This countdown ranks Survivors who have won the most individual challenges. For purposes of this countdown this includes any challenge victories after the merge. Occasionally "individual" reward challenges are done in teams but for this countdown those wins count. It does NOT include redemption island duels. Although Rob does have one more post merge challenge win than Ozzy, Ozzy also had 6 dueling wins.

Ozzy

Ozzy came SO close to making this countdown, and if he had, his average might have tied Rob's and would certainly of been higher then Parvati's. We know that John would NOT have voted for Ozzy, but we aslo know that Jim, Kieth, Whitney, Dawn, Edna, and Rick would definitely have voted for him with Brandon and jury member X being wild cards. This would have given Ozzy a minumum jury vote total of 10 with a minumum jury vote average of 56%.

* As of this writing the cast of season 25 has not "officially" been announced, but rumor has it that the returning players will be Mike Skupin, Jonathon Penner, and Russell Swan. None of which have ever made it to the end.

MOST HEARTBREAKING FINALES

One of the few bad things about Survivor is that the person you want to win often doesn't, starting with season 1 where the diabolical Richard Hatch prevailed over challenge goddess Kelly Wigglesworth. These are the top 5 most heartbreaking finales.

5.MICRONESIA
Amanda became the first Survivor to make it to the end twice and does it in BACK TO BACK seasons! After a heartbreaking loss in China, Amanda seemed to be a lock in Micronesia to triumph over the wicked Parvati, but alas it was not to be. Parvati would take home the title of sole survivor and with Sandra in Heroes Vs Villains becomes just the third and fourth survivors to make it to the end twice. At least she didn't win that time, although she was the runner up.

4.SAMOA

Because of the excessive use of alcohol and cocaine in this country a lot of people found this season to be heartbreaking because Russell didn't win. Those of us with integrity, however, were crushed when the noble Brett came up just a little short of making it to the end. He had won 3 immunity challenges in a row to throw a monkey wrench into the evil foa foa's reign of terror, but unfortunately came in second at the final immunity. He was quickly voted off despite Russell promising not to vote for him, but at least that ensured that Nataly would beat Russell for the Survivor crown.

3. COOK ISLANDS

The epic season that introduced the world to Ozzy, one of the greatest players in survivor history. The season began with the controversial racial segregation of tribes. Ozzy of course was on the Latino tribe and when four of his original tribe of five were voted out in the first seven tribal councils, Ozzy's chances of just making it to the merge seemed extremely bleak. However, with the heart of a warrior, Ozzy persevered. First he was instrumental in Aitutaki overcoming an eight to four deficit after Candice and Jonathon mutinied to Rorotango. He then won challenge after challenge after the merge. Everyone, including his alliance wanted him out because of his incredible strength. He was such a great provider of food that some of his cast members actually gained weight while on the island!

When he made it to the finale it seemed like Ozzy might accomplish what was once unthinkable and win the game. Unfortunately this was the first season where they had a final three eligible for the million dollars which might have been Ozzy's undoing. This kept him from being able to win one more immunity challenge and voting out his main competition, Yul. Still Ozzy seemed to be the favorite when Yul voted Sundra out of the game. Sundra still voted for Yul to win. I'm guessing she resented Ozzy more for winning the final immunity then she did Yul for voting her out. Although he ended up coming one vote short of the title he WAS the clear favorite with fans and was awarded a new Mercury Mariner by the viewers.

2.AUSTRALIA

This was the highest rated season ever by viewers. Colby set a record for most individual challenge wins that stood for 10 years, as he coasted to the finals with Tina happily riding his coattails. Unfortunately Colby came up just short of overcoming the girl power of the jury and lost to Tina by one vote. He did get Amber's vote so Karma rewarded her when she won All Stars.

