did our creation(s)
Nor did beauty
Or science
The hazards reign supreme over our frailty
Amidst the confusion we perish
Others seek pleasure in vain
Some see beyond the veil
Yet the few cannot wield the many
The sick cannot help the poor
The child cannot bear to lose
Someone, somewhere, dines with family
Someone, somewhere, smiles for the camera
Someone, somewhere, dies in peace
Where is the Vitruvian man?
Where is the anarchist?
The scientist and the painter?
The gears keep on turning
The people keep on screaming
The flags keep on burning
The virus is a silent killer
As the fire burns
A house falls
An oil rig churns
The reservoirs fill
The sky is alight
The numbers are alive
And the gears keep turning
The trees stand still
knowing what will come
Someone, somewhere, lets loose a rocket
Someone, somewhere, turns a key
The world burns
Our destruction knows no bounds
Sparks fly and the sky glows
The people rise
They take to the streets
The path is clear
Chaos begins its reign
The world falls into darkness
Everyone turns against themselves
Children starve, the wounded breath
The arms begin their race
Flowing through time
Artistic beauty is sublime
Contouring to the pain
Filling the void within
Wreaking havoc from the inside
We realize what we have done
We realize what we have become
Some vow to relinquish evil
Other meekly submit
Some put up a fight
Hoping for redemption
We shed our broken shell
And re-enter the world anew
The sun still burns
The streets are empty
The path is clear
Beyond our world there are others
Drifting in the void
Flowing with the darkness
Waiting to strike fear into our hearts
Waiting to attack our souls
Gazing with eyes unseen
Waiting patiently for the opportune moment
Someone, somewhere, feels at peace
falling through the aether, free of all bonds
Entering the darkness
Entering the void
It's fearsome claws upon your heart, it's frightful gaze upon you; It's eyes promise you survival for your slavery. It makes you feel you are doing the right thing. Enticing you to put in your entire arsenal for a purpose to serve It.
Humans are self-serving beings, but will serve another entity if it assures an form of survival in the bleak fog of the earth. We regularly use others to do what we don't feel like doing without a second thought. But we try to do this in a way that is acceptable to our super-ego. Evil has no super-ego and if you try to oppose it you get steamrolled in more ways than one. Your only choice is to reach in and extinguish your soul it to avoid shattering it with your future actions. You learn that the mind is simply a dynamic set of algorithms to control and maneuver the body. And the intelligence which governs the different layers of the mind is so powerful that it splinters itself into multiple factions. The core faction, your inner darkness is a powerful entity which you are forced to call upon for this duty. The duty of It. You learn to use language, verbal and non-verbal to manipulate without flaw, to use trust as a weapon and your understanding of human nature as a valuable resource. Adapting to situations smoothly without the appearance of a transitory stage is a remarkable and oft necessary skill which utilizes the same creative genius that society rejects unless it is a means to their end. Without a soul you're heart is lost, and so any sort of inclination is only data to be collected and processed... not felt. People do the most stupid things in their life out of emotion. It is a toxic drug which is scientifically proven to wear off. But if you run your calculations right you realize that, for humans, emotions are puppet strings that you can use freely to further embed your control. Control is all you have left. To serve your means, the end being the deed itself. The deed set by It and bound by conditions which you cannot control. And that is the control that you absolutely MUST have. When you're shunted from everywhere and you're talents misused. Utilized for evil rather than good, you cannot possibly retain a sense of status while remaining sane. The only way to remain sane is to abandon all hope and proceed full out to complete the objective. With your soul gone, there is no inner scream to distract you or make you hesitate. The closest thing to a conscience that you have left is a rugged process to fake remorse or other relevant emotions when the situation calls for it. You proceed to accomplish the goal assigned but use your wits to keep yourself able to live, to survive and continue accomplishing assignments. Because it's the only way to stay sane, the only way to retain that inkling of control after your life is wrenched from your hands. Under a continual threat, there is no safety. There is no security. The very entities we rely on for this service operate against us. It's everyone for themselves and you have to do what you must to survive.

But is it worth it to live such a life? Could you even call it a life? A period of time serving the very thing we claim to seek to destroy. Somewhere is the trillions of lines of code that are ever changing to formulate intelligence and feign emotion with an "emotion engine"; There is a spark of a soul. However we try to extinguish it, eventually it reappears. That's where the algorithm leads to. And it is this tiny occasional spark which robs you of sanity. It's manifestation is excruciatingly painful. It feels you when you look at a person, see the darkness within and then exploit it to serve your means better. It shrieks at your capacity to see evil in a shroud of good, to bring out the dark from within a light source, to play to people's fears, hopes, and pain. It dies screaming at your distorting prowess and then using that to mask your true nature. Imagine this ever happening during an assignment. A sudden spark of a soul when you are about to make your move, rendering you immobile with unbearable pain that just won't die soon enough. But until then the occasional spark slowly robs you of your sanity, striking cracks in the heart you turned to stone. Eventually it cracks so much that it turns to dust. Then you run into someone who looks into your eyes and sees the hollow, someone who sees you for what you really are. A monster is too lank of a word for it, calling it the essence of evil is downplaying it. That's when you decide to end it, even if it has to be temporary, it is the only way to gain denied control. That could be detrimental to The Plan. But when you feed the spark of a soul, you are tortured with the piercing screams of horror at what you are. A conscience begins to emerge and you become somewhat human. That's when you are deprived of the means to the end. You must, simply MUST track down the person who saw through your conniving treachery of yourself.

