First Month Evaluation

2016-02-01T07:07:00.001-08:00

Today begins a new month. It is time to evaluate my goals I set in December and see if I am happy with where I am right now.

1. I am happy to have limited my decision to find a church home for Sunday nights due to my work schedule. I am still waiting for one critical piece of information that I thought I would have already known by now, but that is beyond my control.

2. I have been reading my Bible every day and finished three books to this point.

3. Work is getting better. They are in the process of hiring three new RCA's, I got one Sunday off (finally!), and we now report at 7:30 instead of 8:00.

4. I am about 52% complete with my 2016 room cleaning initiative with one month to go before March's Spring Cleaning begins.

5. While exercise and diet have been inconsistent so far, I have improved my overall eating habits with more water and less dessert.

6. I only watched one Bond movie and did one Monster Movie Tournament matchup this month, but did watch one movie at the theater. I also have been better with my schedule of watching movies, YouTube videos, and shows like Portlandia.

7. While reading has been very inconsistent, I still have read two books which is 33% of my total from last year.

8. I have been so busy, it has been hard to blog and organize the YouTube videos, but progress has been made. I have most importantly uploaded a video every Friday so far.

9. 2nd and Charles has provided me with several new games that I have been able to play every Friday night so far.

10. Saturday Nights with Friends has been able to happen every week with games, movies, making YouTube videos, and doughnuts.

Final Thoughts: While improvements are needed, I am pleased that every area has seen improvement from the previous month!

How are your goals looking so far?

Two New Videos

2016-01-28T16:51:00.001-08:00

Things continue to be busy here, but I have maintained my schedule of uploading new videos every Friday. The first video from January 15th was a previously lost video from last year's Super Dope Party. I found some footage on my personal Facebook page and used it in the video. The quality is not good, and it is only a two minute cat video, but I wanted to post it for future reference.

The last video I posted on January 22nd was a highly anticipated video that we made a few weeks back. It was requested by my sister, Scarlettpear that we all try Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans as a sort of game. I had it filmed as part of my new series Trojanpear and Friends and posted the video last Friday.

Trojanpear and Friends Try Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans

If you want us to try something you can let us know by commenting on any of the Trojanpear formats such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, mail, or here. To increase the chances of us trying the item, it would be beneficial to send us the item by mail at PO Box 8166, Columbus, GA 31908. We already have another item to try in the near future. New video will be uploaded tomorrow to The Trojanpear at the normal time. Enjoy!

So Busy...

2016-01-12T07:43:00.001-08:00

Wow! Things have been crazy since my last blog. I have been working almost everyday, and with all the other things I needed to do, it has been one busy week.

First, I did not get to start my Monster Movie Tournament matchup last week. It will start next week. This week will be the week I begin watching the James Bond movies. First up, Dr. No. I am also working on the Mad Max series and have now seen The Road Warrior. I expect to receive Beyond Thunderdome soon. I am also almost through with The Bible miniseries.

The room cleaning initiative began last week and I cleaned my desk. I also bought a new chair for my desk.

Friday was FNS. Started by playing Super Mario Bros. I beat it (without taking shortcuts) in less than an hour and watched an episode of my favorite show of 2015, Portlandia. I also uploaded my latest video on YouTube. In it, I discuss my plans for 2016 for all my Trojanpear series and changes coming up.

Saturday was game night at ChillWilliWill's house. The gang tried out some of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. It was hilarious and we got it all on film too! It will be coming to YouTube on January 22nd part of the new Trojanpear and Friends series. We also played Uno. Squidrift won with Scarlettpear as the runner-up.

Sunday was my Dad's birthday. We went to Sapo's Mexican Restaurant for dinner. I posted a brief review on their Facebook page if you want to see what I thought. 4 out of 5 stars. It was also the Golden Globes night. I watched a little of it before passing out for the night. I was surprised by some of the results. We will see how things go on my favorite awards show, The Critics Choice next week.

Well gotta go get some lunch. Meeting ChillWilliWill for some Hibachiiiiiii!!!!!!