1.SOUTH PACIFIC
The top heart breaker is also the third Ozzy season in the countdown. After being passed over for Heroes Vs Villains in order to avoid awkwardness with his ex Amanda, Ozzy returned to the South Pacific for one last shot at redemption. Unfortunately he got stuck with a lousy tribe that included one of Survivors biggest weasels of all time, John Cochran. Nevertheless when Ozzy won the first individual immunity his alliance was in the driver's seat to take control of the game, until self proclaimed student of the game: John, decided it would be a good idea to go from sixth place to seventh place, screwing over his alliance in the process. One thing he didn't count on was Redemption Island. This actually benefited Ozzy when he went to Redemption Island for a second time. He never lost a duel which set up a finale eerily similar to the Samoa finale. Like Brett, Ozzy would have won the final tribal council election by a landslide but also like Brett he came up just short of the final immunity. Like Russell did with Brett, Coach made a deal with Ozzy not to vote him out, but despite being a man of "honor" the hypocritical Coach left no doubt of his paper thin integrity when he breaks his word to Ozzy that he gave as a "Christian man". Unfortunately Coach is too dumb to realize that he has no chance of winning even with Ozzy gone, so he breaks his word as a Christian man for nothing, allowing Sophie to steal the game. It was absolutely devastating to watch Ozzy lose the final challenge, when after three seasons he seemed so close to finally winning the game.
When he was voted out for the third time of the season Ozzy became the first exiled castaway to be applauded by the jury (except for John the weasel) and the first Survivor ever to have his torch snuffed out four times! On the bright side, at the reunion, Ozzy wins his second fan favorite award. This time by the WIDEST margin in the history of Survivor. He may not have won the game but he does solidify his status as a true Survivor legend. As far as Coach, I think HE put it best by saying "I've been made a FOOL of so many times because of this game."

GREATEST WINNERS

Although there have been some major heartbreakers in Survivor there have also been some very satisfying victories. Here are the top 5 winners of all time.

5. Ethan Zohn AFRICA
Easily the most likable member of the motely crue AFRICA cast. He becomes the first winner to win by more then 1 vote. The soccer player goes on to be one of 4 winners to return to Survivor All Stars. Unfortunatley due to a challenge error by producers and a lawsuit against CBS, fellow castmembers Lex and Big Tom get to come back as well.

4. Bob Crowely GABON
By far the oldest person to win the game. This elderly high school teacher shocked everybody with his strategic play AND challenge dominance.

3. Tom Westman PALAU
When Stephanie got voted out in Palau this fireman became the clear favorite to win the game. He came up just one vote shy of a unaminous decision by the jury to win the million dollars. Tom would return to play again in Heroes Vs Villains. Guess which team he was on?

2. Boston Rob REDEMPTION ISLAND
The fourth time was the charm for fan favorite Boston Rob to finally win the game. He also becomes the first male to ever win the game in a season that features returning players and breaks the records for most days on Survivor (117) and most individual challenge wins (10). On top of that he's also named fan favorite of the season and becomes just the fifth survivor to make it to the end twice. Although he played a near perfect game, when you consider that he was playing for the fourth time against amateurs he can't be awarded the top slot of best winner.

1.Sandra Diaz-Twine PEARL ISLANDS & HEROES VS VILLANS
This fiesty bank teller is the only latin to win the game and also the only person to win the game TWICE! In Pearl Islands she trumps the annoying Lil and in Heroes Vs Villains she plays cocky Russell like a fiddle to win the game again. Although Rob is my FAVORITE player of all time I have to say that Sandra is without question the BEST player in Survivor history. Check out my youtube video on Sandra HERE.

DUMBEST SURVIVORS OF ALL TIME

To be fair it's not easy to think strait while you're starving and not sleeping much. Still there are some Survivors who have made moves that were beyond stupid.

Congratulations are in order to Christie, Sarge, John Fincher, and Dan who move 4 spots down the list as the last two seasons have had an unprecedented number of brain damaged contestants. Sorry Erik but you're still number 1.

