Anyway, last weekend I found a Questionnaire Meme thing. Basically it was 50 Random Questions which I answered over the two days of the weekend, and I thought I would share it here.

UG!… Need coffee. Also I should Shave.

On my person? Zero. I emptied my pockets when I got back from the Supermarket, and I have no cash on me.

I am going to say Pluto. Because Pluto will always be a planet to me, and you other Hipster planets who won’t let Pluto into your group can kiss Pluto’s rocky arse!

My Office Phone. I believe I was testing some forwarding rules.

6. What is your favorite ring tone on your phone?

Well My ring tone is currently “Nerds are King by SFO” But I fancy changing it to Dance Macabre.

I tried to label myself once, but the labels kept falling off and then my boss shouted I was wasting all the labels from the label maker. ;-(

I have no idea.

Depends on what I am doing. But I would go more for the Dark room, I am a Goth you know.

Well Since I am typing this on my laptop, I guess we will go with that its a yellow cross and bones hackers wall paper.

A million pounds please. Flying would grow old, and how far could you travel really? and carry stuff? A million pound would make me much happier…

I do not know. Maybe people are Jealous of my extremely high IQ, or my total awesomeness, or maybe my fantastic Modesty? I do not know, Some have claimed Jealousy over my flirting with celebrities on Twitter, but..

I doubt anyone is jealous of me.

I was on a training course, I got a text saying “GET NEWS ON NOW” and I was able to get online and watch what was happening.

Cry Havok and let loose the hounds of war!

Or, calmly look at the machine, and use secret Ninja-Hacker ways of getting my money back, or the item I was trying to purchase.

Yes, but at the same time No!

A cool dragon on my shoulder. Since I’ve been using Dragons as online Avatars since the very early 90′s.

• It aint easy being an egomaniac with an inferiority complex
• If you are not living life on the edge, you are taking up to much space.
• Do unto others as they would do unto you. But do it first!
• Rules are made to be broken.
• If they are under 16 they are protected by law, Over 60 by Nature, anything in between is fair game.
• The rat race is mainly for rats, so make sure you are the person in the white coat. Its a lot less stressful.

• Don’t get Mad. Get Even!!
• When Threatened do the opposite of what they want.

Write? Paper & Pen? Sheesh? That would be, 1997/98 Ish and it was a letter to a friend in Staff’s Uni.

Yes. I have a Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, I am a highly Qualified Electrician, I once stripped and rebuilt a Motorbike, after a fire based incident!

I can do the Engineering things when I have to. But normally get a mechanic to do the work for me.

46. Your first love: what is the last thing you heard about him/her?

She got married.

47. How far back do you know about your ancestry?

A long way back. My ancestors come from a small part of Wales that was thrice cursed by Monks, and is described in a papal decree as the most unholyest place on earth.

Err, Last Monday I was in full suit & waistcoat, etc at the Installation meeting of the Holy Royal Arch Chapter I am a member of.

OK, So we are all aware of the Magpie fortune telling poem. “What do you mean you have no idea what I am on about?” Right for a primer go read this “Greetings Mr Magpie. One for Sorrow…” I will wait here for you while you do.

***Time Passes***

OK, So we are NOW all aware of the Magpie fortune telling poem, But I have some Questions relating to it.

1) How do you count the Magpies?

You see a magpie by itself and you go “ONE”, Then you see another one and go “TWO” but? Is it two or is it two single Magpies?

2) Is there a set area in which to count the Magpies?

If there are two or more Magpies standing next to each other then the counting is obvious. But what if there are say two Magpies together and a third three foot away, does it count?

3) Do you count based on the Photograph affect?

If when you saw the first Magpie and in your mind took a photograph do you count all the Magpie’s you can see at that minute. So if a second or two later you see another Magpie does that count to the total score or do you start recounting.

4) Do you count based on a time frame?

So after the first Magpie is spotted does a timer start, and you count every Magpie you see in the follow few seconds? Does it go by blinking?

Hopefully its blinking, because I can go a long time between blinks. This would allow me to cheat and not blink until I hit a score that is beneficial to me.

5) How does multiples count?

OK. so you have your counting rules fixed in your mind. And you see a Magpie (ONE) then a short while again you see another Magpie (ONE) now, which of the three options does this count as?

a) Fortune is confirming that you are in for Sorrow

b) You are going to have two lots of sorrow

c) Your sorrow is now going to be twice as bad

This may seem a bit of an odd thing to contemplate, but its for a very very good reason. “Three for a Girl” If we can get the rules agreed on (go for blinking) I could fix it so I always get to count Magpies as being three, then if I can get two lots of three Then according to (5b) I would get a threesome, more than two lots of three and we are in for an orgy!