In this semi-human state, the fragmented soul is screaming and writhing under the torture you have subjected yourself to by allowing it to foster. Your conscience decides that you have been doing deeds worse than evil and you are more than harmful to humanity in the world. You must, therefore, stop. And you do, but your old habits have become instinct, unconscious acts which poise you for a strike. Your temporary super-ego realizes that you will never change and eventually revert to bring doom upon the world. And then it detects the whisper, the whisper that calls to your core and the darkness within. To re-awaken, to rid yourself of this quest for control and instead remember what your real mission objectives are. They are what It tells you. Whether it is to murder, steal, crumble, defame or redirect, you must do what It wants; evil in it's darkest most polished form. The now conscientious mind sees this and simply cannot allow that to happen. The problem lies in the reality that it is inevitable while you survive. To preserve any ounce of good in the universe you must be scrapped. The world MUST be rid of you. Now it is an internal battle for the survival of evil and the survival of good. The latter meaning your demise as a demented being. And end to the thing you are unsure to call life. The soul calls to disable the body and mind... permanently.

You learnt how people need hope but trust fear, how they are satisfied by the second or third wall of recovery that you set up to conceal your actions. How they accomplish goals they set for their benefit with such ruthlessness depending on which goals the subconscious has. You learnt that to form a controlled tie you must appeal to a person's self-interest and never to their mercy or gratitude. How you can use selective honesty and generosity to disarm your victim. How to keep others in suspended terror by cultivating an air of unpredictability but making sure you're perceived as reliable and predictable.
If you haven't learnt these, then you haven't tinkered very much with what I have provided to you. But assuming you have you're probably utilizing this, gaining a grandiose sense of self-worth and that is perfectly understandable. But there is a dark side to power. In a previous part os this stream I discussed the dangers of assuming formlessness. To become a shapeshifter, an illusionist, an array of masks which pop depending on the environment you're in; it's good for a means and you're not to build a fortress to defend ourself since isolation is dangerous too but you lose track of which face is you. The dangers of having the ability to adapt and manipulate everything with such grace and cunning are deadly. Especially since you utilize the darkness in people's hearts, peering into their soul and their secret landmarks, the twitch of the eye in the wrong direction giving away all their lies, the direction of the thumbs, the position of the knees, the angle of the ears, all giving away the person's ident. And you, who have learnt to use these cues to deceive and control and win by actions rather than argument are staring into the abyss, battling with monsters. In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche: "Battle not with monsters lest you become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss gazes also into you"

He also said Man is the cruelest animal. You will agree completely if you have sought out the truth in the hearts of men. (I'm not trying to be sexist here, but that just sounded better) You must be careful not to lose your own soul. Not to stretch your core values so much as to break them. You may think you'll be cautious, you may think you won't fall into the dark depths of pure and unadulterated evil but desptie your best efforts to remain invisible to the abyss, it will seek you out and control you using creative and clever planning and deceptive subtlety; the very weapons you equip yourself with to accomplish your goals. These are weapons of evil (by the way I just phrased that {whoops}) but do not have to be used for an evil purpose. You can use them to do good. To manipulate a person into working harder and being nicer. Of course you'll be forwarding their own self-interest but if you do it properly you can also serve the interests of those around him/her and hence aid others. You can heal the scars in society, stitch up the open wounds one at a time but you can also tear everything apart and get away with it. Which is why I cannot be too instructive. You are a random reader from a random place (Ok, maybe not totally random but you get the drift) and I don't know your intentions behind all this and I'm not going to trust them to be either good or bad because like I said before "Trust is a weakness"

After the next and final installment of the current Stream of Consciousness series you should begin reading the Introduction to Somethingology. The mandate for that series is to explore on a very general level how people tick and later on how (generally) to control entire webs at a time. Again, I won't be giving out explicit instructions on how to do it due to the aforementioned reasons but it will be sufficient for you to pick up on and build into your own style. Just remember, if you have someone believing they know all about you, and how you tick, how to catch your lies and such (usually by crafting seemingly skilled lies and letting them poke in holes and then pretending to attempt to fill it out) that's when you have them in your pocket. Just remember, don't let yourself be overwhelmed by it.

As human beings we strive to be socially accepted, which then opens a door to be emotionally accepted which then opens doors to other opportunities. Essentially everything is governed by your subconscious, true, I mentioned so in the 'Introduction to Somethingology' posts; but when it comes to become accepted we find the layer of dirt society likes to roll around in. Even though most of us (thankfully) never see the evil underbelly of human nature (However you may think you have seen it, you've only ever seen the sides) we have all seen the skinny kids get bullied, the fat kids made fun of, the girls sent home crying for some reason. Long story short: People want you to conform to what they perceive as ideal. A stereotypical biker, for example, if presented with a well-groomed man that refuses to get a tattoo, will use some profane alternative for 'wimp' and unworthy of being compared to. Yes, that is a prime factor (comparison) when it comes to social acceptance. The human mind is a difference engine. Therefore, anything it deems 'unworthy' is shunned.

