When a child goes missing has a recap of 2008 unresolved missing children cases. The blog lists the names of some missing children and provides links to pages regarding their disappearances.

A short update on Las Vegas and the Mob, Larry Neumann may officially be credited with two more murders, is about former mobster Larry Newmann. He is believed to have been responsible for two murders that took place over 27 years ago.

The Criminal Report Daily blogger David Lohr has posted a new article entitled More Questions Than Answers in the Adam Hernandez Case. Adam Hernandez disappeared about 10 years ago and was only reported missing in the last few weeks. His adoptive parents are now considered persons of interest and a search of their house was preformed. Unfortunately, investigators believe that Adam is probably dead.

Spring break is approaching and Michelle Says So hosts a new blog entitled Gone but not Forgotten: Rebecca Middleton and Bermuda. The blog has some facts about the rising Bermuda crime rate, tips on how to stay safe and the personal stories of two victims who visited the island.

Crime, Interrupted hosts a new article entitled Sticks and Stones. Tami writes that a 15-year-old insulted a group of girls by calling them "scraps" which lead to the young women assaulting her. After the beating, where the victim sustained several injuries including a broken nose, the criminals posted a video of the crime on YouTube.

Adam Joseph Herrman was recently reported missing. However, he disappeared over 9 years ago. When a child goes missing writes Child missing nine years reported in Ks. Herrman and his younger siblings were adopted when he was a toddler. When the boy was around 11-12 he disappeared and his parents told friends and relatives that the state had taken him back or that he ran away.

Parents Behaving Badly reports Woman lets violent boyfriend beat baby to death. Phoebe Copeland, 39, was arrested along with her 20-year-old boyfriend after he fractured the 5-week-old child's skull. He claimed that he assaulted the baby because it would not stop crying. Copeland's boyfriend had been previously arrested for domestic violence against her.

Check out In Cold Blog for the newest installment of The Last Dance for Grace. Part II is a summary of the first chapter which was written by the editor of the book, Vincent Clark. Thankfully, he realizes that none of the readers can think for themselves and he tells them exactly what they're going to think about the book.

Yet another exciting week in true crime. Did everyone have a nice Christmas?

It seems that Casey Anthony's "It was the babysitter!" defense has caught on. When a child goes missing has posted a new article entitled Another Nanny in FL. 22-year-old Megan McCormic told police that her babysitter, a woman named Camille, had kidnapped her 6-month-old son. However, the entire story was a lie and she doesn't even have a child. She is going to be charged with filing a false police report.

Meanwhile on Parents Behaving Badly, a blog always filled with lots of Christmas cheer, is a new article entitled Merry Christmas son, you're dead. Eryn Allegra suffocated her 8-year-old son, claiming that she didn't want to leave her baby alone when she committed suicide. She attempted to slit her wrists with a razor, however the razor was too dull and she eventually called the police.

December 27th -- Police arrest teen in brutal slaying is a new post on The Murder Book 2008. Blogger Paul LaRosa writes that Sharell Butler, 15, was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of John Hopkins-Drago, 22, who was discovered on December 22nd. Hopkins-Drago had been stabbed about 40 to 50 times.

David Lohr posts a new entry on The Criminal Report Daily entitled All that glitters is not gold in true crime. He writes about the misconception that suicide rates go up during the holidays (they actually go up during the spring and summer). Lohr then remembers two suicides. That of Stephanie Gestier and Jodie Gater, two 16 year old Australian girls. They committed suicide together after they were repeatedly bullied and harassed at school.

Michelle, writer of the Michelle Says So blog, has posted a new article on NowPublic.com entitled Most "Fascinating" Sociopaths of 2008. The prestigious awards go to Joran van der Sloot, Drew Peterson, OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony and Gary Michael Hilton.

David Lohr's Criminal Report Daily also hosts a list. Entitled Top 10 Crime Stories of 2008, the article is a look back at some of the most intriguing cases of the year. The disappearance of Caylee Anthony is number one. The article also provides readers with a feedback section where they can vote for their own top ten.

Crime, Interrupted features a new blog, Psst... She's Not There. She writes that Checkie Hessel went to pick up her four year old daughter at the day care center that she attends only to find that she was not there. Where did she go?

Crime Rant has updated (yay!) with a new article, Caylee Anthony: Did they find you?. The bloggers ponder whether the small body found in Florida is the remains of little Caylee Anthony.

When a child goes missing reports (in case you didn't already know) Remains found near Anthony home. The body of a small child was discovered by a utility worker within a half mile of Casey's parent's house. The body is currently being DNA tested to see if it is in fact Caylee Anthony. The post includes a video.

