But who will eventually take home the titles?

Fan Voting Offers a Shortcut to the Top 10

One interesting part of this year's competition is the Mister Popularity voting.

Votes from the Pre-Arrival Voting, Fan Vote, and Creative Costume challenges will be combined to determine the final rankings.

The top two candidates in the popularity vote will automatically enter the Top 15, while the highest-ranked candidate will also secure a place in the Top 10.

That's certainly a big advantage, especially with the finals just around the corner.

Candidates to Watch

Several contestants have already made an impression.

Arvin Jay Santos of Nueva Ecija, Vincent Mark Caringal of Novaliches, Quezon City, Ishe Venn Quiray of Tarlac Province, and Nathaniel Bayani of Laoag City were previously recognized as Press Favorites.

Richmond Carl Wayan Ngolab of Baguio also made an early mark by winning the Pre-Arrival Voting Challenge.

Meanwhile, the release of the official swimwear photos has given pageant fans more reasons to pick their favorites.

Pangasinan's Klyde San Diego, Nueva Ecija's Arvin Jay Santos, Bulacan Province's Ivan Centeno, and Novaliches' Vincent Mark Caringal are among the candidates worth watching.

Of course, a lot can still happen during the finals.

The Countdown Is On

With coronation night scheduled for October 24, we're getting closer to finding out which candidates will emerge as the new Misters of Filipinas titleholders.

Will the early favorites live up to expectations? Or will another candidate surprise everyone?

One thing is certain: the final competition should be interesting!

Trexy Paris Roxas has been named Miss Eco Teen Asia 2026 during the Miss Eco Teen International 2026 competition held in Egypt.

The Filipina beauty queen earned the continental title, adding another international pageant achievement for the country.

The overall Miss Eco Teen International 2026 crown went to Abigail Smilovitz of the United States.

Indonesia was named first runner-up, while the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and the Netherlands finished second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Trexy Paris Roxas Makes the Philippines Proud

Before representing the Philippines internationally, Roxas competed in Miss Universe Philippines 2026.

She later received the Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2026 title during The Miss Philippines Coronation Ball last May.

During the international competition, she also finished second runner-up in Best Resort Wear.

Her national costume, Inang Bayan, was another highlight of her participation. Designed by Er Stephen Alvarado, the Filipiniana-inspired creation featured recycled and discarded materials.

Although the Philippines missed the overall crown, Roxas still brought home the Miss Eco Teen Asia title.

Congratulations, Trexy!

Another reason for Filipino pageant fans to celebrate!

MJ Ordillano Finishes 2nd Runner-Up at Mister Global 2026; Türkiye Wins

MJ Ordillano has given Filipino pageant fans another reason to celebrate!

The Philippine representative finished second runner-up at Mister Global 2026, the competition in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on October 10.

Türkiye's Dilhan Divrikli took home the Mister Global crown, while Nigeria's Bethel Mbamara secured the first runner-up position.

It was another impressive international showing for Ordillano, who competed against a field of 39 candidates.

MJ Ordillano Adds Another International Placement

Ordillano may not have won the title, but finishing in the Top 3 is certainly an achievement worth celebrating.

The Parañaque native earned his ticket to Mister Global after winning the Mister Pilipinas Global 2026 title last April.

This wasn't his first international pageant experience, either.

In 2022, he represented the Philippines at Mister International and finished fourth runner-up.

Four years later, he has added another major placement to his pageant résumé.

Türkiye Wins Mister Global 2026

Dilhan Divrikli of Türkiye emerged victorious at the 12th Mister Global competition, succeeding Spain's Miguel Alejandro Ortega Alaniz.

Here are the final results shown in the announcement:

Winner: Dilhan Divrikli – Türkiye
1st Runner-Up: Bethel Mbamara – Nigeria
2nd Runner-Up: MJ Ordillano – Philippines
3rd Runner-Up: Anthony Tub Zaj Moua – Hmong
4th Runner-Up: Alejandro Quintero – Venezuela

The five finalists emerged from an international field that participated in cultural activities, photoshoots, preliminary events and the final competition in Thailand.