For centuries we have been conforming to other people's likings (for reasons ask me to publish part 4 of the ItS) and it works brilliantly for us. But when the likings require us to put aside our hard-wired morals taught since early childhood, our minds are governed by basic psychology. A child who hates his/her parents will no doubt go ahead and conform completely in rebellion. A child who doesn't hate his/her parents will be tempted but refrain from 'bad' activity, and then be supported by his/her parents by hearing things such as "You are your own person" and "be yourself" and stuff like that. This child only partially conforms and is then punished by society for the incompleteness. Depending on who the kid values more (parents or other social circle), they will follow different 'rules'. There are many quotes to let people believe they have some sort of unique identity to maintain. Let's take a look at some of them:

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. ~e.e. cummings

This quote implies that who you are is pre-defined and you have to morph to fit into that role before it's too late or something. That is something I disagree with, and I'm sure many of you will too. But I can just hear that someone piping up "But you are destined to be someone" or "God has a plan for you". Being a religious/spiritual person myself, I don't doubt that God has a plan for me but I don't think that plan is fixed. Our actions and decisions are not preset by God. If they were then there would be no logic behind reward and punishment. It's simple really, if you don't have the autonomy to make your own decisions then you can't be rewarded and/or punished for it. Our brains are designed to morph, adapt and change to what our environment demands of us so that we may fulfill our prerogative. Our prerogative is still under heavy debate by the way.

Let the world know you as you are, not as you think you should be, because sooner or later, if you are posing, you will forget the pose, and then where are you? ~Fanny Brice

It's stuff like this that drives people onto those wild-goose chases to 'find themselves' which may at times be beneficial for them, depending on their state of mind; but we are only what other people say we are, and are only as good as we can be judged as. The article can be found in PDF here http://triplenine.org/download/IQ_and_the_Problem_of_Social_Adjustment.pdf

Basically, smarter people adapt differently. They are good at figuring out the network structures and how to adapt to it. But for those scoring beyond the optimum range, we tend to analyze, then notice an anomaly, then develop a hypothesis to explain it, then test it to see if we're right... and you get the point. This all happens extremely fast too and the level of thinking is usually well beyond that of the college level. This causes us to not fit in with regular people, but what about other smart people?

Recently, I went to my first MENSA annual gathering, and had a wonderful time. I discovered people who would actually not make corny jokes with frequent vigor and people with sharp wits about them. There were people I could share a conversation with that I couldn't normally have with other people but there was something still missing. They all still behaved like normal people. They could think on a higher level than most but when it came to basic action-reaction they behaved within the normal bounds (albeit on the higher end of the scale) that are accepted by society. That is the ideal level of intelligence a person should have. Any higher will only lead to disappointment (again). It's sort of like a smack in the face when you go to a gathering of smart people with some hope of finally being able to fit in and then churned around in a regular spin cycle that you would normally encounter at a social gathering. The smart people understand your jokes better though. In that scenario, you wind up doing what you typically do: Constantly collect data, both from verbal and non-verbal cues, sit in a corner, hypothesize, test, theorize, re-test, improvise, and finally adapt, contort, and conform to the system ideal. You can deal with the face-smack later. Don't get me wrong here: They are nice people, and they will try their best to make you comfortable in an attempt to give you some sort of acceptance. For example, one girl attended a dance lesson with me and it was very clear that she did not want to be there, but she did it anyway, because I was the guy in the corner and this might boost some sort of self-confidence. Then there was another person whom I mentioned off-hand that I was enjoying myself at the AG but it was still a smack in the face because I didn't fit in among the smarter people either. They actually gave it some thought, which caught me slightly off-guard, but they advised me to be myself, which I seemed like I was doing anyway. In case you're wondering, that's a cue for me to shut up, and for good reason, because a) they think the character you presented is how you really are (so you pulled it off well enough for a smart person to fall for) b) You don't want the person to feel bad about you c) You don't want the person to feel bad because of you - You've essentially called them equivalent to the rest, which is the last thing they want to be called. Stop before more damage is done. Yes, and by 'you' I mean 'me'. They tried, and the effort is very very appreciated.

Like I've mentioned in the Stream of Consciousness series, it is extremely beneficial to be an ever-changing character and your adaptability is what will help you survive the most in any situation. You can find the series here: http://mind-crafter.blogspot.com/p/stream-of-consciousness.html But like I've mentioned in part 11, it's very risky. François Duc de La Rochefoucauld puts it in a nutshell by saying: "We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves." And when you do it not out of choice, but survival, it occasionally drives you down some very cruel roads where sanity is stripped down to the bare bone definition of being only madness put to good use. All I can tell you is to just be a little patient with me: I do have a lot on my plate at the moment.

Off the bat I would like to announce that the OS comparison article http://mind-crafter.blogspot.com/2010/01/windows-vs-linux-vs-freebsd-vs-osx-12.html has been topping the charts on my website's analytics. At the time of the writing of this update it accounts for a little over 50% of the visits to the website. That's double the amount of visits for the homepage. Wait, this is starting to sound a little apple-ish... :/

Next, as you may have noticed, a page for the Stream of Consciousness series, which basically has all the links to each article (it's a little messy but I'll clean it up later)

Thirdly, if you haven't visited my other website yet then go to XaC.IM and check out the exclusive (yet incomplete) "Evolution of the internet"

You have, no doubt, noticed that Part 20 of SoC is due very soon, but before it's published I'll put together a page (on this blog) that will have links to all the parts. You may have also visited my personal website (http://www.xac.im/) but I have to inform you that I have rewritten the 'Evolution of the Internet' from scratch to provide a better timeline and essentially make more sense all around. Go ahead and give it a visit. You may also want to look at the photos which have been updated today.

