A newbie Internet marketer without question, typically will make the following two mistakes automatically: 1) Not choosing a niche market to stick with it and 2) Not using keyword research as a general guide to construct their articles (or build their blog/website) and effectively use keyword phrases in the title and throughout the article...

Above and beyond losing focus or not concentrating ones efforts on a niche market which one is familiar with or where one can quickly gain a certain level of "expert" knowledge in order to write a substantial number of problem solving articles, a newbie affiliate marketer will also make the following major mistakes...

1. Following the latest greatest shiny object

Affiliate marketing is a business where you can make money, but beware that you will have to work for it...No matter how many people try to sell you a "magic button" or promise you that they "will do all of the work for you", I implore you to think about it logically...If it were truly a "magic button" that would make you rich beyond your wildest dreams overnight, would they share it with you???...Instead of following the herds of wishful thinkers that want easy money with no work, I advise you to use your head and save your money for investing in your business after you actually have a business to invest in...FREE and effective tips and tricks of the internet marketing trade can be found at Pat Flynn, Erica Stone and Ana Hoffman's websites...

2. Not knowing what's in your contract/affiliate agreement to make more money with Internet marketing

Newbie affiliate marketers tend to make fatal business decisions which limit/restrict their potential income streams...Rumor has it that "cloaking" your affiliate links will decrease your commissions/sales earned through both Amazon and ClickBank...There are many different opinions and recommendations on the subject...I think it is better to be safe than sorry, so avoid cloaking your affiliate links for those two affiliate programs and be sure to read the "fine print" for any other affiliate programs to make sure you are not in violation...I for one originally liked the idea of using Bitly to track clicks/traffic sources, but have since decided to discontinue using Bitly altogether...Also be aware that certain data from Amazon cannot be published on your site without using their Product Advertising API...A violation/breach of contract could be detrimental to your online internet marketing business...Also, AdSense Ads have restrictions on how many per page and placement within the page so beware of this too...

3. Not being organized in your approach to grow your online business

You must have a plan...
You must have a focus/niche market...
You must test and track your marketing efforts to see what is working...
You must capture and grow your list of like minded people that are interested in what you have to share so that you have the option of marketing your latest beneficial offer/product to them in the future...

4. Mis-educating yourself about how to make extra money online and grow your business

The best free resources for coming up to speed, in content creation, traffic generation and making sales, that I recommend are from the folks that i mentioned above...You can read their blogs and subscribe/opt-in to their email subscription lists so that you can receive their latest and greatest FREE tips, tricks and recommendations...While the best motivational book that I have read is "The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime"...

5. Inaction or not enough of the right kind of action

First of all if you do nothing, you will get nothing...Therefore you must take action...But what should you do and when???...Or how should you spend your time???...Having been at this for a while now, the word on the street is that you should spend most of your time promoting your website, your affiliate offer, your product or your brand...Say for instance that you decide to write an eBook (this is your digital product), you should take no more than two weeks to complete it and have it ready to market and sell for profits...After your product is completed, then the majority of your time and effort should be spent marketing your product...At the top of your sales funnel is where you should plan and execute a killer landing page, where you include a heart wrenching title that crystallizes the benefit that your product exudes in solving the problem of your potential buyer...A properly designed, well-written landing page with the best possible layout is critical to converting your traffic from visitors to buyers...So you will have to dedicate some time and effort in implementing a high-conversion landing page to make more money through product sales...

After your product is complete and your landing page is complete, you should spend 20% of your time on product development/refinement, 20% of your time on motivational education and 60% of your time promoting your product/offer...

Make Money with Squidoo's Changed Policy

I like many of you suffered a substantial loss when Squidoo changed their policy last year and a significant number of my lenses (articles) were locked...I am determined more than ever to adapt rather than abort...Because even though I was hit hard by the changed policy, I see Squidoo as an essential part of my make money online plan...

What I Learned From Squidoo

As is the case with the safety briefings on most major airlines, the flight attendants instruct you to "save yourself first" by placing the oxygen mask on yourself prior to putting one on your small children...This mindset also applies to blogging or writing articles online to make money...Your efforts should be first & foremost and primarily focused on building your brand, growing your readership, generating more traffic to blogs and websites where you have the most control...

Squidoo's Policy Changed, Now What

Here are my top ten quick steps to make money with Squidoo and keep your lenses from getting locked...

1. DO - Keep the number of your outbound links within the content of your lens to Amazon (or any other specific site) below nine...