Before the final five were announced, Mister Global 2026 revealed its Top 20 semifinalists.

The countries that made the cut were Japan, Nepal, Türkiye, France, Portugal, Myanmar, Brazil, Nigeria, Netherlands, Korea, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Venezuela, Philippines, United States and Spain.

Hmong's Anthony Tub Zaj Moua joined the Top 20 through the Brotherhood Gateway award.

The competition then narrowed the field to 10 semifinalists: Türkiye, Nigeria, Netherlands, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Myanmar, Mexico, Spain and Brazil.

Moua once again earned a place in the next round, this time through the Mister Popularity award, making the lineup a Top 10+1.

He eventually finished third runner-up, behind Türkiye, Nigeria and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, MJ Ordillano continued his impressive international pageant journey by finishing second runner-up, giving Filipino fans another reason to celebrate.

It was an exciting finish for both contestants, especially Moua, whose two special awards helped him reach the final stages of the competition.

Another Proud Moment for Philippine Pageantry

The Philippines already knows what it feels like to win Mister Global.

In 2024, Dom Corilla became the country's first Mister Global winner.

Although Ordillano was unable to repeat that victory, his second runner-up finish shows that Filipino representatives remain strong contenders in international male pageants.

And with another international placement under his belt, MJ has certainly given his supporters something to cheer about.

Congratulations, MJ Ordillano! And congratulations to Türkiye's Dilhan Divrikli, Mister Global 2026!

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 Kicks Off With 37 Candidates

2026-10-07T09:46:14.710+08:00

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 is officially underway, with 37 candidates now competing for this year's crowns.

The candidates were formally introduced during the pageant's press presentation and sashing ceremony at The Bellevue Manila in Alabang on October 4.

Representatives from around the Philippines are joined by delegates from overseas Filipino communities in Australia, California, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

And one candidate is already enjoying an early victory.

Camarines Norte wins Mutya ng Bayan

Camarines Norte's Rica Mae Villasana topped the Mutya ng Bayan online voting with 70,230 votes.

Davao del Norte representative Lyra Punsalan finished second with 59,630 votes, while Cebu's Patricia Gail Dueñas placed third with 52,750 votes.

The three were recognized during the candidate's official presentation.

It is still early in the competition, however, and the 37-woman field includes several candidates who could emerge as major contenders as the pageant progresses.

Among those in the lineup are Iris Oresca of Camarines Sur, Patricia Gail Dueñas of Cebu, Lyra Punsalan of Davao del Norte, Maureen Mungcal of Pampanga, Claire Anwen Cacal of Pangasinan and Amara Kalisha Salgado of Rizal.

Mutya queens coming from strong international performances

This year's competition follows several impressive international performances by the previous batch of Mutya queens.

Eunice Dimaculangan Deza finished second runner-up at Top Model of the World 2026 in Egypt, while Lyndzy Blyss Maranan captured the Miss Global Universe 2026 crown in Singapore.

That international success makes the stakes even higher for the 2026 candidates, with the eventual titleholders hoping to follow the same path.

Coronation night set for October 14

The new Mutya ng Pilipinas queens will be crowned on October 14 at the Playtime FilOil Auditorium in San Juan City.

With 37 candidates officially in the race, the next several days should give pageant fans a much clearer picture of this year's strongest contenders.

For now, Camarines Norte, Davao del Norte and Cebu have taken the early spotlight — but the battle for the major Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 titles has only just begun.

Misters of Filipinas 2026 Press Favorites Revealed; Baguio Wins Pre-Arrival Vote

2026-10-04T11:48:00.299+08:00

The competition is heating up at Misters of Filipinas 2026, with several candidates already making an early impression.

During the pageant's Opening Night and Press Presentation, four delegates were selected as Press Favorites, while the representative of Baguio emerged as the winner of the Pre-Arrival Voting Challenge.