The Criminal Report Daily with David Lohr features a press release regarding missing mother of two, Kelly Morris. The post, titled Please help find Kelly Morris, lists the circumstances surrounding her disappearance as well as information about how to join the volunteer search.

Another example of Parents Behaving Badly, a Phoenix woman smothered her baby. Elizabeth Ortiz alleges that she fell asleep on the couch and accidentally smothered her 7-month-old son. After calling the paramedics Ortiz fled the scene, but when she returned she told authorities that she had substance abuse issues and that might have contributed to the death.

On Bunker Hill features a new post entitled Fry Cook Killer. Frank Lindsay, the killer in question, murdered his wife after an argument. He then ran from the law with his 11-year-old foster daughter in tow. While he was evading police he also kidnapped a 12-year-old girl. He was finally apprehended and convicted of his wife's murder. He was sentenced to 65 years in Walla Walla Prison.

Michelle of the Michelle Says So blog posted a new article entitled Study: 1 million sex crimes by illegals. Michelle writes that sexual assaults, child molestation and sexually motivated homicides are perpetrated by illegal immigrants at a slightly higher rate than the legal population. Additionally, 35% of the victims were children and many others had physical or mental disabilities.

A small update on the Criminal Report Daily, David Lohr writes No death penalty for Casey Anthony. Anthony is being charged with the first degree murder of her daughter, Caylee. Her trial will start in January.

Meanwhile, When a child goes missing has their own question about the Caylee Anthony case. They are wondering Whose best interest? The short post also contains a video clip from the Associated Press showing Casey talking to her parents and to her brother about her missing child.

A disturbing post on Parents Behaving Badly, Jailers get no jail, states that Teresa and Jay Moody will only face two years probation and no longer be allowed to be foster parents. In 2005 the couple was accused of child abuse after two children were removed from their custody. The kids had been locked in a cage in a horse stall and had also been refused food as a punishment.

A short post on In Cold Blog, Dicks in Prison, features a clip from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Vice-president (soon to be former vice-president) Dick Cheney was indicted due to questions about his "prison related" businesses. However, the truth isn't exactly as exciting as Stewart had hoped. Cheney invested in a company that invested in another company that runs prisons where there was inmate abuse allegedly taking place.

OMG, Parents Behaving Badly finally updated! One of their new posts, Casey Anthony sues fake babysitter, is another piece of the bizarre Caylee Anthony disappearance puzzle. Anthony continued to accuse Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez of abducting her daughter even after her entire story fell apart. Now, a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation of character. However, Casey's lawyer claims that the lawsuit is a publicity stunt and states that there are 20 listings under the name Zenaida Gonzalez in the area.

Meanwhile, over at the Criminal Report Daily, blogger David Lohr has published a new post, Mark NeJame Press Release. Mark NeJame had been representing Casey Anthony's grandparents, Cindy and George, but he has now resigned his position. He stated that only one person really knows what happened to Caylee and that person is her mother. At the end he adds "There should only be one goal and that is to find Caylee Marie Anthony."

Paul LaRosa, who recently produced a new episode of 48 Hours Mystery, features a new post on Murder Book 2008. November 21st & 22nd -- 1 dead in the Bronx, husband allegedly stabs wife.... A 49 year old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband following an argument. In another report, Barbara Kogan, the widow of a former millionaire was indicted for the assassination of her husband. A week before the crime she called the insurance company to make sure that she was the sole beneficiary on his 4 million dollar policy.

The Malefactor's Register features a new post this week entitled A Family from Hell. Rachel Hudson was a 20-year-old mother of two when her body was found on the property of an abbey, wrapped in a carpet. She had been beaten so badly for such a prolonged period of time that those who discovered her believed her to be a Chinese boy. Her attackers were none other than her husband and her in-laws. Although the family tried to say that she had murdered during a black-out rage in order to get an insanity plea, police were able to establish that this was not a crime caused by a momentary loss of sanity.

Kara Kopetsky disappeared from her high school in May 2007. When a child goes missing reports; Kara Kopetsky reward increases by $50,000. There is a time limit and conditions state that she must be returned alive, as it is believed that she still is living. With the new donation of $50,000 Kopetsky's reward now totals $130,000.

Michelle Says So features a new article entitled Latasha Norman -- Gone but not forgotten. It's the one year anniversary of the day that college student Latasha Norman disappeared. Her body was found two weeks later, her ex-boyfriend was charged with her murder. Latasha's family remains positive, stating "God used Latasha's life to shine the light on domestic violence. He used one to save many. We don't understand God's way, but we've accepted it. It's a bitter cup, but it's part of our healing."