14 Christie Smith AMAZON
As the first handicapped Survivor, Christie started out as being my favorite Survivor. However towards the end she got a big head and started throwing her weight around camp, which ended up getting her quickly voted out. In her final interview she was crying as she swore that her wicked step sisters (Jenna and Heidi) would not win the million dollars and then she VOTED for Jenna to win the million over Matthew!

13 Sarge VANUATU
Had the brilliant strategy to make his team weaker by voting out the best tribe members first. Apparently he thought the merge would come by day 6.

12 John Fincher SAMOA
Concedes that there are “tons of inherent risks” in voting against his tribe right after the merge. Then he proceeds to go after his own tribe members, opening the door for Russell to decimate John’s tribe. Additionally, out of 18 jury members to hear Russell Hantz’s case to win Survivor, Fincher is one of only two to be stupid enough to vote for him, the other being BIMBO. Nuff Said.

11 Dan Lue AMAZON
Dan Lue forever ended the myth that all Asians are smart. This musclehead is dumber then Joe Millionaire.

10 Kat Edorsson ONE WORLD
Oh boy! What can I say about Kat? In her final episode she says she's not going to worry about being strategic while playing survivor AND that blindsides were fun and exciting, moments before being blindsided.

9 Billy Garcia COOK ISLANDS
His tribe actually threw a challenge to get rid of this knucklehead. Then at tribal council he foolishly proclaims his love for rival tribe member Candice Woodcock, who he had barely spoken to, but he actually thought she loved him too!

8 Ian Rosenberger PALAU
Definitely the dumbest person to make the final three. Among other things, when they were down to four he actually told his ally and current possessor of immunity, Tom that he considered voting him out if Tom hadn’t won immunity.

7 John Cochran SOUTH PACIFIC
Like Dan did with Asians, John forever ended the myth that all nerds are smart. Deluded himself into believing he was a great strategic survivor mastermind, in reality this geek didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. He actually thought it would be a good idea to screw over an alliance that saved his ass more then once, and in the process go from sixth place to seventh place.
"Ozzy took a bullet for Cochran" (Dalton Ross) not to mention entrusted him with the idol. Then as soon a Ozzy returns from redemption island John procedes to target Ozzy and is the only jury member not to applaud Ozzy when he is finally eliminated from the game. As Jim said at the reunion, "he's not a student of the game, either that or he can't count, because you need 5 votes to win and you can't win after screwing over 5 jury members".

6 Brandon Hantz SOUTH PACIFIC
Even dumber then his uncle but at least not as diabolical. He thanked Jesus when he got eliminated from the game because he doesn't believe in free will. That means he can't be mad at me for putting him on this countdown because as Survivor recapper Dalton Ross said "it MUST be God's will for me to write about what a lunkhead he is".

5 Bimbo SAMOA
Where do I begin? Dave said it best when he pondered the question “did your momma drop you on your head”!

4 James Clement CHINA
Got voted out of China with TWO immunity idols in his pocket.

3 Men Tribe ONE WORLD
Colton, Matt, Mike, Leif, Jonas, Jay, Bill, Tarzan, and TROYZAN! It was a sad day for men everywhere when these knuckleheads were chosen to represent us on the 24th season of Survivor. The only tribe in Survivor history to GIVE UP immunity AFTER winning a challenge! Soon afterwards they quickly became decimated by the women, which led to a first ever final 5 of women. For the record there has NEVER been a final 4 of all men, but the women have done it twice!

2 Tyson Apostle TOCANTINS
This moron, I mean Mormon, completely ruined Heroes Vs Villains by inexplicably changing his vote to Parvati instead of Russell. This monumental bonehead move led to Boston Rob and his alliance's downfall. At least it did lead to the greatest tribal council in history when the jury slammed Russell.

1 Erik Reichenbach FANS VS FAVORITES
I know Survivor audiences voted for JT’s bonehead move over Erik’s giving up immunity to Natalie but I think that may have been because JT’s move was fresher in their minds. Parvati said it best when she was voting Erik out and proclaimed “you’re going to go down in history as the dumbest Survivor of all time”.
