"Two years after pledging to pull Greece back from the brink, European leaders are torn between pouring more aid into the struggling economy or risking an unprecedented national bankruptcy that might force the country out of the euro and prompt renewed market tumult" ~ according to Bloomberg Businessweek.

Even with the 130 billion euros aid package and 100 billion euros of debt relief from private bond holders, Greece still needs help to make a 14.5 billion bond payment on March 20.

I'm just wondering if some countries (especially the 4 which still have a AAA rating) are refusing to come up with the additional aid because they would rather Greece get kicked out of the EU. I won't blame them if they do. Looking at the EUR/USD these days, I'm not sure which side to be more thankful for not being part of.

1. Would we be willing to do a startup with you?

This is the first question we ask ourselves as a team when we meet to evaluate a candidate. It sums up a number of key criteria:

• Time: If we’re willing to do a startup with you, we’re agreeing that we’d be willing to be locked in a small room with you for long periods of time. The ability to enjoy another person’s company is critical to being able to invest in each other’s growth.
• Trust: Can we trust you? Will we have to look over your shoulder to make sure you’re doing an A+ job? That may go without saying, but the reverse is also important: will you trust me? If you don’t trust me, we’re both in trouble.
• Communication: Can we communicate with each other quickly and efficiently? If we’re going to spend a tremendous amount of time together and if we need to trust each other, we’ll need to communicate. Only 3 weeks into the job and I've seen so much drama in Singapore.

The taxi fare hikes and SMRT saga left Singaporeans to ponder the pros and cons of privatising what we call PUBLIC transport. ComfortDelGro and SMRT - both corporations witnessing 6-7% increase in revenue compared to a year ago. Frankly, I can't think of any other PUBLIC transport company in the world that is doing so well.

Dear SMRT, if the MRT breaks down while I am in it, I don't care whether you say there is ventilation, I will break the first glass pane on a door I find and GTFO ASAP. ComfortDelGro, I am going to blame you for the foreseeable increase in drunk driving cases especially with talk about the puke charges running far and wide. So much for all the campaigns for "Don't drive to drink, and you will never drink and drive".

With the passing of the monsoon season plagued by everyday showers, our ministers decided that they were getting too much money. No shit Sherlock. Even with a 36% paycut, it leaves our dear prime minister with a $1.7million salary, which makes him "STILL world's best paid leader" according to ABC news, Reuters, and a whole lot of others oh-they-are-not-perfectly-reliable sources.

You know what tickles me most? It's when someone from out of the blue tries to claim that they were not in it for the money and the press get their hands all over it. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you Grace Fu.

When I made the decision to join politics in 2006, pay was not a key factor. Loss of privacy, public scrutiny on myself and my family and loss of personal time were. The disruption to my career was also an important consideration. I had some ground to believe that my family would not suffer a drastic change in the standard of living even though I experienced a drop in my income. So it is with this recent pay cut. If the balance is tilted further in the future, it will make it harder for any one considering political office.

With a Facebook update like that, I think my doubts about the quality of some of our ministers have been re-affirmed. Now I just need to figure out how to say these things that shoot myself in the foot - maybe that is the secret behind drawing a minister's pay. Either that or we have to have to do our internship at Marine Parade GRC with Ms Tin. I heard they pay well for that too.

Of course, we don't get this everyday (damn it!) but its times like these that I can vouch for the freshness of the food and the quality of the preparation. "CEO of SMRT Saw Phaik Hwa (right) says she would consider calls by some for resignations to take responsibilty" as reported by CNA in Singapore.

Frankly, letting her resign is making it easy for her don't you think?

On another note, the price hikes seem to have fueled rage towards SMRT and I find that pretty normal since every price hike causes this reaction in SIngapore at least. What is strange this time is that the lack of crisis management procedures suggests that any additional money they intend to collect from commuters may not be properly spent or distributed within company.

This worries me about the future of Singapore's Most Reliable Transport - now better known as Singapore's Most Ridiculous Transport.

I’m going to miss Hyomin as leader of T-ara (right of photo beside Eunjung) with Soyeon taking over. And I can’t wait for Dream High 2 which Jiyeon will be acting in. Really couldn’t stand watching Miss A’s Suzy on the first season. They start filming only in December but looking at the cast, I think it should be as good as the first season.