After reading about Crystal Mangum's new book about her claims that she was raped by the three Duke lacrosse players I finally decided to see what the fuss was all about. It was interesting to say the least. I would really like to do a longer post on the book, as I barely touched on a lot of topics that I'd like to elaborate on. Maybe in the future.

TCB special edition: crime posts that were posted on my birthday (September 5th). Yes, I'm bored and a lot of people haven't updated recently.

An older post on Crime, Interrupted features information regarding Christoper Coan, an 18-year-old boy that disappeared from Utah. The Mysterious Disappearance of Christopher Coan contains his physical description along. He was last seen leaving his place of work and his family is still looking for him. Since he was 18 at the time that he disappeared he is considered an adult and as a result the FBI wouldn't search for him. However, Coan's parents don't believe that their son would simply pick up and leave. They have set up a Myspace page for him where they encourage anyone with information regarding his disappearance to come forward.

Over at Parents Behaving Badly the title of this article, Jackie Williams, 37, gets life for pimping out her pre-teen daughters to her boyfriend, really says it all. In edition to the abuse Williams and her boyfriend, Jones, kept a journal of these sex crimes. Williams will be 77 before she gets the possibility of parole.

When a child goes missing promotes an episode of 20/20 that features Caylee Anthony and Randi Gorenberg, Nancy Bochicchio and her daughter Joey. The post, entitled ABC 20/20 Friday night, lists the features and also notes the absence of information regarding the missing child, Giovanni Gonzalez.

Screwing Anna Nicole one last time is a subtle title for a post on Crime Rant featuring the now deceased Anna Nicole Smith. After her death Rita Cosby released a book entitled Blonde Ambition, which was supposed to be an expose on the Playboy model's life but in reality is just cashing in. Cosby also went on Bill O'Reilly in order to promote the book. Which seems odd. Even for O'Reilly.

Michelle, of the Michelle Says So blog, writes Molly Dattilo case now a homicide investigation. Molly Dattilo disappeared in July 2004. John E. Shelton, currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, stated that he has information concerning her disappearance and offered it in exchange for a plea deal. Dattilo's family is still offering a reward for information about her. The blog includes a comprehensive biography, pyshical description and information about her last known whereabouts.

In Cold Blog hosts a new post by Michelle McKee entitled Eastwood's "Changeling" not much truth in this true crime. Michelle reviews the new film and the background that goes with the story. Unfortunately, Michelle finds that it doesn't follow the facts that it's supposed to be about and even as a creative piece, drags on.

When a child goes missing reports that there is a New Jaliek Rainwalker billboard on display. Jaliek Rainwalker went missing exactly a year ago and his adopted family still hopes that someone will come forward with information about him. Rainwalker is now 13 year old.

True Crimes features a new radio show interview with Investigation Discovery's David Lohr. You can listen to the show on instant replay as well as their previous shows.

Update in the case of Dr. Peter Normann is a new post on Crime, Interrupted. After 3 of Dr. Normann's patients died and 2 families filed lawsuits, Normann disappeared. The doctor, who performed liposuction procedures on the 3 patients that died, was apprehended at an international airport and has been indicted on two counts of second degree murder and one count of manslaughter.

American Idol never gets old and neither does Crime Rant's article, American Idol Chatter, Slammer-style. Amazingly enough, the crime ranters correctly deduced that Clay Aiken is in fact gay. Other Idol contestants were discovered to have had run ins with the law, ranging from Corey Clark's claims that he had had an affair with Paula to the uppity Brittenum Twins and their charges of forgery, theft by deception, and financial identity fraud.

The Michelle Says So blog features a new article entitled Mother of the Year -- Amy Marie Reed. Reed was charged with multiple offenses after her children were discovered to have ingested drugs. The 26 year old mother, who has two children and is pregnant with her third child, admitted to using marijuana. Her youngest child, 1, had ingested cocaine and meth. If found guilty she could face up to 35 years in prison.

There has been an AMBER alert issue filed for missing Chicago child. When a child goes missing reports that Julian King is missing after his father and grandmother were found shot to death. King is the nephew of singer and Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson. His vital statistics are as follows:

A quick update on the Caylee Anthony case; David Lohr writes in his blog, Breaking News: Caylee Anthony Search Set to Resume, that Texas Equusearch has decided to continue looking for the missing 2 year old. Meanwhile, Casey Anthony, the girl's mother, has been charged with first degree murder and six other counts. You can also read her indictment on the Criminal Report Daily.

