I have been trying to run through Assassin's Creed II in a marathon session, so that I can start on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The AC series is one of my favorites and I look forward to seeing what UbiSoft has in store for us after Assassin's Creed Revelations . In writing news, I still have some bad writer's block and I lost my previous file, but I'm still plunking away at it. More later.............

Yes folks, we have indeed reached November already. it's amazing how fast the days have gone by in 2011. I already have a backbone for what I will be writing for NaNoWriMo and so far so good. As for what I'm writing, well, you'll have to check back for more info on that.

On the gaming front, I am still going strong with WoW, I finished Gears of War 3 and have tapped back into my backlog to work on Assassin's Creed II. I still have to finish that and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood before I bother buying the new game. It's just a rule I have for myself. My backlog is big enough without adding to it. I also saw the Skylanders display at Target and so did my son. I think we put every figure they had up there on that base. It's looks cool, but damn, adding that up, it would be expensive, so no way am I going get that addiction started. Well, it's early and there is work to be done, but I will post more throughout the day.

Well, I started with Saint's Row, but I ran into a snag on that final Los Carnales mission. This is the mission where you have to blow up the plane before it takes off. Dex is driving and you're shooting. Simple enough right? Wrong. There are guys with rocket launchers, and due to the games stiff camera and shooting controls, it is a true pain in the ass to get this part done. After about 15 tries, I decided to stop before I broke my damn XBOX. From there, I moved on to Assassins Creed, which I finished. Just playing through the game netted me 750/1000 achievement points, which isn't bad.

Next up is Prototype, an open world game from back in 2009. So far so good. The game play is pretty fun, and I believe this game uses a modified version of the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction engine. More later.

I was sitting at my desk one afternoon, when for whatever reason, I decided to turn my chair around to my bookcase. Behind me, about 2 and half stacks of games for the Xbox 360 and PS3 that I haven't finished. So, I have vowed to not buy another game until I complete these, and I start with Saint's Row.

Ok, I'm not going to say that Hillis didn't deserve to get the cover, but let's take some things into consideration.
First off, he beat out both Aaron Rodgers and Michael Vick for the cover. And he didn't just squeak by, he won by nearly double the votes against both of these guys. That leads me to the conclusion (which is of course, my opinion), that both the Packers and Eagles fans assisted Hillis in winning, because they didn't want their star QBs to fall victim to the "Madden Curse". It may be far fetched, but that's what I think.
More importantly, Congrats Peyton Hillis! Just think, he seemingly came out of nowhere after being buried on the Broncos bench, even though they had him at starting fullback for a bit. The man is a pro-bowler now. Keep up that bruising, smashmouth running man, I love it!

AMD, do everyone a big favor, don't start doing this. NVIDIA already has. The 5770 is still the best card you can get for ~$110 though. Also, as the article states, these are OEM rebrands, no word on anything being done as far as retail shelves.

Rift

Dead Space 2

WoW, Rift, Dragon Age II, Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm.. I could keep going, but this is a situation that I'm pretty glad to have. So many games to play, yet not enough time to play them all. WoW pretty much speaks for itself at this point, but Rift has been a pleasant surprise. I will post more about Rift later on. Bulletstorm is pretty juvenile, but still a lot of fun. Dead Space 2 is better than the first IMHO, and that's saying a lot because the first game was incredible.

Dragon Age II

Now, Dragon Age II, well it seems like a totally different game in a similar setting. Some people have said it was given the "Mass Effect 2" treatment, but to me, that seems to be only half of it thus far. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the game a great deal, but it seems to have been diluted a bit. Having said that, you don't have to invest the time in Dragon Age: Origins if you don't want to. Reason being, It doesn't seem like the save game content of Origins has as much of an impact on this one as Mass Effect does for it's sequel. Still a fun game and a great point of entry that may get you curious enough to try the first game.