The event was held at Studio W9, La Fuerza Compound, Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City, with this year's 22 official candidates taking part.

Four Candidates Named Press Favorites

Members of the press picked four candidates who stood out during the presentation for their presence, confidence and personality.

The Misters of Filipinas 2026 Press Favorites are:

Nueva Ecija – Arvin Jay Santos

Novaliches, Quezon City – Vincent Mark Caringal

Tarlac Province – Ishe Venn Quiray

Laoag – Nathaniel Bayani

The recognition gives the four delegates an early boost as they continue their journey in the competition.

Of course, being a Press Favorite does not necessarily predict who will eventually take home one of the major titles, but it certainly puts these candidates among the early names to watch.

Richmond Carl Wayan Ngolab of Baguio Wins Pre-Arrival Vote

Meanwhile, Richmond Carl Wayan Ngolab of Baguio scored an early victory after winning the Pre-Arrival Voting Challenge.

The voting period ran from September 28 to October 2, 2026, closing at 7:00 PM.

The award was presented by Sysprotech, the pageant's official voting and tabulation partner.

Ngolab's win suggests that the Baguio representative has already built strong support among pageant fans even before the competition moves into its major events.

Misters of Filipinas 2026 Is Underway

With 22 candidates competing this year, the Opening Night and Press Presentation offered an early glimpse of what could be an exciting Misters of Filipinas competition.

Arvin Jay Santos, Vincent Mark Caringal, Ishe Venn Quiray and Nathaniel Bayani have made their mark with the press, while Richmond Carl Wayan Ngolab has demonstrated his strength in the fan vote.

But the competition is only beginning.

As the candidates move through the upcoming activities, photoshoots and pageant events, more favorites could emerge before the Misters of Filipinas 2026 finals.

Who are your early favorites for Misters of Filipinas 2026?

"Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been," Barbie wrote, also describing Jak's love as "exceptional."

The caption was written like a letter to Jak. Barbie even tagged the actor in the post, it looked like the breakup happened before the post happened, and it was indeed a "beautiful goodbye."

"Thank you for loving me the way you did," Barbie wrote. "I am excited for what's to come for the both of us."

Barbie hopes for everyone's understanding and wishes that everyone can help them "put this matter to rest."

'And The Breadwinner Is...' starring Vice Ganda leads 50th MMFF box-office

2024-12-27T09:48:00.002+08:00

The Vice Ganda-starrer And The Breadwinner Is... has reportedly been leading the box-office since it opened in cinemas on December 25 as part of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

And The Breadwinner Is... movie poster

The movie got the most number of cinemas among the entries with over 200, so naturally it would earn more than the other entries.

But then again cinema owners know what movies to show that would give them more money.

The Vic Sotto-Piolo Pascual-starrer The Kingdom is said to be the 2nd top-grossing movie so far, followed by Judy Ann Santos' Espantaho and the Vilma Santos-Aga Muhlach-Nadine Lustre-led Uninvited. All 3 movies have been showing in 100+ cinemas since the MMFF opened.

Producers of the other entries are hoping to get more number of cinemas after the MMFF awards night (Gabi ng Parangal) on Dec. 27, considering they get awards.

Green Bones starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid started with 43 cinemas on the 1st day, and had additional 14 cinemas on the 2nd day. The movie became a trending tppic on social media on Christmas Day because of the cast's superb acting.

Meanwhile, the musical Isang Himala starring Aicelle Santos lost 8 cinemas on the 2nd day from its original 32.

The revelation was made a few hours after Mister Grand Philippines posted on social media that Mark Joseph “MJ” Macalintal will be the country’s representative to the Man Hot Star International 2024.

According to RJ’s post, the main reason he was resigning was because he had not yet received his prize as the winner of the competition. He had also not been paid yet for working for the brand for 20 days after his coronation.

“My Man Hot Star winning moment in Thailand is one of the happiest chapters in my life. I embraced the Man Hot Star Organization and even stayed in Thailand for Twenty (20) days working for the brand but until this day, I did not Receive Compensation and Prizes as the Winner,” RJ wrote.

