Exciting news—this blog is moving. I kicked this thing off back in 2006 and it’s been a great ride. But an opportunity presented itself to expand the audience AND to provide a larger platform to advocate for academic libraries—so I had to take it.

 

Back in October 2010 I was contacted by the Chronicle of Higher Education to join their new project called the Chronicle Blog Network. They’ve created a space for bloggers who are already posting about academic issues to write for the Chronicle audience. I am still the only editor and writer of this blog—the only difference is that I’ll be hosted somewhere else.

 

I’ll still be writing primarily for a librarian audience, however, as my job has evolved so to has my outlook. I spend a lot of time interacting with faculty, deans, assistant deans, and other campus planners. Building relationships and partnerships with them has become a central focus for me and I want to reflect on that in my writing. What I’m trying to say is that hopefully I can appeal to a more general academic audience. And who knows... I might be open to an occasional guest post from time to time.

 

Just for the record-- my posts will always be free, whether or not you have a Chronicle account. The content is still all mine, they are just helping me to distribute it better. We’re still making some cosmetic tweaks and I’m planning to recategorize things over the summer, but all the old posts are over there now and all my new content will be published there as well.