The New Year Is Going Strong

2016-01-04T07:38:00.000-08:00

It is now the 4th day of the new year and I can say that things are still going well. Saturday, I kicked off the new work year by getting rid of my old shoes and wearing my other shoes I had been holding until this moment. I also my new eating strategy for the new year.

Yesterday was a busy day. I had to work delivering Amazon packages. When I came home, I went with my father to 2nd and Charles. It was his first time there. It has only opened a few months ago, but it is easily one of my favorite places. I have bought many old games already from there.

Later that day I went to an evening worship service since I had to work that morning. When I came home, I watched a few YouTube videos before reading and bed.

Now today I hope to launch my yearly room cleaning initiative. I have taken my chair that broke and threw it out. Now I need to go get a new one today. I plan on playing the Monster Movie Tournament tonight. I will be watching #2Gojira and then tomorrow watch #15 Tokyo S.O.S.

I am beginning to work on the new Trojanpear video. It will be ready Friday. Hope your new year is going strong as well.

A New Year For The Trojanpear

2016-01-01T07:56:00.000-08:00

Happy New Year everyone! I'm back!

A new year brings new goals and objectives to improve upon those things I did not do as well as I would have liked. There was the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good:
2015 will be known as "The Year of the Promotion" as my dad was promoted to Sargent, my sister was promoted to full time, ChillWilliWill was promoted to Dean, and I went from the 4th RCA to the 2nd RCA in one year.
I read the Bible in one year, finishing Wednesday.
I found a new morning routine that has been more successful than any I have had in several years.

The bad:
I only read 6 books this year, one of my worst reading years ever.
Many routines planned in 2015 never fully materialized.

The ugly:
One word - Church. My vision for 2015 was not accepted, other plans fell apart, and I began to have to work more often on Sundays which has forced me into a situation where I do not know where to go heading into 2016.

I am hoping for big things or many little things to happen in 2016. My theme is "The Year of Organization." Being organized will help ensure that I do all the things I want to do this year. I am not doing it all at once, though. I have mapped out all the things I want to start within the first two weeks with a few areas being held off until I develop a better understanding of what I want to do.

It actually began yesterday with the start of my new plan to read the Bible in a year. I also launched the new Trojanpear video plan for 2016 with a look back at my favorites in 2015. I called it the 2015 Pear Awards. You can watch it here:

2015 Pear Awards

Today, I begin following my regular schedule that I tweaked over the last several months. Some new events I will be focusing on today include the return to blogging and updating The Trojanpear facebook and twitter pages, a little morning exercise, and my new emphasis on reading begins tonight with Cop Hater by Ed McBain.

Much more still to come so stay tuned...

Cover Art Finished!

2015-05-01T13:42:00.000-07:00

I am now completely caught up with all cover art updates! I also posted a new video last Wednesday, an old video that I brought back called Trojanpear Reacts To The Ending Of Bunnicula Strikes Again! Here they all are:

Coming Sunday: The long awaited Family Game Night Video from Trojanpear's Sunday School.

Almost Caught Up!

2015-04-21T17:02:00.001-07:00

Last week I worked on Trojanpear's Book Club and Trojanpear Presents cover art. This week I expect to finish most cover art updates and progress forward with videos. I will post a video Wednesday that may be familiar to some as it is a re-upload of a video I posted a few years back. I will then make a slight deviation in my plans as a new subscriber requested more Monster Movie Tournament videos, so I will be posting a new video for that series next. Until then, enjoy all the new cover art:

Cover Art Troubles

2015-04-15T19:34:00.003-07:00

Tuesday, I created 4 new cover art title cards for Trojanpear's Cats, but had truble uploading them to Youtube. The problem is fixed now. Here they are:

I also posted the long awaited video in the Monster Movie Tournament Monday. I enjoyed how things worked out with this video because this video required a lot of work. I will have even more cover art updates to share tomorrow. Until then, here is the new video:

Looking Back In A New Trojanpear's Cats Video

2015-04-09T19:18:00.002-07:00

Tuesday I posted my newest video from Trojanpear's Cats, Coming Home.

This short video, part of my 2 minute series, is a old video I shot back when I received my Flip Camera around the time of the Dope Party video. It was originally part of a series of video shorts I was going to compile as part of a video called "A Night at the Rivercenter" that I never did. I have lost all the other videos except this one. It is not much more than a look at some of the cats who welcome us home. It is nice to see some of the cats like Larry and Eely who passed away.