He also pointed out that he worked hard not only to make the country proud but also to make a living and be able to help his loved ones financially.

“Today, I have made a very tough decision to resign from the title of Man Hot Star International 2023. Even without my international title, I will continue to inspire the world as one of your Misters of Filipinas kings,” he further wrote in the Facebook post.

RJ earned the right to compete in Man Hot Star International when he won the title of Man Hot Star Philippines in Misters of Filipinas (MOF) 2023.

The national franchise of the international male pageant was still with MOF that time.

This year, however, the franchise is with Mister Grand Philippines. I just wonder why they didn’t crown a Man Hot Star Philippines during the coronation last week.

MJ Macalintal was originally crowned Mister Grand Philippines Heritage. It was only a few hours ago that the announcement of him being the Man Hot Star Philippines was made.

But then, I also wonder why RJ waited for almost a year before resigning. He was crowned November 25th last year.

But now that he has resigned, is he planning on joining another pageant? Or is that the reason behind the resignation?

Anyway, he’s not the first international male pageant winner from the Philippines to resign. Ion Perez also resigned from being Mister Universe Tourism in 2018.

Meanwhile, Man Hot Star International also took to Facebook Thursday night to post an announcement. It seemed they have dethroned RJ from his title as the 2023 winner.

One of the reasons was that the organization found out about RJ’s having children, when one of the requirements for being a contestant was being single (not married and no child).

The organization also cited a number of contract violations RJ made.

Did RJ make the resignation because he learned that he was being dethroned? Or is it the other way around?

Mark Joseph Macalintal is Man Hot Star Philippines 2024

2024-11-21T18:01:00.000+08:00

Mark Joseph "MJ" Macalintal is going to represent the Philippines in Man Hot Star International (MHSI) 2024 which happens this December in Thailand.

MJ recently won the Mister Heritage title at the recently-held Mister Grand Philippines (MGP) 2024 pageant.

There was actually no Man Hot Star PH title that was given out during the MGP finale despite the fact that the pageant currently holds the national franchise for MHSI.

On Thursday, however, MGP announced that MJ's title is now Man Hot Star Philippines and he will be competing this December in Thailand.

Well, it's good to know that MJ Macalintal will be the first to compete internationally from the MGP 2024 batch of winners.

After Jovy Bequillo and RJ De Vera's win in 2022 and 2023, respectively, will MJ give us a back-to-back-to-back win?

Man Hot Star International 2024 finals will be on December 5. Contestants will start arriving at the Suvarnabhumi Airport as soon as November 30.

Good luck, MJ!

Great Man of the Universe Philippines 2024 - Hot Picks

2024-11-20T17:58:00.001+08:00

Great Man of the Universe Philippines 2024 is naming the winner this Thursday and honestly, there's really a lot of good looking contestants in this batch which makes choosing my hot picks really hard.

For one, there's Mister STI Philippines 2023 Harjit Chohan who's representing the Filipino Community of India.

Then there's Arezson Jose Fuentes, the representative from Rizal Province who looks more charming in videos than in photos.

And the representatives from Tarlac are all good looking, but for me, Marnny Andrie Lampa (Tarlac Province) and Jayson David are the best two from the northern province.

There are also these handsome hunks from Tanauan, Leyte (Christopher Pitogo Lagarto); Filipino Community of United Kingdom (Yann-Luc Fourniol); Iloilo Province (Roque Jun Dilbert Tubaon); Iligan City (Meg Yolvin Uy); Lugait, Misamis Oriental (John Julius Paquingan); and Koronadal, South Cotabato (Ashon Andrews).

Great Man of the Universe 2024 coronation night happens November 21, at The Podium Hall in Pasig City.

The winner will have the chance to compete in the second edition of Great Man of the Universe which happens March 2025.

So who do you think it will be? Is your favorite candidate included in my Top 10?