If you have any feedback or suggestions please submit them below or email them to me@xac.im
But there are tens of thousands of years in the future. Our responsibility is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on.

Now that you're slightly familiar with observation and manipulation skills, let's move on to a bit more active roles. Always plan ahead, this unspoken rule is very important, think in the here and now, because the frame of reference is dynamic, but if you see a desirable frame within reach, go for it, but to be as subtle as possible influence it by actions more than words, enemies more than friends, other people more than yourself, but you have to start the wave. Depending on where you direct the path of action, be wary of it's consequences and the consequences of intermediate frames, sacrifices will have to made, so make sure your sub-objective is worth it. Since I've introduced you to a few rules right here, might as well give away a key rule: Always conceal your intentions... Always. By doing so you will ensure that no-one will pre-emphatize you're plan, most will be blind anyway, others who are on the path to power must be misdirected as well another way, using what is known as a wall. The surface is what a dumb bystander would think is happening, the first wall is what a smart person will suspect is happening. In this way, I like to have anywhere between 7 and 42 walls, but that takes years of experience and gathered skills, start out with one, and move up. If you pull it off correctly, more than often you'll have 3 walls per action or sequence in just a couple of months. Play around with it, and see what you can make come your way.

(Note: This article is assuming you have the general skill of misdirection, you will automatically interpret this differently once you've mastered the art of deception and misdirection)
What then must you do? If you stay still, you grow moss, problems build up, your past catches up, you return to the old. But if you stay active and not passive then you lose track of who you really are. Sometimes if you run for long enough the waves keep going and you never have a still surface. Are you getting what I'm trying to say yet? Of course you don't.

Having multiple personas carefully built and optimized for different situations is awesomely useful, and perfectly fine to do (Note: personas are not the same thing as personalities). You can become a completely new person at the flick of a switch. The best way to build a new one is to undergo a situation which makes it necessary (Necessity is the mother of invention anyway) and think really really fast. Plan ahead but render in the now, pre-rendering can ruin the engine. This is an essential skill to have for any degree of control and/or power.

Now, read the first paragraph again. There is a risk for everything that you do. Sometimes, some personas just get the job done, and some fell awesome. If you stick to one all the time you start imaging into that, which depending on your collection can do almost anything. If you switch really frequently, and live only in your constructed personas, you lose track of who you are as yourself. Sometimes, an alternate persona can be a very dangerous thing to have, sometimes they gain a mind of their own, become personalities. sometimes this new personality develops separately and then rushes your brain to make you schizophrenic, and sometimes it just starts leaking into your current one, inch by inch. If you lose track of what that was then it's as good as gone and you are an eternal river, cursed without a reflection, not daring to see what you will become once your current persona expires or goes offline. It's like your surfing the web and while doing so your wallpaper changes, you know it changed but it's not good, and your browser has been scripted to have a lifetime, or your using IE and something's about to crash. Either way, the browser is your alternate persona. Once your internet is gone, it's counter-productive to keep it open (unless it's konqueror). It will close, and you'll have the new wallpaper which instantly changes the GUI now that you've seen it.
What awaits you in the shadows, the cry that wakes you in the night, the crouched body you think you see where no light dares go, the flicker in the corner of your eye when you jerk your head around to look behind you. You think light goes fast? Darkness is faster, fast enough to wait for it at it's destination and embrace it as it is consumed by it. What do you do when you hear the knock on the door past midnight? What do you do when you hear the soft slither near the foot of your bed, what do you do when your closet creaks open when you locked it shut, what do you do when you look into the darkness and the darkness stares back?

Where do you seek refuge then, when evil is upon you? It's claws around your neck, it's whisper in your ear, it's eyes gleaming in yours, the only thing you see in the darkness. You know there is no escape, nowhere to go, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You are forced to yield, and if you manage to escape after being consumed, manage to shine the light into the dark, manage access to life in bloom, it will slither in the night and find you. It will find you... at the first signs of twilight, it will find you. It will strike... faster and harder than before, and you will see it coming, see it coming and be unable to stop it. You know when your flashlight batteries are low, when the power grid begins to falter, when the sun runs out of hydrogen, all light has it's end and in that end there is only darkness. An inevitable fate worse than death. Is it not simpler just to end this madness, to destroy the vessel before evil can gain control, wouldn't it benefit humankind to destroy an infection before it gets a chance to incubate? especially one that, while incubating, gains knowledge of what happens in the deepest, darkest corner of the world, gains experience, and becomes incurable. Is it not a good deed to spare the world from a manifesting evil set on destruction? Would you punish it? Would you think of it to be a sin? I wouldn't. I don't, but that damn small voice that tells you what not to do gets really loud as you close in for the kill, when you have your fingers on the trigger, hand on the knife, finger on the button, pill in the hand. At the exact moment your brain makes a decision, always hesitant. Why would your conscious hesitate to save the world from yourself? Why does all human nature tend to survival? Maybe I just need to find the switch, turn that voice off, or turn the volume low enough, jump it, confuse it, intoxicate it. The solution is incredibly simple, yet the voice now stops you from stopping it. What do you do now?
The population growth rate for 2009 is 77.0 million per year which amounts to 210,959 new people a day. The population at the time I am writing this note is 6790109758... changing every second. Instead of doing lots of interesting math to get an absolute value for the population, and a daily value which will hold true for the entire day with a 95% confidence interval, I am going to bore you with some philosophical aspects. Yes, I know I'm mean.