New cover art updates have been posted. I will blog about it tomorrow.

Monster Movie Tournament Cover Art Updated!

2015-04-07T18:31:00.001-07:00

Yesterday I completed the remaining cover art updates to the Monster Movie Tournament series. Here they are:

I also posted a new video Sunday to my Trojanpear's Sunday School channel. It's a video I made back in December about my future plans for the channel including a detailed look at my vision for our Sunday School group for the new year. The video, titled Vision 2015, was supposed to introduce you to what would be happening in the coming months in the Sunday School including goals for 2015. I did not post the video until now because the plan was not accepted by the group so I felt it was pointless to upload it; however, it is still a good look into yearly planning ideas that you or your church may want to think about implementing in some way. Here is the video:

If you are not subscribed to Trojanpear's Sunday School and you're interested in these church or Bible Study related topics, please subscribe on Youtube to stay informed on upcoming videos. More on the way soon. Blessings.

New Series: Trojanpear's Food Club! First Up: Pizza Hut

2015-04-05T15:49:00.003-07:00

Saturday I posted my first video in the new Trojanpear's Food Club Series: Trojanpear Goes To Pizza Hut. Here is the video.

This new food club series will be posted on Saturdays, either the first or second one of the month, and will explore three different categories:

1. Cooking Series - This will be introduced later in the series. I hope to eventually make this the focus of the series in the future. I will prepare dishes, drinks, desserts, etc. as well as discuss some of the influential cooks of my childhood.

2. Tasting Series - I will occasionally try foods or drinks and give my opinion of them. Some videos would be ranking my favorites in different food and drink categories.

3. Eat Out Series - This is currently what I am working on. I will go to various restaurants and give my opinion of them as well as compare similar establishments.

This video on Pizza Hut is the first on my search for the best pizza in town with the best deal, appearance, etc. I made two videos in this series already, but I will be revisiting these two establishments because I did not go into full detail on which ones were the best based on ALL factors. I think this series has great potential and am looking forward to what is coming in this series.

What do you think about the new series idea?

Trojanpear's Top 10 Videos of 2014 Is Finally Here

2015-04-03T20:04:00.003-07:00

As stated in my opening tag for this video, it's three months late, but better late than never. My annual look back at my favorite videos I created the past year is back for its third year. This may be the best of the three as it is a little more creative and has some great moments to look back on. I encourage you to check these videos out to get an idea of what you are missing. You can find these videos on my Trojanpear Presents playlist. This video does not have a cover art image yet as I am not ready for one on this video yet.

Also, get ready for another video tomorrow as I launch my new series, Trojanpear's Food Club. We'll be "making it great."

New Cover Art From Thursday: Trojanpear Presents

2015-03-28T16:24:00.002-07:00

As promised, here are my new video cover art pictures I made Thursday for my Thursday video series, Trojanpear Presents.

I have now completed all but one of my cover art pictures for Trojanpear Presents and that one video that has not been updated needs other video projects to be finished first. I like all of these, but my favorite has to be the Scarlettpear cover art because of how the background works with the original picture. Which is your favorite?

The Trojanpear Returns!

2015-03-27T12:53:00.000-07:00

I am back and posting new videos again. Here is my first one of 2015: A Message From The Trojanpear.

In this simple 7 minute video, I explain my absence and plans for the future. I will be updating my video cover art as well as moving around some of my videos. This has already begun as I did several cover art updates last night. I will post those updates tomorrow on the blog. I note in the video that I will be updating regularly but was somewhat vague about how often because things change constantly and I did not want to commit myself to something I could not deliver. Let me try to explain my goal:

1. I will be posting in 7 - 9 categories with each playlist assigned to a specific day of the week to be uploaded.

Sunday - Trojanpear's Sunday School, Pajama Preaching (will be posted to either The Trojanpear channel or Trojanpear's Sunday School channel)

Monday - Monster Movie Tournament

Tuesday - Trojanpear's Cats

Wednesday - Trojanpear's Book Club

Thursday - Trojanpear Presents, Those Guys From Another Dimension (will be posted to The Trojanpear, Those Guys From Another Dimension, Squidrift Idunno, or ChillWilliWill's channel)

