How to work the light angels et al. It was a Saturday well spent. The assignment at the end of the class before I begin the next set of advance classes was to put all the studio education to practical purpose. Photographing open spaces and people happens to be my favorite thing. Hence I choose the city theme. So for the past three weeks I have been taking at-least one picture every single day on my way to work, pleasure. Suddenly the weather gods have become quite peaceful in Bangalore. The sky always has a pleasant shade. I put together a small compilation of what I have been seeing through the lens over the weeks. I am in love with assignment, wondering if I should extend the photo diary assignment without the limitations of a theme.

Wore this to brunch at Le Christal, my new favorite brunch and tea place at Lavelle Road. Good food, ideal for tea tasting in the evening while you watch the sun go down. Plus if people watching is your thing then this will be your new hangout as well. Go try.

Dear Summer,

I write to you from the depths of a shoe closet where I sit wrapped in butter paper. I am quite young and have not really seen the world. Can you please be a little less harsh so I can walk around without suffocating the person wearing me. (For those who don’t believe in global warming, we will deal with this once I am outside) I am no gum boots hence cannot walk around during the monsoons. The slush does not help my health. I was listening to Vegabond- Wolfmother this morning and they sing about living free and walking around all day long, precisely my thoughts. All I ask is please don’t make me do things against my will.

Yours sincerely,

What do you do when one of the chicest salon in town asks you to host a pampering/indulgence session for friends and family? You jump around with joy, do the happy dance, ask all your friends to say your amazivag. Then sedate yourself, reply saying you will be thrilled and this could be something you could do.

So Jean Claude Biguine opened their second flagship salon in Phoenix mall, WhiteField. They have saved the day for me a couple of times earlier. (read here and here) Hence a visit was a must irrespective of everything else.

Sensual debauchery is anyways my thing. Few friends and I landed up at the salon even before it was officially launched. (Talk about the perks of being a fashion blogger) It’s a swell place, lovely ambience and everything but above all a salon should deliver what they promise. We don’t visit a place for it’s interiors only right?

Pedicure, manicures, hair spa, an evening make up session. We tried them all. After about 3 hours of pure pampering thanks to the most patient staff who also feed us if I may add. We all left with happy feet, manicured fingers, pretty faces as if this wasn’t enough a gift card as well.

Bangalore has tons of weekend getaway options inside a 300 km radius. Chikmagalore , the land of home-stays and coffee estates happens to be one such dreamy destination. This was on my travel checklist for a while now.

When The Serai invited me for a Women’s Day weekend to their ultra-luxurious resort located in Chikmagalore, there was only one thing to do – pack my bags. This required no prior planning ,a hard to believe itenary which included wining dinning and partying with eight other beautiful woman bloggers.

Post a 5 hour drive we reached The Serai. I knew the only thing I would be reporting will be the conjured images of the place. The expansive green property is dotted with cottages for rooms attached with private pools. Wooden interiors, tasteful décor with a garden view bathroom makes it a little difficult to leave the cottage and head out.

Oma their signature spa has to be my highlight of the weekend. Aroma therapy massages, scrubs et al. An absolute must for your stiff and sore muscles. I opted for the coffee scrub and walked out smelling like fresh berries after an hour of steaming and scrubbing.

Conversations, music, early morning bike rides, pool parties, estate tours on a tractor and coffee making on a cliff with incredibly talented , humorous and beautiful women is how I would summarize one of my happiest memories of a trip.

(Wearing Dress : Tibetian plaza, Shoes Zara)

When The Serai invited me to Chikmangalore with 8 other bloggers to celebrate women’s day, post the first 15 mins of screaming with joy, suddenly dawned that I had nothing remotely fashionable to wear. I barely buy clothes, most of what I own is pretty incredible if the intention is to pull off the sloppy chic or the grunge look, which obviously wasn’t the first choice of my style manifest for the trip. I had two days to finish my shopping chores and post sale season is a very odd time to indulge. You are used to slashed price tags and then suddenly you face the full price phenomena. However when you have puritan intentions about clothes the universe mostly comes to your rescue. I was strolling during my lunch hour and happened to walk past the new Tibetian plaza located in Kormangala (Bangalore). One small little store inside for some strange reason was selling everything on display for measly amounts. I snagged this dress and one other top. I am back from one of the most beautiful and blissful weekends at The Serai in Chickmangalore. Tons of pictures and stories about coffee, food, cycling, pampering, swimming and midnight pool party to follow soon.

