So yesterday night I was lucky enough to attend Sneaker Pimps, up in north Miami. I had heard about this event a few weeks back, and I've been planning this for a long time, and finally the time came. The minute I heard that The Cool Kids were performing, I was as giddy as a little school girl. Anyway, we rolled up around 8ish after fighting with the parking machine for about 20 minutes. It was a cover charge of 20 bucks, which wasn't too bad. Obviously, the first thing you see when you walk in is all the sneakers on display on the walls, as well as a load of people carrying up to 5 pairs of shoes, trying to trade and sell them. I love sneakers, but I'm not into them enough to pay over 80 bucks for a pair of dunks, let alone over a grand for a pair of shoes that Kanye designed. Fuck that (pardon my language). Me and my group as well as a lot of other people were able to obtain some Cool Kids meet and greet passes, which I really didn't think we needed because people without passes were getting autographs and taking pictures with them just like we were...regardless I got a pic with Mikey, and I got both of their signatures. They're definitely some cool kids (no pun intended). After the meet and greet, Mikey and Chuck finally got on stage. Lemme tell you something, The Cool Kids know how to rock their set. I loved it. Anyway, to wrap it all up, I haven't felt this kinda vibe in a while (since RTB last year). There were so many people there that showed interest in what I love; the Hip Hop culture. Hip Hop heads, sneaker buffs, graff writers, B-boys, you name it they were there. This was definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had, right up there next to Rock The Bells, and I hope to have many more of these experiences in the future.