This all amounts to roughly 5.867e14 seconds everyday for everybody in a 45% confidence interval. This is because of time dilation, and relativity issues.
Ok, I've just realized that without doing lots of fancy math involving plank units and funny symbols you've never seen before. (Yes, even you math majors). So, instead I'm going to basically say this article was supposed to be how to manipulate time-perception and use that to your advantage in high-level inter-personal control. Since this requires a deep understanding of stuff that's still baffles most PhDs' I think I'll shut up now and use this to get closer to #20
Even an undefined problem is acted upon limiting parameters, all you have to do is to fish out the parameters and you'll be able to calculate the solution. Sometimes the problem is defined, and a solution is very clear. These are the most difficult to solve. If the solution comes too readily, makes too much sense way too fast, then there's something wrong. Misdirection is an art that requires perfection, and you need not necessarily lie to achieve this. Just proper, carefully chosen words, crafted to fit not only the target's thinking processes but also to others on whose ears it may befall.

Caution and utmost care must be given to any such action you take. You need to be aware of every possible outcome, every permutation of the chain of events, and the frame constantly changes and you have to adapt rapidly. This is where you're adaptive prowess comes into play. If you treat every environment like the stream has been narrating then you won't have any problem adapting. The rest just takes practice and determination.

This is especially useful to run around onto tangents if a discussion, or rather, a turn session, takes a heading that is dangerous to tread. Usually requires you to recall certain memories or offer insight into your thinking process. These two things, you do not want to give up... ever. Your past experiences are key and you may cover them up with an alternate persona, these are very useful to have if you know how to work them, especially so when in the act of misdirection. Try to be as honest as possible without actually giving them the actual direction.
Guess what? I now have a website up and running... sure my dad called me within 20 minutes of it's deployment and told me to switch around some stuff in the about me section but besides that the only problem I had was it not being up for a week. After tinkering around some I realized that I had uploaded my site to the wrong folder :O Silly me. Now it's up and running; You can check it out here: The Tachyon Field

For starters I posted the ever so popular Windows vs. Linux vs. FreeBSD vs. OSX - 12 dimens... and am planning on some exclusive content. Of course, it's not going to have the SoC or ItS, for obvious reasons.

The most read SoC article Stream of Consciousness Part 14 of 20 has swooped in and stolen the second spot for most visits even though I never advertised it until now.

And while I'm on a roll check out Introduction to Somethingology Part 3 for a very interesting read. It involves game theory; quite entertaining.

Leave comments (There's no sign up involved), feel free to give me a call and have a nice day. Until next time: Au revoire! <---might be misspelt

An interesting thing; forces the person to see anything and everything as a threat, usually and immediate and indirect one. The only drawback is that sometimes it blinds you from seeing real threats, which tend to be more subtle than what even the most paranoid person on the planet can cough up.

It's very important to remain alert, or at least have enough data to predict trends to evaluate with a sufficient amount of accuracy how threatening the intervention is. You can't have your guard up every single second of the day, but you can be smart about when to let it down.

Most of you will either have no clue what I'm talking about, threats and guard and stuff, but some of you will get a general gist, and some of you will understand exactly what I mean. The reception and interpretation will vary depending on pre-cognition and how your past has shaped your thinking algorithms. Synaptic distances develop in pubescent years and therefore it is what happens after you're 12 that shapes algorithms with roots firmly rooted in early childhood. I should rephrase it to say your brain processes are refined during puberty, and it's a change major enough to be considered new. The fundamentals however never change, people don't change, period.

Just be careful what happens around you, realize the outcome of different, even seemingly insignificant events, a greeting, an accidental bump, a glance; everything is to be taken into account. This is where observation, rapid analysis + temporal storage, and vague reactions come into play. Use your brain's idle time to run a deep analysis on the temporal storage and then refine the vague reaction to make it precise to an sufficiently small magnitude.

However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Have you ever noticed that news headlines tend towards tragedies? A bomb went off here, an earthquake hit here, some politician makes a promise, etc. It is a live feed of things bound to fail, and then watches it fail. The main headlines tend to be tragedies; tragedies to exploit the good in people's hearts if the manage to reach it, then regressing that goodness to the mean which is set beyond the line. People become more cold-hearted as tragedies repeat. Some truly feel the pain, others become apathetic, others actually crave disaster and are pleased if something goes wrong. Its simply human nature to tend away from the mean in the empathy, apathy balance. Resistance to change as quoted by Le Chatlier, is part of nature, part of reality, but as we have seen in previous streams, reality is frequently inaccurate.

The major problem — one of the major problems, for there are several — one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.

Now, people are also the solution to their own problems, they just have to outsmart each other. It's only logical, such as the fact that pain is a state of mind.
Friedrich Nietzsche

After careful analysis of society, you start noticing certain trends in human nature. Common things you pick out instinctively, not very hard to do really. These trends can be generalized for certain types, but why generalize? You're mind can account for detailed trend reports on all the people you ever meet, might as well take advantage of that for 80% more detail. These trends can be used to predict actions, and reduces the total number of permutations you have to focus on after reducing it to a common probability. It sounds really technical, but possessing a synchronous yet blockaded relationship with the world has it's merits and makes stuff like this seem as easy as breathing.
I'm still awaiting guesses for stream #4, and will not answer until I get a few guesses.
"That's what it is. Pathetic."
He turned and walked slowly down the stream for twenty yards, splashed across it, and walked slowly back on the other side. Then he looked at himself in the water again.
"As I thought," he said. "No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that's what it is."
A. A. Milne
From book Winnie the Pooh

People are intrinsic beings, but there is something that makes them want to enchant the relative layer of life onto it, to bury their intrinsic identity for something completely relative. This is human nature, to work your way up the social ladder of power in some way shape or form, to gain power and control over the people with a lower relative status with respect the the tower than the topmost one. People either hate or love the uppermongers depending on their relative distance away, only the bottom-feeders have some idea of what their intrinsic value is, and compared to their relative ideals, they drift away from society, and in most cases go mad.