The Malefactor's Register posts a short entry regarding the execution of Robert Cooey. The aptly titled post, Cooey is dead, states that Cooey died on October 10 at 10:30AM. The convicted murderer and rapist argued that he was so obese that it would be difficult to find a vein in order to administer the lethal injection.

Mysterious death of Dorothy Kilgallin to hit book, screen is a new post on Corey Mitchell's Blood of the Scribe. Dorothy Kilgallin was a true crime reporter who mysteriously died. She had just submitted a book she wrote about the death of a friend when she died. Paul Alexander wrote both a book and now a screenplay about the life and death of Kilgallin.

When a child disappears features a new post entitled "AMBER alert for missing Las Vegas child." Cole Puffinburger was abducted from his home after two suspects allegedly gained access to the apartment and started looking for money. There are currently 3 descriptions of Hispanic suspects.

It's been a busy week and our bloggers are there to capture it all.

Haters in The Times is a new post on Laura James' blog, CLEWS. She writes that The New York Times has criticized the genre of true crime writing and even a true crime author, Kate Summerscale, has gone as far as to call the genre "sleazy" and state that it will prey on "suffering and ... their readers' darkest fantasies." Although, after the author spoke up about the entire genre, she then goes on to talk about her true crime publication, The Suspicions of Mr. Wicher.

Some good news over at Crime, Interrupted; Missing: Anna Carver found! Carver vanished from her Arizona home on Sept 29th. She returned home, unharmed, a few days later. There weren't any reasons given for her disappearance.

When a child goes missing features a new post entitled No ID Required. The article references two instances where kidnappers were able to transport their victims using Greyhound buses. The mother of a young girl that disappeared would like for buses to require picture IDs for all passengers.

October 4th -- 2 murders and 2 women killed after being hit by 2 cabs in East village is the latest installment in Paul LaRosa's Murder Book 2008. Two women, Stephanie Dees and Ann Sullivan, were struck by one cab, then propelled into the opposite side of the street where they were struck by another cab. One woman died on the scene while the other was declared dead at a nearby hospital. Two men were also murdered. One was shot in the chest in front of a building, the other was found strangled and presumably robbed.

Thanks for the comments last week! I love getting comments. ^_^ Anyway, in answer to Missy's question, I think that Jack the Ripper will always be a mystery. In a way, that's part of what distinguishes it from other murders in that time. Since it's unsolved there can be debate over theories and suspects. Seeing as it was so long ago and no one who was directly impacted by the murders is still alive then solving it would be like a magician showing you how you do a trick. The mystique is more interesting.

Another development in the Casey Anthony case, David Lohr posts a new blog Listen to the Newly Released Casey Anthony Case. In these tapes several people who are close to Casey, including her bother and her ex-fiance, are interviewed about the disappearance of 3-year-old Caylee.

Corey Mitchell posts some excepts from a Washington Post review of Howard Blum's American Lightening. The Blood of the Scribe post entitled WaPo Not too kind to American Lightening lists several comments made by the reviewer including "hack journalism" and "writing so overheatedly that the reader's eyes are scorched."

Nathan Hale + M. William Phelps = A Winning New Book is a new post on Crime Rant. That's right, a new Crime Rant post. Please keep posting, Crime Rant. Anyway, Phelps has just released a book entitled Nathan Hale: The Life and Death of America's First Spy. The subject of the book is a little known person who is most famous for his dying words, "My only regret is that I have but one life to give to my country."

Star's pick of the week

True Crimes hosts an intriguing new broadcast with special guest Fred Rosen. Dead Body in Palin's Mayoral Closet takes a look at true crime writing and an ongoing murder investigation surrounding vice president nominee Sarah Palin. Barer and Woldman roast Rosen like a "Kenny Rogers chicken."

Apologizes to Burl Barer for turning him into Bill Burl last week. I have no idea where that came from. It's an example of me typing faster than I think. Sorry!

This week on In Cold Blog blogger Andy Kahan notes his disappointment with The Houston Chronicle in his new blog, Full Disclosure -- Fat Chance. He criticizes the newspaper for leaving out the relevant criminal history of people recently accused of crimes. He writes that both Corey Burist and Craig Caudill had previous run-ins with the law, however this information is not mentioned.

When a child goes missing features a new post entitled Austin City Limits. Craig's List, a website for classified ads, including personal add, is now believed to be the site where a Texas teenager meet a 33 year old man who was eventually charged with kidnapping her.

Crime, Interrupted is following The Murder Trial of Galareka Harrison. Harrison was charged with the murder of her roommate, Mia Henderson, after she was found stabbed to death in her dorm room. Both were students of the University of Arizona at the time. A.J. Flick, a friend of Tami's and a reporter for the Tucson Citizen, will be covering the case in depth.