Over the years several pieces of my poetry have been reprinted across the Internet on a multitude of sites. In the majority of these cases the poster has credited me in some way, and in a couple of instances credited Edgar Allan Poe which I took as a massive compliment. Unfortunately not everyone on the Internet follows a decent moral code, and I have found pieces of my work posted with different people credited as the author. There was even an online book containing several pieces of my work (Since taken down and apologies received)

I have therefore decided that since my humble works seem to be slightly popular, and so I can occasionally put my occupation down as ?Freelance Poet? I would gather a selection of my work and publish it in a small book, this very book in fact.

Today is May 25th which is a day of celebration for two reasons. :-

Towel Day

We are all aware of the greatness of towels, we learnt this information in Chapter 3 of Adams’ work The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitch hiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitch hiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitch hiker might accidentally have “lost”. What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

Geek Pride Day

Geek Pride Day is an initiative which claims the right of every person to be a nerd or a geek. It has been celebrated on May 25 since 2006, celebrating the premiere of the first Star Wars movie in 1977.

Basic rights and responsibilities of geeks

A manifesto was created to celebrate the first Geek Pride Day which included the following list of basic rights and responsibilities of geeks.[3]

Rights:

1. The right to be even geekier.
2. The right to not leave your house.
3. The right to not like football or any other sport.
4. The right to associate with other nerds.
5. The right to have few friends (or none at all).
6. The right to have as many geeky friends as you want.

This morning on my daily commute to the Insane Asylum, I had the misfortune to come across a Hitler.

I was approaching a school up a steep hill, I was the ONLY car on the road, Nothing behind me, no Oncoming traffic, NOTHING.

Yet when I was about 3 meters away from the Lolly Pop Hitler he placed his stick in front of my car making me legally have to stop, from 30mph in less than 3 meters.

All so an adult man could cross the road. The road that was empty apart from my car, after I had passed the man could have crawled across the road. There was no need to stop my car apart from the little Hitler enjoying his power.

Local government needs better vetting processes.

Goth Day is exactlywhat it says on the wrapper-a day where the goth scene gets to celebrate it’s own being, and an opportunity to make its presence known to the rest of the world.

WHY MAY 22^ND?

Frankly, if there wasn’t an occasion on the 22^nd of May, that day would just sit around on your calendar not earning its keep & generally freeloading off the other dates…

NOTE: It’s understood that May 22^nd might not be a convenient date for everyone to celebrate Goth Day (let’s face it; Wednesdays are a ghost-ship for any event at the best of times), so it’s more of a guideline than a hard & fast rule. Most good events happen on a weekend, but we’ll cross that bridge as the years go by.

So far we have Mother’s Day, Fathers’ Day, Christmas, all manner of religious holidays, some of you may even have special annual celebrations for your pets. It’s only fair that Goths get to have a day of their own too…

BUT DON’T GOTHS MOSTLY TEND TO SHY AWAY FROM THE LIMELIGHT (OR FOR THAT MATTER, MOST FORMS OF LIGHT)?

Yes. But there are quite a few Goths who have fought damn hard to retain their identity despite peer pressure, family pressure and indeed, any pressure to conform. And if you’ve gone to all that trouble to preserve what you believe is the ‘real you’, don’t you think you owe it to yourself to shine for a day?

ISN’T HALLOWEEN A BETTER TIME TO HAVE GOTH DAY?

I suppose it is. As long as you want to share it with half the world who think it’ll be cool to wear black for a day just so they can look ‘spooky’, and completely miss the point after you’ve gone to all that effort to look that good all year round…

Freemasons to help local families still homeless because of last year’s floods

Many people in North Wales are still suffering as a result of the floods that hit last November, with families remaining homeless. The Province of North Wales has joined together with The Freemasons’ Grand Charity, a national grant-maker, to donate £13,000 to those affected.
Freemasons in the local area have raised £3,000, in addition, the President of The Freemasons’ Grand Charity has also approved a grant of £10,000 to help the St Asaph & Ruthin Flood Appeals. This money will be used to help families who have been made homeless, many of whom have young children.

On Tuesday 27th November 2012, North Wales was struck by a period of torrential rain, bursting the banks of the River Elwy causing flooding in the St Asaph and Ruthin area. The event was reported as the biggest disaster to hit North Wales since the Towyn floods of 1990. One person was killed and over 1,100 people were affected, with 451 properties flooded.

The Provincial Grand Master for North Wales – Ieuan Redvers Jones stated, “We have witnessed first-hand the devastation caused by the floods in the St Asaph and Ruthin area and four months on we are eager to help those families who are still homeless. We hope that this £13,000 will provide them with much needed items, and that soon they will be able to return to their homes. Freemasons care about their local communities and we are very happy to be able to help in this way.”

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity donates £2.5million to charitable causes every year.