2. DO - Stay away from topics that might make the prudish among us blush...

3. DON'T - Include outbound links to sites that promote illegal activities...

4. DON'T - Link to sites that are essentially affiliate spammers...

5. DO - Avoid links to Blackhat SEO websites, dating websites, paid people finder sites, reverse phone lookup webpages and other questionable sites such as these...

6. DO - Use the easy to use money making modules (e.g. for eBay) that make blogging at Squidoo so easy breezy, fun and lucrative...

7. DO - Link to your personal (where you have some freedoms to share information that wouldn't get you dropped from Google AdSense, as you like) blog or website near the top of your lens/article...

8. DO - Choose topics that are easy for you to write about, so that your content will be plentiful and unique...

9. DO - Backup your Squidoo lenses just in case you decide to republish it after tweaking the content...

10. DO - Stick with Squidoo and test different angles to leverage your time and efforts to first of all drive traffic to where in the long run, you will make more money over time...

In summary, write great articles/lenses with useful and unique content so that you can create buzz to market your own blog or website above and before others, including Squidoo...Ultimately, you will have no regrets because you did your best for yourself and YOUR success will follow...

In the end, Squidoo may not be directly where you make the bulk of your money, but it should definitely be a catalyst to help you make more money online...

Welcome Back to the WAHM Shelley Blog

Let me tell you, this is continuing to be a truly great experience...I want to share with you all that I have done and what I have learned over these past few years...For starters, I have experienced some very heartbreaking moments and some major lifestyle changes...My family has moved to the city, the kids are all in school and I have had several technical difficulties [my computers keep dying... :( ]...

My biggest setback, as many of you may have also experienced, was when Squidoo did a major overhaul of their policy and when that happened my income plummeted... :(

But I am back and more determined than ever...So please stay tuned for some of the best tips and tricks that I have learned over the years...My biggest goal is to make the biggest comeback and make more money online...

Did any of you suffer from the Squidoo snafu???...Well i sure did...Between that and losing access to a ton of the articles, projects and stellar make money online info that I had collected, I was nearly heart broken...

But as I said, I will be the comeback kid this year and make more money online...I am determined...

I Made My Third Squidoo Lens Today

FYI, for anyone that doesn't know what a lens is, it's simply an article...You can check mine out HERE...So please do, go and check it out and be sure to LIKE it and leave a comment...

Squidoo is a great revenue sharing website that's free to join...CLICK HERE right now and join in on the fun...I really do like the format of Squidoo...It's sooo easy to use and you can earn money in at least five different ways...

There are people making a ton of money from Squidoo...One lensmaster that I came across starting seriously working on growing the number of lenses on Squidoo about six months ago and now she's making over $1000 per month with Squidoo...The great thing about these revenue sharing websites is: you write really great keyword researched articles once and then the money keeps piling in...That's right, it's a passive income stream that you basically can count on...

I've been checking out some of the best lensmasters and they only have about 150 articles...But they were probably written four or five years ago...So age boosts their status/authority in the "eyes" of the search engines...There are a number of factors which actually help your articles rank higher with the search engines... On-page SEO and off-page SEO are critical to getting your article to show up on the first page of Google for your targeted keyword...And you need to be on the first page of the search results to really make money...

At Squidoo they have super cool modules that are easy to add so that visitors can take polls and comment which raises your rank/authority too...So interaction of the visitors on your website plays an important role in being found by other internet surfers through the search engines...

I did it...And you can too!!!...

I kept letting the goal of finally posting an article on Wizzley slide off of my to-do-list, but I finally did it...Yippee!!!...I don't know what took me soooo long except for me experiencing a touch of Adult ADD and the holidays came in a monopolized a lot of my time...

Well I am sooo glad that's over and done with... :D

Now, all I have to do is rinse and repeat...The hard part is done...Setting up the account involved more steps than I recall when I set up Squidoo or InfoBarrel...But I must say that I do like the modules/tools that Wizzley has that allows you to add different elements to your page...If you haven't tried writing articles for revenue sharing websites, you really should give it a try...CLICK HERE to sign up for FREE and start writing articles for Wizzley to make extra money online...

Writing articles for revenue sharing websites is a nice way to build a sweet passive income stream...I first got that bug planted in my ear/eye, sort of speak, from Pat Flynn...And of course after starting my writing exercise following James' method, I was able to get a Google Adsense account so that I could diversify my income streams...So far, so good...

And a really great part about the revenue sharing sites that have written for, is that I get to earn cash from not only Google Adsense but also Amazon in some cases...Love it!!!... Some people are really earning a really good income from Amazon and Adsense...I will be so happy when I am in the mix with then on that...