Star's post of the week

Berry Bad Girls is an older post by author Gregg Olsen on Crime Rant. Over a year ago two female students decided that they didn't want to go attend a class so badly that they poisoned the teacher. The girls knew that the teacher was severely allergic to strawberries so they applied strawberry lip gloss to her coffee cup and water bottle, making her extremely ill. The girls were charged with assault in the second degree.

TCB has added a new website to the Blogroll. Welcome to True Crimes with Burl Barer and Don Woldman!

Andrew Webb, a convicted killer and the subject of Burl Barer's true crime book Head Shot, decided to attend his high school reunion. Webb was sent to prison due to a double homicide. Burl notes in his blog, Killer attends High School reunion, that Webb considered a model prisoner during his time in jail although it's going to be rather awkward when someone asks him what he's been doing since he graduated.

Senator John Edwards is the inspiration for the entry Marriage Y2K compatible? posted on the Michelle Says So blog. Michelle ponders if marriage really means "until death do we part." She also notes that some people refuse to make the distinction between a politician's personal life and their professional life.

A new post on Crime, Interrupted is Cold Case: Anna Palmer. Palmer, a ten-year-old girl, was found stabbed to death on her front porch over a decade ago. The girl's body was found by her mother at 7:30pm. It's believed that she had been dead for approximately a half hour. Blogger Tami hopes that someone will come forward with some information regarding this case.

Money and missing children is a new post on When a child goes missing. It is believed that ABC spent $200,000 on the video footage of Caylee Anthony's birthday party. The question is whether the this airing was meant to help find a missing child or simply for profit.

Star's pick of the week

I am so hooked on The Criminal Report Daily's news posts about the Caylee Anthony case. David Lohr's latest post is Listen to Casey Anthony's Police Interrogation. The post contains two full length audio clips of Casey's statements (you know, the ones that turned out to be completely untrue). Another interesting post is Criminal Profiler says that Casey Anthony is "Punishing Everyone". Dr. Deborah Schurman-Kauflin gives some incite into Casey's motives and why she refuses to cooperate with the authorities.

Just for the record, you can't use the word "fark" while playing Scrabble. I tried.

The 1947 Project features a recent post, The Girl Who Knew the Numbers. In 1929 a young woman named Shirley Winters was arrested on charges suspicion of conspiracy to violate the Volstead Act after she was caught trying to sell hooch over the telephone. Two detectives overheard her and found out that she was able to fill all her orders after memorizing the names of the clients as well as their addresses.

Jules Hammer adds Part 3 to Jazzi-Jet on pridesites (Jules recommends that you read Part 1 and Part 2 first) to her blog The Cellar. The entry is another pictorial of Joseph E. Duncan's personal photos. For the benefit of users who didn't heed the Not Safe For Work warning on the previous posts before scrolling down, the actual photos are on a separate page. The post has already had a flurry of comments. Here's a short passage from my favorite "-you are ALL sick who come here to this site and actually stay and view-" The poster, Sylvia in Iowa, doesn't explain why she's viewing the website that she claims is glamorizing sin.

September 4th -- 5 dead in separate incidents is a new entry on The Murder Book 2008. Paul LaRosa lists the five murders, all of which are very different. There have been no arrests made in four of the murders. Meanwhile there is a suspect in the killing of a 66-year-old man who was found unconscious and later died at the hospital.

Star's pick of the week

David Lohr of The Criminal Report Daily has joined the search in Florida, looking for missing toddler, Caylee Anthony. Anthony family has allegedly been uncooperative by refusing to provide search dogs with an item that has Caylee's scent on it. Meanwhile, the search has drawn more volunteers to continue looking for the 3-year-old.

CLEWS features a new book written about the infamous killers, Leopold & Loeb. In her post, The lastest look at Leopold and Loeb, and an old one, Laura James reports that the book, For the thrill of it: Leopold and Loeb and the murder that shocked Chicago, was called "altogether absorbing," by the New York Times.

David Lohr writes on The Criminal Report Daily that Casey Anthony is back in the slammer. Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla decided not to revoke her bond (he later changed his mind), then Anthony was arrested on charges of uttering a forged instrument, fraudulent use of personal information and petty theft. Back in July Anthony is accused of stealing about $750 dollars and spending it in stores such as Target and Winn-Dixie. Anthony is expected to be released soon.