Friday - The Nintendo Power Adventure

Saturday - Trojanpear's Food Club (New Series of 3 food related programs)

2. I will TRY to upload a video per week with each series having varying timelines.

Monster Movie Tournament, Nintendo Power Adventure - every other month (this means one month will be one series and the next month will be the other series)

Trojanpear's Sunday School, Trojanpear's Book Club, Trojanpear's Food Club - every month

Pajama Preaching, Trojanpear's Cats, Trojanpear Presents - as needed (can be more or less often)

Those Guys From Another Dimension is a series I am not involved in as far as editing and uploading goes, but any special projects that I do will be on a as needed basis. You may see this series weekly, monthly, or not at all for months. I cannot say when they will be posted, but we have 4 episodes recorded that have yet to be uploaded.

I will stop here for now. Tomorrow, I will present the first cover art updates.

The NCAA Tournament Begins Again

2015-03-17T19:29:00.000-07:00

It's that time again. Time to fill out the brackets and watch the NCAA and NIT tournaments. I am hoping I do much better than I did after last year's debacle. It was easily my worst year ever. Maybe this year I will actually do well in the NIT tournament. Already I am 4-1 which is good start. I also got the first NCAA match correct as well. We will see how things play out the rest of the evening. Here are the remaining predictions:

NCAA:

Ole Miss over BYU

NIT:

Texas A&M over Montana
Illinois over Alabama
Stanford over UC Davis
Murray St over UTEP

Hibachiiii!!!!

2015-02-27T18:44:00.001-08:00

My friend Will Burgan, "the master of ceremony" just came back from his business trip the other day, so we went to our favorite lunch place, Hibachi Buffet. You may have seen the video I posted some time ago about our trips to Hibachi. We usually try to go every week and are usually successful. I cannot fully explain why I love it so much except that it is a Chinese buffet which I tend to like anyway, it has a lot of variety in terms of food selection, it is clean and very nice, and it is a reasonable price for what you get. I also have a discount card which I get a free drink every time I go. I also enjoy meeting with ChillWilliWill because we get to discuss a variety of things ranging from what is going on in our lives to church and Bible discussions.
What place do you and your friend go to on a regular basis just to talk and enjoy a good meal?

Interstellar Becomes Early Favorite of Movies in 2015

2015-02-24T19:34:00.000-08:00

Christopher Nolan does it again! He has become one of my favorite directors of the past decade having directed The Dark Knight and Inception, two movies I absolutely love. Now, he has given us another amazing movie, Interstellar. I was not initially interested in this movie because the trailers did not lead me to believe that it could come close to his other great movies; however, after seeing it tonight, I was way off in my opinion. The movie features the earth in a post-apocalyptic setting that that has a 1960's feel to it. A former NASA astronaut turned corn farmer played by Matthew McConaughey is lead to a hidden NASA base from hints provided by a "ghost" in his daughter's room. NASA recruits him for a mission that will send their team though a wormhole near Saturn to find a new planet that the human race can go to. The early scenes build the characters well before the father takes off with his team to find a new planet. The score for the movie is chilling and helps add tension to parts of the movie. Hans Zimmer also knows when to not have any music playing to add to the silent sound in space much like 2001: A Space Odyssey. In fact, this movie has many similarities to 2001 while not being too much like the movie. The thing that stands out most in this movie is the visual effects because you do not realize that there are visual effects in this movie. It is that good. I had to stop and realize that a scene in the movie had to have visual effects because it could not be real, but it looked just like the real thing. There is no wonder why it won the Oscar for Visual Effects.

There is so much I would like to comment on, but like many Christopher Nolan films, there are many surprises in this movie (even if they are easy to figure out). So, I will not mention much more about this movie other than it has one of those big scenes that make you want to see the movie just to see that part of the movie. This is easily my favorite movie of 2015 so far, but it is still early. If you have not seen this movie, you need to see it. If you can, go see it at the theaters before it is gone.

5/5 Stars

Time to Post Again!

