Season 16, Episode 112 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the recent pro days conducted by Ohio State and Alabama and how neither Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan nor HC Mike McCarthy were present for either of them. We also talk about how Khan and McCarthy have only really attended one pro day outside of Pittsburgh this offseason and how not very many positional coaches have been spotted on the road these last several weeks.

Alex and I discuss how we will likely need to rely heavily on the pre-draft visits the Steelers conduct this offseason when it comes to figuring out several potential selections this year. We also wonder if the new Steelers pre-draft process might become the new normal moving forward.

Moving forward from our discussions about the Steelers' pre-draft process this offseason, Alex and I have several conversations that are centered around the wide receiver position, both globally and related to the Steelers. We discuss positional value when it comes to first round wide receivers and specifically as it relates to drafts dating back to 2016. We go over the compact list of elite and exceptionally good wide receivers that were selected in the first-round dating back to 2016.

Season 16, Episode 80 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday afternoon episode, Alex Kozora and I get right back into discussing everything related to the Pittsburgh Steelers continuing to search for their next head coach.

The Steelers have signed several players to Reserve/Future contracts since our last show, so Alex and I make sure to catch listeners up on all of the recent transactions made by the team.

In addition to Watt, the Steelers have two other players that have been ruled out for Monday night in addition to two others being listed as questionable. Those two questionable players are DT Derrick Harmon (knee) and RB Jaylen Warren (illness), who was added to the team's injury report during this show.

The Steelers are sure to have some transactions announced on Monday so Alex and I go over what those moves might possibly look like. We do, however, get news during the show that WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be signed off the team's practice squad later in the day.

Season 16, Episode 55 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers making a few practice squad transactions since our last show. We also discuss the news related to injured Steelers DL Daniel Ekuale being given a five-game suspension on Tuesday and the impact that has on him and the team.

Alex and I then go over the list of injured Steelers players heading into Week 13 and that includes DT Derrick Harmon and T Broderick Jones already being ruled out for Sunday's home game against the Buffalo Bills. We also discuss the prospects of Rodgers returning to action on Sunday for the team's week 13 home game.

After going through the newsy items related to Sunday's game, Alex and I look at what all transpired at Soldier Field in Chicago. We first talk about the play of the Steelers' defense and how poor things looked on that side of the football. We discuss that unit's play against the run on Sunday and several plays of 10 yards or longer that were allowed. We also discuss the defense’s inability to get pressure on Bears QB Caleb Williams on Sunday.

The Steelers methodology and scheming late in the first half against the Bears really upset Alex and me. We also discuss the longest touchdown pass allowed by the Steelers defense on Sunday and how the coverage used on that play shouldn't have been completely utilized.

After discussing the play of the Steelers' defense against the Bears, Alex and I then do the same when it comes to Pittsburgh's offense. We talk a lot about how QB Mason Rudolph played overall and his inability to effectively push the football down the field through the air. We discuss Rudolph’s intended air yard average as well as his completed air yard average. We also talk about how poorly Rudolph performed on Sunday when using play-action.

While the Steelers’ running game was effective enough against the Bears, it still wasnt enough to help the passing game portion of the offense. The offensive line, in our opinion, played well overall. We discuss the tight end output, the overall lack of yards after the catch on Sunday, and much more.

The illegal formation penalty on the Steelers offense late in Sunday’s game really disturbed Alex and me. We discuss how and why that shouldn’t have happened and how a timeout should have been called to avoid the penalty.

Special teams certainly played a role in Sunday's loss, so Alex and I make sure to hit on what went wrong in that phase of the game at Soldier Field.

We make sure to discuss a few in-game decisions made by Steelers HC Mike Tomlin throughout this show as well.

The Steelers are really just a mid team this year and that's been known for several weeks now. We discuss how hard it will be for the 2025 Steelers to not only win the AFC North division at this point but merely make the playoffs as well.

We discuss the several big plays made by the defense on Sunday and go over some key stats when it comes to the scheme used. While the Steelers defense was far from perfect on Sunday, the good clearly made a difference in the game.

Now that Alex and I have completed our individual looks at the all-22 tape from the Steelers Thursday night loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, we each give extended thoughts on what transpired in that contest. We start off with the positives that we saw from the Steelers offense against the Bengals and then go over the several negatives that transpired on defense. We discuss the quick snap-to-throw time that Bengals QB Joe Flacco had on Thursday night and how the Cincinnati running game gave the Steelers defense fits.

Missed tackles played a huge role in the Thursday night loss so we go over that element from the contest. We also discuss once again the limited playing time that Steelers OLB Nick Herbig had in Cincinnati.

Alex and I both agree that we will learn quite a bit more about the Steelers defense in the next two weeks as that unit will face quality offenses in the form of the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts

Season 16, Episode 38 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 7 Thursday night road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on a short week.

With the Steelers' defense playing a huge part in the team's loss to the Bengals, Alex and I spend a lot of time during this show talking about all of the woes that unit had on Thursday. We address the defense getting run on quite easily, and how Bengals QB Joe Flacco had no problems when it came to attacking either man or zone coverages that he faced.

While the Steelers attempted to mix up their defensive coverages Thursday night, that unit still could not prevent WR Ja'Marr Chase from having a big night. We go over the play of CB Jalen Ramsey and how poor it was. We also discuss how Flacco easily used slants to destroy the defense. We also discuss Flacco getting the ball out quickly Thursday night and how the few deep shots he took connected quite easily.

As bad as the Steelers defense played Thursday night, the team's offense still gave that unit one final chance to get a stop to win the game. The defense could not accomplish that, and we discuss how easily the Bengals offense moved the football during their final possession for a game-winning field goal.

The Steelers offense, outside of the two interceptions thrown by QB Aaron Rodgers, played well overall on Thursday night. We discuss the running game showing more life against the Bengals and TE Pat Freiermuth also wound up having a monster game in a losing effort.

The Steelers did have a few questionable play calls and execution errors that we cover during this show and that includes the botched flea-flicker. We also go over some key penalties the Steelers had on offense against the Bengals.
Several various and key plays on both sides of the football are discussed throughout this show in addition to several individual player performances as well. We go over several snap counts from the Thursday night game and how OLB Nick Herbig probably should have seen more playing time against the Bengals.