The tough part for me is that I have a large family and I have to juggle just what I can do and when around my family obligations...Such is life...Life is tough...But I am hoping that it will start getting a bit sweeter for me in 2012...I have set some goals to post at least three articles a day...It's typically easy for me when I write for "This Crazy Life!!!" and "The Ultimate WAHM Experience", but some of those other articles take time to research and format...So in addition to the three articles per day, I am going to work on getting about 10 backlinks per day too...And of course this is one of the tips I picked up from Ray Higdon...

Well, all I have to say now is "Welcome 2012 !!!"...So far, so good...I may not quite be at the level that the notorious copywriter Gary Halbert was, but WAHM Shelley is working smarter day by day...Let me know in the comments below if you have set some new goals for your online business to make more money in 2012...If so, care to share???...

Make More Money Online Writing Great Content

I have been scouring the internet for great make money online opportunities...And I must admit that I've been through some great posts on the Warrior Forum and then did some Googling and came across a Gem...And hopefully I will be pulling in some cool cash pretty soon from it...Have you heard about PayPerPost???...Well I just did and I am sure glad that I found this website that connects bloggers and advertisers for the benefit of both...Yippee!!!...

I am looking to pull in cash in the New Year and for me this is the tip of the iceberg...I am looking to see Daegan at the top of Maximum Leverage and join Mike Dillard in The Elevation Group in 2012...I am going to take it one day at a time, one goal at a time by starting with a small goal of "5 bucks a day" the Dennis Becker way...I know that may sound like a penance to all of you Guru marketers out there, Matt Bacak included, but I've got to start somewhere...So before you know it I'll reach my end goal and reset for another round of goal setting and milestone achievements...

I may not have the finesse that the great copywriter, Gary Halbert had, but I will be learning and growing my business day-in and day-out...And in the end you just might say to yourself why did, A peculiar witch dashes into the outlook...And I will say, I am no witch...Far from it...I am just another work at home mom trying to make some extra cash to get a few extra goodies for my tiny brood (afterall I only have 8+; a small family in comparison to Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar; they were working on number 20 when they tragically lost little Jubilee Shalom at 19 weeks gestation)...

Stay tuned, because I believe that I am really on to something...Afterall, most warriors will tell you, you've got to give it at least one good year of hard work before you can sit back on your laurels and reap the benefits...Just be wary of spending nearly $1000 on get rich quick schemes/software like Martin Phillips' Instant Ranker...The warriors have spoken, and I think most people are looking to get a refund, because there must have been some trickery in that "LIVE" demonstration that supposedly instantly put $300+ into the clickbank accounts of some "randomly" selected webinar attendees...

So the bottom line is there is no real instant cash machine that is going to pour cash into your paypal account...Just hang on and plug in, because together we can do this...It's not rocket science, but it is going to take real committed, consistent quality work every day...

I have noticed a regular steady increase in traffic over the past few weeks for both of my blogs that I have been working on: This Crazy Life !!! and The Ultimate WAHM Experience...I've been writing what I consider to be high quality unique content in posts/articles on both of my blogs and at revenue sharing websites...Although I must admit that since I have spent a lot of time tweaking little things that are not readily visible to the average visitor, it's taken time away from my article marketing... I am hoping that soon I can have both blogs optimized so that I can focus on writing more informative articles (i.e. article marketing) and building niche websites (i.e. niche marketing)...FYI, posting high quality unique articles on revenue sharing websites will not only help you earn more money, but you will get backlinks too...

This is really a worthwhile journey, because I like the daily challenges of figuring things out and sharing them here at my WAHM Shelley blog to help you start or build your internet marketing business...I know I have a while to go til I reach the point where, I feel as though, I have arrived with these two starter blogs, but I'll just keep working every day that I can to build my online business by generating more organic FREE traffic, so that I can make more money...

Follow these steps to make money online:

1. Gmail, Facebook and Twitter accounts are essential to your online business...You will use them to promote your articles/blogs...First you will need a Gmail account and then you will use that account to signup for both Facebook and Twitter...Choose usernames for all three accounts according to the niche market that you will be working with...In other words, you will need to start thinking about your business in terms of the customers that you are trying to help and/or what their problem is...Always use the best keywords or keyword phrases that represent your target audience...

    e.g. FREEdesktopbackgrounds4u@gmail.com being sure to include the best keywords for your niche

    e.g. healthadvice4u as a Facebook or Twitter user ID again being sure to include the best keywords for your niche

2. Sign up for bitly service...You will shorten your URLs here and it will track them for you to let you know when someone clicks through one of them...Then you will use the shortened URLs for tweeting and adding URLs from Amazon Associates to your Best-Reviewer "top lists" for instance...

