Last night the Red Sox laid a beat down on the worst team in the majors, the Washington Nationals. The Red Sox went bonkers on the Nats relivers, who have been puss so far this season.

Leading the charge were fellow Canadian Jason Bay (4 for 6 with 3 RBI’s), and Jacoby Ellsbury (4 for 4 with 3 RBI’s). Brad Penny continues to do an admirable job in the Red Sox rotation, making it tough for Theo Epstein to deal the big righty with Dice-K on the DL.

The Red Sox will look to continue their brand of Capital Punishment in the final two games of the series, and extend their winning streak to 5 games in the process.

Til next time, Go Sox!

Things don’t get any easier this weekend, when we go up against the defending Champions, the Philadelphia Phillies. Let’s hope Jonny Lester can keep the hot streak going tonight and throw another gem.

Tonight the Red sox will do battle against their arch enemy the New York Yankees. The two teams will collide in a 3-game set at Fenway park with the winner of the series claiming first place in the AL East division.

The Red Sox have faced some tough opponents this past week, but none tougher than the team they will face tonight. After defeating the division leading Tigers in 3 straight games, the Red Sox came home only to drop their next series (2 games to 1) against the AL West leading Texas Rangers.

Continuing the trend of playing division leaders, the Red Sox will face the Yankees for 3, and then head to Philadelphia to face the NL East leaders for 3 more. This crucial stretch of games will be a great test for the Red Sox, who hope to land another post season berth in October, which could potentially be against some of these teams.

On the mound tonight is Josh Beckett, who has regained some of his dominant form in recent starts. He’ll match up against his former Marlin teammate, A.J. Burnett, in what looks to be a battle of the heated arms. Tomorrow night, Tim Wakefield will take on the struggling Chien-Meng Wang and in the finale, Brad Penny will bump heads with C.C. Sabathia.

All signs point to this being a playoff-like series, with the Red Sox carrying some momentum from the previous meetings this year. The Red Sox are a perfect 5-0 against the Yankees this season, and will look to continue that trend and take over sole possession of first place. Best of luck boys!

Til next time, Go Sox!

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to attend the Red Sox v.s. the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Red Sox came out pounding, and played a complete game to pull out with an 8-2 victory. After dropping the first two games of the series, I was extremely happy to see them come out with a win.

Jon Lester was on the mound for the good guys, and threw a career high 12 strikeouts, against a normally potent Jays offense. Leading the charge along with Lester was Kevin Youkilis, who belted 2 Home Runs, Jason Bay, who knocked one out as well, and Dustin Pedroia, who hit only his second dinger of the year, but the 3-run shot proved to be all the Red Sox needed in order to secure the win.

All in all it was a great game and I was glad my Sox came through with me in attendance.

Til next time, Go Sox!