Guilty plea in the Ariana and Tyler Payne case is a new post on Crime, Interrupted which relates to the death of the two children. Their father, Chris Payne, has been accused of first degree murder. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Reina Gonzales has entered a plea of guilty in two second degree murder charges. Gonzales admits in videotaped testimony that her boyfriend had locked Ariana in a closet for over two months until she starved to death then Chris beat his son with a belt, giving him a headwound which soon became infected. After this the father locked his injured son in the closet with his dead sister and waited until he expired as well. She states that she did absoultely nothing to help Tyler and Ariana.

Erin Morarity wrote the latest post on In Cold Blog. The post, The case of Rachel Mullenix, is a puzzling look at the girl accused of playing a part in her mother's murder back in 2006. Rachel claims that her boyfriend, Ian Allen, committed the crime. Allen also atests to this. Whether or not Rachel actually weilded the butter knife is unknown. However, the 17-year-old assisted Allen in removing her mother's body, cleaning up the apartment and later sending her boyfriend a text message reading "I love you" before running off to Lousiana with him. The motive is not apparent.

Another case of a child that was never found is on, When a child goes missing. The post, Trenton Duckett missing for two years, gives a description of the boy who disappeared on August 27, 2006. The child's mother, Melinda Duckett, was suspected to be involved. After Melinda was interviewed on Nancy Grace's TV show she committed suicide. Most believe that it was due to Grace's interviewing tactits. Melinda agreed to go on the show in order to help find her son when Grace started grilling her on his whereabouts and bringing up inconsistancies in what she told authorities.

Boys (and men) do cry: Teena Brandon case revisited is an article on Crime Rant about the continued delay in the executions of one of the two men convicted of murdering a transgender person named Teena Brandon as well as two other people. John Lotter is now waiting to hear, not when he dies, but how he dies. Nebraska has decided that electrocution is "cruel and unusual" and are looking for an alternative means. There is an online petition entitled Save John Lotter from the electric chair.

A new entry on The Murder Book 2008 entitled Autopsy finds 2-year-old victim of battered child syndrome. Jashya Brown was found dead earlier this week. The suspects are the child's mother, who was previously accused of a similar crime, and Daquean Williams, a man who lived in the house and was believed to have been baby-sitting the youngster when she was found dead.

Parents Behaving Badly reports Child killer now a dad. Robert Thompson, along with Jon Venables, was convicted of abducting and murdering 2-year-old James Bulger over a decade ago. Both accused murderers were released and now live under assumed names. It came to light in early 2006 that Thompson, then 23, fathered a child with his girlfriend. It is believed that Thompson grew up in an abusive home and completed the circle of violence when he murdered Bulger. One wonders if the circle has really been broken.

A Sarcastic Crime Radio update on the Bigfoot mystery, Bigfoot 'corpse' had a rubber foot; Finders "admitted it was a costume," Says 'Squatch Detective' Host. Last week David Lohr reported on the result of the DNA testing on the beast, which turned out to be possum. After Bigfoot was examined it became apparent that this was not a prehistoric ape like creature, it was roadkill stuffed into a rubber suit. The pranksters, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, eventually fessed up.

Jules Hammer and her blog The Cellar feature a new post entitled Jazzi-Jet on Pridesites, Part 2 (note: Jules ask you to read Part 1 first). The post features more of accused killer Joseph E. Duncan's disturbing, retina burning, vomit causing photographs. And Duncan has a lot more in his Cellar.

Today's Atrocities has posted a full missing persons report on the 3-year-old Caylee Anthony who vanished several months ago. The post, Caylee Anthony - An accurate missing persons filer, lists Caylee's vital statistics and brief summary of when she was last seen. Photos of Caylee, her mother Casey (who is a person of interest in this case), and Casey's car are also featured.

Star's pick of the week

Michelle Simonsen, writer of the Michelle Says So blog, guest blogs on The Criminal Report Daily. Her post, Toto, I don't think we're in Kanas anymore, tells the story of one woman who went to Cancun to relax and ended up being raped and almost beaten to death. Rebecca Sinnott, 38, raced back to the US after the attack with wounds so severe the air pressure on flight back could have crushed her skull. Sinnott's case remains open, but since then Sinnott has become a passionate advocate for women who have been assaulted while in Mexico as well as the administration that negligently tried to cover the incident up.

New week, new crimes, new blogs.

A new blog on CLEWS features links and short summaries of three new crime books. The guillotine's final bite and more new books lists upcoming true crime books including When the Guillotine Fell: The Bloody Beginning and Horrifying End to France's River of Blood, 1791-1977, No Choirboys, a book about teenagers on death row told through their own words, and the first book about Drew Peterson, Fatal Vows.