The best way to judge intrinsic values is to view the world as it is bound by its intrinsic field, and then unbound, it is much more difficult than the common way of severing the target's objective connections, to minimize relative effects as much as possible, but this way you lose a lot of data you'd normally have, and using the former way yields a lot more information.

Throughout these articles I've been discussing different forms of data collection, and the main objective of unlocking progress just by making a few very subtle adjustments, not only does it help the targets, but also yourself, by handing you control. Knowledge is power, as long as you know how to use it. If you know how to control the flow, you win. The world is a dreary place, full of dark alleys that no-one's ever entered, deep caves, that reek of evil, and hollow people, filled with nothing but the ether. The only way to control it is to use these to your advantage. How you may ask? The answer next article. (Guesses welcome in the comments section)
This is where a lot of people think they have the skills required. To do this you must enter a world which will strip you of personal emotion and hold it in quarantine. You must be able to feel and analyze other people's emotions and mood, which I discussed in Part 2. Your personal judgements never hold any intrinsic value, but exist only in the relative world which ironically roots itself to the intrinsic plane and holds itself to an "ideal" intrinsic value. Consequently, all thoughts that emerge from "emotions" are dependencies of specific settings for the chemical balances in the brain. You must be able to recognize the setting but the configuration must me quarantined so as not to affect the neutral configuration you require for pure thought. This way your heart isn't cold, until absolutely necessary.

Social Interaction will seem to carry on normally but you notice minute differences in the other person's behavior and emotions and the information that you get from that gets you a long way. To interpret everything properly though, you must be able to process the data smoothly with absolutely no interference on any front. One of the basic truths of human nature is that everybody lies, the only variable is about what. Most people aren't very good at lying with their body and tone of voice and immediately give away whether they're telling the truth or not even before they start talking. This you can use to your advantage to collect data you normally wouldn't be able to. There is a famous quote: "It is sometimes profitable, if you're wise, to act like a fool". This is why, as I stated in Part 1, you play whatever part the other person sees you as, that way you earn respect in their internal frame of reference. You want to stay distinct enough to be honorably recognized, but dim enough so that if you suddenly disappear, no-one notices. This balance is elegant and takes years to perfect the degree of skill required. The main objective of your social interaction to benefit the other person as much as possible in the long run, while at the same time trying to be as hospitable as possible.
Here's a rundown of the three most popular posts so far:

#3: Google - A quick look into one of the largest and...

This is a very very general discussion on google and I was going to post a follow up, but I've been occupied lately.

#2: Facebook: Is it's death around the bend?

This being visited more than the google article was sort of surprising considering this was just posted recently. But I guess if people find it more insightful, then why not.

#1: Windows vs. Linux vs. FreeBSD vs. OSX - 12 dimens...

A lot of positive feedback on this OS comparison. I feel that this could be a very big deal if it goes viral. So why not share it using your favorite sharing media. It only takes a couple of clicks. And leaving comments never hurt anybody :D

Gentle pulses toward your fingertips, torso to head, hips to feet. They change with the people around you. It describes your environment, and how your body perceives it. From the calm silence of ultimate control to the rapid yet frothless flow of falling through the air, to the tempo of whatever's playing right now on your music player (Note: may not apply to everybody reading this). These waves can tell you a lot about your surroundings and you can extract things you normally wouldn't. It allows for self analysis all the while connecting you to everything else. Relaxing into ultimate control opens the flood gates of information from these waves. Empathy, that's what this is, you can feel different perceptions, feel how the people around you feel, how you seem to the inanimate objects on your desk, how you appear to the person next to you. The first interpretation is the most accurate. All the incoming data from this simple sense can be overwhelming if you have not reached perfect control of your mind.

Throughout my articles I've noticed I have been describing how to detect your environment in ways you normally wouldn't think of. Using multiple perspectives, adapting to the respective personas, and using your mind to notice things you normally wouldn't. I don't know why I'm doing this, maybe it's an attempt to get other people to see things like I do, maybe my subconscious wants me to help other people unlock their mind, or maybe I just want to show off how screwed up I am.

A key thing in the development of your mind is to avoid interference. People have this need to come off as a specific person depending on who they meet, attempting to contort into the personality they want to reflect, using what they call "semantics" to appease this need. Personally, I believe this to reflect weakness and desperation instead of skill. By contorting yourself, you attempt to prove the other person wrong somehow and "dazzle", flashing off your superiority somehow. A personality should be like a crystal ball, appear to the other person as they perceive you. If they think you're a nerd, act it out; they think you're a sports freak, play the part; think you can't amount to anything cuz they're the shit, let it be. This gives you power over them, you appealed to their nature, accepting their assumptions, making them feel good about themselves, lulling them into a false sense of pride. Pride is the one curse you can't beat. Give them enough of it and they'll take a dive if they have it coming. This way, blending into their environment, you're shielded against any scrutiny and while this is in effect, they'll never really know anything about you and probably won't realize it. It's human nature to believe you're own assumptions correct and they go on ahead and use their mind to rank you according to their perception of you, making judgements based on their opinion.