3. Get your FREE MYCPS ebook to guide you on how to put your content and blog/website together...

4. Get your Amazon Associates affiliate ID so that you can monetize your website/blog, plus your Wizzley and Best-Reviewer articles...

5. Use this FREE Character count tool to check the number of words or characters that are in your articles...

6. Go to Blogger to set up two to three FREE blogs (or as many blogs as you like) for posting articles and placing ads and affiliate links on for monetization...You will use one of these blogs to do exercises in article writing, according to James' method....Although I used the term "exercises" this is a REAL blog and this method will automatically generate traffic to your blog...Come up with a catchy name that will be a catch-all because you will be writing about a variety of topics (including sports, beauty, technology, computers, art and humanities)... Try to quickly write 20 articles only about 500 characters each (NOT WORDS)...Look at this blog, because I use James' method to populate it...The other 1-2 blogs will be about niche markets (e.g. flower arranging, basket weaving, making money on eBay, etc.)...So be sure to include as many keywords as you can in your blog name...

7. Get a Wizzley account..Signup for this account to start writing articles...Simply go from the settings tab in your account page to apply for your revenue generating affiliations to start making money with your articles...The revenue generating affiliations and tools include:

Amazon Associates ID
AllPosters Website ID
Zazzle Associate ID
Google AdSense ID
Google AdSense Channel
Google Analytics

Step-by-step guides are included for each of the above, right in the revenue section on your settings tab which is accessed from "My account" in the navigation bar at the top of the page...

8. Get an InfoLinks account by applying once you have about 20 or so articles on one of your blogs/websites...You will need this account to monetize your blogs and possibly revenue sharing websites...

9. Get a FREE Best-Reviewer membership once you have your Google Adsense ID...You will then write "top lists" like the "The top 3 things you need when you get a new cat", "The top 5 places to get a cheesesteak sub/hoagie in Philadelphia" or "The top 20 baby boy names for 2011"...you will add links in your "top lists" to Amazon products from your Amazon Associates account or to your blogs as appropriate...In addition you can write a short article about a salary like "How much money does Martha Stewart make?" or "How much money does Bill Gates make?" or "How much money does Warren Buffet make?", etc...See a sample article here...

10. Signup for a FREE Squidoo account...Squidoo is a nice revenue sharing website where you can post articles while adding content from Amazon and eBay for monetization (no affiliate ids required, i think)...You will add links from your "lenses" to your blogs as appropriate...You can also add a RSS feed from your "top lists" on Best-Reviewer and your blogs...

11. Signup for YouSayToo to automatically bring traffic to your blogs, once the links are set up from YouSayToo to your blogs/websites...This is where most of my traffic comes from daily...You will add links (RSS feeds) from your blogs for backlinks...It automatically pulls content from your blog after you intall a little HTML code on your blog/website...

12. Get NetBlaze which is a proven system to drive FREE traffic to your blog/website...

13. Signup for a FREE Clickbank ID...On Clickbank you will find a ton of digital products to promote by placing banners all around on your blog/website and possibly some revenue sharing websites as well...

5) YouSayToo is really the best thing that's happened to my blogs this week, because just as they say it has increased traffic to my blogs...You consolidate your blogs there and you get more exposure and more money through revenue sharing from AdSense and Amazon Associates to boot...The best part for me is that I didn't have to go there and come up with new original content for YouSayToo, they just automatically feed directly from my blogs all the new posts as soon as they are published...Isn't that cool?...

6) Get your FREE Amazon Associates affiliate account here...Not only can you earn money through revenue sharing sites like InfoBarrel and YouSayToo, but you can build out your own stores and pick and choose to sell anything from the vast selection of products that are available on Amazon.com including: books, DVDs, toys, electronics, kitchen tools, food and spices, jewelry and much, much more...

7) Bitly is a great little tool that you will use for Twitter or anywhere that you like, and the basic account is FREE to use...It's easy to use too...You just sign up for your FREE account and then paste your long URLs into the box that says "Shorten your links and share from here" and then click the "Shorten" button...And then not only will your URL be shortened, but it will also be logged into your history link list where it will be tracked so that you will know exactly how many times it was clicked...It's convenient to use this tool to shorten your URL for the Twitter service because they only allow 140 characters...

Well, I can tell you what this review is quite overdue...I have been busy, busy, busy as usual working on my online ventures of course...Learning how to be an online marketer and raising a family will just about lead you to be "cross-eyed and crazy"...By the end of the day I am soooo done you can just stick a fork in me...Now on to the review for the rest of you WAHMs out there...