According to Crime, Interrupted blogger Tami, Robert Craft has a bad temper. Robert Craft, a man who, let's face it, looks like a serial killer, was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly attempting to harm his family. His stepson intervened after Craft allegedly struck his 11 year old daughter. Furious, Craft attempted to attack his family with a chainsaw and later, a weed whacker. After he couldn't get
his tools to work he tried to run over the family with his car.

A short update on the Malefactor's Register, Mark Gribben wants you to know that he's Not Dead and will resume writing articles soon.

Fist pounding 101, a new blog on When a child goes missing, gives an update on the case of Melinda Duckett, who shot herself after being interviewed for Nancy Grace's show. Duckett's parents, the grandparents of Melinda's missing son, Trenton, are suing Nancy Grace (the Sylvia Browne of true crime journalism) as well as CNN, citing that Grace's harsh interviewing techniques may have been a factor in her suicide.

Star's pick of the week

It's a sad day for Bigfoot hunters everywhere. Discovery blogger David Lohr has published a new blog entitled Read the Alleged Bigfoot DNA Email.

The e-mail was sent from Curt Nelson, a professor of biology, to Tom Biscardi the CEO Searching for Bigfoot, Inc. I won't get into the explanation for how the experiment was conducted, mostly because I don't understand it, but in the end Nelson reported that from the three samples of DNA, one was human, one couldn't be determined due to a technical issue and the last one was from a possum (they're so cute!). Lohr's blog also has two photos that were released at the press conference.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

An older post on The True Crime Weblog gives a brief recognition to the death of John List, a man accused of slaughtering his entire family. The post, John List dies at 82, states that List was convicted of murdering his mother, wife and their three children. After the deaths List vanished and managed to evade police for 18 years. He was eventually caught and found guilty.

The Door Busters of Olive Street is a new entry on Bunker Hill. Thomas Brown broke into the rooming house that he had been banned from, seeking revenge. However, Della Davis, the owner of the building was ready for him and shot him three times, grazing his chin and hitting him in the shoulder and chest. Davis stated that she shot him, added that she had no regrets about doing it.

As the title of a new post on Today's Atrocities states; Suspect arrested in swimmer killings. Scott Johnson is accused of opening fire at a group swimming in a river, killing three of them and wounding another. He has not been formally charged and there is no apparently motive for the shootings.

A disturbing post on The Criminal Report Daily, Necrophiliac might have violated other corpses, is about the exoneration of a murderer and the conviction of a necrophiliac. David Lohr writes that David Steffen was convicted of murdering and raping 19 year old Karen Range in 1982. However, there now is another man suspected of raping Range. Kenneth Douglas was employed at the morgue where Range's body was taken and allegedly admitted to having sex with her corpse before the body was autopsied.

Lou Pearlman Picked the wrong day to manage boybands. Over at Hollywood on Trial, blogger Corey Mitchell writes that Pearlman, the brains behind *N SYNC and the Backstreet Boys, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy, one count of money laundering and one count of bank fraud. It must have tore up his heart to
have finally been caught laundering the larger than life sum of over $300 million dollars. Now he can say bye, bye, bye to his freedom as he could receive a jail sentence of up to 25 years.

It's finally August, summer is almost over and the blogs keep coming.

A recently post on Corey Mitchell's Blood of the Scribe features a Publisher's Weekly book review of Matthew Randazzo V's new book Ring of Hell: the story of Chris Benoit and the fall of the pro wrestling industry. Publisher's Weekly not too impressed with Matthew Randazzo's book on wrestler Chris Benoit complains that the book is not so much about Benoit, but about the entire industry and will disappoint the reader who wants to read about the wrestler's murder/suicide.

One of CLEWS' new articles Fictionalists and talking heads have serial killers all wrong introduces some information from the FBI's report on serial murders. They state that the stereotype of the serial killer (a white, male, super intelligent, loner) is not always accurate. The report chastises the self-proclaimed authorities who appear on TV giving their opinions about cases that they are not involved in.

In an update from The Criminal Report Daily, David Lohr reveals in his article, Test Results Due back in Casey Anthony case, that the DNA test results of evidence that was recovered from Casey Anthony's car will be ready next week. Corporal Yuri Melich stated that he believed the stench in the trunk of Anthony's car
was due to the decomposition of a body. Investigation Discovery has full coverage of the Casey Anthony case.

When a child goes missing also writes about the Casey Anthony case, featuring an article entitled Scheduled Benefit. The benefit is to raise money to help find missing Caylee. If Caylee is found before the benefit begins, the family plans on going ahead with the event and donating the money to the Kid Finder's Network. They write that unless more charges are filed against the child's mother, she could go free.