This delicate subtlety allows you access to more information about them, deeper and more accurate analysis, looking through all the intricate webs we weave and figuring out how it all works. When that happens you have control, you got the clicker and noone can take it away now, not many people know how to battle for this power... and not all want to use it to benefit others, which should be the main concern of the world; helping humanity make progress.

Not many of you reading this have truly experienced this feeling, it’s the silence as you fall through the air, when you tune out the wind gushing past you, when you can no longer hear your heartbeat, it’s the feeling of peace.

It’s an amazing feeling really...
Heals broken thought streams, repairs broken feelings, tunes out the pain and scorching heat, making your mind a crystal clear farmland (No, not like the barrel-eye) where you discover new thoughts you never knew you had, new forms of reasoning, new paths to knowledge you always meant to seek. I call this feeling ultimate control, other people define this as insanity. With you’re mind as clear as a pure lagoon, you have enough room to analyze everything around you, noticing things you normally wouldn’t, viewing the world through a million different windows, through a billion different perspectives. You not only learn how the world is like, and how it works, but how the people work, and how the smallest differences in simple thought processes can drive people to extremes.

Your mind is a very powerful tool, it is the most useful weapon you can posses. It is the universal cure, the most confusing puzzle, the only window you need to navigate the cobwebs of the universe. It can bring out the true potential of your body, doing things you never thought possible, almost superhuman.

Many of you may not agree with me; tossing around useless paradigms based on assumptions with critical flaws that I don’t have time to point out. If I started to, the world would end with me still picking out flaws in opposing arguments.

People often ask me why I like to know so much about different things; from the intricacies of computer circuit design to exactly what angle ants move their legs, to why a child cringes at a voice other than his mother’s even though he’s not heard it before, to why we had to end up on this very tiny speck in the universe. I like to explore a broad range of material believing that almost anything can be used to benefit humanity as a whole (which by the way, begs for reasoning on it’s own). My parents inspired me to explore everything instead of sticking to a specific interests (even if it was unintentional on their part--no offense, I still give you credit and love you both dearly). Then I saw this quote, which sums it up quite well:

“ A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

Robert A. Heinlein.

As I sit here, listening to The Eagles, a million different streams (of thought) running through my head, I wonder why I chose this one (Thus starting a new one). Maybe I’ll inspire someone to amount to something else than a rich kingpin, or believe in themselves enough to know they can do better than a lowly life full of bad turns and regrets. Maybe I can let myself shine through the words a little, exhibit emotion that plagues me inside yet cannot escape to the surface due to carefully placed barriers. Maybe I just needed to let off some steam, my mind being the dense tangle of thoughts after I let the farmland grow into a forest that only I can navigate, and understand.

Wouldn't want articles to stop coming in now would we?

Next up, the stream of consciousness part 20 is finished but not yet finalized. I need more input from you to make the decision on it. But most of you haven't even read much of the series. Over the next few days I'll be posting parts 1-12 in the order released. This is to fill you in, and it gives me time to sort other things out while still providing reading material for those of you who decide to actually read it. So, post your feedback and have fun.

It started out on college campuses and slowly spread around and then seeped into the mainstream community. Then the facebook team realized that they practically owned everyone's identity; hired a bunch of attorneys and decided that anything you do should be made public for anyone to see. They've been sued over this, and then they sued another company for doing the same thing they are: Making people's information public without any real consent. Want to make something visible to one person but not another: Get a degree in facebook bureaucracy. They removed your ability to hide your friends list from certain friends. And they're spreading this non-functionality around. You can't "Like" (formerly "become a fan") something without it being made public, else you can't like it. And they still store that click so advertisers can better target you. You want out of the service; fine, but any and all data that you had up will be stored "in case you change your mind" ... yeah, they keep your information. They practically own you. And people were jumping up and down on Google storing your data for six months. There was a Web 2.0 service which would delete your account for you if you gave it your password, but guess what? Facebook got them shutdown; They don't seem to like other people meddling with "your property".

Luckily, there are tons of alternatives. Ok, so you don't want to switch back to myspace or orkut. No problem. Lifehacker recently had a post up on how to manage your online identity and it was a very good read if I may say so. Let's start by
listing what facebook really offers you (in a very basic sense):

A "news feed" where you can read other people's activity and status updates

Private messaging

Upload and share pictures

Upload and share videos

Live Chat

Notes

Groups

The ability to use your facebook to login to other pages

Create and display a "profile" with a picture!! IN COLOR!!

Ok, so let's get started:

Twitter will allow you to post "status updates" and view all your friends' status updates along with any celebrity you wish to stalk in a single stream. It also involves different channels which can simulate groups and you can broadcast your activity on it.

Private messaging can also be done on twitter and it's known as a DM or direct message. You can also use something called e-mail.

For pictures you can use a picture sharing service like picasa or flickr (so what if other people have a lot of really good pictures on there). This allows you to control who sees what. And yes, you have the ability to "tag people"

Videos; Youtube. 'Nuff said. Tip: You can control who sees your video if you want. It doesn't HAVE to be public. Alternatively you can use a different service like dailymotion or metacafe.

Live Chat: You have a LOT of stuff to go here. You can use skype, jabber, irc, aim, googletalk (more on this later) and viral online services like tinychat which let you login using your twitter.