A few days ago Lagori, Bangalore based band was looking for some fun outfit ideas for their gigs. We decided to touch base with Breakbounce. They sent over a couple of t-shirts and a smart pair of fitted khakis. I did a fun shoot with them in mayflower covered Cubbon Park.

The makers of casual street menswear clothing. Nothing can be more vexing than shopping with most men. Breakbounce is about to make this task a little bit easier with their colorful and young collection. Interesting detailing coupled with good quality is how I would describe the collection. One of the few brands to have incorporated colors quite well that men will not shy away from. Tees, well fitted trousers, shorts and shirts they have them all. The spring summer collection should be out soon on Myntra, stalk their Breakbounce website for more.

Getting out of my college years is one of the best things that has happened to me. This means I’am not under undue pressure to be one of the cool kids and be seen at all the parties in town. I have always been fussy about attending events or parties. One of the reasons being Bangalore has a bizarre 11:30 deadline. Unless a really interesting phenomena in the name of party is occurring I refuse to go.

When Style.in asked me if I wanted to attend the Silent Noise part at Opus Bangalore, I wanted to get of my pajamas and head out to Opus. Silent party was like an urban legend to me, had never been to one. The logic behind a silent party is, there are 3 DJs playing music through out the night. Each of them are color coded and the guests are all given headphones, which is the only of source of music via the the DJs. You change channels on your headphones and tune into the color/DJ of your choice.

A bunch of us headed to Opus. The stage was set with each of the three DJs representing a particular genre of music color coded in blue, green and red. Three different kinds of music were made available on a single platform ensuring everybody’s taste was catered to. At one point same music was playing in 2 different channels but mixed so very differently. It was as if you were connecting with their personalities. I was uberly fascinated to see how all of us were grooving in sync even if we were not listening to the same channel. Plus the whole excitement of discovering a song on one channel and immediately asking everyone else to tune in to the same and having our moment right there was a fabulous experience.

Unlike regular parties where everything is loud and having a conversation means having to scream your lungs out. Here all you had to do was simply take off your headphones talk all you want without damaging your vocal cords and put on your headphones when music is calling.

To be warned though that your mouth will look like it has a hanger stuck inside by the end of the session as your constantly smiling looking at your hands and feet. One indulgent session and I am it’s newest slave. I have stout little people for fingers hence beautifying them had never been my agenda. Now my stout little ones have pretty orange heads and they are adorable. I am annoyingly looking at them all the time. I now have a new fortnight ritual to follow with my girl friends.

What do you do when you have an hours break on a weekday ? Listen to me don’t ever get a haircut. I walked into the closest fancy looking parlor and asked the hair stylist for a quick trim. I guess I was eating up his lunch time so he decided to eat my hair up. Yes that’s exactly what happened. From every profile it now looks like I sport a different kind of haircut. The bangs are the funniest. They park themselves like a wave on my forehead, looks like I could be a head double for a 70′s head shot photo shoot.

After digging a hole and burying myself for a bit I decided to get it fixed and guess who came to my rescue. The lovely people at Jean Cluade Biguine. More on that soon.

TIP: Always create a scene if this happens for a fee waver. Buy some new shoes with the same money and it will make the ordeal so much better.

I was supposed to send this to a zine but procrastination got the better out of me and I opened this folder almost after 6 months. The dress also happens to be one my first authentic vintage finds. I was so excited and would wear it everywhere. The fabric has small holes which has been very neatly covered up with silk threads making it look like some sort of a pattern. It has been a while since I stumbled upon something vintage in mint condition.