2015-02-23T19:47:00.001-08:00

I will be posting more blogs on a regular basis starting with this post today. It is short and to the point and will kick off the new season. I am not posting much because I am so tired now so I will have to stop here for now.

Final Sound Test Video on YouTube

2014-12-04T18:02:00.001-08:00

My five part sound test series from our original recording for the Those Guys From Another Dimension series is now complete. The last video has been posted today on YouTube. I liked how this video has each of us (Me, ChillWilliWill, and Squidrift) at our best after a slow start in the series and certain characters disappearing for long periods of time because of technical issues. This video concludes with Those Guys playing the second mission in Metal Slug as they deal with zombies, monkeys, aliens, and monoliths. The ending also gives us the moment when we realize the video stopped recording which means most if not all of this part was never actually recorded. Shame, because this part would have been the best part to watch if we had recorded it. You can watch the video (or listen rather) below. Enjoy!

More Cover Art Updates For Trojanpear's Sunday School Series

2014-11-30T18:09:00.000-08:00

Today I finished all my cover art updates for the Trojanpear Sunday School series. I will not do a cover art update for my Intro video on Trojanpear's Sunday School; in fact, I may delete that video in the future. I still haven't decided. Anyway, here are my three cover art updates. You can check the videos out on my Trojanpear Youtube page.

Cover Art Updated On Trojanpear's Book Club Videos

2014-11-26T19:17:00.000-08:00

I have finally decided the theme for my Trojanpear's Book Club cover art and posted my first two last week for the Bunnicula Series and The Purpose Driven Life. I hope to be starting my new format to the series soon, but until then I will continue to work on the cover art. Here are the two new postings:

New Cover Art for Three Trojanpear Cats Videos

2014-11-18T17:59:00.000-08:00

I enjoyed how these three new cover art pictures turned out. They are for Dope Party, Snow Day, and Dope Party 2. There are 7 more videos for Trojanpear's Cats still to be updated. You can check these videos out and more on my Youtube channel, The Trojanpear.

The Fair!

2014-10-23T18:02:00.002-07:00

Sorry, I forgot to post about the fair activity that I went to with our group Tuesday. The fair (which is really a carnival) was my first one I have been to in many years. There were many challenges leading up to the fair, but when it was actually time to go, it was a perfect storm of events that occurred that made it a very enjoyable experience. First, it had raid earlier that day, but was dry by the time we got there. The weather also brought a cold front which provided that perfect fall atmosphere. There also was very few people there that night which meant no standing in lines or long waits. We had food, went on rides, and even played skee-ball which Melanie ended up winning a prize! I did not sample as much food as I wanted, but I tried several things like: fries, nachos, cotton candy, and funnel cake. The nachos stood out to me because I am not normally a fan of nachos, but these were really good. Here are some pictures and a video of Melanie on one of the rides.

More stuff coming soon!

Working on Videos and A Cookout!

2014-10-12T18:34:00.002-07:00

Sunday is my day to focus on my other channel Trojanpear's Sunday School. I have been working on transferring my series Pajama Preaching to the channel and today I just reposted it with its new cover art. Check it out:

I love this cover art with the piles of pajamas in the background that have been colorized, the cat holding the Bible, and the featured video picture which has our cat Lovie who passed away in April this year. The video is, in my opinion, not as good as the first since I laid my notes on the bed and would often look down which was not as noticeable in the first video. I also made reference that I was in Matthew 6 when it was obviously chapter 5. I did enjoy seeing the cats more in the video though.

I also started my Trojanpear's Sunday School playlist on The Trojanpear channel today by adding The Master of Ceremony Trilogy which is a series that related to my Sunday School channel. This playlist much like the Those Guys playlist serves as a way to introduce the other channels I have.

Before doing all this, I began my Sunday as I usually do by going to worship at Waldrop. The morning ended with a special Columbus Day weekend Cookout held by our group. We had 10 people show up which is about our group's average size.

The fun doesn't end with our group either. We are going to have another fellowship on Tuesday when we spend A Night at the Fair. What are you planning to do for Columbus Day? Picnic? Sleep? Maybe your one who still has to work and did something special for the weekend. In whatever you do, I look forward to your comments and wish you blessings.