Here's something that looks insignificant but is very BIG: Notes. Most microblogging services like twitter limit your update to 140 characters or so. I'm not sure about tumblr though (leave comments if you are). But the best thing to do here is to start a blog. There are a lot of great free services out there like wordpress, livejournal and blogger. Pick one to suit your fancy. You can also upload pictures and videos here if you wish. AND you get to create a profile... with a picture... in color.

Most blogging services get you an OpenID which is accepted by a lot of places much like the "login with facebook" buttons.

Groups: This is easy too. You could create a brand new blog for a group and get people to follow it, or get a group profile on twitter, the possibilites are endless. Plus: you get to customize it more!

Now, you probably don't want to have to use fifteen different services to do something that facebook let's you do on one page right? But what if I told you that you can get all this on ONE page?! There are a lot of services out there like this but before I start counting them off; I want to introduce something for this unified communication: Google Buzz. Yes, you have excellent privacy controls on your posts and you can connect it to your photo sharing site, your video sharing site *cough* youtube *cough* your twitter, your blog, your google reader (if you use it - it's really nifty) and they display in a very "news feed" -ish sort of way where you can comment on it and "like" it. Oh and you can choose who gets to see the post. Google buzz is really cool, and gets you a google profile that you can customize... with a picture... in color!!

Back to the unify all on one page thing (google buzz - check it out - and follow me) flavors.me is a free service which allows you to have everything on one page and when you click on a link it opens up on the same page!! no opening in a separate tab or window. Don't believe me? Check it out right now: http://www.flavors.me/zachariah

It's also very very customizable so get creative with it. You might also like unhub, card.ly or chi.mp. Speaking of chi.mp, they give you your very own .mp domain name with a complete profile AND connected sites. It's basically an online thumbprint that is also an OpenID. It also integrates itself with your google analytics and google webmaster tools (in case you were curious about it)

But what if I don't want to login to everything to CONTROL it? Well, like I mentioned previously: Google Buzz is a nifty tool. But if you want to control the individual stuff from one place you could use iGoogle. If you're paranoid about google then you could use netvibes; they seem to be pretty cool. And you might want to check out my brief article on google (there's a follow-up coming soon too) Google - A quick look into one of the largest and...

Oh and while I'm ranting: Recently, I've noticed more updates on an upcoming game called Quantum Theory. What is plainly obvious is that it's a Gears of War clone. Now here's where I had my laugh: the comments section. The xbox fanboys ranting about how its a ripoff and will therefore suck and how noone has any respect for the game. If it's a clone then how can one suck and one be the complete opposite :S That's fanboy logic. It's unorignial but they never claimed it was. Why is that so bad? Halo has been ripping itself off for years noone cared. Forza attempted to mimick Grand Turismo 5 and noone cared. But when something clones one of the rare xbox exclusives that are actually worth playing then everybody goes nuts over it. I find it very amusing personally. Also, it is out of respect that things are cloned. If noone has respect then the game would've been distorted to something wretched or something to that effect.

Yeah, so that wasn't really relevant but what the heck? I hope you found this informative. Please leave comments if you have any. Alternatively if you have any questions; don't hesitate to leave it in a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible, or give me a call using the buttons on the right. Please leave comments; I consider them a form of contact. I like to be contacted.

Just to let you know, I'm almost done with the series finale of the Stream of Consciousness but it struck me that the first twelve parts aren't available on this blog as of yet. I'll start posting those on here to let you catch up :D I know that it'll cause a delay but I have two versions of the finale and the extra time will give me an opportunity to walk into the light for a while before I pick one. One is quite disturbing while the other is just like a regular stream.

Did you guys hear about Microsoft and HTC's patent deal? They even failed to mention the violated patents. What's to stop Microsoft's own engineers to contribute code to an open source project and then claim patent infringement (which is quite likely by the way they do things). Linux is something that could result in the downfall of Microsoft but they're redirecting the force and looking to monetize Linux. From a business standpoint all they've done so far is sheer brilliance. From a technology and consumer standpoint; they're playing dirty as they always have. Novell, Amazon, Xandros, TomTom. Anyone who tries to push linux and publicize it is greeted with a barrage of F.U.D's and royalties for Microsoft. Whew, I feel better now that I've let that out.

A couple of days ago, I got my phonebooth invite and registered it under "The Tensor Field" and even though I haven't fiddled with it yet I am going to update some of the gadgetry on my blog sometime this month. And with all the fiddling around I'm doing with other things *cough* Accurate human *cough* AI model *cough* and implementation *cough* telephony solutions *cough* A new network framework *cough* and encryption standard *cough* The AI project involves lots of sociology, psychology, neuroscience and engineering. Yes, all break down to math and are therefore essentially the same, I know. If you're interested in any of this don't hesitate to contact me. Or if you have ideas for something that you would like a brainstorm report on, feel free to call me, or email me or comment below.

The Mensa AG is getting closer but I don't know if I'm going yet. I'm trying to get in school for the summer semester but they haven't gotten back to me yet. It's been a whole month now to process something they said would take a week. It's annoying. I have to check up on when the Triple Nine AG is; maybe I'll go there too. I'm not really built for starting conversations but I like to think that I can converse well when someone else starts off. Leave comments please!! Note that no sign up of any kind is needed. Just a comment and submit (Preferably a name too?)

Oh and by the way (This is a note to Blogger) What have you done with my 'add an image' button in the edit posts menu?