August 2 -- 2 dead in drug sale gone bad... is a new entry on The Murder Book 2008. Paul LaRosa writes that Darren Lynch is accused of murdering and disposing of the bodies of Joseph Odierno, 35, and Jairo Santos, 22. The reason for this alleged killing was because Odierno and Santos allegedly sold Lynch a mixture of baking soda and sugar when he had paid them $20,000 for cocaine.

Star's pick of the week

Crime, Interrupted reports on a story about Christoper Morgen Taylor: he did it all for the nookie. Taylor didn't understand the meaning of the word "no" and when his girlfriend refused to have sex with him, he allegedly decided to try to persuade her by using a stun gun. He was charged with sexual battery and unlawful use of the gun. The moral of this story; If your hand can hold a stun gun, then it can do some other things too.

Special edition: oldies but goodies

An older post on Parents Behaving Badly is about a father who takes punishment a little to far. The story, Dad arrested for beating son for bad grades, tells how Kevin Randy Legendre was taken into custody after finding out that his 7 year old son had gotten a bad grade in school and allegedly threw him against a table and beat him with a belt. The boy told his mother about the abuse and she immediately went to the police. Good to know that only one parent was behaving badly.

Back in February Today's Atrocities posted a story about a father murdering his 14 year old daughter... over a text message. Cops: dad killed daughter after she text-messaged a boy, states that the father burned her body and stuff it into a boiler tank. The father then called the police and told them what happened.

Attention Christina Szele: Here's your sign is an older post on Crime, Interrupted is about a woman who was finally baned from flying. Her outburst on a JetBlue airplane caused the plane to be diverted to Denver International. She claim that it was the stewardess' fault because they served her alcohol. She had incidences of this nature previous to the flight. I wonder if this is where Naomi Campbell got the idea.

Meanwhile, Crime Rant *Sob!* I still haven't gotten over the news that they're closing the site, features a post entitled Paging Dr. Phil: you're in trouble, big guy. Dr. Phil, being the smug publicity whore that he is, decided to go visit Britney Spears when she was hospitalized despite the fact that he didn't have a license to practice psychology in California. The state's board of psychology filed a complaint. Can someone tell me, why does anyone listen to Dr. Phil?

True crime news: one way to make sure that you'll have nothing to say during polite dinner conversations.

When a child goes missing features a new article, entitled Missing Orange County FL child, about Casey Anthony's missing child, Caylee. The two year old girl had been missing for five weeks before Anthony alerted the authorities. Since then, Anthony's story is said to have changed several times. Caylee's grandmother has stated "I feel the more media exposure we have, the quicker we can bring Caylee home-"

This week Michelle from the Michelle Says So blog questions what is causing the rise of physical violence between teens and why these teens are posting their abhorrent activities on the internet. Her post, More teen beatings on YouTube! an epidemic?, references several cases where videos have surfaced where young women beat up their peers. Is it society? Bad parenting? Attention seeking children? Or something else?

Blood of the Scribe's latest post is a petition. Petition to move forward with the execution of Joseph Medellin calls for concerned citizens to add their names to the list of people who are against Joseph Medellin receiving clemency for the kidnapping, gang rape and murder of two teenage girls in 1993. This case is the subject of Corey Mitchell's new book Pure Murder. Corey encourages everyone to add their names to the petition.

Laura James' new post on In Cold Blog wonders Is true crime blogging faddish? Laura writes about the demise of two excellent true crime sites that are proudly listed on the Blogroll, Crime Rant and True Crime Weblog (Seriously, two in one month? Losing Crime Rant was traumatic enough). She cites the time it takes to gather information, write the articles and also to monitor and moderate comments might be one of the reasons that the costs has outweighed the benefits.

Tami Tator from Crime, Interrupted guest blogs on David Lohr's Discovery Investigation this week. Her post Don't blame me, I'm just the criminal ponders why some people are still blaming the victim. She cites a recent case where Rickey Russel allegedly slashed two teenage girls with a machete before fleeing the scene and allegedly carjacking and robbing two more people. Towards the end of the blog she writes ;"-we live in a world where people criticize victims and their families"

Star's pick of the week

My favorite post this week is from CLEWS. Blogger Laura James writes a short blog entitled JonBenet in Fiction about Joyce Carol Oates' new book, a fictionalized account of JoBenet Ramsey's murder. The book, My Sister, My Love: The Intimate Story of Skyler Rampike, has garnered some cautious reviews from media sources who were quick to condemn the Ramsey's for the murder of their daughter.
