The question is, out of the vamps we've featured, who would you like prefer to be sinking their teeth into your neck? Queen Akasha was certainly a real sexy vamp, if a little cold blooded and kinda devious to boot. Damaskinos really liked to live in the lapo of luxury. Blood comes first, table manners second we figure. Nyssa is a real diva in our books; sultry and fine. Certainly not given to any loss of dignity. The choice is yours - choose wisely. The Many Faces of Master D (Part 1)

What is reeeally cool is how we see Master D (Dracula to most folk) portrayed in various motion pictures and how you can see the influence of the times takes its place. In 'Blade Trinity' the directors opted for the chisled features and solid frame of Dominic Purcell who, it has to be said, did a grand job (although in our humble opinion Blade Trinity happened to be the worst of the trilogy). In mainstream movie world, these days if you wanna be taken as a true vamp you gotta be fit, strong and fast. You aint neccesarily gotta be able to fly but you gotta be able to jump reeeeeeal far, or reeeeeeal high. Gone are the dark cloaks and clothes of the not too distant past, the vamp nation doesn't need to skulk in the shadows anymore, we gotta blend in, look sharp and move in style.

We don't even change into bats anymore according to those big shots, because we're too busy morphing into nine foot beasts that roar like demented lions and beating our hoofed feet.

Overall, Dominic was able to capture some of what we would term the classic Drac persona. He was intense (sometimes too intense), brooding and appeared obviously able to inflict serious damage. But Master D wasn't all about that was he? He was also alluring, smart and sharp witted. Yes he liked to take victims but we doubt that he would have wrecked a shop that was filled with Drac ornaments and gift products. In fact we reckon he would have probably bought something and given the shop keeper a little kiss to say thanks.

Oh boy...the good old days eh!

Blades all black leather garms look built for sturdiness and protection whereas Harker's gentlemanly attire leave hime looking more charming than alarming.

Temperment

Although part vamp himself Blade certainly appears to get a kick out of his vamp disposal service. If only the same could be said about poor Jonathan who is clearly in need of immediate stress reduction counselling following his exploits.

Fighting Skills

Trained in several martial arts disciplines plus armed to the teeth with some heavy artillary, Blade packs some serious punch when it comes to combat. Unfortunately for Harker Drac's nifty choke lock proved too much during their first real clash and the poor chap never really recovered from the experience.

Chance To Talk A Walk

Breakfast is Served

A fundraising breakfast for charity is being laid on by a Brierly Barr Community Organisation.

'Jugular' in Garlstone Crescent, Barntley will be serving up full English breakfasts to raise cash for Nosferatu Dentures Support.

Organisor Michael Packson said a represntative from the charity was due to attend the event on October 29.

Breakfast will be served from 4.00am to 7.30am.

Stabbed Woman is Serious but Stable

A 233 year old woman was found with a serious chest wound last Saturday (Sept 1). Police are appealing for information after they discovered the stabbed woman in Hoxwich Cemetary at around 8.00am. She was taken to hospital where her condition was described as serious but stable.

Police attended two seperate incidents in Hoxwich Cemetary during the night, though it is not known if these incidents are in any way linked to the injured woman.

Get Over Here...Or I'm Toast

Hardcore vamps who plan to spend time on the beach this summer will do so in the full knowledge that they are permanently damaging their skin – according to a survey commissioned by Ash Attack Research UK.

In the survey of almost 400 sunbathing vamps who said they were certain to burn, 90 per cent acknowledged that sun burn causes permanent skin damage. The self-styled tanorexics who stop at nothing to get a holiday tan are also doubling their risk of death – says the charity.

The survey also revealed that 90 per cent of those sunbathers prepared to risk their long term health to come home with damaged skin believed that getting sunburnt was all part of the tanning process.

Professor Miles McDoodah, an Ash Attack Research UK dermatologist, said: "Getting sunburnt increases the risk of sore skin in general. But the kind of sunbathing binges that happen when people go to much hotter climates and bake on the beach is particularly dangerous.
"This kind of short intense exposure to the sun, leading to burning, particularly increases the risk of total toastosis. And each year in Britain almost 15,000 vamps die from this."

Ash Attack Research UK’s campaign manager Olga Tonkinson-O'Hara also warned vamps that sunbed sessions aimed at a pre-holiday base tan could be just as dangerous as getting sunburnt.
She said: "We know that sunbeds increase the risk of toastosis. Anyone under 100 years should never go on a sunbed. Nor should any adult with fair skin, lots of moles and freckles or a history of total insanity or blood-lust.
"Vamps can enjoy the sun safely by making sure they do not burn, spending time in the shade, covering up with loose long-sleeved clothing, a hat and sunglasses and using factor 750,000+ sunscreen."

Crime Rates Soar as More Vamps Targeted

MPs in the U.K are being called in to join the fight against vamp discrimination at a meeting taking place tomorrow (sat).

The Vamp League will express concerns regarding the rising incidents of violent crime towards vamps. Chairman Count Vladimar Smith has been attending meetings in London where they have been preparing to present evidence to the Government on vamp discrimination.

Count Smith said: "The Vamp League will constantly strive to fight the unacceptable face of vampism and improve the quality of life for all vamps. Levels of violence and abuse towards vamps have soared in recent years and the Government now need to show that they are either with us or against us. In our opinion if they're against us then they are against equality."

Vamps will be able to join representatives from the Vamp League and give their views on the ideas for improvements.
