Spiderman attends lecture on morality

Last night my wife and I were watching broadcast television when she suddenly asked, "Is that Spiderman?" We were watching a lecture on morality - not the kind of show where Spiderman would make an appearance. For some reason, Spiderman was just chillin' out in the audience! I grabbed my camera and took some quick pictures.

If anyone else saw this or knows any explanation, I'd love to hear it in the comments!

Little blind Alabama Football Fan visits Nick Saban, Mark Ingram and Julio Jones

I normally hate chain emails, but this one was too charming not to share. I thought I'd post it here on my blog instead of emailing everyone I know.

The little boy pictured is terminally ill. The illness has recently caused him to go blind. A cold call was made to the University of Alabama and after verification that the story was true a meeting was set up with the team, the boy and his family. I was told they spent like 5 hours with the boy and toured the whole facility and that the players stayed with him the whole time.

In the pictures you will see the boy with Saban’s National Championship rings on, sitting behind his desk etc. But the pictures that get me the most are the ones with Mark Ingram and Julio Jones. As I mentioned the boy just recently went blind and he wanted to feel Mark and Julio’s muscles, in the pictures you can see him feeling their muscles. How awesome is that!

Yesterday when I was told the story I asked for a few more pictures and I may get more, if I do I will send them out. ...Most likely, Coach Saban had a lot to do with all this and it makes me have an even greater respect for what he is doing in Tuscaloosa. YEP I am drinking the cool aid and it is good! ROLL TIDE and May God bless this boy, his parents and the Coach/Players at the University of Alabama who made one of his final days on this earth a special one.

Time to start my home business back up again?

"We Bring your PC back from the Dead!"

Ah, the joys of being at a crossroad. Recently, Maria and I have entertained the idea of starting my old computer repair business back up as a side job. We know its at least moderately profitable, its something I personally love, and it wouldn't hurt the ol' resume.

That doesn't mean there aren't downsides. Would I have the energy after working a full-days work to pursue a home business? Could Maria and I make the sacrifices required to give the new company the attention it deserves? All these questions are answered with a resounding "I dunno."

Time for a few days of prayer and brainstorming, if you ask me. Either way, I need a snappy new name. Frankenstein PC Repair is catchy, but I want something a little less "Halloween" themed.

Off to Tampa with no job, a little money and big dreams.

Nothing could go wrong, right?

Today I pack up my things and leave Tuscaloosa forever (ish). A couple of days with the parents, then off to Tampa. Maria is back in Virginia desperately pulling together another wedding (since our last one was canceled due to oil-delays), and I'm busy hunting for jobs like a fat kid hunts for butter.

On the bright side, the oil spill might make apartments cheaper at Tampa.

It's the end of the world!

My world, at least. And that’s a good thing.

In the course of a week, I’ve graduated college, canceled wedding plans (oil spill means no beach wedding), and been hunting for a new job like a dog chasing its tail. Chaos, I know.

Never the less, I’ve decided to mark the occasion by starting a new personal blog! Some of you may remember my first attempt at a blog about four years ago, but that was more of an experiment than anything else. I aim to make this website a little more personal than my previous ones. (Yes, there were more than one. One is still fossilized...)
